Since “the Junkyard” isn’t always usefull, I’m going to switch around “the Junkyard” with “Cataclysm Preparations”
So I’ll inform you of what I’m doing to get my money when Cataclysm comes out!

TSB has been set up a few weeks ago, and we’ve been in ICC twice right now. Since TSB is still new, and we are recruiting inexperienced raiders. Why Inexperienced? If we show them the ropes and gear them, they will have a greater sense of “loyalty”.

Why am I doing this? Why am I starting so slow with the guild? — only first 4 bosses down –
Easy… the Cataclysm guild changes. If we set up a “loyal” and “smart” core team now, it will help us then. I don’t mind learning ppl how to play for a month orso if we can take the fruits of our labor when it’s going to matter. Now this isn’t really gold related so let’s get that in here too.

So the golden preparations for Cataclysm.. yep here they come… yes, yes golden info here….

…

Sorry I was just having some fun here with leaving you all hanging… I need to get it somewhere right?

No but seriously now, I haven’t been playing a lot these days, but the time I have been playing i’m leveling my new druid. (lvl26) and against my own style I took Herbalism and Skinning as my professions.
When Cata comes out, a lot of people will be rolling Worgen/goblins.
I suspect after the first week has passed, and the speedlevelers are 85 we will see an increase in the demand of lowlevel materials. So I’m stocking up all herbs/leather from 1-40, and later on from 40-80. I don’t think the price will skyrocket, but I do think that all those materials will sell quickly if not expensive.
As I’ve said before I don’t like 2 gather proffesions for the time it takes away from leveling.
duration of leveling == 100% time needed
leveling with 2 gather prof == 100% + 20%
leveling with instances as tank/healer == 90%
with heirlooms == 70%
so if I level a healer in instances with heirlooms I should be able to level 30% faster then normal. Yet this is impossble due to the farming (which can’t be done well in instances)
So let’s say I still lose about 1/5 of my time gathering this and that. Yet this is worth the time, as the mats are sure sells. And with some luck sure sells for 200%-300% of their value.

oh well I’ll close up here before I’m going to start typing that makes no sense at all.

And here we are again with a new installment of the Back to Basics guide!

Before we are going to jump in to the fray I’ll explain whats comming next:
an Auctioneer video, lvls 58-68, 68-79 and 80. An indepth look at 80, addons, farmspots, leveling proffesions in the right way, the AH battleground etc etc. so more is comming!

Enough chit-chat… let’s get it on!

40-58 is a miners wet dream. prepare to get somewhere between 50 and 200gold for each stack of ore, 10G for your stone and 25+ for each gem. mine everything you come across while you don’t lose too much time, is an easy way to make 1K+ money before you get to 60 and while you aren’t even thinking about it. Herbalism is as always some nice gold at the side, though it isn’t as good as mining. Gromsblood sells for quite a lot of money though, just put them in stacks of 1 or 2 on the AH.
NOTE: Gromsblood is a drop from mobs!
The price of leather also goes up again and thick leather/hides can be sold for about 25-125gold a stack. (depending on server)

The REAL money comes in from gear though. You heard me! stop dissenchanting the greens guys and lads. because at level 40 shamans and Hunters get to wear mail, and warriors and paladins go for Plate. So each peice of mail/plate you find/craft that’s between the level range: 40-46ish (depends on server) needs to be put on the AH. In some cases these get bought for insane (100G+) prices. Helmet pieces do exceptionally well with a wopping 250G(!!)

If you are a dragonscale leatherworker, or a blacksmith prepare yourself for this small bit of pure profit, since it doesn’t last long.

totally out of the blue here but if you have an 80, think about boosting some lvl50’s through ST. every class gets a quest here and a lot of ppl want to pay some money for it. It ain’t much but at least it’s something if you’re bored.

The rest is pretty much the same. DE everthing that’s 50+ and dropped in azeroth, enchanting mats sell well, jc products sell well – though note that the mats are often worth more at this stage- and lw, bs and tailors draw the short straw from lvl48+.

Also DON’T buy gear at this level! since you’ll be going to Outland soon, you’ll see that the gear there outstrips your own by far.
ah well that’s it for today, short but sweet I say.

