After 2 years and 75 000 upload views, YouTube monetized my One Hundred Jobs YouTube channel as part of their new monetization program. I was shocked that they finally extended the offer; it means that I can finally make ad revenue on all of my vlog episodes!

It's slightly overwhelming, though, because I spent hours this weekend reviewing my old content (how far I've come!) and filling out copyright info for over 100 videos. I will also be seeding my banked content on sites like Reddit and Buzzfeed soon, in hopes of getting a new influx of traffic and now valuable views.

Confession: I'm especially anxious because the new monetization option makes me want to immediately release a bigger, better second season of OneHundredJobs. I want Google to become one of my bigger clients and I want to be YouTube famous (the new fame!!!!!). Getting monetized brings me closer to that goal, which is an accomplishment I should be proud of after years of hard work and commitment to the unclear path.

IN OTHER JOBS:

I still do not have 1000 fans for Job 28, as arbitrary as some could argue the number/challenge to be, but I'm creating a "Psychology of Like" video next week that will hopefully push me into the completion zone. For Job 89, Mobovivo locked down the next two weeks to finish my voiceover work for them, so I am considering Job 89 complete. As for Job 99 and Job 100, I met with a Canadian stamp expert last week who thinks that my Canadian stamps are worth nothing (which I already knew) and who referred me to an American stamp appraiser. It looks like I will likely make more money selling stamps on E-bay individually than through a dealer, a task that I will undertake in the upcoming weeks.

Finally, for Job 100, I have sold over $1000 of Twitter advertising on MillionDollarTwitPage. Early adopters like the discount fashion and lifestyle retalier Dinstinct, InfoSecurity.pro pro Todd Plesco and the amazing Italian beer Birra Moretti all purchased squares. Remember, it's only as little as $100 to buy Twitter advertising for 7 years and be a part of our new vlog, which we intend to do interesting things with:

The 100th job setback I alluded to last week: our first sponsor, who shall remain nameless, deceived us and pulled out of the MillionDollarTwitpage project without paying for her month of ads, so I had to reedit the first episode of the MillionDollarTwitPage vlog and revise our sponsorship pitch package. However, her unethical behaviour did not kill our commitment to the project and I will continue to sell squares and create YouTube promotional content for the businesses who buy in for as long as there are spaces remaining. It's my job.

Before retirement, the jobs never end!

2 Years and New Mountains

It's hard to believe it's been exactly two years since I launched 100 Jobs. I am so very close to finishing this project and moving on to new ventures, despite some recent setbacks, which I'll get into later this week. My one request: if you haven't already, please fan me on Facebook because I need 1000 fans to close Job 28. I am doing a draw at fan 500 and 1000 and creating a credit video of everyone who fans me.

I'm saving the speeches for another day, and wanted to share with you this year's Yellow Page Mountain, in English and in French. This time, I want to deliver my new mountain, which will likely be converted into a sculpture, to the appropriate government office and lobby for opt-in legislation.

I can't think of a better way to celebrate my two year anniversary than some Social Media Art and Internet activism,

Job 99: Surprise Philatelist?

Have you ever fantasized about buying a painting at a garage sale and hitting the jackpot during an appraisal on the Antiques Roadshow? Or have you ever had the common dream about stumbling upon a big bag of cash that you could keep? That may have just happened to me today because I took a risk and shelled out $70.00 for a stamp collection at a second hand store.

I bought the stamp collection at the Salvation Army, which is pictured in part, for $70.00 Canadian. The stamps were all tossed into a large Ziplock bag. They wanted $75.00, I offered $35.00 and we settled on $70.00. It contains at least a thousand stamps, some in mint condition.

The collection contains both American and Canadian stamps from as early as the turn of the 20th century.

The stamps pictured here are worth $18.99
EACH.

TL;DR I may have bought over $5000 in stamps for $70.00.

I met a ~~llama~~ man named Andrew Henderson when I noticed a Twitter RT with the awesome animated avatar above and began to follow him. Andrew's been trading objects for years, having been inspired by my pal Kyle Macdonald to embark on global up-trades of interesting objects.

Recently, he was inspired by the MillionDollarHomepage to launch a similar advertising project with animated logos. He contacted me to brainstorm about his idea and I came up with the idea of creating a Twitter social media advertising page, now known as the MillionDollarTwitpage.

Much like the original MillionDollarHomepage, each pixel costs $1.00 and the minimum area one can purchase is $100, which is fitting because I used to charge $100 minimum per client for this project; it's a poetic return to my base rate. Our idea is that the buzz generated by attaching this project to my final job and the reworking of a clever retro web advertising idea will get our pixel purchasers much needed social media marketing. So far, we already have interest from a celebrity entrepreneur.

Now it's my job to write a clever press release for blogs and traditional media, roll out the promotion on the social web and sell my way to Job 100. Would it ever happen any other way?

Buzzfeed Boost!

Much to my semi-surprise, I submitted an LOLpervs.com video on Buzzfeed yesterday and it wound up getting featured on the Buzzfeed Culture homepage. My video is at well over 7 000 views in just a day, even though YouTube's counter is slow to catch up. For those who don't know, I consider the monetization of LOLpervs.com to be Job 69 of this project.

Behind the scenes info: I swallowed Visine drops accidentally during filming,

which are actually quite toxic and I got a huge tummy ache.

In short, I almost won a Darwin Award for this video!

I have to say, Buzzfeed is an invaluable tool in pushing and marketing original content. I hope this boost is one of many breakthroughs in revenue generating traffic for LOLpervs. I'm also up YouTube subscribers, which is super awesome. I'm aiming for your success, Ray William Johnson!

In other videos, I also shot a humorous parody audio commentary for a free YouTube feature film with my boyfriend last night. It's compressing right now and it will be the longest video that I've ever uploaded to YouTube. You will either find our tipsy antics hilarious or highly annoying. Such is YouTube!

Laval Tourism hired me to experience and document a day of extreme sports in Laval. Here's the first activity on the list, indoor surfing at Maeva Surf Laval, with my son Max:

I was afraid at first, but wound up having a great time. I'd actually do it again and try the advanced surfing next time.

Max loved it and was sad when it was over!

Job 8: Running Man and Planking Flash Mob for Charity

Job 8 is one of those jobs that has been pending for an eternity, which is pretty much since the beginning of my project. Originally, Cheryl Roett of CIR Realty in Calgary, Alberta, wanted me to entertain residents at an elderly person's residence, but when I was turned down by two different residences, I was forced to change the idea. I tried creating an epic unitard flash mob in June with a friend, but rain ruined the event.
