The last few months have changed the world as we know it, the ground underneath has shifted. With the exhibition industry being largely hit by the pandemic of Covid-19, the Indian Publishing Industry has suffered a loss of over 3,000 crores during the lockdown. However, as the saying goes, “everything that doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger”, and the challenges of Covid-19 are no different.

While we along with everyone are thinking about the impact of this pandemic as individuals and as the entire humanity, we also narrowed our focus as digital marketeers while evaluating this. For years we have promoted physical events with a pitch saying a few hundred or low thousands attend an event, but many multiples can get influenced digitally.

This made us at OMLogic use our expertise in digital and come up with the idea of pragatiE- A unique platform for hosting events digitally. PragatiE has developed a world class online solution which brings together the entire exhibition ecosystem. It is a platform which caters to all the requirements from showcasing a product to conducting a seminar.

Now if you’re thinking that there are numerous such platforms that exist, we agree. But we also agree on the fact that even though these other places provide a similar kind of platform, PragatiE is the only platform that integrates true user experience, physicality of events and the promotion needs around it. So, in its true sense, PragatiE is dedicated to give you a complete experience of actually being present in an event, without physically being there. Now that is a reason big enough to get excited, isn’t it?

The last event that we did was the Virtual Delhi Book Fair 2020 from 30th October to 1st November which became the largest virtual book fair in the world with over two lakh people in attendance. Our experience and capability come from a 13-year experience as one of the leading digital communications agency in India. At our core, we infect businesses with our passion and expertise. What makes us stand out? Unlike large mainline agencies that lack understanding of technology/digital platforms; or boutique agencies that lack the appreciation of brand message, we are a rare combination-the right expertise for the right project.

Another year older, wiser and stronger, OMLogic is ready to enter the big 11 this year. Yes, we’ve almost made it through the near-apocalyptic 2020 without much fuss, sticking around with our kind of gusto, grit and gang (some old, some new)…all sealed tight like happy little guinea pigs, frolicking fine at a fancy new corner right in the middle of the green-Old Delhi corridor!

On 1st October 2019, we celebrated a decade of our existence with some fun revelations of top 10 goof ups, top 10 clients, top 10 moments, and all that defines our forever-active top 10 mood. This year, as we add another 1 to the existing 10 years, we are covering an extra mile of success, spirit, innovation and happiness.

Not denying, Covid has tested our tenacity of grappling with everything odd, uncertain and unreasonable. At the same time however, the last 8 months have also been extremely remarkable to shape and synergise our potential as a team to foray into new, innovative and never-thought of horizons. Here’s a rundown of how we have evolved over these months, working remotely yet innovating every minute across a variety of verticals.

Streamlined Process: Even though digital is a 24*7 industry, but for ages, we have had a stringent office policy of working for 10 hours and then retiring in peace for the day, but during the lockdown, we ensured that ‘everyone is available every time for everyone’ irrespective of their teams

Bring New Faces: When the whole nation was facing a financial crunch, we ensured that the existing team of OMLogic stays put, and we add more people to the family. During the 8 months period, we maintained the recruiting process with the help of video/voice interviews and hired more than 10 people across all teams

Changing Roles and Responsibilities: It doesn’t matter which role you were hired for, if we see potential in you to extend your knowledge in different areas, we are happy to unfold new opportunities. FYI: Our HR can crack killer copies and our videographers can keep fussy clients fully happy!

Innovation: When the whole world was at a standstill, we put our magnificent brains to develop two high-end,innovative solutions for the digital industry. pragatiE and OMLYTICS will change the way you look at events industry and social media analytics. Stay tuned!

New Home: We are excited to celebrate the approaching winters and the New Year at a new address that’s sassy, suave and super spacious. You can spot us happily placed at two different floors now, munching scrumptious Mughlai savouries every now and then…we couldn’t have been any more ecstatic.

Stable every second, and speeding every hour…there’s lots more to be unlocked!
Ride along as we jet into 2021 with a bang!

Why Blogspot users are in a spot…

Blogspot.in as we all know it was the go-to site for every budding blogger. Want to share your life story, your cooking recipes or your quirky DIY methods? You could do it all at ‘blogspot.in’, but not anymore.