See you next time.
Same gold channel, same goldtime…

Normally I’m not in the speculating game. I focus on what’s happening now.

Yet Cataclysm is a big enough change to start thinking about it.
So my predictions for Cataclysm:
1: everything lvl 30+ is going to drop in price. If people going to buy scrolls for enchanting etc, its going to happen 1 week before cata hits or when they hit 85.
2: every low level material is going to rise a bit. Since there are going to be a lot of people who are going to roll Worgen/goblin instead of lvl to 85.
3: lvl85 crafted gear is going to be expensive for the first 4weeks. (read: 500%+ of real value)
4: gathered “stuff” is going to be expensive for the first 2weeks. (read 250%+ of real value)

Those are my predictions for Cataclysm. And sadly enough I’m going to pay for it… My lvl 80’s professions are: JC/ENCH, TAIL/ENG, LW/INSC…
NO “farmers” which means that leveling these proffesions will be a pain in the ass… big time. So what am I doing right now? I’m leveling my herbalism/skinning druid (lvl6) and my herbalism/Alchemist warrior (lvl49) to 80 to share some of the pain. I would consider doing the same and lvling those chars to lvl85 first.

So my things to do when cata hits:
1: Get realm first on my shaman. Seriously…it would bring pride and members to TSB. (my raiding guild)
2: get all proffesions to 450 as quickly and cheaply as possible.
3: ???
4: PROFIT!
5: get my Female dranei Shaman to a male dwarf… I hate playing females, but it’s still better then having a squid on my face.
6: get everyone to 85.
7: roll a worgen
8: !?!?!
9: MORE PROFIT!

If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m not in my normal doing… Somebody has it out for me. My hand healed, and now I have a 38.5°C fever…
I’m sorry if you’d noticed.

What are your thoughts of Cataclysm? What are your goals? and what are your predictions?

In the last 3 weeks orso I have been getting a lot of questions about professions. Today I’ll be awnsering the common ones for the broader public.

What are the best money making professions?

Tbh… everything. You can make money with everything. There are a couple ones that are better ofcourse. Tailoring/enchanting works really well, so does mining/JC, skinning/LW, herb/inscription. The best thing is to take one crafter, one gather proffesion untill lvl80 and make the things that give you a good (though slow) profit. Lill’ sparkys workshop can work wonders for that. Once your lvl80, work your way up to 420+ on the crafting prof. and drop the gather one. take up insc, jc or ench and start lvling it with the profit made from lvling it. once that is up to 400+ you’ll make triple money. proffesions that make good money from best to worst: JC, Ench, Ins, LW, Tailoring, mining, herb, skin, alch, BS, Eng.

Should I drop my gathering proffesion for a crafting one?

really depends, I would say yes but only if your first crafing is above 420. AND you have a nice stockpile of good/gold to lvl it further.

Should I take 2 gather professions while lvling?

Nothing wrong with that! I just don’t do it, because I don’t like to spend too much time on the side while questing/dungeoning. Yes, yes crafting takes time too. I usually gather all my mats, and after 10 lvls i go and use them all in one trek to lvl my crafting one. (while I’m afk watching some anime…hey that rhymes!..ahum)

What about engineering?

Engineering has some things that make money (bullets/arrows, bronze tubes for allaince, overcharged cap..) but most of the time it’s just fun, explosive and helpfull. My warlock has Engineering and he’s a walking timebom. Damiän is gearing for pvp, and the cloacks, rocket hands, bombs, etc make it easy to suprise my enemy’s and kick some ass. Also the mailbox and wherever you want auctioneer == great utility for bankers.

Thats it for todays questions, if you have more send them to seth.onecopper@gmail.com, twitter them or post them as a comment!

for more info, you can always check the Back to Basics guide on this site!

Now I promised you some posts last week… yet they didn’t make it to the blog.
The reason behind that is pretty simple: I lost my internet connection from Thursday until Saturday(!!!)
If that wasn’t bad enough, the roads were blocked by snow and ice, so I couldn’t get anywhere except to work and back. Something that takes 30mins. took me 4h(!) and Belgium was dozed for the third time this year with too much snow for our own good. Don’t get me wrong, since we haven’t seen a decent amount of snow for the last 10years this is a good change… but enough is enough… seriously.

