In this article I have mentioned the steps to upgrade the firmware of syRotech Router. Keeping the firmware upto date can help you with better internet speed, Enhance Functionality & Security.

Lets see the steps ➤

Step 1 : Login to Your syRotech Router configuration page.

[ Note : If you don't have your Router Configuration Page access, connect to your Internet Service Provider. They can provide you the require details]

Step 2 : Click on Statics. This page contain your current firmware detail, like your Device Model, Version You have to refer these detail to download the latest firmware applicable for your router.

Step 3: Now let's download the latest Firmware. Before I proceed , just a disclaimer !!! , if you will find difficulty to choose the correct Firmware File for your router, Please ask your Internet Service Provider. They will download the file and share it with you. Then you can skip this step to download the file.

To download the Upgraded Firmware File for your router, Open another tab in browser and open this URL → https://www.syrotech.com/firmwares ,You can see list of firmware files to download. But you have to download the latest version firmware file as per your router configuration. Just check the Type, Model and Hardware version, the one which matches with your router configuration, download that file and save it.

Step 4: Now again move to your router page, click Management --> then click Device Manage --> then select Upgrade Image. Upload the file that you have downloaded in above step. Click Ok

Step 5: It will take some time to process. You have successfully updated your firmware :). You can re-login to your router configuration window and can cross check if firmware updated or not, just check your Firmware Version :)

Add Scope in Oracle Integration | SCOPE Action | INTEGRATION GENERATION 3

In this article I have shared the steps to add scope action in Oracle Integration.

SCOPE in Integration:

You can manage a group of Integratron Actions with a Scope action. The concept of scope is essential for designing complex integration flows, managing transactions, and controlling error handling.

Error Handling: Each scope can have its own error handlers. If an error occurs within a specific scope, the associated error handler can be used to catch and handle the error.
Integration Flow Design : Within an OIC integration, you can organize integration components (such as activities, branches, and error handlers) into different scopes. Each scope represents a distinct section of the integration flow.

Use case : Refer below image - let's add scope in an existing integration and later will put the adapter inside the scope.

Let's see the steps....

Drag your cursor along the line below the trigger until the Add icon appears. Search for SCOPE action, select SCOPE

Click EDIT ICON 🖉 and then enter Scope Name "InvokeCalculatorServiceScope" (you can enter any meaningful name). Click ☑

Click Save. Scope have been added successfully.

If your requirement is just to know how to add a SCOPE, you can leave the below steps. You are done. You can close this article. 😁

Now lets put the Invoke SOAP Connection & its Mapper inside the Scope. Click 𝩊 (rectangular icon) inside the Mapper, then select CUT ICON ✀ (Please refer below Image)

Drag your cursor to SCOPE. Click on 𝩊 (rectangular icon) and then select PASTE, Click Into🡇

Mapper moved successfully inside Scope. Now similarly lets move the Invoke inside the Scope.

Move your cursor to Invoke Connection. Click 𝩊 (rectangular icon) then select CUT ICON ✀.
Now drag your cursor inside the SCOPE. Click on ➕ (plus icon), present below he mapper and then select PASTE.

This way we have successfully added a SCOPE inside an existing integration flow and also have readjusted the flow by putting the scope connection & its mapper inside the SCOPE.

Note: 🖉

You may see a warning sign after putting the INVOKE Connection inside the SCOPE. This is because response of the INVOKE Connection moved inside the SCOPE which was earlier mapped with the Trigger Response, and you know that the elements defined in the parent scope have local visibility inside this scope.

So, to fix this issue we need to declare a Variable in the integration which will store the INVOKE Response and can be accessed out of the SCOPE. The very same variable can be mapped with the Trigger.

Build Your Second Integration from Scratch | Create a PROJECT | Create Calculator Application | Oracle Integration Generation 3

In this article I have share the steps to develop and test a Calculator Integration from scratch in Oracle Integration Generations 3 Instance | A complete Hands-on Practice.

Use Case - Develop an Integration which will be able to perform basic calculator operations i.e. (i.e. Addition ➕, Subtraction ➖, Multiplication ✖, Division ➗).

PART 1: Create Connection

STEP 1: Create REST Trigger Connection. Follow this Article to create the connection.

STEP 2: Create the SOAP Connection for the Calculator Service. Please follow this article to create the connection.

Once you have created the above two connections, Let's moved to Part 2 i.e. Develop the Integration.

PART 2: Create Integration

STEP 3: Create Integration.

STEP 3.1: In the navigation pane, Click on Integrations (at left hand top). Click Create, then select Application.

STEP 3.2: In the Name Filed, enter CalculatorApplication (you can enter any other meaningful name). Leave the other field as they are, click Create.

The integration canvas opens with an option for creating a trigger connection. The trigger (source) connection allows your integration to receive inbound messages from an application.

STEP 3.3: Let's configure the REST Trigger connection to define how the Trigger connection receives messages in the integration

Click on the ➕ icon and then search for REST Trigger Connection which we have created in Step 1. Select that connection.

Enter "Calculate" as the endpoint name, Enable the “☑️ select to configure multiple resources or verbs " and then click Continue.

Resource configuration page will get open. Enter the below information as suggested:

Provide an Operation Name: enter add
What is the endpoint's relative resource URI: enter /calculator/operation/add
What action do you want to perform on the endpoint: select POST
Select any options that you want to configure: select below options

☑️Configure a request payload for this endpoint
☑️ Configure this endpoint to receive the response

Click Continue

In the Request Page enter the following details

We have successfully configured the Request - Response page for ADD ➕ operation. Similarly, we have to configure the Request-Response page for the other operations - SUBTRACT ➖, MULTIPLY ✖, and DIVIDE➗. I will cover the detail steps with screenshots for one more operation i.e. for SUBTRACT ➖ and the rest two operations you can do it by yourself. Don't worry will provide the configuration details but no screenshots 😁

STEP 3.4: We have successfully configured four operations in REST Trigger Adapter. Now let's add the Calculator SOAP Connection to invoke calculator service.

Drag your cursor along the line until the Add icon appears. Select Invokes, then select the Calculator connection

Configure Basic Info page opens, enter following details:

What do you want to call your endpoint - Enter Addition

Click continue

Configure Operations page appears. Enter the following information

Select the Port - select CalculatorSoap
Select the Operation - select Add

Click Continue

Configure Headers page appears. Leave the configuration as they are, click Continue.

Summary page appears. Review your selections, then click Done.

If you notice, by mistake, I have added the invoke connection at the end because of which the response mapper is present at the Top. We need to reposition the response mapper in the flow. So before moving forward lets first Reposition Response Mapper.

1. Select the Add Map (i.e. Trigger Response)

2. and then click Cut ✀ (present at top left) and then Paste it at the End of the flow. Thats it. Now Flow is okay. We can move forward with our integration development.

STEP 3.5: We have successfully created and configure the REST Trigger and SOAP Invoke connection. Let's now configure the mappers.

Double Click the first map, i.e. Map Addition (request mapper)

The mapper opens. In the Sources section, expand Add Request. In the Target section, expand Addition Request.
Drag the source Number 1 element to the target intA element.
Similarly drag the source Number 2 element to the target intB element
Click Validate and wait for the Validation Successful message to popup.
Click Back to exit the mapper and return to the integration canvas. Your mappings are automatically saved.

Now Let's Map the second Mapper i.e. Map add (response mapper). Double click the mapper or select the mapper, right click and click Edit

The mapper opens. In the Sources section, expand Addition Response. In the Target section, expand Response Wrapper.
Drag the source Add Result element to the target Add Response element.
Click Validate and wait for the Validation Successful message to popup.
Click Back to exit the mapper and return to the integration canvas. Your mappings are automatically saved.

STEP 3.6: Define a Business Identifier
Let's now define the primary business identifier for this Scope.

Knowledge:  👀 

Business Identifier? Business identifiers enable you to track payload fields in messages during runtime. Each integration requires a primary business identifier.

Click red error sign, then select Business Identifier . Expand Request Wrapper and drag Number 1 to the Business identifier field.
Similarly drag Number 2 to the second Business identifier field.

