Men seek penis enlargements for different reasons. Some of the reasons are because they are concerned about how they perform and how they look. They want to increase their sexual pleasure and that of the woman. Some men believe that a woman will respect a man that has a larger penis. This is something that sounds absurd, but it is how society is today. Men will larger penises feel that they will have more dates and will gain the respect of a woman when he lowers his pants.

The question, why do men seek penis enlargement does not have anything to do with asking about anxiety or insecurities. More men today have become aware of a smaller size penis because society finds it acceptable to discuss penis sizes. A man is not embarrassed to talk about ways to make the penis larger. A larger penis is what many men seek and want so that they can please their partners. It is not about dating around and having a large penis, it is about finding someone they truly care about and wan to give that person everything including a larger penis for sexual pleasure.

Why do men seek penis enlargement? Because the world as we know it today allows men to discuss the size of their penis and how well they perform with a partner. There are no boundaries when men today talk in the locker room. Men have a new outlook on their sex lives and want to be the best. They want to have a larger penis to please their partners. Men desire respect in and out of bed. They want to have a large penis to satisfy a woman. They want to have what every other man has, a larger penis to enjoy the sexual experience with a partner.

The next time you wonder, why do men seek penis enlargement, you should remember that is more about pleasing a woman than it is for any other reasons. Men will always find new ways to be the best that they can be in and out of bed. A larger penis enhances sexual pleasures for both the man and the woman. The man feels great after a sexual encounter and they can see the look of pleasure on a woman's face. They feel respected and wanted. Men feel that larger penises are the way the world looks at a man today and they want that feeing of being proud.

Although a larger penis does add to a man's self-esteem, it is not always about looks. It is about sexual pleasures they experience when they are with a woman. Why do men seek penis enlargement? They seek a larger penis so that they can become a better lover and have the respect of a woman. In some cases, size does matter. However, this is only true in today's society because of the acceptability of sexual encounters and a woman's need to be satisfied.

Article Source: steve taylor

Massage Therapy - The Healthy Alternative

This may sound all too familiar, but please, stick with me on this: Get up, get the kids up, get the kids washed and dressed, organize breakfast, sort out lunches, encourage the use of hats, coats and shoes, herd them into the car, drop them off at school and then take yourself off to work. (Hopefully you'll find time in there somewhere to get yourself washed and dressed and grab some breakfast of your own) Collect the kids, help with homework, fix dinner, adopt the role of entertainer or taxi driver, put them to bed, collapse in armchair, go to bed yourself, get some sleep. Get up, start all over again. The tragedy of the routine described above is that it's less of a cliche than you might think.

Somewhere in that routine is a frighteningly accurate description of me... and it wasn't that long ago.

The lifestyle I once had, allowed absolutely no time for me, or me time to be specific. If I entertained any notion of putting myself first, it was very quickly replaced by the next immediate task in a very full and hectic schedule that revolved around everyone but me. I just couldn't contemplate anything different.

What set me straight was a gift from a friend. The gift was a massage. My friend knew perfectly well that there was no way I would organize this for myself, it was just too much of an indulgence, as I understood it then. And besides, even if the notion ever entered my head, when was I going to find the opportunity to step out of my routine and do something purely for me?

Well thankfully my friend made my gift specific to me and made sure that it could only be enjoyed by me, and I've never been so grateful. In accepting that gift, I had no idea of the lasting effects it would have. If nobody had made me aware, I would never have been exposed to the benefits that massage and massage therapy can and do bring.

In terms of the range of benefits that massage therapy brings, they can be as basic as feeling a whole lot better (special) for a short period of time to transforming your life for the better, for as long as you want. Without sounding too dramatic, massage therapy can be life changing. Just because massage and massage therapy sounds like a luxury and an indulgence, doesn't mean it is, in fact the opposite is true.

Massage and massage therapy is an essential element in your health and wellness plan. It can have a fundamental impact on the quality of your life, and in no way should it be considered a luxury, and it is certainly not the preserve of the wealthy.

Having the awareness that you need to regularly schedule time for your health and wellness alongside your everyday routines may be an awkward concept, but please consider this as a proposal that you must develop. There is no maybe here, it is a must.

Maybe you're the person I described above, and you just can't see the wood for the trees because you just aren't aware that there's a different way. Who knows, maybe one of your friends will give you the same wonderful gift that I received and you could be on your way to a whole new you. Who knows.

