Denim Jacket/Plaid

Tommy: I’ve envisioned this outfit to be a fitting everyday look for an evil queen. From the acid-washed denim, moto style jacket to the snakeskin boots, there is a sleekness and edginess to this aesthetic that I love. I felt so powerful and confident in this get-up. The H&M graphic tee served as the perfect accent to break through some of the darker textures and corrosive textures.

Sailor Stripes

Our outfits can be succinctly described as sailor boys meet dapper casual. Zara has a fantastic collection of striped shirts out now that be worn in numerous, everyday settings: 1) a yacht, 2) picnic or 3) the office cubicle like we do. Colored stripe shirts add that perfect amount of visual interest one needs to anchor their outfits, and it’s one of those pieces that can easily be layered or accessorized upon.

Here’s us in Raven Denim jeans! We’re still so stoked that the folks over at Raven Denim were kind enough to send us two pairs of their new, Spring 2012 mens jeans for our photoshoot this week. On the whole, we love the use of soft, durable denim fabric and exquisite fits. Get them here!

Ernie: For my outfit, I wanted to keep simple and casual. I love how a light blue shirt compliments so well with a pair of navy denim and black boots.

Raven Denim

There’s something about LA-bred denim that is different than anything else. We all know that. A great pair of jeans can truly elevate any outfit. Casual and unpretentious is how we like it most of the time (away from work, client meetings and formal occasions, of course).

Which is why we are currently crushing over the carrot top and skinny denim from Raven Denim’s mens collection. These jeans have been seen on the likes of Bradley Cooper and Gavin Rossdale! Can’t wait to get our hands on ours :)

This past week has been incredibly sunny in Los Angeles. The occasional, windy breezes, however, prompted us to sport our latest finds from Chicago, which includes an asymmetrical shirt from Opening Ceremony found at Nordstrom Rack (Ernie) and a Topshop angora sweater paired with ombre pant from Zara (Tommy).

Ernie: I’ve always been more of a resourceful shopper. Nordstrom Rack fits the bill when it comes to finding high-end designer garb on the dime. I really lucked out with my OC asymmetrical shirt!

Tommy: Most of what I am wearing are from the women’s section at Topshop and Zara. I often encourage petite guys, like myself, to peruse the women’s section, especially the sales racks (!), to see what they can find. Nowadays, the bulk of womenswear is borderline androgynous and unisexual. I literally gasped when I spotted this angora sweater by its lonesome on the sales floor of Topshop!

Ever wondered who is behind most of the extraordinary images captured of us on our blog? That person is Liz, a fellow co-worker of ours at the agency. Not only does she manage some of our client accounts, Liz has an eye and knack for photography!

As some of you may know, OSOG went on a brief business trip in the Windy City (Chicago) this past week. We loved it! Staying at The Drake, in the midst of the Magnificent Mile, was certainly a welcome change to the urban sprawl of Los Angeles.

Tommy: Finally breaking into the Yohji Yamamoto hybrid high-tops I’ve been obsessing over since their debut on the runway back in FW 2010. Unfortunately, you don’t see much of them in the pictures taken above. (No worries though - the shoes definitely deserve a standalone blog post in the near future!). I love the contrast between the shoes and formal wear I had on. It is very Kanye-esque.

Classics are a must for Spring apparel — whether it’s a beige peacoat or a crisp, white shirt!

Tommy: I love the shape the draped peacoat forms, instead of conventionally wearing it as another layer. The pop of color from the multi-color jumper keeps me warm but transitions into Spring quite well. Kept the bottom half of the outfit relatively simple with denim and camel.

So do you guys work in the Fashion Industry? Because I've been so into Fashion, but idk what to study to get involved in it.

Both of us actually work for an interactive agency doing creative and content development. However, Tommy does freelance work for a fashion label on the side. Here’s Tommy’s response:

It all depends on what aspect of fashion you want to get into. Are you looking into apparel design or the business side of it? There’s also marketing, in-house graphics design as well as public relations. A lot of people who work in the fashion industry, including the designers themselves, did not necessarily go to Parsons, FIT or FIDM. They probably didn’t even majored in fashion, although you may have a better opportunity to network and be exposed, early on, to the industry in doing so.

What I highly recommend, as an alternative to pouring in an exorbitant amount of money into an education at one of the premiere fashion schools, is to commit yourself to as many internships in the field as possible. I am sure many would disagree with me on this, but it is a route I have personally experienced and advocate for!

This is us keeping it real and casual. Let’s be honest — when the warm weather hits, who has time (and the tolerance) for layers?

Tommy: Wearing a billowy, vintage polka dot blouse shirt that I scored from the Pasadena Rose Bowl flea market! It’s quickly become one of my favorite pieces, because it blows up quite nicely in the occasional breezes we’ve been getting lately. Paired it with my navy cropped pants to give it that monochromatic aesthetic, which is all the rage this Spring. And those Zara, sneaker oxfords I picked up from a sample sale a few years back are unbelievably comfortable and a mainstay in my wardrobe — time and time again!