Click Save, then click outside the Business identifiers panel to close it. The business identifier you specify here is visible when you monitor your completed integration instance.
We have successfully completed the configuration of ADDITION ➕ Operation; design looks as follows.

Now similarly we are going to configure the Invoke connection and Mapper for all the left 3 operations i.e. for Subtraction ➖, Multiplication ✖, Division ➗

STEP 3.7: Add the Calculator Invoke Connection

Enter Endpoint Name = Multiplication, click continue

Select Port = CalculatorSoap , Operation= Multiply and then click Continue

Configure Headers page opens. Leave this page as they are. Click Continue.

Summary page appears. Review your selections, then click Finish.

STEP 3.8: We have successfully configured the SOAP Invoke connection, now let's configure the mapper.

Select the first mapper (i.e. Map Multiplication), click edit

Drag and drop the source element to the target element (similar to above step 3.5)

Open the second mapper (i.e. Map Multiply) and complete the mapping (similar to above step 3.6).

STEP 3.9: Define a Business Identifier (similar to above step 3.6)

This way we have successfully configured the Multiplication Operation also.
Now I request you to configure the left 2 operations i.e. SUBTRACT ➖ AND DIVIDE ➗ by yourself. You just need to keep in mind to select the correct operation while configuring the SOAP Connections of the left 2 operations.
Choose Subtract for subtract operation and Divide for Divide Operations.
Mapper will be similar to the above configured operations.
Once you have completed the configuration of the left two operations (i.e. configured Invoke connection, Mapper and business identifier) Final Page looks like below image:

PART 3: Test the Integration

Activate and Run the Integration

In Integrations section, click Power button ,

Leave the tracing level set to the Production and the other options as they are and then click Activate.

Click Refresh periodically. The integration status changes to Active. You are now ready to run the integration and send a message

Click Actions , then select Run

Let's check Add operation first. Select Add operations. Enter below payload in the body section and click Run

View the response message at the bottom of the Configure and run page. The addition operation value is displayed

In this article I have mentioned the steps to create, design, activate, run an integration completely from scratch in Oracle Integration Gen 3. This article helps you to understand the new Gen 3 UI (user interface) and some of its new features.

Use Case - Develop an Integration which will convert ℃ (Celsius) temperature into ℉ (Fahrenheit).

Let's Develop the Integration in Oracle Integration Generation 3 Instance:

STEP 1: Create a Project.

Knowledge:  👀 

Projects? It Enables you to manage the entire life cycle of an integration from within a project. Your project contains sections for creating, designing, deploying, and monitoring your integration resources (integrations, connections, lookups, and JavaScript libraries)

Click Add, then select Create

In the Name field, enter 'My Temperature Converter Project' (you can enter any meaningful name). Leave all remaining fields as they are, then click Create.

The page for your project is displayed. 👇

STEP 2: Create an Integration. Let's now create an integration inside the project

In the Integrations section, click Add. The Add integration panel opens.

Click Create, then select Application

In the Name field, enter 'Celsius to Fahrenheit' (you can enter any meaningful name). Leave all remaining fields as they are, then click Create.

The integration canvas opens with an option for creating a trigger connection. The trigger connection enables your integration to receive inbound messages from an application.

Note: 🖉

As you design this integration, an error icon can appear on the right side of the page. Errors may occur due to mistakes you make in the mapper or Adapter Endpoint Configuration Wizard. Other errors that appear are resolved as you complete the design of all parts of this integration. Click the error icon to view details. To resolve the error, you can either follow the instructions in the Error panel or wait to see if your completed design resolves the issues. Click outside the Error panel to close it.

STEP 3: Create a Trigger Connection to Define a Celsius Parameter and the Content of the Temperature Converter Response (i.e. Fahrenheit).

Let's now create a trigger connection inside the integration canvas. The trigger (source) connection allows you to define a Celsius parameter and the content of the Temperature Converter Response to receive back from the Temperature Converter application (city, latitude, longitude, and other content).

In the Connections panel of the integration canvas, click Add trigger.
The Create connection panel opens. Enter REST in the search Filed
Select REST as the adapter connection to use.

The page for configuring the REST Adapter opens. Enter the below information

Name - 'Temperature Converter' (you can enter any meaningful name)
Role - Select Trigger

Knowledge:  👀 

Roles perform the following tasks.

Trigger: Enables an inbound application (endpoint) to trigger (run) the integration.

Invoke: Enables your integration to invoke an outbound application (endpoint).

Trigger and Invoke: Enables you to create a connection that can be used as both a trigger and invoke. For example, you use the connection as a trigger in one integration and as an invoke in another integration.

Leave all remaining fields as they are, then click Create. The page for configuring security and delivery methods for the REST Adapter trigger connection appears.
Enter below details:

Security - Select OAuth 2.0 to secure incoming messages.
Access type - Ensure Public gateway is selected. This access type uses the public internet to receive messages.

Click Test to confirm that you configured the connection successfully. When testing completes, a success message is displayed. Configuration progress is now 100% complete. Click Save. Click Back to return to the integration canvas. A menu shows that the newly created connection is available for selection

Let's now configure the REST Adapter trigger connection in the integration. During configuration, you specify details such as the operation, the relative resource URI, the query parameters, and the message payload content.

In the integration canvas, click the Temperature Converter connection shown in the menu. The Basic Info page of the Adapter Endpoint Configuration Wizard opens.

In the What do you want to call your endpoint field, enter 'GetTemperatureInFahrenheit', then click Continu to access the Resource Configuration page.

Enter below details:

What is the endpoint's relative resource URI: Enter /CelsiusToFahrenheit

What action do you want to perform on the endpoint: Select GET.

Select any options that you want to configure, select the following options:

☑️Add and review parameters for this endpoint
☑️Configure this endpoint to receive the response

Leave all remaining fields as they are. The completed Resource Configuration page looks as below. Click Continue to access the Request Parameter Page.

In the Specify Query Parameters section, click Add. Double-click the row in the Name column to enter a value.

Enter Celsius, then select string from the Data Type list

At runtime, you specify the Celsius on the Configure and run page to receive a Temperature in Fahrenheit.

Click Continue to access the Response page. Enter the below Information

Select the response payload format - Select JSON Sample.

The REST Adapter trigger connection is now fully configured for use in the integration. A map action is also automatically created for mapping data between the trigger connection and the invoke connection that you create in the next section.

STEP4: Create an Invoke Connection to Call the Temperature Converter Application.

Let's now create an invoke connection inside the integration canvas to call the Temperature Converter Application and receive value of temperature in Fahrenheit.

In the right pane, click Invokes . The Create connection panel opens.

Click Create Connection to create a new connection.

The Create connection panel opens. Enter SOAP in the search field. Select SOAP as the adapter connection to use. This SOAP Adapter connection will invoke the Temperature Converter Application.

Enter the following Information:

Name - Enter Temperature Converter Service
Role - Select Invoke. This role enables your integration to invoke the Temperature Converter Application

Leave all remaining fields as they are, then click Create.
The page for configuring security and delivery methods for the REST Adapter invoke connection appears.

Enter the following information

Properties - Paste the Temperature Converter Application WSDL URL
Security Policy - Select No security Policy
Access Type - Select Public gateway. This access type uses the public internet to send messages.

Click Test and then click Validate and test to confirm that you configured the connection successfully.

Click Save.

Click Back to return to the integration canvas.

Let's now configure the SOAP Adapter invoke connection in the integration to Covert the Temperature in Celsius into Fahrenheit which you specify when running the integration. During configuration, you specify details such as the operation, the relative resource URI, the query parameters, and the message payload content.

Drag your cursor along the line below the GetTemperatureInFahrenheit trigger until the Add icon appears. Select Invokes, then select the Temperature converter Service connection.

The Adapter Endpoint Configuration Wizard opens. Enter the following information

What do you want to call your endpoint - Enter ConvertCelsiusToFahrenheit

Click Continue

Edit Operations page appears. Enter the following information

Select the Port - select TemperatureConversionSoap
Select the Operation - select CelsiusToFahrenheit

Click Continue

Configure Headers page appears. Leave the configuration as they are, click Continue.

