<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">He has teamed up with ecommerce entrepreneur on the Brown Box Formula training product.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/online_profits/2013/05/the-brown-box-formula-with-ryan-deiss-ezra-firestone.html" target="_self">The Brown Box Formula With Ryan Deiss &amp; Ezra Firestone</a></span></p>
<h2><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>Ezra Will Build A Brown Box Business</strong></span></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">One of the best forms of prrof is demonstration and in this product launch, Ezra Firestone has promised to build a brown box business to show you how easy it is to do, when you know what needs to be done.
</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">He's going to do it within 7 days with the public goal of making a sale.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">He admits that it might not work but he's going to have a go.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">And then he will give it away to one of the people who are interested.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">My advice is to:</span></p>
<ol>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Read the Brown Box Report - <a href="https://digitalmarketing.infusionsoft.com/go/bbr/a279%20" target="_blank">you can get it here free</a> (affiliate link)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Decide if building and owning an ecommerce store is something that you could be interested in</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If so, watch Ezra demonstrate how it is done.</span></li>
</ol>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If it still looks like something that you can see yourself doing to earn money, consider investing in the product.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Take the training, decide if it is really you and if not, get your money back under the guarantee. But if it is you, create your ecommerce store. Work on getting more traffic and improving conversion rates.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Then when it's working nicely, providing you with regular income, think about building another.</span></p><xhtml:img xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/online_profits/~4/YKYWB9VRl2E" height="1" width="1" /></div></content>

<content type="xhtml" xml:lang="en-US" xml:base="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/online_profits/"><div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The latest product launch promotion from Ryan Deiss is called the <strong>Brown Box Formula</strong> and it's a joint venture with <strong>Ezra Firestone</strong>.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="https://digitalmarketing.infusionsoft.com/go/bbr/a279" target="_blank">The Brown Box Report</a> - affiliate link<br /></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">This product sees Ryan move away from information product marketing to selling real products.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">At last you may think. There are only so many people who can earn a good living selling information and developments like the Kindle are reducing the premium priced sectors of the market.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">And perhaps the idea of being an "expert" who writes ebooks, records audio and video training programs after doing a massive amount of research fills you with dread.<br /></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">But of course, you can have an info-product about selling real stuff.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">What Is The Brown Box Formula?
</span></strong></h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The Brown Box Formula is the strategy and tactics that Ezra Firestone has developed, tested and proven for selling physical products online.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Ezra has also brought in other ecommerce experts to share their experience and knowledge with the entrepreneurs who buy this training product.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Is Ecommerce Easy?</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you've tried it or spoken to a friend who has tried it, then you'l know that there are plenty of mistakes you can make while you're trtying to create your ecommerce store and build up the brand reputation.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">After all, you are competing with Amazon, eBay and many specialist retail giants.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">That could put you off and make you think that it's not for you or it could make you more determined to learn from the people who have succeeded doing what you want to do.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">That's the gap filled by the Brown Box Formula.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">People Look For Products</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">When you're selling info-products, you have to create demand for it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">For physical products, people are already buying and already searching.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You just have to turn your traffic skills and copywriting skills to selling physical products.</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The Product Launch Process For The Brown Box Formula</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I'm sure you are familiar with the product launch process where how to information is provided to help you to see that what initially looks difficult (if not impossible) can be done if you know the secrets of success.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Paul Simister</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">P.S. - Don’t believe in the power of the brown box? Ask yourself how YOU felt the last time you came home and found a little brown box waiting for you? Yep, you can leverage that same feeling to build your future online.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The Brown Box Business Building Challenge</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">In the short video before you download the report, the guy says that he will build an ecommerce business before your eyes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you've ever wanted a real products business on the Internet, I recommend you make the time to watch his progress. Even if you don't buy the training later on, I think you will learn a lot.<br /></span></p>