Google has lost control of its domain ‘blogspot.in’, as reported by The Next Web and Bleeping Computer. The websites mention that Google lost ownership of it in June, and it has now been put up for sale on an Indian website called domainming.com for a mere $5,999. (Rs 4.5 Lakh)

This grave error has wreaked havoc for the 4.4 million blogs that were up on blogspot.in. They are now broken links which are not responding, and this has created a wave of uncertainty for bloggers. While you can access your blogs using blogspot.com, it’s not entirely safe, and millions of links are at the risk of being used for scamming and malicious attacks.

People searching for these blogs on google or clicking on links across Social Media that redirected to these blogs are now receiving error messages since all the links stand broken at this point of time.

If Google doesn’t purchase the domain again, these active links could be used to redirect users to various phishing attacks and scams. $5,999 doesn’t seem to be much of a price to pay for so much safety and security. It now remains to be seen what Google does about it.

Perhaps one of the reasons why we at OMLogic always recommend hosting your blog on your owned domain. While we don’t expect organizations like Google to act this silly, it’s always preferable to be in control of your own destiny. Google is yet to comment on the issue but you as a blogger must act and act now. For more insights, contact our experts.

In a world where digital agencies keep flourishing and flopping…what sets us apart? People? Clients? Vibes? All of these certainly!
But if we look closer…you’ll see him standing there. Smiling!
The *funny man* who’s been sailing our vessel, quite steady and strong. As we rejoice recalling the good, bad, ugly moments of 10 years, we can’t help jotting down these utterly stupid and special things that only he can pull off!
@KapGup: For once, stay chup and read on! This is for you.

Promotes cycling, drives a Merc
Yep! That’s Mr. Kapil Gupta. He takes up causes quite passionately but fails to acknowledge the fact that we are watching him all day, every day. Hellow! Why would you ask the world to cycle (and toil) to work daily while driving a Merc yourself? That’s so mean. So #BeingHuman, isn’t it?

Pedicure + Manicure at work
Chipping nails in public. Who does that? For all we know, no CEO would do it, at least not during office hours, and not in front of everyone. But then, it’s him! He is never conscious to chip off nails or clean his cuticles or leisurely repeat both right in front of our eyes….eeeks, yeah!

Betting: His side business
Every boss has his own secret sources of investment, shares, funding and returns. What makes our boss different? Well, he’s fond of generating instant funds by on-the-spot bets with any and everyone at work. ‘Skip junk food for a week to win.’ ‘Reach office 5 minutes early for 10 days to win.’ ‘20 extra push-ups every day to win.’ These bets (smartly targeted on the most gullible lot) range from simple to-do tasks to toughest challenges crafted with such dexterity and precision that the world already knows who’s gonna win. Free meals, beer, cash and whatnot. He keeps betting and winning to our plight!

Dresses like he’s heading to a beach party – EVERY DAY!
The most casually dressed of all the employees is the BOSS. Beat that! With shorts and chappals his everyday style staple, we are often hesitant to present him as the CEO in front of our clients and on digital media. Wonder if he wears a suit while going to bed. Just in case, you know!

‘Kaleshi’ and how!
Of all his guilty pleasures, this one surely tops our list.
Mr. Gupta absolutely loves to make (and then watch) two people fight. When he’s not gymming, betting, eating or sleeping at work, you will spot him working. Working to provoke people and eventually cherish them arguing at length. If you happen to raise guns at him, he’s always ready with his pet play-safe reply, “Main toh kabhi kuch kisi ko kehta/karta hi nahi hun”. KG= Kapil Gupta? Nah! Kaleshi Gupta!

Shelling done. Wait up!
Read ahead to know his other side.

Bossy? Not at all!
Commit a blunder, he’ll face you with a smile. Don’t feel like working, he’ll let you while. Awful lunch, he’ll order you a meal. Sudden heartbreak, he’ll get you a beer for free!
Far from being bossy and way more entertaining than Kapil Sharma, our Kapil is a jolly good pack of fun, energy and positivity. Less of a boss and more of a buddy, he’s the one who unites us a family.

