PES 2018 demo confirmed for August 30

The PES 2018 demo will launch on Wednesday 30th August.

Available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360, the demo will feature nine clubs (Barcelona, Boca Juniors, Borussia Dortmund, Colo-Colo, Corinthians, Flamengo, Inter Milan, Liverpool, River Plate), as well as three national teams (Argentina, Brazil, Germany).

Meanwhile, Konami has revealed the national teams of Belgium, Czech Republic, England, Poland, and Wales will be fully licensed this year.

Five Borussia Dortmund Legends have also been unveiled: Norbert Dickel, Jörg Heinrich, Lars Ricksen, Karl-Heinz Riedel and Michael Zorc will all be available in myClub this year.

Finally, the PES 2018 gamescom trailer (watch below) confirms Premier League side Arsenal will be fully licensed once again.

Beckham signs for Konami + confirmed as new myClub Legend

Announcing the deal just moments ago, Konami has signed a "long-term, exclusive deal" with global superstar David Beckham.

As part of the partnership, the England midfielder will be playable in PES 2018 in the form of a myClub Legend.

Five different versions will be released, with each one reflecting his time spent at LA Galaxy, Man Utd, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and the England national team.

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. has added another legendary player to its enviable PES 2018 roster of Legends with the signing of England midfield genius and global superstar David Beckham.

Arguably the most recognizable football player of modern times, David Beckham’s 20-year career saw him win 19 major trophies as he played for title-winning teams in England, Spain, Italy and the United States of America. He was the first British player to be featured in 100 UEFA Champions League matches, and enjoyed an international career that garnered 115 England caps. His incredible ability from dead-ball and set-piece situations resulted in dozens of truly memorable goals before his retirement in 2013.

KONAMI is delighted that such a leading light of world football has agreed to join PES. The Leyton-born star will see his incredible career recreated in-game as a Legend in the forthcoming PES 2018.

Following PES 2018’s launch on September 14th, several versions of David Beckham from key points of his illustrious career will be featured in the game’s myClub mode across different campaigns. A total of five eras will be represented, from his formative years in England, through to his times in Spain, Italy and the United States of America, alongside one representing his International profile. Using KONAMI’s proprietary scanning and animation systems, Beckham’s unique playing style and abilities will be faithfully recreated for those playing the hugely popular myClub mode.

The addition of David Beckham to PES 2018 perfectly reflects the new game’s message that it is “Where Legends are Made.” Fans will be able to experience this directly in myClub as they build a team from scratch and draft Legends such as Diego Maradona, and now David Beckham, into their team.

Additionally, making his debut as an in-game player, the world’s fastest man and most recognisable athlete in the world, Usain Bolt, will be also available within the myClub mode as an exclusive pre-order bonus.

KONAMI becomes Official Video Gaming Partner of Valencia CF

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. has announced it has become the Official Video Gaming Partner of Spanish giants, Valencia CF. The agreement will see the club faithfully recreated within the publisher’s Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) series and the pair will work across a series of complementary promotional activities.

The deal comes as KONAMI looks to strengthen its ties with the world’s best clubs for its PES series. Valencia CF is one of the most successful clubs in the Spanish league, with six titles, numerous domestic trophies, and European success in the UEFA Cup competition.

As Valencia CF’s Official Video Gaming Partner, KONAMI will work closely with the club to ensure their representation within the PES series is as close as possible. The agreement allows KONAMI to use the home, away and third kits in the forthcoming PES 2018 and the first-team squad will be perfectly created within the game. Player faces and individual skills will also be matched, while KONAMI and Valencia CF will also work together across a host of promotional activities.

The pair will launch a series of digital co-promotions throughout the year, with KONAMI contributing visuals from the game to assist in Valencia CF’s match day social media activities. With PES 2018 using the mantra “Where Legends are Made”, PES 2018 will also see KONAMI further expand its eSport interests. June 2017’s PES League World Final saw 16 players from around the globe gather to win a stunning $200,000 prize, and KONAMI will use Valencia CF’s iconic Mestalla stadium to host Pro Gaming competitions and other key events throughout the season.

As part of the deal, the West London side will have their kits and players perfectly recreated in PES 2018, the latter of which will benefit from Konami's full body-scanning process.

PES 2018 branding will also feature on the club's home, away, third and goalkeeper kits, and will be the main kit sponsor for the youth team.

Fulham were founded in 1879 and are London’s oldest professional football club. Having just missed out on promotion last season, the club are looking to the new season to build on their progress of the last few years and the club’s reputation for the development of talented young players.

KONAMI and Fulham have entered an exclusive agreement that will see the club perfectly recreated within the publisher’s forthcoming PES 2018. The full squad will be recreated in game with all kits and players to be perfectly replicated via Konami’s full body-scanning process, while KONAMI will also have an extensive presence within the club’s stadium, as part of the match day experience, and within the club’s progressive youth academy.