The truth is, if you're reading this right now, you don't need any further prompt. My message is crystal clear: Schedule some time for your own health and wellbeing as a matter of utmost urgency.

Article Source: Dave Clark

Detoxifying Against Hepatitis-C - How True is It?

There has been a time where nutritionists and health professionals alike considered the idea that people that are generally healthy need not undergo any detoxification program so long as they keep a balanced diet.

High levels of mercury were found by doctors to be present in sweat as compared to urine on exposed factory employees. Excessive sweating can be potentially dangerous for persons who are in bad health condition, specially women who are pregnant and those who are experiencing cardiovascular ailments (albeit a dry sauna can be specifically employed by health experts for these patients). We would like to present you with a no-hassle recipe for green tea, and note that unlike regular green tea, it is better tasting and you just might not have any idea how good for your health this truly is. It is also a great and healthy way of quenching thirst on those hot summer days.

1. Blood and Lymphatic: toughens and energizes the blood and lymph fluids.
2. Cardiovascular: greatly enhances overall blood circulation.
3. Liver and Gallbladder: invigorates the liver.
4. Lungs: disperses and gets rid of mucus accumulated in the lungs.
5. Kidneys and Bladder: cleanses the kidneys and bladder by eliminating surplus uric acid.
6. Colon conditioner: aids in stimulation of bowel movement.
7. Carbon: eliminates all traces of toxic residues we are unknowingly putting inside our bodies.

Illegal drugs and liquor can be very addicting. Data reveals that the youth are more likely to be curious with prohibited drugs and liquor and are more vulnerable to being addicted to these harmful substances.

So what about Hepatitis-C?

Hepatitis-C is a very contagious disease which is contained in the blood and has devastating effects on a person's liver. Around 240,000 Canadians are said to be assaulted by this disease, and a lot of them are not even aware that they have already acquired the said illness. People with Hepatitis-C are increasing at an alarming rate in Canada and around the globe, particularly on individuals who are used to sharing needles and other related tools. It is estimated that about 5,000 Canadians acquire the virus annually, most especially the youth.

Addiction with alcohol and prohibited drugs will definitely need detoxification under supervision of medical experts whenever possible in order to evade deadly withdrawal syndromes like seizures and convulsion. After their status is stable, they will be need psychological help in relation to their drug abuse and drinking problems.

Can you imagine trying to wash the dishes filled with grease without the aid of dish washing detergent or hot water? It's obvious that you won't get the job done without them. When toxins and other harmful substances get inside your system, it will require the aid of a strong cleaning agent or medium in order to wash your system clean of all its impurities. It is interesting to note however, that the Ancient Chinese people have already been using these concepts and methods of detoxification in their society for more than 3,000 years already.

A good understanding of the concept of detoxification will include some knowledge that it does not work in isolation; instead it demands a thorough understanding of the various substances involved in helping with the healing and cleansing process of the body.

Getting yourself determined in undergoing a detoxification program is a good start in your body's cleansing process. Try seeing and imagining on how much relief it would be after you get cleansed and think about the improvements it can do for your health and well-being. Keep in mind that detoxification and healing takes time, especially if your body was heavily attacked by toxins. Relax, be patient, let nature take its course in you and you will be amazed on how an amazing healing machine your body is.

Although the fact that the Hepatitis-C virus being known for a long time, it was not until 1989 that its complete details was discovered. It makes the liver inflamed, which will usually lead to cirrhosis or scars on the liver that impedes it from functioning normally. Of the total 5,000 individuals assessed to be newly infected annually, a maximum of 70% of them were shown to indicate no symptoms of the disease. There are even cases where symptoms don't show until 20 to 30 years. On that time period, they may have no idea that they could be infecting others already. This is the reason why it is important to evaluate whether you might be at risk and what precaution you must take. Should you feel that you are infected with this disease, or that you could be in danger of contacting it, don't hesitate to go to a health specializing on this matter for a blood examination. More information can also be seen on Health Canada's website at www.healthcanada.ca/hepc.

It is at this stage that an individual will be experiencing a full and sudden halt on his drug or alcohol related activities. Rehabilitation on drug and alcohol abuse usually leads to a case of withdrawal that is commonly repulsive with side effects that may include vomiting, paranoia, hallucinations, insomnia, hot and cold flashes, and other painful and sometimes terrifying consequence.

