India bottomed in 2003. Over the last 40 years, the rates have fluctuated from
a low of ~5% to a high of ~13% as shown in the graph below:  









Currently, the interest rates on FD are hovering at just under 10%. For R2I-ers, these rates sound excellent as the best rates for Certificate of Deposits (CD) in the US are well under 4%, not to mention &lt;br/&gt;