PES 2018 branding will feature on the back of the club’s new home, away, third and goalkeeping kits, and will be main sponsor of the Youth Team’s kit, showcasing the publisher’s support of the club’s enviable talent base. KONAMI and PES 2018 branding will also be prominent across the ad boards around the pitch and within branded areas inside the ground, and on ball boy kits on match days. International Champions Cup announce partnership with Konami

UPDATE - Monday 24th July, 10:50pm: Ah, it appears I jumped the gun on this one. Unfortunately, PES Community Manager Robbye Ron has today confirmed the ICC will not appear in PES 2018 Master League. My sincere apologies for any confusion caused.

The International Champions Cup is an annual tournament where a selection of clubs play pre-season friendlies against each other across a range of territories. Starting in the United States and Canada four years ago, the competition has since expanded to Australia, China and Mexico.

Currently ongoing, matches for the 2017 edition of the ICC are taking place in China, Singapore as well as the United States. 17 European clubs - including Arsenal, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain - are participating.

Bundesliga will remain exclusive to FIFA until 2022

The DFL has announced a new deal that will see the Bundesliga license for 'match simulation products' remain exclusive to EA Sports until at least 2021/22.

Furthermore, both Konami and Sega have acquired a 'non-exclusive rights package' that will allow each publisher to include the Bundesliga license in a single manager simulation game - expected to be PES Club Manager (Konami) and Football Manager (Sega).

07/18/2017 - Bundesliga International, the company that markets the licensing rights for the interactive entertainment products of the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, is renewing its successful partnership with Electronic Arts. In addition, Sega and Konami have also become partners for the first time, securing themselves comprehensive rights packages.

A partner of the Bundesliga since 1998, Electronic Arts has acquired the rights to license match simulation products for the four seasons from 2018/19 through 2021/22. Consequently, the match simulation will remain exclusively in its hands. Electronic Arts’ rights will also cover e-sports, allowing the company to continue offering national and international games competitions such as the official TAG Heuer Virtual Bundesliga and FIFA Ultimate Team. Electronic Arts has also secured itself a non-exclusive rights package to develop soccer manager simulations in all languages and to market them globally.

Konami and Sega, two Japanese firms with a long history in the entertainment products industry, have acquired similar non-exclusive rights packages, but which are restricted to a single manager simulation each. Konami has enjoyed many years of success with manager simulations, especially in Asia. Sega’s Football Manager product is a classical soccer manager simulation with extreme game depth that is marketed mainly in Central Europe.

“Match and manager simulations are especially important to us because they help make the Bundesliga even more popular around the world – especially among the target group of young people who are passionate about soccer. That is why we are particularly pleased to be able to continue our successful partnership with Electronic Arts and its world-leading FIFA product. We have also been able to win over Konami and Sega, two providers that will also help us achieve our goal,” says Jörg Daubitzer, CEO of Bundesliga International.

All licenses apply worldwide and for marketing in any language. What is more, with new technologies and platforms emerging and conventional ones being integrated all the time, Bundesliga International has designed its packages to be technology-neutral for the first time.

The rights were awarded in an open, transparent and non-discriminatory bidding process. All parties have agreed not to disclose the licensing fees.

Konami release PES 2018 E3 trailer

Konami have just unveiled the official E3 trailer for Pro Evolution Soccer 2018.

The trailer confirms Atletico Madrid's new stadium (currently being built), the Wanda Metropolitano, will feature in PES 2018.

Meanwhile, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt will also be in the game, confirmed as a pre-order bonus for myClub - with his own face, goal celebration and presumably a 99-rating for both Explosive Power and Speed.

Konami sign Diego Maradona until 2020

Konami has announced a new partnership that will see Diego Maradona appear in Pro Evolution Soccer until the year 2020 (PES 2019).

Dubbed by many as the best footballer of all time, Maradona featured in the PES 2017 version of myClub and was the highest-rated player in the entire game - ranked above Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane.

Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. announces that Diego Maradona, the former professional soccer player for the national team of Argentina, has signed an agreement with KONAMI for appearance in KONAMI games through 2020.

Konami has been releasing its popular soccer game series, "Pro Evolution Soccer", featuring over 10,000 real soccer players in the latest version, PES 2017. Total sales have risen to 96 million (as of end March 2017) since its initial release in 1995. Along with "Pro Evolution Soccer", KONAMI has rolled out new games such as the smartphone game "PES COLLECTION" and "PES CLUB MANAGER". Now, Konami plans to feature Diego Maradona in its soccer games. Further details will be announced on the games’ official websites.

PES 2018 to launch on September 14

Konami have today officially announced Pro Evolution Soccer 2018.

Set to launch on Thursday 14th September, PES 2018 will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and Steam.

Summary:

- Konami say, "PES 2018 features more new additions than any other PES title in the last 10 years, and no part of the game has been left untouched".

- Random Selection Match is back.