Summary page appears. Review your selections, then click Done.

STEP 5: We have successfully created and configure the REST Trigger and SOAP Invoke connection. Let's now configure the mappers.

Double-click the First map i.e. ConvertCelsiusToFahrenheit or you can simply select the mapper, right click and click Edit.

The mapper opens. In the Sources section, expand Query Parameters. In the Target section, expand CelsiusToFahrenheit.
Drag the source Celsius element to the target nCelsius element.
Click Validate and wait for the Validation Successful message to popup.
Click Back to exit the mapper and return to the integration canvas. Your mappings are automatically saved.

Now Let's Map the second Mapper i.e. GetTemperatureInFahreneit. select the mapper, right click and click Edit

The mapper opens. In the Sources section, expand CelsiusToFahrenheitResponse. In the Target section, expand Response Wrapper.
Drag the source CelsiusToFahrenheitResult element to the target Celsius To Fahrenheit Result element.
Click Validate and wait for the Validation Successful message to popup.
Click Back to exit the mapper and return to the integration canvas. Your mappings are automatically saved.

STEP 6: Define a Business Identifier
Let's now define the primary business identifier for the integration.

Knowledge:  👀 

Business Identifier? Business identifiers enable you to track payload fields in messages during runtime. Each integration requires a primary business identifier.

Above the integration, click Business Identifier . Expand QueryParameters, and drag Celsius to the Business identifier field

Click Save, then click outside the Business identifiers panel to close it. The business identifier you specify here is visible when you monitor your completed integration instance.
Check for any red error icons (left hand side of integration canvas). If you see any, click the icon for details and resolve those errors.
The complete integration design looks as follows.

Click Back to exit the integration canvas and return to the project page.

STEP 7: Activate and Run the Integration

In the Integrations section, click Actions , then select Activate

Click Activate. Select the tracing level set to the Debug (Not recommended), Leave the other options as they are and then click Activate.

Why to select Debug (Not recommended)?

If you receive runtime errors, the Debug (Not recommended) selection provides detailed information in the activity stream and is useful for testing and troubleshooting any runtime errors

Click Refresh periodically. The integration status changes to Active. You are now ready to run the integration and send a message

In the Integrations section, click Actions , then select Run

Create SOAP Connection in OIC Integration 3 | Calculator Service SOAP Connection | Oracle Integration Generation 3

In this Article we will see the steps to create a SOAP connection in OIC Generation 3:

Use Case - Lets create a SOAP connection using Calculator Service WSDL URL. This connection can be use in any integration to perform basic calculator operations (i.e. Addition ➕, Subtraction ➖, Multiplication ✖, Division ➗)

STEP 1: On the Oracle Integration Cloud Service home page, click the Design and then click Connections

STEP 2: Click the Create button

STEP 3: Search for SOAP adapter and then select it

STEP 4: Enter Integration Name = 'Calculator' (you can enter any meaningful name), select Role=Invoke & then click Create

STEP 5: Copy and Paste the WSDL URL and select Security = No Security Policy, Access Type = Public Gateway

Create REST Trigger Connection in OIC Integration 3 | Oracle Integration Generation 3

STEP1: Login to OIC Generation 3 Instance. On the Home page click Design 🖉 (left hand top side) and then click Connections.

Oracle Integration (OIC) to import data into HCM cloud using HDL Import Job | Oracle Integration Cloud

Oracle HCM Data Loader (HDL) Process ❓ 🤔

Oracle HCM Data Loader (HDL) jobs, a powerful tool for bulk loading data through integrations.
Using Oracle HDL, you can load business objects for most Oracle HCM Cloud products into Oracle Integration. For example, you can load new hires from Oracle Talent Acquisition Cloud (Taleo EE) as workers into Oracle HCM Cloud using an Oracle HDL job.
Integration architect can generate the delimited data files in Oracle Integration using business object template files provided by Oracle HCM Cloud. The business object template file must be associated with a stage file action in Oracle Integration to generate the delimited data file .

⭐At a high level, an Oracle HDL job pattern can be implemented in three steps:

1) Generate the HCM HDL compliant delimited data (.dat) file.
2) Submit the Oracle HDL job.
3) Monitor the job status until completion.

Hands-on Practice :

Use Case :

In this article we will see the steps to develop an Integration which will load Person Email detail from OIC as Workers ( business object ) into Oracle HCM Cloud using an Oracle HDL job.

I have divided the complete article into two parts :

In PART -1 we will submit the HDL Process ( import and load ) directly in the HCM cloud application i.e. we will see the steps to submit the HDL process from front end and in PART - 2 we will develop an integration that will submit the same HDL process from OIC.

PART - 1

Create HCM HDL File of Worker Business Object :

Save the below box data as 'Worker.dat' file. Then compress (zip) the Worker.dat into a file name of your choice, but it must have a .zip file extension. This file contains email details of two employees. Please cross check weather the below employee no exist in your HCM Application Instance or not. If not exist you can use any other employee no which exist in your HCM Application.

We have the HCM Data Loader file ready for bulk Loading Person Email , now lets Follow the next step to import this into the HDL staging tables and load the data into the application tables ( i.e. Submit HDL Job - Import and Load )

All files must include METADATA lines, to explain which attributes are included in the file and the order in which their values are supplied.

All attribute names and values are delimited by the pipe '|' character by default.

The string immediately after the METADATA instruction identifies the record type the attributes are for, in our case 'PersonEmail'. The values that follow are the names of the attributes available on the PersonEmail record, that you want to supply data for.

The MERGE instruction tells HDL to create the grade if it doesn't already exist, or update it if it does.

IMPORTING AND LOADING YOUR FILE ( HDL Job ) :

On the Data Exchange page, click Import and Load Data

Click Import File (at top right)

Click Choose File button and select the .zip file which we have saved above and then click Review Parameters. You can directly click on Submit Now button but I intentionally want you check the parameters also because these parameters name and its value we will Map while developing OIC Integration.

You don't need to change the parameters values. Just click Submit

Click OK on the Submitted confirmation page

Import and Load Data process will get starts. Click Refresh 🔄 until the Import and Load status completed. Once the Import and Load process completed successfully, you can verify the HDL process by checking the Employees records.

Knowledge :  👀 

The Import Status will indicate if the business object .dat files in your zip file imported into the staging tables correctly. Here you can see that import was successful.

The Load Status will indicate if the data is successfully loaded in the Oracle HCM Cloud application tables. The clock icon indicates that Load is still in progress.

Lets Verify the HDL process by checking the Employee Records :

Go the HCM Application Home Page, click My Client Groups > Person Management

Search with any of the employee number which you have uploaded above in .zip file.

Then click Task Icon 🗉 and then select Person

You can see the Home email got updated with the ones which we have passed above in .zip file. This way we have successfully Load file with HCM Data Loader. Now we will develop the Integration that will be capable to do the same process which we have did manually.

PART - 2

OIC INTEGRATION TO SUBMIT HCM DATA LOADER (HDL) JOB :

⭐Prerequisite : FTP and HCM Connection. If you don't have these connection available in your OIC instance, You can follow these blogs to know the configuration steps ( click to configure FTP Connection , click to configure HCM Connection )

Lets create one Schedule Integration that will Trigger HCM Data Loader (HDL) job for uploading Worker data file from OIC into the HCM Cloud.

STEP 1 :

Before we start Integration development save the below box data as 'Worker.dat' file in your local system. Then compress (zip) the Worker.dat into a file name of your choice, but it must have a .zip file extension.

STEP 2 :

Create a Schedule Integration having some meaningful name.

Search for the FTP connection and select it. FTP adapter configuration wizard will get opened.

Enter any meaningful name for the endpoint and then click Next

Select 'Download File' operation , *Transfer Mode as Binary and enter the Download Directory path and then click Next

FTP Adapter configuration completed. Click Done.

Now search for the HCM Connection and select it. HCM adapter configuration window will get opened.