Has an eye for pretty faces!
Well, who doesn’t want to work with beautiful souls? And what if these souls have pretty faces too! We (especially the guys at OML) are indeed thankful to Kapil for hunting and hiring so many of these wonder women…crème de la crème, you see! More benefits? The office looks pretty (visit us on Friday eve and drool over the sight!), guys take fewer sutta breaks…they choose to chat-and-work more, the overall environment is always LIT in general no matter what’s happening in the UN general assembly.

A boss in need, is a boss indeed
He is available, accessible and affable!
From settling a tech glitch (which is not really his forte) to resolving executive concerns to winding up bulk CC in no time…he is always there to help. One thing that rules his book of life is ‘See everyone smiling at work come what may,’ That’s the reason why he goes over and beyond to help and cheer everybody. And we totally love him for that!

Yes to party whenever we say!
We seldom plan, yet we always party! That’s how we roll, guys.
He’s always gung-ho to have fun, and we are never short of reasons to party. Killer combo that gets us going. Break the blues with gulab-jamun and jalebi, mid-week samosa brunches, beer parties on Fridays, late-night escapades at secret addas, surprise dinner at work (where meals are exclusively prepared by Kapil), and the baap of all…1st October party! They say work a little and party more. We say don’t wait, just keep working and partying…hand-in-hand!

He’s the ‘logic’ of OMLOGIC!
When nothing seems to work, he will ignite a spark that we happily hang onto!
And more often than not, in the current dynamic agency culture, we just need that little flicker of joy and hope which can fuel us for days to follow. He is emotionally strong to calm our volatile selves; he’s brutally honest to give us a reality check; his genuinity, groundedness and sense of logic are the biggest motivators for each one of us.

Packing the sweet nostalgia of our bond with these beautiful lines:

*He’s got jokes & a million dollar style.
A stage & a story he can make the crowd roar.
Yea he sure knows how to make a man smile.
He’ll put on a wig, or he’ll dance a jig.
& everyone for miles
Come to sit & laugh when the funny man … Smiles.*

Who is the “Gunda & Gundi” at OMLOGIC? -10/10 The Next Digit !

These are the moments that changed us as a company. These are what define us and our culture. These are what we will never forget.

Our belief in us – 1st October 2009: When we thought that the entire team will leave for the fears of job security. The old founding team was leaving the company and we had 2 Lacs revenue with 5 Lacs expenditure. No one and I mean no one left. Everyone did whatever they can as if they had a point to prove. As if they were all taken over by this ambition to show we can. That spirit has since become part of our inseparable culture.

Cash flow positive – 1st Jan 2010: We met with UPES, Dehradun and one of the key decision-makers in marketing asks what Facebook is. But the pitch is too passionate and he gives us a small starting budget with which we grow it into perhaps one of the earliest education success stories using social media in India. The only reason we were called for the pitch was that we had offered a genuine career advice to the then marketing lead who was looking at starting on his own before finally deciding to join UPES.

Big brands are us – 10th Sep 2010: We were talking to HBO for digital in the early days of digital and they asked us to present to Mudra for the recommendation (Mudra being the mainline agency for HBO). We shared the proposal with costs etc with Mudra transparently per HBO’s request and as a testament to low ethics, Mudra sent a competitive bid to HBO claiming the ability to do it. HBO offered us a pilot at one-third our quoted price to test us. We took it on (we would have taken the pilot at free-of-charge as well). And we never looked back. We got to an overall relationship many times our initial quote and got our first BIG BRAND break with HBO.

Websites as an add-on – Dec 2010: We were called in as recovery agents for a website for Jagjit Singh Ji’s world tour (needed to be completed in 2 days since the 3rd day was the launch in Mumbai). Not only did we complete it. We also got to go to Mumbai for the launch where Jagjit Ji’s website was launched by Gulzar Ji. Just the chance to stand on stage and telling them where to click was worth everything. Sadly, Jagjit Ji passed away in the middle of this world tour.

Events & destinations – Feb 2011: We went to pitch for Kingdom of Dreams (during its prelaunch phase) and met with Viraf Sarkari (the head of Wizcraft, the brains behind KOD). Viraf entered the meeting saying I got 15 mins, can you finish in 10. An hour and 10 minutes later he said I need a bathroom break, can you hold for 2 minutes because I can’t and we continue then. We knew we got our customer right there. It was an amazing few months working with them.