<h3><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Is The Brown Box Report Worth Reading?</span></strong></h3>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The subtitle of the report is...</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">"How to Get Amazon, eBay, Overstock, Sears, Etsy and Google Shopping to Build You an Online Business – and Pay You During The Process"</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">That makes it clear that you are leveraging other websites rather than trying to do everything on your own.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The basic messages are:</span></p>
<ol>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Selling info-products is an iffy business, selling real products is more fulfilling (except of course that Ezra and Ryan are selling an info-product here).</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Customers love to buy stuff and it's exciting to receive new things.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">There's little slick persuasion needed for selling things that people want to buy (not sure about that one  you don't buy from every ecommerce store you visit, do you? However I do buy a lot of things online.)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">An ecommerce business is one that you can be proud of when you tell your Mum and Dad, friends and family what you do for a living. (It certainly feels more real than saying you sell ebooks on breeding hamsters but let's not underestimate the pride in being seen as an expert.)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You will be wanted by people who make or import products.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You're building a real business and not one linked to your personal brand and reputation. You can sell it if you get tired of it and want to move on to another challenge.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Online shopping has been growing for years and is expected to continue to take business from the shopping malls and high streets of the world.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">People are no longer afraid of buying on the Internet.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">There are plenty of channels you can use to put your offers in front of customers - think eBay, Amazon, Google Products and many more. This can be that you can do this wothout a website although Ezra recommends that you have your own Internet property as well.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">There are only four steps - find products to sell, get a platform to sell from, get traffic, add value to customers.</span></li>
</ol>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The report ends with a tease:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">"Do you know the 5 secret words to get any manufacturer to give you their rock bottom wholesale price and treat you like a million dollar buyer in the process?"</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The answer is in the next free report from Ezra.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Is the report worth reading?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Yes if you're interested in having a brown box ecommerce store.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Does it deliver on the subtitle?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">No I don't think it does. I was expecting to get tips to help traditional product businesses to sell through the giant websites and they didn't appear.<br /></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">It spends most of the time selling you on the opportunity.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I think that's OK. You need to get involved in the launch process, even if you want to do it yourself rather than buying the Brown Box Formula training product. This is a report to read now and not leave it as just general reference material to read sometime.<br /></span></p>

<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Beware Of Brown Box Formula Reviews</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I hate it when affiliates try to con people.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">This is a brand new product.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I've been a very successful, award winning affiliate for Ryan Deiss in the past and had the opportunity to review the product to write a detailed guide to how it's for and who it's not for.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Not this time.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Who Shouldn't Buy This Info Product</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The marketing is usually compelling for these product launches.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Each and every one of them sound like a great way to make a lot of easy and quick money.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I think you should be sceptical and go into it with your eyes open.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you keep buying training products and you don't do anything with them:</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You don't consume the product by watching the videos or listening to the audios: or</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You learn but you don't earn because you don't take action</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I think you need to think very carefully before you waste more money. Ask yourself what is different this time? I believe some people aren't cut out to work for themselves.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">To be a business owner and entrepreneur, you need to be a self-starter, ready to make decisions and take the initiative. Employees are usually told what to do or at least have goals set for them, even if how they accomplish the goal is left up to them.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Business owners have to take responsibility and take action.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Creating an ecommerce store is another way to use your Internet knowledge but if you've tried and failed with info-products and selling local Internety services, why do you think you will suceed this time?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You don't have to tell me but I think you do have to answer the question for yourself. Imagine your wife or husband asked that question. What would you say?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you pass that test, I think you should also be aware of the opportunity seeker / business vision issue.