The Governor of the Great State of Arizona met President Barack Obama on the tarmac as he got off Air Force One on a campaign stop. Jan Brewer has said that she wasn’t there for a confrontation with the President but only to welcome to the state.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer points at President Obama after he arrived at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, Wednesday, in Mesa, Ariz.

It has become apparent that the Federal government is suing her state for trying to protect themselves from the the cartels using Arizona as a shipping terminal for their much wanted cocaine while simultaneously arming the drug cartels with hundreds of automatic weapons and armor piercing artillery. She has said the President confronted her right there on the spot because she had not spoke highly of him in her recent book. I’d like to believe this image of Jan Brewer seemingly wagging her finger in Barack Obama’s face speaks most of the country.

As for me I can’t wait for the next election so we can put an end to this grand experiment of letting a young, inexperienced community organizer raised by admitted communist’s make a mockery of the office of the presidency. As for me, I’m tired of being broke, white trash poor. How about we make this period of our nation just a bad memory and bring back capitalism in 2013.

Gingrich Wins The GOP Debate In The First Five Minutes, The four remaining GOP candidates played to their individual strengths on Thursday and tried to leave a lasting impression in a final, boisterous debate two days before South Carolina’s pivotal primary.
In a campaign cycle where debates have had direct consequences on the ebb and flow of the race, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich turned his contempt for the media into one of his strongest performances yet. When CNN Chief National Correspondent John King opened the debate with a question about open marriage, following an interview by Gingrich’s ex-wife saying that he had sought one, the Republican chastised him.

Newt Gingrich Wins In South Carolina

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich overcame Mitt Romney’s so-called wave of inevitability on Saturday and surged to victory in South Carolina’s all-important first-in-the-South primary for the GOP presidential nomination.

Gingrich capitalized on unprecedented back-to-back standing-ovations in two debate performances earlier this week to fuel his late surge. He converted that momentum into a big win for his campaign in the Palmetto State, which has been a bellwether of the Republican presidential nominee since Ronald Reagan in 1980.

Gingrich leads Romney among men 38% to 25%, followed by Paul with 21% and Santorum at 13%. Among women, Gingrich leads Romney 42% to 26%, followed by Paul with 16%, and Santorum with 13%.

The American government’s response to the worldwide protest yesterday of the bills they were close to passing giving them ultimate authority to control the Internet was to raid Megaupload, a file sharing site with millions of members.

The supporters of SOPA and PIPA have picked a fight with the most intelligent group of hackers on the net. And they thought China was giving them hell.

This just in from RT.com….

Hacktivists with the collective Anonymous are waging an attack on the website for the White House after successfully breaking the sites for the FBI, Department of Justice, Universal Music Group, RIAA and Motion Picture Association of America.

In response to today’s federal raid on the file sharing service Megaupload, hackers with the online collective Anonymous have broken the websites for the FBI, Department of Justice, Universal Music Group, RIAA, Motion Picture Association of America and Warner Music Group.

“It was in retaliation for Megaupload, as was the concurrent attack on Justice.org,” Anonymous operative Barrett Brown tells RT on Thursday afternoon.

Only hours before the DoJ and Universal sites went down, news broke that Megaupload, a massive file sharing site with a reported 50 million daily users, was taken down by federal agents. Four people linked to Megaupload were arrested in New Zealand and an international crackdown led agents to serving at least 20 search warrants across the globe.

The latest of sites to fall is FBI.gov, which finally broke at around 7:40 pm EST Thursday evening.

Less than an hour after the DoJ and Universal sites came down, the website for the RIAA, or Recording Industry Association of America, went offline as well. Shortly before 6 p.m EST, the government’s Copyright.gov site went down as well. Thirty minutes later came the site for BMI, or Broadcast Music, Inc, the licensing organization that represents some of the biggest names in music.

Also on Thursday, MPAA.org returned an error as Anonymous hacktivists managed to bring down the website for the Motion Picture Association of America. The group, headed by former senator Chris Dodd, is an adamant supporter of both PIPA and SOPA legislation.
Universal Music Group, or UMG, is the largest record company in the United States and under its umbrella are the labels Interscope-Geffen-A&M, the Island Def Jam Motown Music Group and Mercury Records.

