To all of the amazing Volunteers throughout this event, OK Humane appreciates you more than you can ever know! There is no way we could have done this event without each and every one of you. Thank you so much for your dedication to the cause, watching the contestants through rain or shine, and answering all the questions that people had about the event and the reason behind it.

A special shout-out to all of our overnight volunteers, you are the only reason I got any sleep at all through this event!

3 hours left and I am chomping at the bit to be anywhere but within a 20-yard radius of where I am now! I didn’t know we’d have a blog today. So mostly I wrapped it up yesterday. I write more in depth about the experience later, but without the 20 minutes time constraint. Not to mention a keyboard instead of tired fingers and a flimsy notepad. I have about filled this ledger up with my rambling, only a few pages left. Thanks again for reading and everyone should myspace friend me or add me on facebook. myspace.com/neverbeenwitty

It’s starting to rain again which shouldn’t surprise me seeing as how that’s been the dish all week. I’m more mentally exasperated than physically tired. I’m actually surprised at how good I do feel in spite of sleeping on plywood in the middle of downtown in September. I would ask for more votes but by the time this hits the interwebs it’ll be all but moot anyway. All my mind can really even think about is shower. Everything is a distant second. I really have no idea how this is going to turn out, but I’m not getting my hopes up. Thanks for coming out last night, mom, dad, Mike, Kaylee, Josh and Sarah. This has been an intense week and we’ve done a lot of good, and now that it’s at its close, it has still been worth it. Most of the time, it felt like it never ends, and with 3 hours to go, it still feels that way. I never got to proofread any of my blogs have been incoherent. I always wrote til they took it from my hands. Once more, a big thanks to everyone for putting this on and all the supporters. Thanks to KJ103 for being our free marketing team and a special thanks to everyone that voted for yours truly. I’ll see everyone outside at the gate.

With deep regard,

John

AUM: …ode…to a very merry un-birthday! …heard rumors of Ms Aprilhelen coming my way! …feels like a brand new life … social responsibility shall be my wife … heightened fire for many a cause will stay, & stay, & stay … }*{ … aaauuummm …

aprilhelen loves. Cheers to all … those on the chains that will be removed … those who will learn not not all kinds of laws the hold responsibility on a pedestal.

So all the contestants, thank you, many blessings be yours …

Ms Felony, of all the stories i’ve followed this week, yours is the most deserving of this win.

Mr Bear, as you even said so yourself the first day we met, i liked you from the moment i shared that table @ orientation. (quitting smoking … good for you!)

Mr Butch Sassidy, energetically, you have great value to me & i so look forward to sharing a practice (of some kind?) with you, your care shines through & i am your mirror.

Mr Puck, thanks for the laughter, silent laughter that is … for keeping the entertainment steady with your amusement as you amuse yourself.

Ms Beast, i liked the mere face that you admitted your lack of care from the very beginning … & to watch & listen to you evolve in seemingly long, yet short, week.

Ms Princess, Mr Walker ~ good for you & what you do for the stimulation of continuing awareness of any kind on this planet.

Voters, family, friends, students, fans, community, … the world …

think before you speak … be thankful for the challenges … dowse yourself with daily praise … be of service to your fellows

aum

3 hours left… voting is over… big sigh of relief. I really don’t know where to start. I have learned so much throughout this experience. I have learned that activism isn’t a bad word, it is a responsibility we all have to make our world a better place. I have learned the importance of family and friends. I am so blessed to have such an amazing group of people in my life. Spend the day with us, Sally Kern, and you’ll find we are not terrorists. I have learned how many selfless people there are out there. Thank you so much to the Central OK Humane Society staff and volunteers. Your dedication to this event, this cause, and animal rights is awesome. If you need help with anything, I will do what I can. I have learned there is still so much left to be done. We have evolved a voice to use it. Speak up for those that can’t. Be responsible with it and make a difference. I have learned that we can endure a lot more than we think. Pushing yourself isn’t a bad thing. Things grow when under stress… that includes our character. I have learned the amount of love one can possess is unlimited. Don’t be afraid to love in all aspects of your lives… and don’t be afraid to let people know they are loved.

This event has made me a better person. I am so blessed that it has. I am excited to see how I… and my family… will continue to grow because of it. Thank you everyone for the journey.

I was hoping to go out tonight and meet with everyone. I don’t know if something has been organized yet or not. Friend request me on facebook and I will update everyone… Butch Sassidy is really Terry Lea. I guess that is it. I love you guys. Thanks for the support throughout this adventure… trust me, there are more to come.

Well the way I understand it this will be my last Blog, In this I would like to thank everybody that voted for me and worked so hard to get me votes. I still don’t know the outcome of the contest yet, but who cares at least I have come away with a new understanding, of my mind and body. 8 days without talking or communicating with the exception of getting water gives a person alot to think about. Nobody came to see me yesterday except my guitar buddy, I guess my family just forgot. Oh well, I guess thats what happens to dogs when they get chained, forgotten about. but w/me I am getting unchained today, but for a lot of those little pups and dogs, they will never be unchained and I still say thats just not right. So whoever wins the car “congrats” whoever don’t well all the contestants will remain close and dear friends to me. And Thank you everybody for letting me in on this adventure. Thanx to all,

Blog 13 9-18-09 3 PM

Top Five Things I Love About This Challenge

1) The beautiful landscaping around the canal. Who knew we had such lovely flora outside the crystal bridge.