Enter any meaningful name for the endpoint and then click Next

Select Import Bulk Data using HCM Data Loader (HDL) and then click next

Select *Security Group = FAFusionImportExport and *Doc Account =hcm$/dataloader$/import$ and then click Next

HCM Adapter configuration for HDL completed. Click Done.

Now lets complete the Mapping :

Open the FTP Adapter mapping

Map the file Name , Directory and DownloadDirectory directory. Please make sure that for this Article please pass below details :

File Name = Worker.zip (in current case we are uploading Person Email of Worker business object so we need to pass Worker.dat file name exactly)
Directory = enter the FTP directory path where the Worker.dat file will be present while testing
DownloadDirectory = you can enter '/'

Please take reference from below image

Now open the HCM Adapter Mapping

Just map the columns as shown in below image and pass the required parameters ( below highlighted one )

STEP 3 : Monitor the job status until completion :

Add Assign action, enter some meaningful name and click create.

click on ➕ icon and declare one variable name 'varHDLFlowStatus' and initialize its value as '' (empty string) by clicking on edit icon 🖉. Then click Validate and Close the assign window.

Now we will add While action in the flow which will keep executing in a loop till the time submitted HDL process is completed :

Search for the While action and select it. Enter a meaningful name (ex- HDLFlowLoop) and then click create.

Click on 'Expression Builder' and build the expression like below and then click Validate and close the expression window.

$varHDLFlowStatus !='CANCELLED' and $varHDLFlowStatus !='COMPLETED'

Now lets configure HCM adapter to invoke operation which will query the status of the submitted HCM Data Loader Job :

Search for the HCM Connection and select it. Enter any meaningful name for the endpoint, click Next

Select Import Bulk Data using HCM Data Loader (HDL) and then click Next

Select query the status of an HCM Data Loader Job and then click Next.

Click Done.

Open the mapper by clicking on 🖉 icon and map the Process Id. Click Validate and click Close ( please take reference from below image )

Now we will add one more assign action in which we will update the variable value which we have declare before While action (in above step )

Search for Assign Action and select it. Enter any meaning name (like 'updateHDLFlowStatus' ) and click Create.

Click on the ➕ icon, select the variable which we have declare before while loop from the drop down menu (in my case is 'varHDLFlowStatus) and then click on edit 🖉icon

Drag and drop the *STATUS element in the expression builder ( take reference from below image ). Then click Validate and Close.

Again click Validate and Close.

Now at the end of the development just add one WAIT Activity of 10 sec. So that the while loop execute after interval of 10 secs. Once the while condition is fulfil it will exit the While Loop.

search for Wait action.

Enter some meaningful name for the WAIT Action. In seconds column enter 10. Click Create.

Knowledge :  👀 
Wait Action : Maximum wait time should be 6 hrs.

Integration development is completed. Enable the Tracking by clicking on the hamburger sign ( top right )

Lets TEST the Integration :

Upload the Worker.zip File ( which we have saved in PART 2 : STEP 1) in the FTP Folder ( make sure you upload the file in same directory path which you have entered in the FTP Mapping in PART 2 : STEP 2)

Activate the Integration and Submit it.

Wait for the Integration Run to get completed. You can check the status in Monitoring Page ( You can Navigate to Monitoring window by clicking on Home Icon (top left ), then click Monitoring --> Integrations --> Tracking

Once the Integration run completed, you can login to HCM Cloud Application and can verify the PersonEmail of the Employees get updated successfully with the email details which we havwe pass in the Worker.zip file by following the same verification steps that we followed in PART 1 of this article.

Develop an integration to get dynamic email notification | Oracle Integration Cloud

When we can use dynamic email notification ❓🤔

suppose you want to send email notification that contain DATA in TABEL FORMAT which ROWS is not FIXED i.e. body of email notification is not fixed. Sometime it contain 2 rows , in next run it may need 50 rows etc. so table structure needs to be dynamic ---> to handle such use case we need code OF DYNAMIC EMAIL NOTIFICATION.

Now lets develop one end to end Integration to see how we can implement logic to get dynamic email notification :

Use Case :

Our requirement is to send the Input data (employee records) of the integration via Email Notification in Tabular Format.

Suppose we have one set of records the then the email table contain one row (as shown in below image)

Similarly if we pass two sets of record, we will get email notification having two sets of record.

Create a new App Driven Orchestration :

Enter the below details and click Create:

*To : write the email address in which you want the Notifiaction

*Body : Enter the below HTML code as it is inside Body. This is

a simple HTML code to define Email payload , you can use your

own.

our dynamic email values.

As a man they respect the women decision, they don't bind it with their ego or self-respect. Now think can we organize a Svayamvara for a girl today, I think no, because she may be attack by acid from the unselected men 😶

Okay now lets come to the 21st Century, our very own century. Good morning readers , I hope you people are doing absolutely good. In today's blog post, I have talked about the increasing crime against women by men ( definitely not by all men ) in our country and also have attempted to share some laymen solution as per my understanding.

From last one month the newspapers and the digital media are flooded with news reports of crimes against women by the so called Men (because in real they are not man, I can't consider them a man who can't handle a rejection or a no). Whether a girl being chopped into pieces by her live in partner or acid attack on a 17 year old girl just because she stop talking to a man or a married women being killed for dowry or a women being slapped by his husband multiple times Infront of his son just because she blow the cake candle light before time. These are those cases which has been reported or get acknowledge after getting viral on social media but there are many other women who are facing such challenges in their day to day life.

Why Such heinous crime increasing day by day ?

Life has changed drastically in today's digital world but what not changed is that even today man fall in love with every pretty face. Internet helps man to get a women sitting on his couch, they just need to choose the right platform. They don't need to give too much efforts like during earlier days when man have to proof his superiority to get just a single women. And even some decades before i.e. during 90's, Man keep sitting on "chai ki Tapri" - a Tea Stall for hours just to see his crush but today you can see thousands of pretty face just by scrolling reels. This easy availability of women helping some man to always being ready to leave a women after being in a relationship for some time and when they failed to leave her because of some constitutional rules or because of any other reason they start domestic violence against them. Women becoming an object for them.

You can relate it with Sradha Walker case, where her partner start dating some another girl through some dating app when ever he fight with her. In short in life if you get something easily you can't respect it. Its a human nature.

Men's Love as the time passes in a relationship 😋

House wife or the non working women, who are not financial independent or the women who comes from the weaker section of the society or from a orthodox family where it is being said that "पति परमेश्वर होता है " - that means husband is god, domestic violence against these women are common because there the men know that even if he illtreat her she can't left him. Women are forced to live in such condition because if they leave the man where will they go ? All these ill effects of the society and women's compulsion is being used by some men to commit domestic violence and even commit some heinous crime against women.

Just some Suggestion ,

Dear Women,

Now a days you people need to be more vigilant, don't be in a hurry to start a relationship, don't fall in love with some one just after some chit chat on social media. Never share personal things through social media no matter how close and faith you have on somebody, because you don't know when their love converts to hate and they start using these things against you. Frankly speaking if some one genuinely cares for you they will never ask you for any such action.

Try to be financially Independent. Never left your job just because of someone else pressure. Life's half of the problem is solve if you have money in your hand 😊

You need to catch the red flags and be ready to make a distance when it is required. Don't wait too much like Sradha Walker. Have some close people to whom you can trust and share your problems when require. Don't be just a silent spectator. Never completely cut off from your very own people. Those who love you don't cut you off from your most trusted people.

Buzzword : NATIONAL PARTY

Recently you may have come to know that AAP (i.e. Aam Adami Party - a political party in India ) set to became the 9th National Party of India after winning 5 seats (MLAs) and securing 13% polled vote share in the Gujarat Assembly Election on Thursday Evening. Congratulations to AAP workers but for me as a curious individual I was quite interested in the Buzzword - 'National Party'.

So Good morning readers, In this Blog Post I will share my learning regarding 'How a registered party became a 'National Party' in India'.

What is a national party ?