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">This is what made Rich Schefren famous and successful with his first free report, the <a href="https://schefren.infusionsoft.com/go/IBMR1/spinone/" target="_blank">Internet Business Manifesto</a> (affiliate link).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I would be vary wary about buying the Brown Box Formula at the moment if you don't feel drawn to any particular product types and niches.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The more vague about the type of products you want to sell, the more I'd worry. The clearer you are, the more I'd think that you're likely to press ahead.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I was listening to Ezra and he's set up about 30 store websites. You don't have to stay in your starting niche market but I think you need to be clear on where you'd like to start.<br /></span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Who Should Buy The Brown Box Formula</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you want to build an online business that you're proud of and which you can easily explain to friends, family and associates because it sells real, physical products, then this could be for you.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you've bought info-products in the past and you have good traffic generation and copywriting  / conversion skills but you don't have the enthusiasm to create and sell an info-product yourself, then ecommerce could be the answer.<br /></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">It's partly going to depend on the guarantee. Because it's a new course, I can't confirm how good it is.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I trust Ryan Deiss based on his past products with other JV partners and I don't believe that he'd risk his reputation selling cr*p.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Can You Find A Niche Market To Differentiate Yourself?</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The Internet is the biggext connector o customers with suppliers.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">It is a huge global market and that brings the advantage of making tiny niches profits with specialist demand from all of the world (<a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/the_business_coaching_blo/2007/12/the-long-tail-b.html" target="_self">The Long Tail</a>) there has never been anything like it for creating price competition.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You just have to look at the Amazon marketplace for commodity products like books, CDs and DVDs. There are plenty of people who will shave a few pence off the existing lowest price and eat into their profit margins.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Ultimately the only profit is from the post and packaging charge.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Can you find a specialist niche that will avoid the worst of the price competition?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Ezra himself has had big success selling mullet wigs. It's not a market that I'd have thought about but if you're going to an 80s party, it might be right for you.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">My Overall Thoughts On The Brown Box Formula</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">This is on the idea rather than the considered deliberation of having reviewed the course. Remember it is new so you shouldn't trust people who in June 2013 are making big claims.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I very much welcome the focus on selling real products on the Internet although I don't think:</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">It's going to be easy... although if you're persistent and it works, you can make a good income.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You're going to have to create something special with a reason for people to come back and buy again.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You will have to deal with the issues of customer service, delivery and sending products overseas.<br /></span></li>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">That was when Google introduced its first Google Penguin update and devastated my traffic from organic searches.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Previously algorithm changes had been good for me because I try to create good content (most fo the time). And I haven't done much dodgy link building or at least, that's what I thought.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>13 Months Later Google Penguin 2.0 Is Here

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Google's Matt Cutts warned us that Penguin 2.0 was coming and on May 22 2013, it was unleashed.</span></p>

</span>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">From the SEO blogs I've seen so far, there is some whinging.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Its too early for me to comment.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I gave up tracking my position in the SERPs for particular keywords years ago.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">All that matters to me is traffic.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Did I get the click or not?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The word from Google is</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">"About 2.3% of English-US queries are affected to the degree that a regular user might notice."</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The original Penguin update in April 2012 affected about 3.0%.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The cynic in me says that only 3% were getting any significant traffic from Google then and the number is less now.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong>Are The Search Results Better?</strong></span></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I want Google to clamp down on black hat SEO that I'm much too squeamish to try. What I'm not so keen on is when they hit me where it hurts when I'm trying to use common sense to make pages relevant and to focus attention on those best quality pages that I've spent a lot of time creatying great content for.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">My criticism of the first Google Penguin update was that the search results were terrible.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">&gt;&gt;&gt; <a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/online_profits/2012/10/how-bad-is-google-search-in-2012.html" target="_self">How Bad Is Google Search After The Penguin Update?