Nirbhaya and social for causes – Dec 2012: Our first big NGO break. Nirbhaya campaign we did as a pure OMLogic initiative but it led us to much bigger things. In 2013, we got the project for Delhi sustainable transport, where we created 4 legs, namely, Delhi for Women safety (safety), Delhi Loves Buses (public transport), Pedal on Delhi (cycling 7 NMT) and Delhi Says (celebrating Delhi). This became an incredibly successful initiative. Important to note that one of the key recommendations at that time was to do a pilot with e-rickshaws and motorbikes for last-mile connectivity (both currently in place).

Political social media – April 2013: One hot April day in 2013 was spent with us pitching for social media agency business for INC for 2014 national elections. In the final round were 10+ MPs (most of them cabinet minister level in the party) sitting as decision-makers. Being able to stand there and present with all of them listening intently was perhaps the biggest moment for us till that time.

The big office – September 2013: This is when we moved from being a boutique North Delhi based agency to a force to reckon with. A sprawling 4000+ sq ft carpet area luxury office in the middle of the most expensive real estate in perhaps the whole world (Connaught Place). We were on cloud 9 and growing like there is no tomorrow. 40 people, 50 people, 60 people…And in a few months, we were not working with Congress anymore. We had made our mark, got our experience and we were out.

The big Vivo break and break – Oct 2015 to Sep 2016: We won Vivo which went on to become the official sponsor of IPL and hired Ranveer Singh as the brand ambassador. We did both the Ranveer launch and IPL launch with them. It was incredible. It was fun. It was too good to last and it didn’t. Difficult to put the blame but this is where we lost focus. Next couple of years, we just survived (we were profitable and all, but we were not the same OMLogic people loved)

The lowest point – 2018: The downfall that began with Vivo exit took time to realize, manifest, infest and take us down with it. Somewhere along the way, we lost focus. We lost the drive to make it big and succeed. We had so many team issues that the company kinda lost purpose. We didn’t fail since our foundation and beliefs were strong, but we went wayward. Every few months we will try to get out of the ditch, but it will keep increasing on us.

Next phase of OMLogic – Unsure when it began: This is when we decided to take our destiny into our hands. And we had some incredible Chinese friends with big ads money to help us along the way. They solved our profitability concerns, gave us the needed lifeline and here we are. The team is happier, the customers are satisfied, the environment is lit and the work is innovating itself…To the MOON!

If you are here, we are sure you know that OMLogic is a pretty unique setup. We do things zaraa hatke. Some of these lead to the culture and happiness that largely defines us all in the company. Here are some examples of things you may not get to see elsewhere.

Let’s start with a controversial one: Ladke taadna in meetings and interviews. Yes, we have our own version of gender bias and objectification. Like everything else, it’s the reverse of what you usually see. Girls recommend to HR or BD to take onboard a specific lead based on how the boys there look. We have had girls come out of meeting screaming “haaaye kitna cute hai!”

A big ethical one: We do not, and I mean DO NOT pay bribes or practice anything unethical. Our books, our approach, our focus is razor-sharp. While it’s usually a recipe to reduce catchment, for us, this branding is one of our real growth & trust factors (both for employees and customers).

A courageous one: Most companies do testimonials, with customers and employees alike. We were the first ones that did a testimonial campaign called “what do our exes (the ex-employees) say?”

Dress code: We have absolutely no dress code. On a normal day, summer or winter, our boss could be seen wearing a t-shirt, shorts and chappals around the office!

Matter of policy & passion: 10 years and never ever a salary delay. The worst has been salary coming on 4th morning instead of 3rd due to some bank/document glitch. For a company which never took any funding, we think it’s pretty amazing!

Employee focus: Our belief on employees and our assertion that it’s a question of fitment, not necessarily skills. This is shown in our frequency of rehirings…not to mention the number of times we politely say NO!

Trust: We develop an unflinching trust with our customers most of the times. We have had a customer who fired us, then refer us to a friend saying he couldn’t fully utilize our skills, but we are perfect experts for him. One of our customers is now a Director and partner; and spends an enormous amount of time helping us grow.