A party with a 'National' presence i.e. the presence of a party is not restricted to one state or region as opposed to a regional party with a presence only in a particular state or region. Parties like the Congress and BJP are a 'National Party' however smaller parties like the Trinamool Congress, CPM and CPI are also recognized as a National Parties.

There are certain benefits for the political party after being recognized as a National Party. Like

Their election symbols (like the AAP’s broom) are reserved for use by their candidates across the country
They are eligible to get land in Delhi to build a party office
Entitled to airtime on the public broadcaster for election campaigns, example - All India Radio
They can have up to 40 star campaigners instead of the 20 that state parties are allowed
The expenditure on campaigning and travel of star campaigners is not added to the candidate's spending limit.

Criteria for recognition as a national party ?

The ECI (Election Commission of India) has laid down some specific criteria for registered party for being recognised as a national party. A party may gain or lose national status from time to time, depending on whether it meets the criteria.

The Recognized Party status is reviewed periodically by the ECI. The review take place after two consecutive elections instead of every election. If the party fail to meet the criteria, they would lose their status.

As per the ECI’s Political Parties and Election Symbols, 2019 handbook , A registered party would be recognized as a national party only if it fulfils any one of the conditions listed below

It is ‘recognised’ in 4 or more states as a state party; or
If its candidates polled at least 6% of total valid votes in any four or more states in the last Lok Sabha Assembly elections and has at least four MPs in the last Lok Sabha polls; or
If it has won at least 2% of the total seats in the Lok Sabha from not less than 3 states.

And to be recognised as a State Party, a registered party needs to fulfills any one of the Five Condition listed below:

Secure at least '6% vote share ➕ 2 MLA', in the last Assembly election; or
Secure at least '6% vote share ➕ 1 MP ', in the last Lok Sabha elections from that state; or
Should win at least 3% of the total number of seats or 3 seats (MLAs), whichever is more, in the last Assembly elections; or
at least one MP for every 25 members or any fraction allotted to the state in the Lok Sabha; or
Have at least 8% of the total valid votes in the last Assembly election or Lok Sabha election from the state.

Step 3 : Now in this step lets configure one Stage File Action to read the received csv file data.

Add Stage File activity

Stage File Activity ? : It provide access to the Integration Cloud local file system server. Using this activity you can Read,Write,List,Zip,Unzip etc. files that are already present in the local file server. You can use any of these operation by providing the File Name and its Directory Path.

Enter any meaning full name and click Next

Configure the stage File Action parameter as suggested below

*Choose the Stage File Operation : Read Entire File
Configure File Reference : Select Yes
*Specify the File Reference : Click Edit (Pencil icon) and then drag and drop *streamRefernece into Expression box (as shown in below image). click save and and click Exit Expression Builder

Select Sample delimited document (e.g. CSV) to define the structure of the file contents. Then click Next

Define the structure of the file contents by selecting below Delimitated Sample File. After selecting file configure the other options as suggested below :

Download Sample File

Enter the record name : Student (you can give any meaning ful name)
Enter the Record set name : StudentsDetail (You can any meaningful name )
Select the Field Delimiter : Comma(,)
Optionally Enclosed by : "
Terminated By : ${eol}

Click Next

Stage File Action configuration completed. Click Done.

Step 4 :Now lets add one Logger to log the received CSV data.

Logger ? : It Enables you to add log messages to the activity stream and diagnostic logs.

Search for Logger action and add it in flow

Enter any meaningful name and then click Create

Configure Logger option will get open , Select Log : Always and then click edit (pencil icon ) to map *Logger Message

Drag and drop *StudentDetail tag from left hand side(Source side ) inside Epression box and then click validate and close

Click Validate and close

Step 5 : Now enable the Tracking by clicking on right hand side hamburger sign and then click Tracking

Drag and Drop *streamReference in Primary Tracking Field.You can select another also as per your requirement.

Click Save

Integration is ready to test. Save the integration and Activate it.

#Testing of Integration

Now lets test the integration by passing some sample csv data as input of this integration and lets see the data are getting generated in Log or not.

[ Note : -- If you want to test this integration by getting it trigger from any Source System (Like WMS System ). For that you can share the endpoint point url of this integration with WMS system and getting it configured in that system. After that that system can hit this integration by sending some CSV data. ]

Click on Run button

Click Test

Pass the below sample CSV data and click Test

You can see the input csv data in Log (as shown in below image)

If you want to see the CSV data in XML check the Read Response Payload.

Completed. This way we can configure REST Trigger Endpoint to receive CSV data from Source System(Like WMS)

Opaque Schema in OIC

Schema ❓ In OIC Schema File (i.e. XML Schema) is used to define the structure of the file which is being used to store data.

Opaque Schema ❓Now suppose you are not sure about the structure of the File or you simply don't want to define the structure of the file then you can use the Opaque Schema.

You can use an opaque schema in a stage file action Read File or Write File operation without concern for a schema for the file. The only condition is that whatever is sent to the opaque element in the opaque schema must be base64-encoded data.

Save the below xml as opaqueschema.xsd file and then you can use it in the integration.

Schedule Parameters in OIC | Oracle Integration Cloud

Schedule parameters : ❓

are available across all scheduled runs of an integration and can be used to facilitate processing of data from one run to the next.

For example, when performing batch processing a schedule parameter can be used to track the current position of batched data between runs.

Schedule Parameters : 🌟Maximum 5 variables can be added.

Lets see how to declare a Schedule Parameters in OIC Scheduled Integration :

Step 1 : Create one Schedule Integration using below navigation :

Login to OIC Instance 🠊 Expand left hand side navigation menu 🠊Click Integration 🠊 again click Integration. Click Create. Select Scheduled Orchestration. Enter a meaningful name for the Integration and then click Create.

Step 2 : Now lets declare one Schedule Parameters for this integration :

Hover over the scheduler and then Click Edit 🖉.

Click '➕' and then enter a meaningful Parameter Name and then inside Value section enter default value for this Schedule Parameter. For this POC, I have declare Schedule Parameter to store timestamp value so I have enter timestamp value as default value.

Now this Parameter Value can be updated at anyplace in the downstream of the Integration flow. Last stored value of this parameter will be the current value of this parameter when the Integration will get submitted the next time (i.e. next run )

Check elements detail in HCM Cloud Application | HCM Cloud

In this article we will see the steps to find the configured Elements and its detail (like element input type etc. ) in any HCM Cloud Application Instance.

What are Elements in HCM Cloud Application❓

Elements are components that store data, identify formulas and hold rules for processing values. The payroll process uses elements to calculate pay. You can also use elements to record absences and to capture benefit details. Some elements are predefined. You can also create other elements to match your requirements.

Lets see the steps to get the elements detail in HCM Cloud Application :

Click Task icon and then click Search

Search for 'elements' and then select Elements

Now you can search for the element by simply entering the Element Name and Legislative Data Group. Once the search completed you can see the element in the search results, click on the respective element name to get the complete details of that element.
Please Note : If you do not find the element name in the search results, it means that particular element which you are searching is yet not configured in the HCM Cloud Application Instance. You need to connect to HCM Functional team to get that element configured.

Migrate Payroll Flows Pattern between Environments | Oracle HCM Cloud

In this article I have mentioned the steps to Import and Export the Payroll Flow Patterns from one HCM Cloud Application Instance to another HCM Cloud Application Instance.

I have motioned the steps for both Individual Flow Migration as well as Multiple Flow Migration.

Individual Flow Migration

If you just want to migrate single flow, you can follow the below steps :

Export Payroll Flow Steps :

Search for Payroll Flows in the search tasks box , select Payroll Flow Patterns row then click Actions icon 🠖 Select Export to CSV File 🠖click Create New

Note : Action Icon need to be enabled if it is not showing. Click on View🠖 click Columns🠖 Select Actions.

Click Add

Search the Flow Pattern which you want to export and then select LDG (if require in your case ) and then click search. Select the Flow Pattern in the search results , click Apply and click Save and Close

Click ok and then click Submit.