</a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">One of my test phrases is Uncertainty Syndrome - this was the title of a free Rich Schefren report to promote the Guided Profit System.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">For some reason I checked it and everything pointed to sick building syndrome.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">After Penguin 2.0, the SERPs look better.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I'm ranked at #5n or #6 depending on whether I use Google.com or Google.co.uk behind an exact match domain, Rich Schefren's own website and an Amazon book on Sick Building Syndrome and the Problem of Uncertainty.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I worry about the Google search results.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I want traffic but I also want to find quality websites.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/online_profits/2012/08/is-google-search-broken-to-boost-ppc.html" target="_self">Is Google Search Broken To Boost PPC?</a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The first penguin update was so dramatic, I queried their motives.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I also have concerns at the issue of penalising websites for bad linking creates the opportunity for negative SEO.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/online_profits/2012/10/negative-seo-the-google-disavow-links-tool.html" target="_self">Negative SEO &amp; The Google Disavow Links Tool</a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">We want to concentrate on creating good quality content rather than worrying about detecting malicious linking campaigns.</span></p>

<content type="xhtml" xml:lang="en-US" xml:base="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/online_profits/"><div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I've read a lot of rubbish after the Google Penguin update created havoc for most people who had used search engine optimisation (SEO) techniques to get webpages and websites ranked.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Google shifted the line between white hat and black hat SEO and effectively now penalises anyone for optimising too aggressively.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The problem is that what Google thinks is over-optimisation and what the SEO-informed person does is entirely different.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I read the book, <strong>SEO 2013 &amp; Beyond by Dr Andy Williams</strong> and thought it talked a great deal of sense.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You can read my review of <a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/business_books/2013/04/seo-2013-beyond-by-dr-andy-williams.html" target="_blank">SEO 2013 &amp; Beyond</a> on my <a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/business_books/" target="_blank">Business Books Blog</a>.
</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I expect the Google algorithm to continue to develop because I don't think the 2012 versions of the penguin update have the balance right. As is often the case, there has been an over-emphasis away from deliberately optimised pages.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">My view is that if someone uses SEO, they want the page to be read. Some sites may be prepared to deliver crap content to the readers but the majority want the reader to land on the page, read and then follow the call to action. That doesn't happen when the website is extremely poor quality.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The book might not have the entire answers for the future of SEO after Google Penguin but I recommend you read <a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/business_books/2013/04/seo-2013-beyond-by-dr-andy-williams.html" target="_blank">SEO 2013 &amp; Beyond by Dr Andy Williams</a>.</span></p><xhtml:img xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/online_profits/~4/_7Vh302njZo" height="1" width="1" /></div></content>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">See <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2013/mar/28/amazon-fees-hike-third-party" target="_blank">Guardian article</a>, <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/mediatechnologyandtelecoms/digital-media/9960889/Amazon-facing-trader-backlash-after-raising-fees-by-up-to-70pc.html" target="_blank">Telegraph article</a>, <a href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/sellers-revolt-as-amazon-hikes-fees-for-traders-by-up-to-70-per-cent-8554116.html" target="_blank">Independent article</a></span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Amazon Marketplace - Good For Customers, Good For Market Traders And Good For Amazon</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">As a loyal customer of Amazon, I welcomed the growth of the marketplace facility because, as far as I was concerned, it kept the Amazon offers honest and stopped them abusing their vast Internet power (see <a href="http://www.differentiateyourbusiness.co.uk/bargaining-power-of-suppliers-uses-abuses" target="_blank">suppliers bargaining power</a>).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I also thought it was an excellent way for ecommerce websites to get more eyeballs on their offers. This is an essential element in the growth of any small business (see <a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/the_business_coaching_blo/2012/12/the-six-steps-profit-formula-free-report-pdf.html" target="_blank">The Six Steps Profit Formula Report</a>).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Such is the dominance of Amazon and eBay, many consumers don't even both with a search engine when they want to buy, they go straight to their preference website and use its search facility to find the offers.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If ecommerce stores aren't on one or both, they miss out on many of the buyers.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">It was also good for Amazon because they earn a small fee and increase the range of products offered. I've read that nearly 40% of trades have been done with Marketplace suppliers.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The Impact Of The New Amazon Marketplace Fees</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">It appears to me that this might be good for Amazon but at the expense of customers and Martplace traders. Ultimately it may even be bad for Amazon.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Let me explain.