First Template - Strategic Plan

The first template has finally been completed and is now available free on DocStoc for download.

It is a Strategic Plan on a Page template, which has the ability to be a double-sided plan if you have a lot of Initiatives/Strategies.

The template includes really basic instructions about the sort of information you might place in each area, how you might structure it etc. Further information about the nuts and bolts of Strategic Planning can be found on a number of sites throughout the internet, I've found Wikipedia is always a great place to start.

As with all of the documents that will go onto this site, I would love to hear back from anyone who uses it, even if it to tell me that it was of no value :-) although hopefully there won't be too many of them.

I can't believe it has been so long since I put up the first post on this and I still haven't progressed the blog. The problem is I have been doing to much of the doing. Since the initial concept I have had a change in roles, which has moved me into a more strategic position within the business but has also taken a lot of my time and brain space to learn more of the business.

But, I am now settled in and starting back on the projects that I was conceptualising last year, which includes this blog. I will work to put up at least two On a Page templates and guidelines before the end of the year - that seems like an achieveable goal and which hopefully won't leave me annoyed and disappointed with myself again :-)

The concept for the new blog

The concept of on a page is that it is the quickest and easiest way to get people engaged with a topic. People don’t read documents, it is not that they aren’t interested but in most offices they just don’t have the time. An Executive Summary is generally the most that you would get anyone to look at, but what if you could give them something with a little more, something more visual and more appealing?

That is what on a page is about.

This is not rocket science, and there is a lot of this out in the business world, the difference with on a page is that it will not only provide template examples, it will also outline what should and should not be included in the one page documents.

The site will be up and running shortly as part of a new project I am working on.