Confirmation message will be displayed. Click ok

Now to check the Export Status , again click on Actions 🠖click Export to csv File and then click Exporting setup data

Once the process completed successfully , click Download File. This way we have successfully exported the flow. Now you will see the steps to import this file in different environment.

Import Payroll Flow Steps: Now lets login to target environment where you want to import the above exported flow

Search for Payroll Flows Patterns, click actions ,select Import form csv File and then click Create New

Choose the file which we have exported

Click Submit and click ok for confirmation

To check the Import status, again click on Payroll Flow Patterns actions, click Import from CSV File, click Importing setup data.

Wait till the status is completed successfully.

This way we have successfully Migrated Payroll Flow from one HCM Cloud Application Instance to another Instance.

Multiple Flows Migration

Part 1 : Contain the steps to Export the Payroll Flows from Source Environment.

PART 1 : EXPORT PAYROLL FLOWS :

Export process contain two things , first we have to 'Create Implementation Project' and then using this implementation project we have to 'Create Configuration Package '. Lets see the steps in detail :

🖸 Create Implementation Project

Click on Manage Implementation Projects.

Click on ➕ to create a new Implementation Project.

Enter any meaningful Project Name inside section *Name. Click save and open project.

Click on ➕ to add Task to the implementation project.

Select ' Tasks ' in the search drop down menu list and in Name box enter 'Payroll Flow Patterns' and then click search button. Select the search result (Payroll Flow Patterns) and then click Apply and then click Done.

Task successfully got added in the implementation project. Click on Done button ( at top right ). The implementation project creation is completed.

🖸 Create Configuration Package

Now lets Create and Export the Configuration Package from the Source Environment :

Click on ‘Manage configuration Packages’.

Click on ➕ to create a new configuration Package

Select the Implementation Project which we have created above and then click Next.

Now we need to select the object for export. Select the Payroll Flow Definition from the list and then click on ➕ icon

Now search for the Payroll Flow Pattern which you want to migrate and once the search completed, select the flow and click on apply. Similarly add all the other flow which you want to migrate. Once all the flows are added , click Save and Close.

Click on Submit button ( top right ). Click Yes.

Export process will get started. Click on refresh 🔄 until the status is ‘Completed Successfully’.

Click on the download icon 🢃 and select ‘Download Configuration Package’.

One Note : It may complete with warning but still you can download it. Actually in one case I face the same issue but when I import it to target environment it worked without any issue. So you can go ahead even if some warning is coming.

Configuration Package ( as a zip file ) will get downloaded. Export is completed and the configuration package is ready for migration.

PART 2 : IMPORT PAYROLL FLOWS :

Now Lets Import the configuration Package (which we have exported above, the zip file) from our local machine to the Target Environment.

Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance area under the Others tab on the Home Page.

From the tasks list, select Manage Configuration Packages and click Upload.

Click Browse to search and select the Zip file previously exported onto your local computer.

Click Get Details and then Submit.

Click ok and then click Import Setup Data at the bottom of the page

Just click Next, Next & then click Submit

Wait till the import process completes successfully. Click on Refresh🔄 until the status changes to ‘Completed Successfully’.

This way we have Successfully Exported and Imported Payroll Flows from one environment to another. You can then use the Payroll Flow Patterns task and can search for the imported flow pattern. ✌

Schedule BI Publisher Report through OIC | Oracle Integration Cloud

In this article I have mentioned the steps to develop an Integration that can invoke "Schedule Report" operation and can check the status of submitted schedule report operation i.e. Job Status.

When to use Schedule Report & when to use run report operation ❓🤔

In laymen term , use 'Run Report' operation if report output size is <10 MB and use 'Schedule Report' if report content size is >10 MB. Run Report operation can provide the report output in the webservice response but Schedule Report will generate the report output in FTP , UCM etc. ( know as report bursting )

Lets develop the integration in two parts :

In Part 1 : we will see the development steps to invoke 'Schedule Report' operation and in Part 2 : we will see the development steps to check the Status of 'Schedule Report' operation.

Prerequisite : 'Schedule Service SOAP WSDL' Connection. Please access this link and create the connection. We will use the same connection while developing the integration below.

PART - 1 : Invoke Schedule Report Operation

Step 1 : Login to OIC Instance, click on Navigation Menu (top left) then click Integrations and then again click Integrations. Click on Create (top right) and select Scheduled Orchestration. Enter any meaningful name to the Integration.

Step 2 : Search for the Schedule Service Connection which we have created above in prerequisite section ( if you have not created it yet, you can access this link to create this connection ) and select it. Adapter endpoint configuration wizard will get opened :

Enter any meaningful name (ex - ScheduleBIReport ) for the endpoint and click Next

Select ScheduleReport operation from drop down list and then click Next

Header configuration not require for this POC , so leave it as it is , just click Next

Headers are optional elements that pass extra information about your application requirements. For Example, the header element can be used to specify digital signature for password protected services.

Adapter configuration completed. You can see the connection summary. Now click Done to close the configuration window.

Step 3 : Now open the mapper. Here we will pass the parameters name and its values that will be require to Schedule the Report.

Below Columns Mappings are require to invoke Schedule BI Report operation

Once the mapping completed, Click Validate and Close the mapping window.

PART - 2 : Schedule Report Job Status Check

Step 4 : Add Assign action to declare some variables.

Click '+' to declare Variable to store count (i.e. while loop count ). Enter any meaningful name to the variable then click Edit 🖉 and hardcode value '1' for the variable

Similar declare one more variable and initialize its value to '' (i.e. empty string) . You can take reference from below image. In this variable we will save 'GetSchedeuledReportStatus' operation response.

Step 5 : Add While Action. Enter any meaningful name.

Click 'Expression Mode' and write the below expression. The while loop will keep running till the time below expression is true. ( Take reference from below image )

Step 6 : In this step we will invoke 'getScheduledReportStatus' operation to get the status of the 'Schedule Report' operation (which we configured in PART 1, above).

Again search for the Schedule Report Service connection which we have created above in prerequisite section ( if you have not created it yet, you can access this link to create this connection ) and Select it.

Adapter configuration window will get opened, enter any meaningful name and click Next

Select 'getScheduledReportStatus' and click Next

Header configuration is not require for this POC, just click Next.

Adapter configuration completed. Click Done.

Step 7 : Open the mapper and map the 'ScheduleReportResponse' to 'ScheduledJobId' along with SaaS application credentials. ( take reference from below image )

Step 8 : Now add one more assign activity in which we will Increase the counter variable value and assign the 'GetScheduledReportStatus' operation response to the variable.

Select the counter variable from drop down list, click Edit🖉 and increase the variable value by '1'. Note : Make sure to use Integer function, Take reference from below image .

Similarly select the another variable, click Edit🖉 and the map the *jobStatus element of 'GetScheduledReportStatus' Response.

Click Validate and then click Close

Step 9 : Add Wait activity for 30 seconds inside While Loop. So that status check call happen after certain interval of time only otherwise While loop keep invoking status check operation continuously, which is not a correct practice.

Step 10 : Enable Tracking for the Integration.

Step 11 : Save and close the Integration window. Activate the integration. Your have successfully develop an Integration to Schedule BI Report and can check its status.

Create Schedule Service SOAP Connection | Oracle Integration Cloud

In this article I have mentioned the steps to Create Schedule Service SOAP Connection that can be use to Schedule BI Publisher Report through OIC.

Login to OIC Instance. Navigate to Connections window, Click on Create button (top right) and then Search for SOAP Adapter. Select SOAP adapter and click Select button.

Enter any meaningful name for the connection and then click create

Enter the below details and then Click Test and then click Save :

Subscribe to HCM Updates ( via ATOM Feed ) | Oracle Integration Cloud

In this Article I have tried to explain HCM Atom Feeds and also have develop one end to end Integration to let you know how you can subscribe to changes made to feed-enabled resources in Oracle HCM Cloud through OIC Integration.

What are Atom Feeds ?

