The bill will now be passed to the Senate for final approval, it is no secret that they have been struggling to come up with their own legislation on a healthcare reform. Both bills will now have to be approved before president Obama can sign the new bill.

The bill won by a narrow margin, just 220-215. We also mentioned in a recent post that one Republican supported the Democrats bill. A number of politicians have been have been reacting to the recent vote, even the president himself.

Obama said, “Thanks to the hard work of the House, we are just two steps away from achieving health insurance reform in America. Now the United States Senate must follow suit and pass its version of the legislation. I am absolutely confident it will.”

Even when you go to visit your doctor, there are not patients shouting at the doctor demanding to be given the vaccination. Europe is also doing the same thing and it certainly feels more civilized when you visit your local GP or medical centre.
According to sources, Dr. Steve Field, president of the Royal College of General Physicians said “That is one of the great advantages of the British health system.” Field also added “We have a list of all the names of patients who qualify to be vaccinated.”

2,000 British service personnel are to meet up on open ground at Camp Bastion; they will join in pray and lay a wreath to remember their comrades who lost their lives. The sad truth is, the conflict is far from over and many more of these brave heroes will lose their lives, just to give us a better future.

The Republican’s will certainly be unhappy with Cao, but he wanted to support the bill as he was promised by President Barack Obama that the new bill will help to address the “critical health care issues of Louisiana,” Which the Huffington Post reported.

House Minority Leader John Boehner has often seen Joseph Cao as “the future” of the GOP. The Republicans know how important Cao’s vote was and went to great lengths to keep him involved in the healthcare vote. Eric Cantor, the House Minority Whip must be feeling a little embarrassed by now, as he said “not one Republican will vote for this bill.”

According to The New York Times, the vote was very close, 220-215. One Republican even supported the bill, another boost for the Obama administration. The new bill will now allow for almost all Americans to have health cover and no insurance will be able to refuse those who already have an existing condition.

The price tag for this new healthcare bill totals $1 trillion, something that the Republicans are not happy with as the wealthy will be the ones to stump up the extra cash by increasing taxes. As you would expect, the Democrats were very happy when they had their 218th vote recorded.

This will be a huge overhaul of the healthcare system which already totals $2.5 trillion; this is one-sixth of the U.S. economy. Whether it is the right change remains to be seen, do you agree with the new changes?

The public are now asking to see the official shooting victims list from Fort Hood, but this is yet to be released. According to an article in the Examiner, the families of those who had lost their lives may not want the names of their loved ones splashed around in public.

There are those who say that it is going too far when the media decide to try to dig up all the information that they can, regardless of those who suffer, such as the Fort Hood victims families. When we first broke the news, the wounded was at 31, that figure has now increased to 38.

There is still no clue as to why the shootings took place; an investigation is now well under way. This is not the right time for the victim list to be made public, the families should be allowed to grieve first and also learn what prompted the killer to take such action.

According to washingtonpost.com, the employees recognized their former co-worker, as he drew a handgun from underneath his shirt and killed his first victim in the reception area. He was then said to have entered the office, where he unloaded a few more rounds.

But reports say that several hours after the shooting on Friday, 40-year old divorced Jason Rodriguez, who wounded five other people in the shooting, was taken into custody. Police say that he will now be charged with first-degree murder, as well as some other crimes.

When asked by officers why he had done it, Rodriguez said “Because they left me to rot.” Jason blamed his old firm for some recent trouble he had receiving unemployment benefits. He was then said to have apologized and said he was going through a tough time.

Dr. Anne Schuchat, who is the director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, hopes that things will get better soon, as more vaccine against the H1Ni virus are becoming available.

In fact, more than 38 million doses of the vaccine against H1N1 influenza are now readily available. According to latimes.com, that is 11 million more than were available last week and double the amount available two weeks ago.

Schuchat says that 8 million more doses are expected to arrive soon as well. She says that once supplies increase, things should go better. Since the outbreak of the swine flu in April, there have been 129 pediatric deaths.

Major Nidal Hasan, an army psychiatrist, shot 13 people dead, and wounded 30 others after allegedly shouting “Allah akbar.” The Muslim, who had been arguing with comrades about the war in Iraq, and had been trying to quit the army, was not known to be a risk at the base.

The heroine, Sergeant Kimberly Munley who was a civilian police officer stationed at the base, is likely to return home a hero after leaving the hospital, to which she is in a stable condtion. “I live a good life … a hard one, but I go to sleep peacefully @ night knowing that I may have made a difference in someone’s life,” it reads on her Twitter page. You certainly made a difference, Sergeant.

According to cnn.com, the owner of the convenience store in Fort Hood, said Major Nidal Malik Hasan, who is allegedly the guy responsible for the shootings, would come in to the store for coffee and hash browns most mornings, including that morning.

The video from the store shows a man, who according to the store owner is Hasan, at the cashier’s counter at around 6.20 am on Thursday morning, which works out around seven hours before the shooting took place. He was dressed in traditional Arab garb.
