So excited to see the crest I designed for Triumph Motorcycles being used across a whole range of clothing and merchandise on the Triumph website.

You can find it on everything from a watch to polo shirts and helmet bags, there’s even a mug.

I was over the moon when Triumph asked me to design a crest to celebrate 110 years of motorcycle production. The plan was to use it on a limited edition Triumph Bonneville T100 with a custom colour scheme inspired by the livery of their first motorcycle from way back in 1902. With only 1000 of the bikes being produced I was thrilled to get the opportunity to work on a project that would become part of the history of this iconic British brand.

The brief was to take the original Triumph tank badges, of which there were several designs over the years, and combine and update them into a new design fit for a modern audience. I created a range of solutions that went from subtle evolutions of the original right through to far more modern interpretations. After lots of discussion with the design team at Triumph we decided that the best route was to keep the design close to the original crest to maintain a sense of heritage.

The main shape is inspired by the very first Triumph crest but also includes nods to other early designs. I tried to incorporate several references to the history of the company such as the three circles that represent the three main factory locations, Coventry, Meriden and Hinckley and the crown that features the classic Triumph triangle as seen on most of their bikes.

As well as the limited edition motorcycle, Triumph are also rolling out the crest across a whole range of commemorative merchandise from jackets, to bags, and even a watch limited to just 110 copies. I can’t wait to see the finished bike out on the street, though with such a limited number of them being produced I might have to wait a while.

The Mulberry Tree pub in Ipswich has recently undergone a renovation. It was previously known as the Beer House but the new owner was keen to return to the original name, something I definitely agree with!

They plan to sell a wide variety of ales and wanted the logo to have a country pub feel. Note the subtle ‘M’ in the trunk of the tree too.

Enviro-Green Technology is a new startup company selling all manor of environmental technologies, from solar, to wind, to thermal heat pumps. They came to me to design their logo and stationery.

The leaf marque is designed symbolise energy, the wind, the suns rays and of course the environment.

Kelly and Richard wanted a relaxed, reportage style, to their wedding photography. I was only too happy to oblige!

The whole day was captured with very few posed photographs allow the couple to really focus on enjoying their day rather than spending hours in line-ups. They are such a fun couple and I think the spirit of the day really shows in the pictures.

The wedding was at Dumbleton Hall in the Coteswolds, a lovely venue for a wedding, and a great backdrop for the wedding photography!

It’s that time of year again, yes it’s the East Bergholt Pram race 2011!

This was our entry, a 4.5 metre great white shark made entirely from scratch by our team in my garage. If you’re not familiar with the race it involves a run around the village of East Bergholt with the lucky person in the pram consuming half a pint of beer at each of the five pubs. Normally that’s not too much of a challenge, but this year our poor friend James was drinking while lying upside-down on his back in the belly of the beast.

Things got worse for him when the prams structure finally gave out 100 metres from the finish line, nose-diving the front of the shark into the ground. Luckily he survived and we able to limp over the finish line.

Sadly we didn’t retain our fancy dress crown this year, the prize went to Charlie’s Angels, but fear not we will be back next year with something better, but probably not bigger.

Ps. If you’re wondering, yes, it is a fake leg!

The Old Rectory in Suffolk asked me to photograph their stunning B&B for their new website. Set in the Suffolk countryside, this boutique hideaway has a lot going for it; beautiful grounds, luxurious rooms and wonderful furniture collected by it’s owners from places as far flung as China.

It’s already got a reputation as being up there with some of the best 5 star hotels in the region so I wanted the photography to really show it off.

I’ve got so many favourite images from this shoot that I struggled to edit it down for this post! We shot the whole thing in just six hours of non-stop photography, resulting in over 200 images for the client. Intense!
