Zohran Mamdani just made DoorDash cough up $131.5 million for stiffing more than 260,000 New York City delivery workers who were underpaid, paid late or not paid at all between 2022 and this past June. It’s the biggest worker settlement in NYC history and the largest ever for food delivery workers in the US.

More than $115 million goes straight to the deliveristas, who’ll get back roughly DOUBLE what they were shorted (some up to $5,000), with payments starting in late October. DoorDash also has to hand the city its pay data every month for the next three years, so someone can finally check the math.DoorDash’s own statement opens with “Simply put, we screwed up.”

Yeah NO SHIT! Do you think anyone’s gonna want to use DoorDash after this? Every city needs a Mamdani. Not all heroes wear capes.

The figure is pulled straight off his Blue Electric Light Tour: bronze mesh cowl-neck tank, bootcut jeans, studded belt, boots, sunglasses, locs, nose ring. The tattoos made it in too, including the portrait of his late mother Roxie Roker on his forearm, alongside a recreation of her necklace and his own vintage shades. The Dolly Parton estate and Integrity Toys haven’t waited a MINUTE in launching the first three “Dolly Dolls,” a set of collector figures Dolly herself worked on for over a year before her passing in August.

Each 12-inch doll is modeled on a real look from her personal fashion archive, tied to her new Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville, with makeup matched to her Dolly Beauty line. The trio: Dreamin’ in Gingham (limited to 2,000, $165, comes with a custom rhinestone guitar), World on Fire (2,000, $175, based on her 2023 ACM Awards fit with a removable world-map overskirt), and Diamond in a Rhinestone World. In a note printed right on the packaging, Dolly connected them back to the corn-cob doll her mama made her as a girl, the one that inspired her very first song.

LOVE Kate. She’s bringing her solo special Parmesan to HBO Max. Her first special, the Bo Burnham-directed Cinnamon in the Wind, was shot at UCB in 2019 and then sat on a shelf for three years before FX finally let it out on Hulu.

Since then she’s toured her one-woman show Kate from New York to London’s Soho Theatre, and she and Jacqueline Novak snagged back the rights to Poog so they could relaunch it under its original name. Somebody get this woman a nap!