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you're a marketplace trader, what are you going to do:</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Still list at the old prices?</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Still list but increase the selling price to recover the fee (bad for the consumer)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Stop listing and therefore miss out on sales</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">It seems to me that the preferred option is going to be the second one although <a href="http://www.differentiateyourbusiness.co.uk/competitive-rivalry-the-most-powerful-of-the-five-forces" target="_blank">competitive rivalry may nudge prices down</a> slightly although Amazon has always been high competition, low margin business because the lowest price / good service offer wins.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">That may tilt the balance back in favour of Amazon's own goods on offer or it may mean that Amazon becomes a more expensive place to shop than eBay.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">eBay already has lower fees than Amazon and pays its suppliers faster through Paypal.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">This could mean that consumers start switching away from Amazon which turns two losers and one winner into three losers.</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">What Do You Think?</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I'd like to know what you think about this increase in Marketplace fees so please leave me a comment.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">My niggle at the moment concerns the spell checking facility in Typepad.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Something on my PC highlights mis-spelt words in just about very other application I use and I've got very used to looking for the highlighted items and correcting them.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">But with Typepad, nothing is highlighted and when I click on the spell checking menu item, it works briefly and then turns itself off.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">That's irritating because you don't notice when it's on and then goes off.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I'm using Firefox.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I did a Google search on spell checking Typepad blogs and I'm told that if you look at the html version, then Firefox will highlight mis-spellings.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I guess that's better than nothing but I do find it irritating.<br /></span></p><xhtml:img xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/online_profits/~4/OGOy3VV6CuM" height="1" width="1" /></div></content>

<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">What Do I Think About The Free Traffic Loophole Report</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Is the report worth reading?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Yes. Ryan Deiss is an extremely successful Internet marketer and it's always worth giving his free materials some attention.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The idea will appeal to people who don't like writing.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Ryan goes into detail on how to implement this idea although you will be wondering how is this method free?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you're a blogger or you want a blog to promote your business, you should read the report because it will make you question how you've been working.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="https://digitalmarketing.infusionsoft.com/go/ftloophole/a279" target="_blank">Free Traffic Loophole Report</a> - affiliate link<br /></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">There is some hype here.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I've always thought it makes more sense to publish content written by other people than it is to try to hawk by content out to other blogs.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">And I'm surprised that many other people don't think the same because creating enough content is a big challenge, both in terms of ideas and time.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">There Are Two Types Of Authority</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Let's cut straight to the chase.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">There are two types of authority and you need to decide which you are aiming for:</span></p>
<ol>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">An authority blog</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Personal authority</span></li>
</ol>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">These aren't mutually exclusive but to get both, you need to work harder than you would to only achieve one or the other objective.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you want an authority blog, you want to bring in original content and publish it on the blog.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you want to build personal authority, you need to be publishing your articles on other people's blogs.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Who are you doing this for?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You or your target audience?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Is it most important that your audience is exposed to the very best ideas in your niche? If so, bring in guest writers and then use the popularity of the blog to boost your own profile.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Or is it most important that your particular ideas are exposed to the widest possible audience. This is more about you and your reputation than your readers. get your contents on other websites.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">What Do You Think About The Free Traffic Loophole Report?</span></strong></h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">It's written by Ryan Deiss and his Digital Marketer team and it's free to download. It is of course leading to the launch of some new training about creating blogs that are authority sites in a niche market called <a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/online_profits/2013/03/ryan-deiss-authority-roi.html" target="_blank">Authority ROI</a>.<br /></span></p>

