Headed down to AT&T Park to catch my Marlins battle the Giants. After a relatively unsuccessful shoot the night before with my 24-105 (although working on something really special involving the full moon), I decided to bring my old Tamron 18-200 to get a better focal range. Not the fastest lens out there (f/6.3 at 200mm) but it did the trick. Like last night, the Marlins lost the game.

The Red, the White and the Blue

This is all I was able to see of San Francisco's 4th of July fireworks. Low fog and neighboring building blocked all but the top of the fireworks. I captured several bursts of fireworks and rather than pick one or post several photos, I put three together and they happen to be in red, white and blue.

Today is the 4th of July, when photographers nationwide aim their cameras at the sky and experiment in long exposure photography of fireworks. Since I probably won't get to post tonight's lights until tomorrow, here is some fireworks action from Washington, DC in 2006.

Just received my canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens and had to run to the roof. It's disorientatingly fun at 10mm and makes me rethink what I shoot and how.