So my weekend, consisted mostly of a FAIL tournament of MTG (my first ever!), some WoW, a lot of bioshock 2 and ofcourse, pleasing the wife.
Now before you say anything… I’m against Valentine, I don’t need a special day to let my girl know that I love her. She hears that plenty of times a day, gets multiple presents a year and is treated as loyalty 24/7. Sadly enough my girl does celebrate Valentine and if I don’t get her something, while she gets me something, you’ll see a dead man walking around in Dragonblight…
Oh God it’s been more then a week ago since I last opened my C++ book… Well let’s get started at that while I wait at work….
bb

Did you get a lot of gaming in this weekend? Or did you spend most of your time celebrating “Valentines Day”.

Well This is my 201st post on the Blog and in honour of it I thought I would give a little info about the site.
Don’t worry though! The B2B guide will get it’s installment tomorrow.

First of all let’s have a look at:

200 posts, with 800 legal comments, thats about 4 a post, now that ain’t half as much as Gevlon or Marcko. But it’s not as low as others either. I’m pretty happy with the amount and quality of comments received on the blog. I also have 4 different “pages” with 55 total different topics and 38 of them are used here at the new site. Some older topics have been disposed of.

I can’t really say what I personally loved over these past months but I know that I met some great people. A great example of this is the Group Therapy session that I really really miss. (Example: The Pet Show!)

Translation of above part: You are a great reader, and I love reading other – greater and better – blogs!

This is a shot of my best month so far (November) 12K readers! I was absolutely stunned! Now with my absence and the December Holiday that just passed my reader count is dropping and hangs around 8K. Oh yeah, there is Dutch text in the pic. but since I’m flemish I’m not apologizing for that one. *smile*

What is the post you liked most here at One-copper.com so far? and which one did you hate?

the site has evolved. (old site) I’m using Twitter! And I’ve learned a lot in the process. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I have, and got some useful info out of it.

There are only 2 things for me left to say:
Thank you for Reading
and
A fortune starts with one copper!

Few… It feels like forever since I’ve last been here (on this page writing a post)…
And tbh It is. Not only have I been a terrible poster in January, my heart wasn’t in it as well. For better or for worse though, thats going to change.

Starting 23th of Feb. <TSB> (The Spirit Blade) is making a comeback on Ravenholdt-EU. I’m getting /W of all the old guildmembers, that they badly need TSB again. That + the fact that I actually have time again, and that my former officer and rl friend can free up some time too gave us the courage to start again.

Soooo… the blog is getting a fresh start, the guild is starting again and well happy thoughts all around!

On the gaming front:
Warlock lvl78… I <3 and Hate him at the same time. I can dish out 2+K dps on trash and about 1.8K on bosses. Sadly enough it's impossible to punsh it out in a dungeon. I don't know what is wrong with the tanks these days, or if it's just affli but I seem to get "AGGRO" -- flashy flashy red borders... -- all over my screen after the 2nd SoC explodes. In pvp it's just awesome. dotting everyone up while running, if I see 2+ I pop my shield SoC 2, DC 1 (5K life back), and UA if I'm still standing. Yes I die - a lot. But the moment I rez it's "Killing Blow" x3-5 times. And that ladys and gentlemen puts a giant, wicked smile on my face.
I stopped my subscription for STO already, it's good but it's no match for EVE or WoW. EVE's economic and pvp system surpass STO by a mile, while WoW does the same for everything else. It isn't a bad game, but it isn't "great" either. Sorry but byebye!
I started MGT (Magic: The Gathering) and are planning to pursue that a bit further AND qualify for the PROtour. Which means I have to end up in the top 64 in Belgiums GrandPrix. (wish me luck).

Personal notes:
Lot of work… Lot of studying.
But… IM GOING TO JAPAN!!!!!!
Seriously in September I leave on a 1month trip to Japan.. can’t wait to go there!

Well that’s it for today. I hope you have enjoyed the post, and join me again on this wonderful trip that’s called WoW
