Event Overview

Rally To Prevent Human Trafficking

Breaking Chains at the OKLAHOMA FREEDOM RALLY event is a fun way to support OATH while raising awareness. Live music starts at 4:00 pm with Edmond band “At Long Last”, then at 5:00 pm special speakers take the stage to give out prizes and information. Chong Kim will be on hand to tell her own story of sex trafficking and Christina Fallin-Bacon will kick off our “Breaking Chains” event. At 6:00 pm a Tulsa band “Till Metro” will take the stage and rock us out to end the rally.

Register today to get your event t-shirt; send out emails to friends and family to ask for donations; build a Facebook invite page for your event and link it to OATH. Be sure to wear chains (plastic or real) to the event symbolizing the fact that modern slaves are still a problem in the world today.

Human trafficking happens every day, right here in the USA and around the world. Vulnerable individuals are abducted, enticed or coerced into situations where they become exploited in debt bondage or the sex industry. You have probably seen a victim of trafficking working at a restaurant or hotel, in a nail salon or massage parlor, or being sold online for sexual services and did not recognize the control issues, because they are often hidden in plain sight.

Motorcycle Poker Run participants from three cities arrive from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. 

Oklahoma Freedom Rally Registration Opens

Registration opens at 3:30 pm – Suggested $5 donation if you are not registered in one of the OATH events. 

 

Live Music Starts

Live music starts at 4:00 pm with Edmond band “At Long Last”, opened for Greyson Chance recently. 

Oklahoma Freedom Rally Begins

OKLAHOMA FREEDOM RALLY begins at 5:00 pm:
  • Special speakers / live DJ from KJ-103 on hand
  • High School dance team
  • Breaking Chains Ceremony by GovernorFallin’s daughter – Christina Fallin-Bacon (Oklahoma’s own “Lady Gaga”)
  • Sex Trafficking survivor, Chong Kim telling here own story of being trafficked in Oklahoma (Chong’s story being made into movie)

Live Music After Oklahoma Freedom Rally

Live music at 6:00 pm from Tulsa band “Till Metro” – lead singer Brooklyn 13 year old lead singer recently interviewed on KMOD; new up and coming band leaving on nationwide tour 2012.

Breaking Chains at Bricktown Run/Walk Registration

Registration/check-in opens 6:00 pm at the Regatta Park pavilion, just North of the Chesapeake Boathouse.

After Party Begins

After party upstairs at the Bricktown Brewery with live music from country/rock band “Tulsa Cold Case” and Oklahoma survivor of child sex trafficking will tell her own story at 8pm.

Breaking Chains at Bricktown Run/Walk Begins

Twilight 5K Fun Run/Walk begins 7:00pm going out and back along the river-front trails.  The event is finished at 8pm. 

Runners and Walkers, Join Us At The After Party

Registration is now open for the Oklahoma Freedom Rally in Bricktown on the evening of Sept. 10, 2011.  Everyone is invited, and registration is not required, but registering allows you to raise funds and spread the word prior to the event.  Plus you have the option of getting a t-shirt after fundraising a certain amount.

If you have registered already for an event, you’re already good to come.  Please don’t register twice.

The stops for this year’s fun poker run and walk at “Breaking Chains and Brookside” have been set.  All walkers and runners will receive a poker form so they can travel to 5 stops along the route and draw a card for their poker hand.  Participants with the best poker hands will win prizes at the chain-breaking ceremony.