Recent news also indicates a lot about the astounding healing capabilities of turmeric, which is an antioxidant that fights free-radicals and rich in curry spice which has been labeled as a protection from Alzheimer's disease and cancer. It is much safer if any old fillings are replaced with new ones in order to be certain that they don't contain any heavy metals.

Detoxification is a very popular term among people nowadays since the last 10 years or so although it is limited within the area of alternative or Western Holistic medicine. Using detoxification supplements can greatly help in cleansing your body and give you a healthier life.

Vegetables are considered to be one of nature's best agents of detoxification. Therefore it is an excellent choice to take in foods that contains more than 50% green and leafy vegetables.

Article Source: Holly Vera

Tips For Preventing Eye Wrinkles

One of the most important factors in maintaining a youthful appearance is preventing eye wrinkles. The delicate skin around the eyes is one of the first places to show the ravages of time and gravity on the face. Taking precautions when you are young can help you prevent eye wrinkles and stay youthful looking. Here are some ideas for keeping the skin around the eyes healthy.

First, one of the worst enemies in the fight to stay young looking is the sun. Everyone probably already knows that they need to use a sunblock to help prevent eye wrinkles. But have you ever thought about using dark glasses as a method of preventing eye wrinkles? Using dark glasses when driving or doing other things in the bright sunlight will keep you from squinting, which in turn will help your face avoid forming lines around the eyes. If you wear glasses all the time, you could get the kind of lenses that turn dark in bright light.

Another tip for preventing eye wrinkles is to be very careful about how you handle the skin around the eyes. Don't pull or tug at it when washing your face or removing makeup. Some experts recommend using your ring finger or pinky instead of your index finger when applying concealer or moisturizer under the eyes. By using a weaker finger, you will automatically be applying less pressure and will thereby prevent eye wrinkles.

To prevent eye wrinkles, it is absolutely imperative that you begin using moisturizer around the eyes before the lines start to form. Choose one with natural ingredients, and remember to apply it gently. Peptides are partial protein molecules included in many formulas for preventing eye wrinkles and they are effective. Moisturizers containing natural oils are also good.

There are many skin-care formulas on the market for preventing eye wrinkles and for removing wrinkles already found near the eyes. Some of these are quite expensive so be sure to shop around. Realize that skin care products don't need to be expensive to be effective.

A major cause of eye wrinkles is the declining levels of collagen and elastin in our skin as we age. Regular use of a good quality eye gel can greatly enhance your looks. The best ones will have natural and healthful ingredients designed to not only prevent eye wrinkles, but also to lighten dark circles under the eyes and to reduce puffiness and bags under the eyes.

Look for ingredients that nourish your skin. Don't let the claims of some manufacturers fool you into thinking that a product with collagen will help. Collagen cannot be absorbed into the skin. The only way to rebuild it is to support the body's own ability to create it. An ingredient called CynergyTK has been shown to be very effective in supporting the production of both collagen and elastin.

Coenzyme Q10, known by many for its ability to support physical health, is also effective in preventing eye wrinkles when used in a skin cream. But look for the nano-emulsion form of CoQ10. It is more easily absorbed into the skin, thus providing the nutrition it needs to build collagen and elastin production. As these two components of our skin are replenished, our skin will firm up, causing wrinkles to decrease or in some cases disappear completely.

There you have it. Using these tips as a guide to preventing eye wrinkles will lead you to developing healthier, younger appearing skin for the years to come. Realize though, that not just any skin cream or eye gel will be effective. Look for ones with ingredients that have scientific evidence behind the ingredients. This will assure you of seeing the results you are hoping for.

Article Source: Laura Tobin

8 Superfoods For Cellulite Reduction

It's no secret that a good anti cellulite diet is one of the best way one can maintain a cellulite free body. It is estimated that over 15 million people are suffering from the disease and many more are harboring the dreaded Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Besides creating havoc on the body's immune system, the AIDS virus also causes serious damage to the mouth and the surrounding structures.

The mouth as we know is a hotbed of all kinds of microorganisms, some of which are quite normal to the area. But under immunocompromised conditions, these 'normal' microorganisms start to cause irreparable damage to the area. Besides, the teeth themselves, lips, tongue, gums and cheeks are affected by AIDS.