<p><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">What Happens When You Click On The Link</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You will be taken to a Facebook page.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">It seems that the launch will be done through Facebook and I groaned when I heard about that idea.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I hate Facebook. I guess I'm the wrong age or something.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Fortunately you don't need to login or any of that stuff. At least I didn't.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The page looks like a fairly normal squeeze page.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<a class="asset-img-link" href="https://digitalmarketing.infusionsoft.com/go/ahack/a279" style="display: inline;" target="_blank"><img alt="Facebook_squeeze" border="0" class="asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00e54eda59128833017c37d7b3fb970b" src="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54eda59128833017c37d7b3fb970b-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Facebook_squeeze" /></a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">and when you've typed in your email address, you'll be taken away from Facebook to the authorityRoi website.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You'll see a 2 minute video from Ryan Deiss explaining why he thinks blogging is broken.<br /></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<a class="asset-img-link" href="https://digitalmarketing.infusionsoft.com/go/ahack/a279" style="display: inline;" target="_blank"><img alt="Blogging_is_broken" border="0" class="asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00e54eda59128833017ee97ac4d8970d" src="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54eda59128833017ee97ac4d8970d-800wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Blogging_is_broken" /></a><br />Ryan says that it's broken because last year, his company made a big effort at content marketing with blogs but it didn't work.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">At least not as well as he wanted for the effort that blogging takes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">You can download the report immediately blow the video.<br /></span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The Authority Hacks Report Review</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The report tells the story of Ryan Deiss's experience in a new market niche where he wasn't known with a website - SurvivalLife.com.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Ryan then goes on to talk about three big issues:</span></p>
<ol>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Switch from a clean to cluttered website design.<br /><span style="color: #fcfae1;">.</span><br />Yes it's counter-intuitive but if you read what he says, it will make sense and it's proven in the real world of retailing.<br /><span style="color: #fcfae1;">.</span><br /></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Stop blogging... start editing<br /><span style="color: #fcfae1;">.</span><br />He argues that authority comes from accumulating great content and not just creating it. Many of the most popular websites in the world feature multiple writers but the blog, and the blog owner has authority <br /><span style="color: #fcfae1;">.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Stop Driving Traffic Away From Your Website<br /><span style="color: #fcfae1;">.</span><br />Don't go for a little easy money by selling banner ads but aim to build an email list.</span></li>
</ol>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I think all those comments make sense and if you're a blogger and you're not getting the rewards that you expected, I think the Authority Hacks report is well worth reading.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="https://digitalmarketing.infusionsoft.com/go/ahack/a279" target="_blank">Authority Hacks</a> - affiliate link</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">How Different Is The Basic Message?</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I suspect the answer to this question depends on where you are and how closely you watch Ryan Deiss.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">If you've been following the launches like <a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/online_profits/2011/11/subscription-empire-from-ryan-deiss.html" target="_blank">Subscription Empire</a>, <a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/online_profits/2011/06/inbox-empire-from-ryan-deiss-maryellen-tribby.html" target="_blank">Inbox Empire</a> and <a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com/online_profits/2011/05/digital-marketer-lab-by-ryan-deiss.html" target="_blank">Digital Marketer Labs</a>, you'll see some recurring themes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Let's cut away any hype.<br /></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">What People Want</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">What people want is to get advice from people they can trust.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">That comes in two forms and I'll use the medical profession to show you the value.</span></p>
<ol>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The general practitioner who knows you well and can help direct you to more specialised help when needed. This person has a wide but shallow knowledge about a lot of things.<br /></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The specialist consultant who has a very deep knowledge about a very small topic. This person is great if you have that condition but of little value if you don't.</span></li>
</ol>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">In your blogging, you need to decide if you want to be the general practitioner or the specialist.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">In my Online Profits blog (the blog you're reading) and my <a href="http://businesscoaching.typepad.com" target="_blank">Business Coaching blog</a>, I've taken the GP role.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">My role is to point you to the best sources of information and I'm happy to feature great content from guest bloggers. I'm not trying to present myself as the expert.<br /></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">In my <a href="http://www.differentiateyourbusiness.co.uk" target="_blank">DifferentiateYourBusiness.co.uk</a> blog, I've taken the role of the specialist because it's in this area that my deeper interest and knowledge lies.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">On this blog, I've rarely used guest bloggers because I want to establish my expertise and authority.<br /></span></p><xhtml:img xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/online_profits/~4/0fC3ltGN_tg" height="1" width="1" /></div></content>