HCM Atom Feeds offer a real time mechanism to subscribe to changes in the application
Atom feeds enable you to track changes made to feed-enabled resources in Oracle Global Human Resources Cloud
For any updates of interest to downstream applications such as new hires, terminations, employee transfers, and promotions, Oracle Global Human Resources Cloud publishes Atom feeds.
Oracle Global Human Resources Cloud currently supports creation of Atom feeds for the employees and work structures resources in the following scenarios:

When an employee is hired, updated, or terminated
When an assignment is created, updated, or end dated
When any of the following work structures is created, updated, or end dated.

Grades
Jobs
Locations
Organizations
Positions

Use Case : Lets develop one Scheduled Integration which can get the Employee update details ( for ex : if employee email got updated ) via ATOM Feed and can write the Employee Update details as a file in the FTP Server.

Prerequisite : Make sure that you have the below connections available in your OIC Instance. We need both connections while developing the Integration.

HCM Adapter Connection (can access this link to see the configuration steps)
FTP Adapter Connection (can access this link to see the configuration steps)

NOTE : !

HCM Atom Feeds : Can use this feature only as an Schedule Integration (invoke),not as an App Driven Integration (Trigger).

Step 1: Create one Schedule Integration.

Step 2 : Search for the HCM connection and select it. Endpoint configuration window will get open.

Enter any meaningful name for the endpoint and click Next.

Select Subscribe to Updates (via ATOM feed ). Click Next

Select 'Employee Update' Atom feed and leave max entries to process as 10 and then click Next.

Max Entries to process List?: This sets the value of the page-size query parameter that is sent as part of the request to the Atom server to get the feed. The Atom feed size is limited by this number. The recommendation is to use a small number for this option and have the integration execute more frequently.

Knowledge :  👀 

What does "Process Future Dated Entries Immediately" means?: This option allows users to process future-dated entries from HCM Cloud immediately, instead of processing them only when they become effective. Integration Flow that is subscribing to a feed with this option selected will receive the future dated entries along with currently effective entries. The integration flow is responsible for handling yet to be effective future dated entries. Leave this option unchecked if you want the future dated entries to be processed when they become effective.

HCM endpoint configuration is completed. Click Done.

Step 3 : Now to read the Response of the 'Employee Update' Atom Feed we need to configure two For Each action.

Search for the For Each action and select it.

Enter the below details :

Name : enter any meaningful name
Repeating Elements : drag and drop repeating parent element from the Employee Update Response (take reference from below image)
Current Element Name : enter any meaningful name and then click Create

Step 4 : Now we need to add one child For Each inside the above configured For Each action. So that we can iterate over the Current Element Name (configured in above for each action)

Search for the For Each action and add it inside above configured For Each action

Just like above For Each action, configured the below details.

Name : enter any meaningful name
Repeating Elements : drag and drop the Current Element Name which we have configured in above For Each Action (take reference from below image)
Current Element Name : enter any meaningful name and then click Create

Step 5 : Lets configure FTP to write the Update Employee Atom Feed response in the FTP directory.

FTP Adapter ?: Using the FTP Adapter, Oracle Integration Cloud Service can retrieve files for processing in Oracle Integration Cloud Service and upload files and messages from Oracle Integration Cloud Service to a directory on a remote FTP server.

Search for the FTP connection and select it.

Enter any meaningful name for the endpoint and click Next

Configure the below operations :

*Select Operation : Write File
*Select a Transfer mode : Binary
*Output Directory : here you need to provide the FTP directory path where you want to write the file
*File Name Pattern : here you need to provide the name with which file will get generated in FTP (ex : EmployeeUpdate%SEQ%.csv) and then click Next

Select Sample Delimited document (e.g. csv) to define the content of the file and click Next

Now in this configuration wizard window we need to provide the details to create the Schema from a sample CSV file. Copy the below line and save it as .csv file in your computer (ex: UpdateEmployee.csv)

Lets Configure schema using the above saved .csv file. Browse the file and enter the other details as shown in below image and then click Next

Configuration of FTP is done. Click Done.

Step 6 : Now we need to create one Schedule Parameter, which will actually be the Input Parameter of the Invoke HCM ATOM FEED. This Parameter will store the Timestamp value. This value will get updated after every run of the Integration. This enables new updates to be processed every time and prevents the same update from being processed multiple times.

Click on Edit icon 🖉of the Scheduler

Declare one variable and pass sample timestamp value (take reference from below image).

In the request mapper between the schedule and the Oracle HCM Cloud Adapter, map the above scheduled parameter (timestamp value) to Updated-min. Click Validate and Close the mapper.

NOTE : !

The Oracle HCM Cloud Adapter sends the updated-min query parameter to the Atom server when requesting a feed. The Atom server returns a feed with updated entries occurring after newer updates to the timestamp value. This enables new updates to be processed every time and prevents the same update from being processed multiple times.

Step 7 : Now we need to complete the Mapping of the FTP. Open the FTP mapper and complete the mapping as shown in below image and then click validate and close the mapper

Step 8 :Add one Assign activity to update the Scheduled Parameter Variable value (timestamp value)

Enter any meaningful name and click create.

Select the scheduled parameters variable from the drop down list and then click on edit icon 🖉

Drag and drop updated timestamp element from then employee update response (as shown in below image). Click validate and close.

Step 9 : Enable the Tracking Variable for the Integration (as shown in below image)

Integration development completed. Click Save and Close the window.

TESTING :

Activate and Submit the Integration. You can enter New Value ( timestamp ) for the schedule parameter or just submit the flow with the default value that is already present.

Open your respective Output FTP directory which you have passed above in Step 5. You can see the file got generated in the Directory with the details of the changed Attributes of the employees.

Open any file, you can see the Details (like Employee Id, Employee Number, Attributes Name for which value get updated and its new value and old value as well )

Click Create (Top Left ), Search for HCM Adapter. Select it and then click Create. Enter any meaningful name for the connection, leave the other fields as it is and click Create.

Enter the below details, click Save and then click Test

Security : Enter yours HCM cloud user credentials

Get Report Parameters | Oracle Integration Cloud

You can get the Report Parameters by selecting 'getReportParameters' operations of the Standard SOAP WSDL (ExternalReportWSSService)

Lets see the complete steps to get Report Parameters by doing one POC :

Steps Overview :

Create SOAP Connection using 'ExternalReportWSSService' WSDL
Then Create a schedule integration using the above SOAP Connection inside which configure the SOAP Adapter to get Report Parameters

Create Connection :

Login to OIC Instance. Click top left Hamburger sign (i.e. Menu icon) , Click Integrations and then Click Connections. Click Create (at top right) and then search SOAP Adapter. Select it. Give any meaningful name to the connection. Click Create

Enter the ExternalReportWSSService WSDL URL. Below is the sample URL

https://<HCM Host Name>/xmlpserver/services/ExternalReportWSSService?WSDL

Enter the HCM User Credentials in the Security section. Click Save. Click Test. Connection is ready to use in Integration

Create Integration :

STEP 1: Loin to OIC instance, Click the hamburger sign ,Navigate to Integrations, select Integrations. Create a Schedule Integration by clicking Create (top right)

STEP 2 : Search for the SOAP Connection (ExternalReportWSSService) which we have created above and select it.

Give adapter endpoint any meaningful name. Click Next

Select operation "getReportParameters' and click Next

Leave this window as it is , just click Next

Click Done. Adapter configuration completed.

STEP 3 : Open the mapper. Lets complete the required mapping.

Pass your Report Absolute path in the attribute name reportAbsolutePath*

Hardcode "-1" in the attribute sizeOfDataChunkDownload. That's it. Mapping completed. With these two mappings only you can get Report Parameters Name in response.

STEP 4: Enable Tracking for the Integration.

Map the tracking and click Save.

Integration is ready to test. Click Save and Close.

STEP 5 : TESTING : Activate the Integration and Run it.

Navigate to the Integration Monitoring window and then check the Activity Stream. You can clearly see the REPORT PARAMETER NAMES in the response payload. You can use this response further in the downstream flow of the integration.

Worker REST API of Oracle HCM Cloud | Create, Get & Update a Worker

In this post I have tried to explain how we can use Create, Get & Update Worker REST API of HCM cloud with one simple example.