2) The weather. I am an amazing radiator of heat . . . and not just due to my good looks. If it had become any hotter, I would have been a sweaty funky mess.

3) The passerbys. Trust me if you think we look ridiculous, you should see what passes by.

4) The food. It has been heavy at times and the portapotty is a little worse for the wear, but it has been tasty.

5) The Cause. This cause has really motivated me to become more active for my family and community. After being gawked at for seven days like a caged animal, zoo’s might be my next target.

Five Things I Hate about this challenge

1) The stink bugs. These smarmy little creatures are horrible . . . trust me, they do not go well with the whole grain goodness of cheerios either.

2) The shrill voice of the lady at Coyote Ugly. Enough said.

3) Mexican food twice in one day. Again . . . enough said.

4) Fanny packs and Affliction shirts. Like I said before, please save the fanny packs for the fair. And attention all straight guys . . . Affliction is out. You should have spent the extra 30 bucks for an Ed Hardy one.

5) Portapottys. Although a necessity. I have grown to hate things you poop in, but can’t flush.

(I also hate dog chaining and those that do it, but I think my staying out here seven days proves that.)

This is the last blog before voting is over. Keep it up and lets finish strong. I can’t wait to read everyones responses to my blogs . . . as well as the other contestant’s. Team Sassidy, you guys are my heros. I am so excited to see everyone. Vote on time today per IP address, and make sure and get up early and vote one more time per IP address tomorrow morning. You can vote from 6 AM – 9 AM tomorrow morning. So set your alarms! Everyone come down at noon tomorrow! As usual . . . I love you guys!

AUM: i just know aprilhelen will be here soon, i feel it … won’t she … where is this feeling coming from an why do we have to be all chained up … the other dogs look lost too … What is this? this torment is worsening daily … my belly aches, i’m beginning to loose positivity – all these people who stare cannot even help {sigh, sit, lay, sighhhhh…}

aprilhelen can imagine the perfect day for Sept 19, 2010 & shall meditate on it’s manifestation without attachment to expectation. Morning practice w/ a smile … crowds gather … celebration begins with heavy chains lifted as my friends salute the effort.

Each of us win a car for making this genuine care of a point that has brought attention to chained, neglected animals! TAP, Jordan & assoc., & Flintco ask if i want to store a yoga box, aka dog coop, @ art of yoga for my continued use & pleasure.

We dismiss to harrry H’s party boat @ Lake Hefner (my beautiful Ms Sandy can certainly arrange!) <of course this is after all contestants meet Aubrey McClendon @ Honda dealership to sign papers!!!>

The celebration ends w/ a gorgeous sunset w/ oysters, sushi, mac N chz, & champagne & dancing to band that’s on the land nearby … LOVE IT !!!

The day shall end w/ a delightful jacuzzi tub (?) & a nice comfy bed (?) <Ms Sarinda you said something of hotel room >

Bliss will remain. Devotion to spreading the love of kindness to all creatures will endure!

P.S. if that scenerio if not on the cosmic books … Robby, please, bring me my scooter … someone call him & greatly request this!!!

Too Fun!!!

I think all of us in this challenge have gone bonkers to one degree or another. I have to laugh at myself because I’ve developed a couple of behavior quirks of my own:

—If I’m in my doghouse and I hear a noise around the corner that I need to investigate, I’ll do the dog look-around-the-corner-with-one-eye thing.

— All of us competitors know when lunch and dinner will be served. So when it gets to be around that time and I see two walking toward the restaurants. I immediately go in my doghouse, turn around and stick my head out the door waiting to be fed.

— And I guess this inmate uniform I’m wearing rubbed off on me a little too because I found myself stashing stuff in my doghouse like a seasoned convict. If I had a knife at lunch that I didn’t use, I saved it in case I needed it for dinner. I hoarded napkins and the toothpicks out of my club sandwiches. And I figured out pretty quick that a leftover fork made a pretty decent hair comb. I even tried to rathole eight croutons off my salad from a midnight snack. Unfortunately, I promptly sat on them and saw no real purpose in stashing crouton dust.

- – - – - – - – - – - – - -

THANK YOU to everybody who supported me before and during this challenge. The list is long and I won’t name names because I would sincerely regret forgetting somebody. R.G. – you know you’re at the top of that list and every other list in my life. I also know that several people I’ve never met bought me “luxury items” during the challenge. I hope that the organizers of this event will release your names to me so I can properly thank you. And “thank you” Sheriff Whetsel for rallying the troops and allowing me to participate in this incredible event.

As for me, I’m a puddle of indecision. I can’t decide if my first drink out of here will be a Starbucks white chocolate mocha or a Rolling Rock beer. Either way, you can bet it won’t be water.