Empathy: The number of doctor-visits our CEO has done with employees suffering from something or the other, including a therapist because the employee wanted him there.

Creating Excellence: Telling a stressed ready-to-quit employee to chill for a month during her notice period, work with zero pressure and then reassess. She comes back in 20 days, takes her resignation back and grows to a CS in 2 years.

Matter of concern: For an employee that threw her back, the boss used to travel to the office on a bicycle every day, while the boss’s driver brought the car and the employee after her therapy. Personal health, employee satisfaction and what not. In matters of concern, we like to be extra concerned.

Our patience: We sincerely believe that people have a right to have bad days, weeks, sometimes months. They go through a bad form like in cricket. And we are always there to support. From haramkhori to aashiqui to badtameezee. From power naps to power couple; the number of times we just stand with our employees till they get back to their best.

Speed of decision making: We have literally hired people in the first half who have begun work in the second half. We like to work at the speed of light in almost everything. ‘Let me go back and think about it’ is usually not something we practice. We don’t say it at the outset, but most of the times, we have already thought-through!

If you wanna know more of what keeps us going, staying true to these values, read the other blogs where we talk of things we do for health and how we create fun at OMLogic.

Happiness is one of our key 5 values. It is at the core of what we are as a company. It is what brings us back to work every day. This is why most of our ex-employees say “The new office is well an office, OMLogic was home.”

Flat Organization: It’s become a cliché for everyone to sound cool. But we don’t just say it, we do it. Everybody’s point of view is heard and valued, no matter how senior or junior.

Single hall seating: We all sit in one hall, no matter what designation. We give the corner seats (corners in the aisle) to the quiet workers who like to work more. Not to the seniors who think they have earned it. The seniors sit in the centre places to guide and work with the team.

Health and health-related stuff: Health is an ongoing talk at OMLogic. We don’t just talk. We do it all. The details of what all falls in our health-kit, you may read it here: https://bit.ly/2n5Zy8D

We don’t get upset: Sure, we have our sour moments, but as a rule, we don’t feel bad. The phrase “All in good fun” is what we all live by. You can abuse, you can be witty, you can even be caustic – all in good fun!

Support, support and support: We have superbly well created a culture where people are more supportive and less competitive. Everyone is surely looking to grow as fast as they can, but our internal system along with our appraisal process ensures one’s growth is not by standing on the head of someone else.

Do you have a gym: To fit something, all you need is a big heart. With that in mind, we put in a fully functional gym at our office. We even have our own set of homegrown trainers who keep you on schedule and entertained. They charge in kind and not cash!

Zumba, running, cycling – events galore: And we do them all as a team. We even integrate some of these with our customers. The best thing, what keeps them coming is that we are stingy, we do these with little to no budget and keep our focus straight – having fun!

Our own irreverent non-aligned movement: We have absolutely no political, religious, cultural, national and other beliefs. Our only commitment is to our ethics and our fun. Rest all are considered as passing sources of entertainment.

We are owned fully by the people in the company: As we say, no hawks or investors. Which means we do things to optimize for our customers and our employees. We very rarely need to do things we don’t like.

Food all day: The people who love us as much as our employees and customers are the restaurants nearby and food delivery service. 10-12 for breakfast, 12:30-2:30 for lunch, 3-5 for the evening snack and 5:30 onwards for people who work late and of course late night for those who don’t wanna eat at home, it’s an ongoing party all day, every day!

Fun while you work: Creative campaigns, innovations and planning. We try to be loud in the aisles at times and involve as many people as possible in our thinking. Sure, it’s sometimes unproductive, but that’s our investment to ensure our creative juices flow better. We call it “Premium agency culture”.

The betting culture: You can bet on anything from someone’s office timing to India’s world cup schedule to gym schedules. Betting is big at OMLogic and the stakes could be money to food to something really stupid. The loser pays – just that the winnings are shared by the team.

Nothing gets us embarrassed and no conversation is barred: And we really mean nothing. We are a bunch of obtrusive, aggressive, passionate people you don’t wanna mess up with. We are the pack that is always in harmony with us. If you are not us, just don’t mess!