Source: medindia.net

Early Puberty may Make Girls Hostile

A report in the August issue of Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals says that adolescent girls who hit puberty early and have parents who spend less quality time with them are more likely be aggressive in nature.

Early puberty in girls is related to conduct problems, delinquency and substance use, according to the study.

Many of these problems persist through adolescence and into early adulthood, the study added.

"As adults, early-maturing girls demonstrate lower academic and occupational achievement and report lower relationship quality and life satisfaction," the researchers said.

"It is thus important to identify protective factors that may mitigate negative effects of early maturation on girls' adjustment," they added.

Sylvie Mrug, Ph.D., of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and colleagues interviewed 330 fifth-grade girls (average age 11) and their parents from three metropolitan areas.

The girls reported how often they engaged in aggressive behavior, such as hitting, teasing and spreading rumors to hurt others; whether they displayed delinquency (fighting at school, getting injured in a fight or inflicting injuries); how often their mother was affectionate and how often they did things together; whether their parents had talked to them about violence, tobacco and sex; and whether and when they had started their periods.

Parents responded to seven items measuring the extent to which they knew their child's friends and how he or she spent her free time.

One-fourth of the girls had matured early, defined as beginning their period one year before the average age for females of their racial and ethnic group. Those who did were more likely to be delinquent, but not aggressive.

However, those who matured early and also had low levels of parental nurturance, communication and knowledge were more likely to be aggressive.

"Also, early maturation only predicted physical aggression when combined with low maternal nurturance," the researchers said.

Early-maturing girls may be at higher risk of aggression or delinquency because they are more likely to be accepted by and form relationships with older boys, who are more likely than younger children to engage in undesirable behaviors, the authors note.

"Parental nurturance may decrease girls' susceptibility to negative peer influence. Also, parental nurturance may help girls cope with challenges associated with early puberty. By listening to their daughters' difficulties and providing support and encouragement, nurturing parents can help them develop better coping skills and diffuse negative emotions that might otherwise manifest as aggression," the researchers added.

Source: medindia.net

Dental Health Care

Dental Health Care is one of the best prevention programs to ensure fresh breath, healthy mouth and teeth for life. Dental diseases are not considered to be fatal. Hence very often people neglect the importance of oral hygiene. Nevertheless, the cost of dental disease in pain, suffering, treatment and loss of work is huge. Teeth are meant to last a lifetime. By taking good care of your teeth and gums, you can protect them for many years to come.

Tooth decay is not restricted to children's disease. It can occur to anyone as long as natural teeth are in the mouth. It is caused by bacteria that usually exist in the mouth. The bacteria stick to teeth and form a colorless and sticky film called dental plaque.

An important part of dental health care is to know how to brush and floss perfectly. Careful brushing each day removes plaque. In addition to brushing, using dental floss is required to keep the gums healthy. Proper flossing is imperative because it removes plaque and leftover food that a toothbrush cannot reach.

The following are the brushing Tips.Worn out toothbrushes cannot properly clean your teeth and may injure your gums. So it is recommended to replace them every three or four months. Teeth should be brushed gently with very short strokes and enough pressure so that you feel the bristles against the gums. The tips of the bristles do the cleaning, so it should not be compressed. Never use a toothbrush with very hard bristles .It can damage the gums. Teeth should be thoroughly brushed at least once a day, preferably twice in a day. Children should clean their teeth after every meal and at bedtime.

The following are the flossing tips.Flossing removes plaque and food particles from between the teeth and below the gum lines where the toothbrush can't reach. As tooth decay and periodontal disease often start in these areas, it's important to clean them thoroughly and daily. A commercial floss holder may seem helpful to use. Most children cannot floss their own teeth until age 10.

Gums may be sore and bleed for the first five or six days after you floss .It is a sign that plaque and bacteria are being removed. If bleeding does persist even after a few days it is better to consult your dentist. Exercise care while flossing as improper flossing injures your gums. Consult your dentist about how to floss properly, to avoid injuring your gums.

A healthy smile is a winner at any age. Eat a balanced diet and restrict munching snacks between meals. If you need a snack, choose nutritious foods such as raw vegetables, plain yogurt, cheese or a piece of fruit. Fluoride is important for both adults as well as children. Fluoride compounds are present in drinking water and some foods. Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Replace your toothbrush every three or four months or sooner if the bristles are worn as it won't do a perfect job of cleaning your teeth.