- PC version will be equal to the next-gen (PS4) release.

- Master League additions include a new transfer system, pre-match interviews and pre-season tournaments.

- Set-pieces have been "totally reworked", most notably the penalty-kick system (one-player kick-offs will also feature).

- Players at 'partnered clubs', such as FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, will sport their own tattoos.

- Full reveal confirmed for June 13th.

PES 2017: Data Pack 3 launches February 9

Data Pack 3, available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and Steam, will arrive next Thursday.

Over 100 new-and-updated player faces will be implemented, as well as eight classic kits for Borussia Dortmund, the 2017 UEFA Champions League Final matchball, updated pitch-side hoardings, new Legend players, and more boot designs from Adidas, Nike and Puma.

Furthermore, beginning February 9th, myClub mode will be added to the free-to-play Trial Edition of PES 2017.

PES 2017: Data Pack 2 coming November 24

Out this Thursday, Data Pack 2 will bring new boot styles, over 100 player face updates and classic Liverpool kits for all users of PES 2017.

UPDATE - Friday 19th August, 2pm: The PES 2017 demo will be available for PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Unfortunately though, Konami have today ruled out a PC release due to, "extra work being done on anti-cheating in that version via a particular software".

The PES 2017 demo will be released on Tuesday 23rd August for the Americas, while the European demo will launch a day later on the 24th.

Konami secure partnership with Borussia Dortmund

Konami has secured yet another club partnership, this time with German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Announcing the news on Twitter, Konami has also unveiled their PES 2017 gamescom trailer, of which confirms both Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke will be licensed this year.

Furthermore, Dortmund's home ground - Signal Iduna Park - is currently in development and is scheduled to be released in late-November, alongside Liverpool's Anfield stadium, in a free Data Pack.

Liverpool FC has today announced a three-year deal which sees them become an official partner of Konami.

The Merseyside club will see their iconic home ground, Anfield, perfectly reproduced in PES 2017. The club's famous anthem - You'll Never Walk Alone - will also feature within in-game chants and pre-match build up.

Furthermore, Liverpool legends - such as Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Ian Rush - will be playable in the game's myClub mode.

Last month, Konami announced FC Barcelona as a Premium Parter and with gamescom kicking off tomorrow, similar deals are expected to be announced as Konami, in their own words, 'look to develop their working relationship with the world’s biggest clubs'.

PES 2017: First gameplay videos unveiled

Earlier this week, I travelled to Konami UK in Windsor to sit down and try with the latest code of PES 2017.

With this being my second hands-on with the game, I was - once again - generally impressed from what I saw: improved goalkeepers, more decisive referees and some fantastic new animations.

Unlike last time though, Konami allowed us to capture gameplay during this playtest, which lasted for about three hours.

So far, I've managed to upload four videos, sadly all without sound due to some rather embarrassing technical issues. Plus, as I'm flying out to Norway tomorrow morning, I won't be able to upload any more content until I'm back at my laptop next week.

Konami announce partnership with FC Barcelona

Konami has today announced a new partnership with La Liga giants FC Barcelona.

The Catalan club released a statement today, confirming the creators of PES will be a 'Premium Partner of the Club for the next three seasons'.

Barça, armed with a seemingly-endless honours list that includes five UEFA Champions League wins and 24 Spanish league titles, will have their home ground, Camp Nou, licensed exclusively in PES 2017.

New FC Barcelona legends - including Juliano Belletti and Rivaldo - have also been revealed for myClub mode.

To celebrate the deal, Konami has published a mountain of brand new screenshots, showcasing new-and-improved player faces for Lionel Messi, Andrés Iniesta, Ivan Rakitić, and more.

A new trailer, which features the club's famous 'Cant del Barça' anthem, has also been released.

Jeremy Bruniaux wins the Gillette Championship

This weekend saw the first-ever Pro Evolution Soccer event hosted at Gfinity Arena.

The two-day tournament, with Group Stage matches starting on Friday morning and the Grand Finals taking place on Saturday, was eventually won by Jeremy Bruniaux.

Playing as Belgium, Bruniaux (aka CZ_TioMit) won 6-4 against fellow Frenchman Neo_Lofti in a thrilling end-to-end Final. As well as claiming victory in Gfinity's inaugural PES tournament, the Gillette Championship winner also took home a tidy £6,000 in prize money.

As well as congratulating Jeremy Bruniaux, I'd also like to give a huge thank you and well done to everyone at Gfinity for putting on such a superb event: from the coverage and hospitality to the organisation and venue, everything was absolutely fantastic and I sincerely hope there are more events lined up for PES 2017 and beyond.

PES 2017 to launch on September 15

PES 2017 will release in the UK and Europe on September 15, Konami has confirmed.

This means that this year, PES will be out two weeks before its competitor, with FIFA 17 set to launch worldwide on September 29.

Konami has also announced PES 2017 will be out in North America on September 13 - two days earlier than its European release.