Party like only we can: OMLogic parties are known to be legendary. There is the big one on 1st October every year, the annual events (Independence Day, New Year’s, Diwali, etc.) but there are these amazing Friday evenings and other evenings when we just order beer, little to no food, turn our big-ass speakers with karaoke on and move to the tunes. Some of these can get a bit wild and they need no planning.

Women empowerment – Oh it’s fun: We are an unequal opportunity company (women dominating with 50.01% force) and we love talking about women empowerment. Our favourite pastime is to call out the pseudo feminists (which most are).

Then there is politics and political social media: Being as involved as we are in political social media and being as unaligned with any party or players as we are, we have interesting discussions. And yes, we are talking about global politics. Never miss an opportunity if you get one.

And we have a video of our CEO chasing a rat. No kidding! You can watch it here: https://bit.ly/2n4zoTK

The most amazing part of this fun is the involvement and leadership of our CEO in all of this. In his own words, his job profile is to be an entertainer, a bakchod and someone who keeps everyone ‘Always On’. In his pastime, he heads Strategy and Business Development for OMLogic.

We are a fun company. We have pretty well enjoyed most of our work. Finding fun and happiness within any complication is the core of the culture that makes us as popular amongst employees (current and ex) as we are. One important characteristic of OMLogic as a company is that our customer case studies and our outlook of our customers do not start with they knew nothing and see where we got them. It usually starts with they knew their strength and their limitation and knew they need experts. It was their right decision making and trust in us which got us to be able to do what we did for them.

Below is a list of some of the clients that were the most awesome for us (awesome from the perspective of helping us grow in certain segment or develop a certain capability).

LUFTHANSA: We were hired by a NY based agency to do ethnic marketing campaigns for Lufthansa. It needed an overnight working and very tight quality control. Creating microsites and running good budget FB ads to drive traffic. In the chaotic digital world, they taught us the value of process, planning and quality control and we have ensured it stays with us.

HBO: What do we say about them. 8 years of work, everything from a website to social media to ORM to mobile application. Innovation where nothing is barred and brand guidelines where nothing is allowed. Creatives to be built using the movie posters coming from the best brains in Hollywood. We created some of the most amazing campaigns with them. From the incident where someone asked why HBO strikes the word ‘Gay’ on TV to the time where a Harry Porter premiere (hailed as premiere of the century) showed with a 20 minute delay between video and audio on TV to the time when we promised them popcorn umpire but could never do it, it was thorough learning. They were also one of our 1st mobile app customers. One customer, we would take on for free if we could.

THAPAR INSTITUTE: It’s perhaps the most important relationship we have today. It’s amazing the amount of trust they put on us. A 60+ year old setup giving us the freedom to innovate (at times without even asking for approvals) is just amazing. From no digital presence to a force to reckon with in Indian education social media, they sure have come a long way. Digital was a second thought for them in their contemporizing efforts but is now integral to what they do.

UPES, DEHRADUN: They were the first big educational institute where we started as a social media agency. A true example of an institute with not such great credentials leveraging digital to create a good brand. Changing the profile of students attending the university and becoming a household name much beyond the Uttarakhand and UP sector.

VIVO: Coming into India in a crowded market, they really looked like they are throwing money at everything to gather attention. Ranveer Singh, IPL – what more could you do. While we still label Vivo as the account that put OMLogic as a company down and took us off-track, it was certainly a very exciting customer when it began. But the list can’t be complete without them.

REC (Rural Electrification Commission): This was one of our longest-running government accounts. It came with all the complications of a government account except the one which makes it impossible for us to work. We never had to give a penny to anyone (not even favour) and they not only hired us, they even extended our contract multiple times.

WAVE GROUP: Wave Cinemas, Wave City, Wave City Center, Ponty Chadha Foundation, Genesis Learning Studios, Delhi Waveriders, Reva Aesthetics. Get it?

YATRA.COM: Mainstream social media, query management for ORM and amazing apps, games and campaigns, Yatra was one of our earliest customers with money and intent to do big. They gave us the courage and vision to do what we did with HBO, Lufthansa and all others.

CONGRESS (INC): Well, what do we say about them. Let’s close this one with Dickens (literally) – It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way – in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.