Apart from following a good dental health care, it is essential to have regular check-ups by the dentist whether you possess natural teeth or depend on false dentures. It is also vital to abide by with any special treatments that are required to make sure of good oral health. For example, if you have sensitive teeth caused by receding gums, your dentist may advise using special toothpaste for sometime. If you have on false dentures, keep them clean and free from food that causes bad breath and gum irritation. Make sure that you brush all the surface of the dentures with a denture care product once a day. A common cause of tooth loss after one crosses 35years of age is gum disease which is also known as periodontal disease. This occurs due to infections of the gum and bone that hold the teeth in its place. Gum diseases are also caused by dental plaque.

Remember you can have just one set of natural permanent teeth in your lifetime. Take good care of it and the reward will smile back at you every time you look at your reflection. Keep away from activities that are harmful to the teeth such as smoking, addiction to caffeine etc. A healthy mouth is indeed an indication of a healthy body. By taking care of your teeth, eating a balanced diet and visiting your dentist regularly, you can have healthy teeth and an attractive smile your entire life.

by: Mary Rose

What Does Causes Hair Loss in Women?

Women who lose their hair suffer far more from their hair loss than men. If brain death occurs in these patients, it is possible to donate their organs.

In most instances the cause of brain tumor is not known and they do not discriminate among gender, class or ethnicity.

Each year approximately 200,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with metastatic or primary brain tumor.

Common symptoms of a brain tumor include headaches, seizures, personality changes, eye weakness, nausea or vomiting, speech disturbances, memory loss.

The survival from brain tumor at five years is approximately 30%

Brain tumors can be treated by surgery, radiation therapy, stereotactic radiotherapy, chemotherapy or by using these in combination. The most important issue when treating these patients, besides trying to cure them, is to ensure that the quality of life is not compromised.

Article Source: www.medindia.net

Enterovirus 71 (EV71) Neurological Disease

Description

Enterovirus 71 (EV71) neurological disease is a rare but serious complication of infection with Enterovirus 71, a virus which can also cause hand, foot and mouth disease. Although Enterovirus 71 causes frequent outbreaks of hand foot and mouth disease, cases or outbreaks of Enterovirus 71 neurological disease are rare and mainly occur in children. Paralysis is more common in children under 2 years of age and meningitis is more common in children from 2 - 5 years of age. In 1999, Western Australia experienced an outbreak with 14 cases of meningitis and 8 cases of paralysis, 3 of which have become permanent.

Symptoms

Enterovirus 71 is one of the causes of a mild illness called hand, foot and mouth disease which usually starts with a slight fever followed by blisters or ulcers in the mouth and on the hands and feet. However, in a small number of children it may cause high fever, meningitis (inflammation of the lining of the brain), encephalitis (inflammation of the brain itself), and paralysis.

The usual time between contact with the virus and the development of the illness is approximately 3-5 days. After fever develops it usually takes 1 - 3 days before meningitis occurs, but paralysis can occur within 10 - 30 hours after symptoms begin.

Transmission

Enterovirus 71 is usually spread by respiratory droplets, through contact with the fluid in the blisters or contact with infected faeces. The virus may continue to be excreted in the faeces for many weeks.

The virus can be in the faeces for at least 2 months after symptoms develop. A person is infectious for as long as the virus is present in the faeces.

Treatment

There is no proven treatment for the virus. Treatment usually focuses on the person's symptoms.

Prevention

Good hygiene is the single most effective way of preventing the spread of the disease. Hands should be washed thoroughly in soap and water for at least 15 seconds and then dried thoroughly. It is important to wash hands after going to the toilet, touching soiled linen or articles and before preparing or eating food. Teach children to wash their hands effectively before eating or drinking and after going to the toilet.

Control

Children with hand foot and mouth disease should be excluded from child care and schools until all blisters have healed.

Children with Enterovirus 71 neurological disease should be excluded until the virus is no longer being excreted in the faeces and until a medical certificate of recovery is obtained.

Help and Assistance

For further information please contact your local doctor, community health centre, nearest population health unit, or contact Queensland Health information phone number 13HEALTH.

Related Content

Hand foot and mouth fact sheet

References

Heymann, D., ed. 2004. It translates as "the end of the monthlies." The medical definition of menopause is the absence of menstruation for 12 months. In American women, the average age for menopause is 51. However, it can occur between a woman's late thirties and her late 50s. Menopause also occurs when a woman's uterus and ovaries are surgically removed.