Brown adds that “more is coming” and Anonymous-aligned hacktivists are pursuing a joint effort with others to “damage campaign raising abilities of remaining Democrats who support SOPA.”
Although many members of Congress have just this week changed their stance on the controversial Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA, the raid on Megaupload Thursday proved that the feds don’t need SOPA or its sister legislation, PIPA, in order to pose a threat to the Web.
Brown adds that operatives involved in the project will use an “experimental campaign” and search engine optimization techniques “whereby to forever saddle some of these congressmen with their record on this issue.”

Hello class, today’s lesson is going to be relationship and time management advice for young husbands. Women are predictable in a sense that they all use the same phrases, disguised as conversation starters, because they always have something to say. Just remember that this is her conversation and it will be best if you interject as few words as possible. Here is the list of the statements she will use and what you can expect when you hear them.

“Just so you know.”
This statement is always going to be followed by her telling you something she did while you were gone that she feels you should have done before you left. A couple of good example of this might be, “Just so you know, I took out the trash,” or “Just so you know, I had to fill my gas tank today.” She will wait patiently and silently for your apology. Until you apologize there will a period called the “silent treatment.” There will be no further conversation, dinner will not be started, and sex will be completely out of the question until your humble apology has been given and accepted.

“Did you get paid today?”
This is always followed by everything she needs, wants, and the bills you need to pay. Whatever these things are there is one fact you need to keep in mind. These things will always, and I mean always, add up to more than your total take home pay, no matter how much or how little you make.

“I just have one thing to say.”
This means she has several things to say. The one thing is always followed by “and another thing…” Listen carefully and agree with each point she is going to make. This may take a while because the each “thing” is going to remind her of another and another. If you appear to be not listening or un-convinced that any of these things are not totally your fault, she will get stuck on each point for an extremely long period of time and this conversation might even last throughout the week. All that you need to say to shorten this conversation is “I agree and I apologize” to each point as they come up.

“I need to talk to you about something.”
This is normally used to open up a conversation in regarding her family. More specifically what your going to have to do for her family. For instance, I need to talk to you about something is normally followed by either my Mom wants to move in or my sisters husband has lost his job again and she really needs to borrow 5,000.00. You are eventually going to give in so it is best just to do it right away. There is no need in having this conversation last for weeks and you don’t want to have her Mom over hear it when she is coming up the steps of your porch hollering for you to get her bags.

“Honey?”
Now this is an interesting one, Honey is unlike any of the other conversation starting statements that she will use get you to do as she wishes. She will only use this one for the big stuff. The most interesting thing about this term of endearment is that you might have a reasonable expectation of getting something in return. Negotiate well my friend. I think you know what I mean.

“Whacha thinking?”
This is by far the most dangerous question you will ever be faced with from your spouse. Why? Because here you have to carefully consider what you are thinking and make a split second decision as to how she will feel about your answer.

For instance, you might be thinking this conversation is inconvenient right now because I am watching the debate or a sporting event. You may also be thinking you wish she would at least get your other foot in the door before the interrogation begins or even worse you might be thinking that the waitress at lunch sure was nicer to you than she is. Worst case scenario you might be thinking about disappearing, changing your name, driving as far as your paycheck will take you, and setting up a new life in a new town, free from the responsibility of having to carefully consider each answer to each question as to not start World War 3 with your new love.

These are ALL bad responses and should never be uttered. That is why all older, more experienced husbands use the standard response “nothing” when this question arises. It keeps the house calm and it doesn’t disturb the neighbors.

One more nugget I’ll leave you that you should always remember. Women are like dogs in a sense. They both can smell fear. At no time should you ever let them see you sweat. They can and will take the opportunity to turn a simple misunderstanding in to an all out attack, and you will be the one at the hospital getting that extremely painful shot in your belly button.

Well these are my hard earned lessons I am giving you young husbands out there. They are all completely true and totally free on the oneangryman blog today. Trust me, it is good advise, I have been married for 26 of my 46 years on this big ball of dirt. Thirteen years twice with numerous relationships before and in between.

Over one hundred thousand Internet users and major websites including Reddit, Google, and Facebook stopped the “Stop Online Piracy Act” (SOPA).

The US Government’s efforts to control content on the Internet by passing legislation to combat online privacy have come to a sudden stop.

“We will not support legislation that reduces freedom of expression, increases cybersecurity risk or undermines the dynamic, innovative global Internet.” It added that any proposed legislation “must not tamper with the technical architecture of the Internet.” White House statement.