UTTERNOW: Before we go ahead about this customer, let us preface that we have acquired equity in this initiative. J Yes, such has been the collaboration. It’s a newly launched customer review application for mom-and-pop stores and small retailers- the hitherto ignored most critical portions of the economy.

MOBIUS FOUNDATION: Mr Pradip Burman, his vision and work for sustainability is certainly awe-inspiring. What he does at his age is clearly an inspiration for all of us at OMLogic. The launch of World Environment School at Coorg has already been an amazing experience, what with the school starting in 18 months. Looking forward to greater collaboration, achievements and heights with them.

And this list will certainly be incomplete without the mention of Prints Publications, Buy-Books India, Pages Bookstore, Simply Books and numerous other initiatives we have done with Pranav Gupta. What started as a customer-vendor relationship has now transformed into an investor, director, promoter and a partner in initiatives outside OMLogic. He is perhaps the most loved friend of OMLogic.

Exits are never pretty. An exit shows misalignment at the least and usually demonstrates someone as a loser (the other may not be a winner as well). Of course, we have had our own share of them over the years. While they may not have all seemed funny when they happened (some were really not funny), we can sure sit now and laugh/ponder at them. For the sake of their privacy (not ours), no names have been used.

A guy very confidently stands in the middle of the office while the boss is not there and says he is leaving early for the day since he has a freelancing assignment meeting. Did freelancing for a while beginning the next day!

A mobile phone gets stolen from office and a search operation is launched. We find the phone on the top of a wall in the men’s room where no one would check. We fill up the top of the mobile with colour and keep it back. Coloured, found and fired. Interestingly, the guy was a well-paid designer with much lesser morals. BTW, stealing has claimed 3 careers in OMLogic and we have been extremely creative in setting traps to find the culprit every time.

Boy likes girl. Boy and girl date. Girl dumps the boy. The boy goes to therapy. Boy quits. Game over! BTW, picture abhi baaki hai…the girl does well in the company and the boy does well in his career.

An employee harasses a customer and keeps sending messages. He was thinking about her watching Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar. Fired! We have fired another person for sexual harassment but that was due to Vishakha guidelines.

A social media executive is unable to confirm her forums due to some seeming emergencies at home. She informs the CS who saves her by falsifying the report. Once it’s discovered, the executive is asked to pick-up work on her forums and the CS is asked to pick-up his termination notice.

2 people freelancing at work. One of them had to send an assignment to the other person and mistakenly sends to a different employee. Both fired instantaneously. The irony was they were writing articles/blogs for a customer and they both couldn’t write to save their life as per our standards.

An employee and a boss both are very close to each other and are blamed for favouritism by everyone around. Office says – we don’t care what’s going on, just NO favoritism. Struggle, burn, quit the same day and both join the same office. Of course, there was no favouritism!

I love him. I am getting married. I shouldn’t get married, eats sleeping pills. Gets married. Hires a replacement with little to no interview and leaves. Interestingly, the person she hired becomes one of the most important parts of OMLogic. The first person gets divorced in a year.

An employee threatens she will quit. Gets consoled. She threatens again. Gets consoled again. She threatens the third time. Well, third time is a charm. We say “Get the FO”.

An admin staff forgets to go somewhere to pick up a government refund check, which gets delayed for 6 months. Check worth Rs 82 Lacs. Hell fired!

Women related issues: A driver complains he can’t take money from a woman, in this case, our HR. We ask him to leave. He calls and comes back to talk. We listen to all his complains and say “Thank you for sharing. These are all genuine, valid concerns. Our promise to you, nothing will change from tomorrow. He looked at us in disbelief. Of course, we separate. BTW, such inability to take directions from women has claimed more people as well.

This last one is a little difficult to put in words for the weirdness of it. But we will keep it simple here. Regionalism at work meant that a Jaat admin had a tiff with a Bihari peon. The day was a Friday – Brazil vs Portugal match in 2010 world cup. The only day they were left alone at the office early evening. They fought over whether a table should be cleaned on Friday or Monday. One beat the other, cops are called, a doctor visit is needed and the Bihari gets plastered. Next few days see a group of Biharis visit the office to beat-up the Jaat and a group of loha mandi Jaats visiting to beat up the Bihari. Both fired. (This one didn’t end here. The Jaat sent an observer posing as an employee for a few months and anything more will be too weird to elaborate here. It will need you to have a beer with our CEO who can tell you all about it.