Perimenopause is the two to fifteen year span before menopause during which a woman experiences changes due to declining levels of estrogen and progesterone. For some women, the perimenopausal time can be more troubling than actual menopause.

Early Menopause Symptoms That You Should Take Note Of

Some of early menopause symptoms can be easily mistaken, especially if the woman is younger than 40 years old. Most women under 40 do not tend to think that they are experiencing premenopausal issues, however, it is not unheard of for young women in their 20's to begin menopause early. Following are some of the signs of early menopause that many women do experience.

1. Mood swings are often sited as an early menopause symptom;

however, there is not any conclusive research to that effect. It is now being thought that the changes in mood may be more directly related to the lack of sleep that some women experience because of night sweats. This is an especially valid idea if the woman has a history of depression, this history added to the loss in sleep can cause the mood swings.

Although you cannot prevent menopause, you can take steps, as listed below, to reduce the symptoms. Most menopausal and post-menopausal women lead full, healthy and active lives.

2. Irregular Periods, Menstrual Irregularities

Most women experience absent, short, or irregular periods at some point in their lives. A wide range of conditions can cause these symptoms, whilst the most common cause is Hormone imbalance. Your periods may come more frequently, every 24 days instead of every 28, or they may come later than they used to. You may have a light period that lasts only a few days, then the next month have very heavy bleeding. Your period may last a shorter amount of time, or go on and on for what feels like an eternity. You may skip a month, then go back to normal for several months, then skip two periods in a row.

Menstrual irregularity is most common in the midforties as you approach menopause. A lack of hormonal balance or a decrease in Estrogen production is the main cause of it. There can be medical causes for irregular periods as well, they aren't as common though.

3. Bouts of rapid heart beat

Many women have reported feeling an increase in their heart rate and have become quite frightened at this feeling. No one seems to have a firm answer about why this starts happening around the time of peri-menopause, but it seems to be related to what others call "palpitations" and also panic attacks. The main thing is to check with your doctor if this seems beyond your norm. Of course, even doctors don't suspect menopause sometimes. Oprah couldn't get a proper diagnosis on her palpatations! She went to several cardio doctors, and not one of them mentioned menopause. It was her trainer, Bob Greene who pointed it out to Oprah!!

4.Hot flushes and other vasomotor symptoms

Hot flushes is the most typical and best known symptom of menopause. Hot flushes may begin 4 years before menstruation stop, but they usually continue a year or two after menopause. Hot flushes are sudden waves of body heat, usually in the face or chest. These problems may be accompanied by flushing, palpitations, perspiration, chills or night sweats. Hot flushes are caused changes in the control of the temperature of the body.

5.Intercourse problems

Vaginal dryness and less elastic tissues are common symptoms, because of the effect of a decreased estrogen level. Vaginal dryness can cause pain and irritation during intercourse. Interest in intercourse may decline and a requirement for more stimulation to reach orgasm is also very common. Vaginal lubricants can make intercourse less painful.

6. Sleep Problem

Many women have sleep problems at some point during menopause. You may have trouble falling asleep or even more commonly you may wake in the middle of the night and have trouble falling back asleep. Another frequent symptom of menopause is known as night sweats. You may wake up in the night covered in sweat. This is nothing to be alarmed at as it is simply your hormones causing your body to heat up and the natural reaction to excessive heat is to sweat, which may be followed by chills.

Perimenopause may begin as early as 35. It starts about two years earlier for women who smoke than for women who don't. The timing is not related to race, class, pregnancy, breast-feeding, fertility patterns, birth control pills, height, age of menarche (first period), or age at last pregnancy.

The average age for menopause is 51. If menopause is reached naturally or surgically before the age of 40, it is called early menopause.

Estrogen levels drop very abruptly during surgical menopause, especially when both ovaries are removed at the same time. This often intensifies the conditions associated with menopause and may lead to major physical and emotional changes, including depression.

It is somewhat reassuring to remember that perimenopause is just a phase, that all these symptoms are temporary. For most women it will last two or three years, though for some it lasts as long as 10 or 12 years.

It is important to remember that all women need regular checkups, whether or not they are menstruating.

Although Menopause can not be prevented but steps can be taken to reduce the symptoms.