The Obama administration issued a formal veto threat after thousands of us launched an email and phone campaign that nearly shut down the congressional and senatorial supporters of the bills websites. The bills were tabled in the House and the Senate as leaders ponder their next move. Tabled means putting off action on the bill indefinitely.

Sponsored primarily by purported free speech advocates that include democrats and republicans alike, the SOPA would have fundamentally transformed the internet as we know it today. As Daisy Luther writes at Inalienably Yours, the bill was nothing short of a direct attack against the first Amendment and the right to free speech:

The wording of SOPA, like NDAA, allows action by authorities only on suspicion of “wrong-doing”.

If you tick off the powers that be, and you’ve quoted someone, somewhere, saying something, you may have infringed on their copyright. As a defendant, you are not even present at the legal proceeding allowing “them” to shut you down until you prove yourself innocent. (lewrockwell.com)

Under SOPA and PIPA, not to be confused with Kate Middleton’s hot sister, search engines would have been required to remove targeted sites from their search listings. Internet Service Providers could have been ordered to block access to websites deemed to be in violation of their rules that they might make up as they go along. The bill also targeted advertising companies and and payment providers like paypal that could be forced to not do business with the websites the government deemed unacceptable. After Barack Obama signed NDAA, which nullified our Sixth and Seventh Amendment to our Constitution, the government evidently decided it could steamroll this bill through and no one would notice.

Sixth Amendment – Trial by jury and rights of the accused; Confrontation Clause, speedy trial, public trial, right to counsel
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.
Seventh Amendment – Civil trial by jury.
In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

Under and SOPA and PIPA legislation, the government would give themselves the right to control the flow of information on the Internet. Articles or videos criticizing political figures or policies could easily be targeted and shut down.

SOPA, although on hold for now, will likely be re-introduced under a different name and sent to the President for his signature. Politicians like to change the name of things to make them sound more palatable to the American public. Save the swamp went nowhere so they renamed it the “Wetlands” and environ”mental”ists in the government received no support in protecting the jungle until they started calling the “Rain Forest”.

Personally, I’ll be watching out for the “Free Internet Act of 2012″.

Dear reddit,

Today, for 12 hours, reddit.com goes dark to raise awareness of two bills in congress: H.R.3261 “Stop Online Piracy Act” and S.968 “PROTECT IP”, which could radically change the landscape of the Internet. These bills provide overly broad mechanisms for enforcement of copyright which would restrict innovation and threaten the existence of websites with user-submitted content, such as reddit.

FAQ

What is the intent of SOPA/PROTECT IP?

The stated intent of the bills is to provide tools for law enforcement and copyright holders to protect their intellectual property rights.

What’s wrong with protecting copyrights?

Nothing! The devil, as they say, is in the details. PROTECT IP and SOPA will cause too much collateral damage, have a high potential for abuse, and won’t even be that effective at stopping the crimes they target. Read alienth’s examination of where these bills fail.

I’m not in the U.S. Why does this affect me?

Many of the sites that you may use (e.g. Google, Facebook, Wikipedia, etc.) are all affected by this law and will be required to hide offending domains from you.

If a non-U.S. site is blocked in the U.S., the site could suffer financially or even be bankrupted by the loss of U.S. traffic and revenue.

What are the differences between PROTECT IP and SOPA?

At a general level, the bills are very similar. SOPA, the “Stop Online Piracy Act,” is from the House of Representatives, while the PROTECT IP Act is from the Senate. Either or both bills may pass a vote in their chamber of congress on their way to becoming law. Both must be defeated to end this threat. There have recently been more detailed explanations in an ELI5 thread and alienth’s blog post.

What about ACTA?

The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, or ACTA, is a multi-national agreement with similar goals to the U.S.-only PROTECT IP and SOPA bills. It is criticized for many of the same reasons that PROTECT IP and SOPA are, but is also concerning because it has been drafted in secret. ACTA is not the focus of this blackout but please take the time to learn more about ACTA.

I’m not a U.S. citizen. How can I help?

You can still call or e-mail the U.S. representatives (sponsors of the bills would be a good choice). However, you may want to turn your attention more towards ACTA or other over-zealous copyright bills in your country.

When will reddit be back? What should I do when it comes back?

reddit will return to normal service at 8 PM EST (0100 UTC). While our protest is temporary in nature, PROTECT IP and SOPA are not. Continue to pay attention and join the conversation in /r/SOPA when reddit returns.