You can use Oracle HCM REST APIs to view and manage data stored in Oracle HCM Application Cloud and can be used as a bridge between external applications and oracle HCM Cloud.

Article Overview :

1. Will create one worker by invoking Create Worker API

2. after that will get the same worker detail which we created above by invoking Get Worker API

3. and at the last will update the same worker detail by invoking Update Worker API

Create a Worker

POST

Open SoapUI Tool (you can download it from internet). Click on REST icon.

SoapUI Tool : SoapUI is an open-source web service testing application for Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and representational state transfers (REST)

Paste the Create Worker REST API URI. Below is a sample format of Worker REST API URI and then click OK.

Select Method ='POST' and then add Basic Authorization i.e. Enter user credentials of your HCM Cloud Environment. [check below image for your reference]

For Create Worker operation we need to pass Headers. So lets configure the Headers. Click on ➕ icon

Paste Effective-Of and then click okay.

In the value column , paste RangeStartDate=2000-01-01

Below is the JSON Payload with minimum columns that need to pass to Create a Worker.

Please Note : LegalEmployerName ,BusinessUnitName and LegislationCode, these element value are application specific. You can't use the same which I have used. So update their value in the JSON payload according to your HCM application and then Paste the payload in SoapUI .

After pasting the payload, click Run ➤ . You can see the message in the Response window : 201 Created. Worker Created successfully in the HCM cloud application. Please Note : Copy the Person Number value which you get in he SoapUI response window and save it. We need it later in this article during Get & Update API call.

Lets fetch the same worker details which we have created above using Create Worker API.

Create a new REST Project and paste the below URI

https://<your HCM domain name>/hcmRestApi/resources/11.13.18.05/workers

Add the Basic Authentication same as we did above (in Create Operation). Select HTTPS Method : Get and then Click on ➕ icon and add below query parameter because we just need detail of the worker whose Person Number is '100216' (this is the same person number which I have copied above from Create Worker Response Payload)

Name : q
Value : PersonNumber='100216' (Note : in my case it is 100216, you have to enter value which get generated in your case during Create Worker API Call)

If we don't pass any query parameter , we will get all worker details in the response payload.
To decrease the size of the resulting payload, specify which attributes should be returned by using the fields parameters : GET

Click Run ➤ and then click JSON tab to see the response payload.

If you want to see the complete details of the worker i.e. its child elements also, then we need to add one more parameter. We have to add 'expand:all' parameter Then click run button ➤

You can see in above image, this time we get all the child elements also in the response payload. This way we have successfully tested GET Operation. Now do one thing expand the addresses element and copy 'href' URL from its links. We need this later for UPDATE operation.

Self Link (i.e href url used above) is used to get access to a specific resource. You can use Self Link to get specific attributes of a child resource

Update a worker

Now lets try to update the same worker details which we have created above (i.e. Person Number : '100216') using UPDATE WORKER API. Lets Update its Addresses - "AddressLine1" value. Currently its value is " Near Red Ford " (check below image ), will update it to "Near India Gate"

Create a new REST API Project and Paste the copied 'href' url (address element href) which we have copied above from Get operation Response payload. So now you can ask - why that specific address href ?? 🤔Because our requirement is to update Addresses Element Value. So we need Addresses href. If your equiremnt is to Update Name, you need to use Name Href URL for update.

To Exclude all links from the response payload , you can use onlyData parameter. It can help you to reduce the size of retrieved message :

Add the basic authorization and select HTTP method as "PATCH"

For Update operation we need to pass Headers. So lets configure the Headers. Click on ➕ icon and Paste 'REST-Framework-Version' and click ok

Now enter 4 as its value.

Similarly add the below two headers and its value (take reference from from below image)

Header : Effective-Of

Value : RangeMode=UPDATE;RangeStartDate=2020-01-01;RangeEndDate=4712-12-31

Header : Content-Type

Value : application/vnd.oracle.adf.resourceitem+json

After that lets pass the data which we want to update. In my case I am updating AddressLine1 of Addresses. So lets passes the Updated value (as below) in the payload and then click run ➤

You can clearly see the Update is successful. AddressLine1 value updated to "Near India Gate" which was " Near Read Fort" earlier.

To cross check the Address got updated or Not, you can run the Get Worker API for the same worker again and check the AddressLine1 Value 😀

Steps to fetch Oracle Cloud SaaS Application Certificates | Oracle Integration Cloud

In this Article I have mentioned the steps to fetch external services certificates (ex - Oracle Cloud SaaS Application ) which we can import to OIC instance. Certificate enables Oracle Integration to connect with external services.

Certificates are used to validate outbound SSL connections. If you make an SSL connection in which the root certificate does not exist in oracle integration, an Exception is thrown. In that case you must upload the appropriate certificate. A certificate enables Oracle Integration to connect with external services. If the external endpoint requires a specific certificate, request the certificate and then upload it into oracle integration.

Lets see the steps in details :

Step 1 : Open the Oracle Cloud SaaS Application( ex - OTM, HCM etc. ) URL in browser. Then click on the Lock Icon 🔓

Step 2 : Select '🔓 Connection is Secure'

Step 3 : Now click ' 📄Certificate is Valid'

Step 4 : Click on 'Certification Path'

Step 5 : Now please note we need to download the first 2 certification path i.e. DigiCert Global Root G2 & DigiCert Global G2 TLS RSA ...

Lets first download DigiCert Global Root G2 :

Select "🗟 DigiCert Global Root "and then click View Certificate

Click on Details tab and then click Copy to File

Click Next

Select Base 64 encoded X.509 (.CER) and then click Next

Now select any folder where you want to save the certificate file

Enter any Name with which you want to save the certificate file (ex - OTM Root Certificate )

Click Next

Click Finish

You can see the pop up window with message "The Export was Successful ". This way you can download any Oracle Cloud SaaS application certificate.

If you open the folder where you have saved the certificate in above step, you can see a new file with the name given got generated.

Step 6 : Now Similarly by following Step 4 , download the other certificate "DigiCert Global G2 TLS RSA ..."

This way you can download both the certificates which you can upload to OIC instance.

Integration to upload file to the UCM Server in HCM Cloud | Oracle Integration Cloud

In this article we will see the steps to configure HCM cloud adapter in an Integration to Upload files to the Universal Content Management (UCM) or simply 'content server' in HCM Cloud.

PART 1 : Create HCM Adapter Connection :

Configure the connection using HCM Cloud Host name & Username Password Token Security policy (as shown in below image )

PART 2 : HCM Adapter Configuration :

Now Lets see the steps to configure the HCM adapter & it's mappings in an Integration flow to upload file to UCM Server in HCM cloud.

Search for the connection which has been created above 'Part 1'. Give any meaningful name (ex :- UploadFileToUCM ) and then click Next.

Select 'Send File to HCM Cloud' and click Next

Send File to HCM Cloud : Please note this will only upload the files and not perform any additional operation on the file like Import Bulk Data using HDL option..

Now select the File Upload Parameters as suggested below and click Next :

*Security Group : FAFusionImportExport
*Doc Account : hcm$/dataloader$/import$

Adapter Configuration Completed. Click Done

Now open the Mapper to complete the mappings. Click on edit icon 🖉 :

Complete the Mappings as given below :

Doc Title → Pass File Name (with this name file will get generated in UCM server)
Security Group → enter "FAFusionImportExport"
Doc Account → enter "hcm$/dataloader$/import$"
File Reference → Map the File reference (file which you want to upload to UCM server)

That's it. Configuration to upload file in UCM server in HCM cloud completed. When you run this configuration in any Integration you will get Process Id in response, which you can use to search uploaded file in UCM server in HCM cloud.

Steps to check File uploaded to the UCM Server in HCM Cloud :

Login to UCM Content server , UCM URL : https://<saas domain >/cs (example : https://eiiv-dev14.fa.us6.oraclecloud.com/cs )

Click on search button. You can see the file recently got uploaded or you can also search using the Process Id which you received as response in above Integration.