Dealing With Menopause Symptoms

Talk to your doctor about hormone replacement

Hormone replace therapy otherwise called HRT is the taking of synthetic estrogen or a both of estrogen and synthetic progesterone also know as progestin.This method will help in
• Reduction of hot flashes
• relief from Vaginal Dryness
• slow bone loss
• Relieves you from mood swings and depression

Recent researches points to the fact that though HRT helps in the control and effective management of menopause symptoms it expose one to several health problems.The study found that women on hormone replacement therapy of combined estrogen plus progestin (PREMPRO) had :

• A 41% INCREASE in strokes
• A 29% INCREASE in heart attacks
• A 100% INCREASE in the rate of blood clots
• A 22% INCREASE in total cardio vascular disease
• A 24% INCREASE in breast cancer
• A 100% INCREASE in the rate of Alzheimer's Disease (in women over 65)

For this reason, be sure to consult with a physician about the pros and cons of HRT. If you have certain health conditions, you will not be a candidate for HRT. Some of these conditions include :
• Cancers of the breast and uterus
• History of stroke or heart attack
• History of blood clots
• Liver disease

In some cases, alternative medications can be taken to help strengthen bones and to treat other menopause-related problems.

Article Source: Abayomi Aje

Bleeding Gums

Overview

* Progressive disease affecting oral cavity
* Characterized by chronic bleeding of gums
* May lead to tooth loss

Causes

* Poor oral hygiene
* Inadequate plaque removal
* Oral trauma, like toothbrush abrasion
* Inflammation caused by infection
* Vitamin C / K deficiency
* Hot food
* Chemical irritants
* Leukemia
* Pregnancy

Treatment

* Apply pressure using ice-pack
* Mouth rinse: Pinch of salt in lukewarm water
* Rinse twice a day to reduce swelling
* Consult a dentist if bleeding continues
* Avoid aspirin intake
* Massage gums regularly
* Reline poorly fitted dentures
* Take vitamin supplements if necessary

Prevention

* Avoid Tobacco
* Avoid snacking between meals
* Reduce Carbohydrate- rich food
* Remove plaque every 6 months
* Brush teeth using soft-bristled brush
* Floss teeth regularly

source : http://www.medindia.net/

Nail Fungi - Save Your Nails from Fungus

If you complain of your nails being brittle, thick, faint, dry, painful, ugly and smelly either on your foot or your hand, you are probably suffering from onychomycosis (on-i-ko-mi-KO-sis) or tinea unguium. NAIL FUNGI - the stingy monsters that migrated into your nails.

Nail Fungi Facts:

Nail fungi are the tiny, irritating organisms that breed under the nails while eating up the keratin substance. These fungi, which belong to the dermatophyte family, producer of athlete's foot, ringworm, psoriasis and jock itch, utilize our nails as protective shield, making the infection hardly treatable. Some of the sources of these fungi are yeasts and molds. They thrive in damp areas and can penetrate the nails through the small gap between the nails and your skin.

About 50 percent of all nail abnormalities fall under onychomycosis. Its effect has FIVE classifications:

1. Total dystrophic onychomycosis - the nail plate is completely ruined
2. White superficial onychomycosis - the fungus forms bright tints called "white islands" on the outer layers of the nail bed
3. Distal subungual onychomycosis - the fungus directly affects the nailbed
4. Proximal subungual onychomycosis - the fungus seeps through the proximal nail fold
5. Candidal onychomycosis - is caused by the bacterium named candida when the nails are overexposed in water)

Nail fungi usually infects the toenails more than the fingernails as they are frequently enclosed inside your shoes. Moreover, diabetic people are more susceptible to nail fungal infection. It can even get worse for them, including persons with leukemia if not given medical attention accordingly due to weakened immune system and imbalance in blood sugar level.

Nail Fungi Infects Men More Than Women?

Some researches state that resistance to fungi may be genetic and that nail fungus infects men more than women. However, without proper precautions, anybody can be infected. Nail fungi starts with slight swelling on the toes with mild irritation. Under the nails, a white or yellowish spot can be found. An unsightly discoloration, described as yellowish-brown or white as pus follows. The nails become thick and brittle and the cuticles begin to pop. Pain in the affected areas accompanies the infection.

Things can get worse and unpleasant as the infection develops. It may harm your skin precisely, so to avoid further damage, seek medical assistance immediately. Specialists recommend some over-the-counter topical treatments like Vicks VapoRub, Lamisil, Tinactin, Penlac, and Dermisil among others.