Health is happiness, that’s what the world says. Well, we have made health as a source of entertainment for us. It’s what keeps us all together. Whether it’s eating unhealthy stuff or working out in the office gym, we don’t utter it so much, like we follow it. Much before Modiji went on a meditative spree in the hidden cave, we kinda pledged the ‘stay healthy and be loud about it’ spirit to whichever extent possible. And here we are, frolicking fit and fine like glistening young dolphins who never really age. They just keep moving and flapping happiness. Precisely our state (both physically and mentally) since when even we don’t know. Health has hit us really hard and we can’t help listing out these fun activities that we religiously follow in our routine.

Wake up to Badminton!
Every morning beginning at 8:30, you’ll spot a splash of energy, moves, strokes and cheer. Where? Right in front of our office at Rajendra Place. Yes, under the same big tree where pigeons hit on crows!
It’s the new thing at OMLogic, as an add-on the other activities mentioned below. We stop when we sweat, only to sweat more and gulp even more!

Chill it out with a Chilled Salad!
The day can’t be complete without a rich, raw and ravishing SALAD during the day! It looks greener than green and tastes tastier than the softest red meat you’ve ever had. Some have it as veggies and some put layers of dressings on it. You’ve gotta try it because we plan it leaf by leaf, pinch by pinch. And it’s healthy & filling!

Honey meets Garlic!
This seemingly geeky combination is the ultimate cure for everything weird in your body sometimes. We didn’t know that until once when we were shaken by a pungent smell of something, later clarified to be the elixir of health in the extremely demanding and high-on-action agency life! For those who are not aware, honey-and-garlic is good for controlling blood pressure, cholesterol, inactivity and mood-induced aimlessness/laxity (something which is most common these days!). We bet you can’t taste the pungency of garlic in this honey-filled treat.

Zum Zum Zumba!
When we don’t party, we do Zumba!
Shaking it better than Shakira, we let loose and jump our hearts out in the special Zumba sessions which are purposely organized to get us out of our comfort and carefree zones! Those who love dancing like to display the best moves, those who freeze by the sound of music are forced to shed off inhibition and copy every moving thing around. And together, both of them truly rock!

Soup in Winters!
Tea and coffee are routine. Come winters, we set a soup-y scene! Yep. We work better when tempted by a simmering bowlful of health and happiness. Tomato, chicken, corn…any and every type you want! Some have it in bulk secretly hidden behind cartons of Maggi noodles and some order it from outside!

Health Bets (where you get to win a beer!)
We very sincerely believe that the 2 ways to move people into action is money or fear of disrespect. And our good bets achieve both. The loser ends up being the source of fun and gets a beer. You wanna try betting against our CEO, good luck to you!

Gym in the Evening
To fit something, all you need is a big heart. With that in mind, we put in a fully functional gym at our office. We even have our own set of homegrown trainers who keep you on schedule and entertained. They charge in kind and not money. We have a gym, we have enthusiasm, we have fitness freaks and we also have some rules for the gym.
Rule No 1- Gym after 7 PM
Rule No. 2- If you join the gym, it’s free but if you want to quit you have to serve 3-weeks notice period else pay termination costs
Rule No. 3- You must go to the gym at least two days a week and 9 days a month. If you fail in this, you would have to pay the penalty amount to the company
Happy Gymming!

Watch what you Eat
From protein bars to fish oil to nutritious shakes – we have it all. We don’t do the usual green tea nonsense, but we sure have our own defined set of rules.

Cycling
We started this in 2011 with our advisor Gillian Muessig, who came from the US and did a search cycle event in Delhi. Since then, we have been doing such events as a team. There is a cycle in the office all the time, which people can ride for exercise or just for fun.

Running for our customers
We have done marathon participations as a team. Running in Airtel Delhi Half Marathon and sweating it out. We have integrated these runs for our customers as well. Running as a team at Gurgaon starry nights, ADHM and other events where we can provide some value to our customers as well.