Nail Fungi Home Remedies and Prevention :

Home remedies can be helpful too. Try vinegar therapy. This requires you to soak the infected part in vinegar two times daily for a about 20 minutes until the contaminated area heals. There is most always even less put into the nails of our toes. But if we took a minute to think about all of the hard work and fun our nails contribute to daily, there would surely be more appreciation given. Our bodies have nails for the protection of our fingertips and toes, and they are also the strength at the tips to better pick up or hold, and all of the other things taken for granted.

Our nails are made of hard keratin proteins, and they rampantly grow when there are drastic changes of hormonal bouts, this is especially true during pregnancy. During the rest of the time, nails will be at their healthiest condition when we are on a good lean protein diet, and high vitamin intake of fruits and vegetables. Some of the prime vitamins for your nail's health are B-complex vitamin foods and Vitamin A foods that are the colors of orange, yellow, or dark green. Vitamin C foods, dairy products the Vitamin E supplement are all very important for your nails healthiness, too. Zinc, sulfur and essential fatty acids are also very important to be a daily part of your nail's health too. Omega 3 filled foods, such as fish are a must for good strong nails.

Now that you have created these beautiful nails from eating so well, they also need outer care too. Just as our hands and the rest of our bodies needs to be well nourished with purely natural essential oils, moisturizers, and lotions, so do the nails. Wash your hands and nails often during the day, and make sure to clean any dirt directly underneath the nails. After washing your hands with warm water and a gentle soap, apply a good hand moisturizer. Make sure the moisturizer or lotion is gently rubbed into the cuticles and around the nails, so to keep the cuticles soft and moist. This will keep the hang nails at bay, and the nails nourished to hold in a healthy amount of moister.

Set aside a few minutes once or twice a week to properly trim and file your nails This is not only a beautification of appearance for your hands, but it is important for keeping any rough edges of nails removed so to not tear them, by getting them caught on various things during your busy week. When nails are caught and torn, this usually does more damage to a nail than what can actually be seen to the naked eye. So take the time to do a quick mini-manicure. It does not take long, and it is important for your nails, while also pampering yourself!

Anita R writes for onestoptreatment.COM that provides information on all aspects of finding Nail Care The information provide by our Aromatherapy EXPERT! A latest insight has revealed that men who masturbate regularly may be doing themselves a big favor of cutting their risk of prostate cancer.

One of the most common types of cancer afflicting men, prostate cancer, is known to be risky for men above fifty years. It is estimated that annually about 35,000 men in the United Kingdom suffer cancer of the prostate. Almost 10,000 of them do not survive the disease.

During the study, the research team noted the sexual habits of 1,000 men with prostate cancer and 1,250 healthy men. The study revealed that those men who had frequent ejaculations between 20 and 50 years of age received adequate protection against the risk of prostate cancer.

So, how does ejaculation during masturbation offer such protective benefits? Is it the same with sexual intercourse?

During ejaculation, carcinogens are flushed out from the prostate gland. This happens when the prostate gland produces a fluid during ejaculation that energizes the sperms and prevents them from sticking to one another. Dr. Graham Giles, of the Cancer Council Victoria in Melbourne, added, “It’s a prostatic stagnation hypothesis. The more you flush the ducts out, the less there is to hang around and damage the cells that line them.”

According to Dr. Giles, sexual intercourse may not have the same effect due to the risk of sexually transmitted diseases. STD’s could only escalate the risk of cancer rather than mitigate it. “Had we been able to remove ejaculations associated with sexual intercourse, there should have been an even stronger protective effect of ejaculations,” he said.

Happy with the findings of the study, Anthony Smith, deputy director of the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University in Melbourne, said, “Masturbation is part of people’s sexual repertoire. If these findings hold up, then it’s perfectly reasonable that men should be encouraged to masturbate.”

Source : http://www.medindia.net/

Gastric problems

What are Gastric Problems?

* Occurs in stomach / oesophagus
* Disturbance of gastric mucosa leads to acid secretion
* Acids contact stomach nerve endings
* Causes pain / discomfort

Types

* May be acute / chronic
* Acute gastric problem reduces quickly
* Chronic gastric problems lead to ulcers

Causes

* Physical and mental stress can also cause ulceration.
* Causes of gastric mucosa inflammation:
a.
