Perfecting the tricks and stunts that can be done while riding on a skateboard can take many years. Children learn to skateboard in the streets around their home and find out many tips from the kids that they play with everyday. There will be a lot of talk about skateboarding when the child goes to school everyday. Some of the things that are heard will not be the whole truth. Hearing the truth about skateboarding will often come from skateboarding associations in the city.

A child might be considered an expert on skateboarding when they are able to provide correct answers to many questions that their friends toss at them at school. The answers actually came from the skateboarding associations and were often heard during the after school skateboarding programs that they offer. Children can also get answers by reading the marketing materials that are attached to skateboards and other equipment that is worn while skateboarding.

The skateboarding association buildings will become a home away from home for many skateboarders because these sites often have skateboarding parks set up for children in the community to use on weekends and after school each day. The buildings will become very popular with parents too because this is where they learn about the sport that their child is so enthralled with and perhaps these parents will learn about some of the safety issues that they are learning to handle.

Most parents are thankful for the skateboarding associations for other reasons too. They provide a safe haven for their children and keep them out of harms way. The activity of skateboarding will also allow the skater to build strong bodies and learn how to handle the pressures of competition in a safe environment. The children will also learn how to delve deep within their character and learn how to compete against friends with no hard feelings afterwards.

As the skateboarder perfects their individual styles, they will progress from one level of competition to another. The skateboarding association’s serve as organizers for many skateboarding championships and are considered by many skateboarders as the final authority as to whether they are ready to progress to the next stage of competitive skateboarding finals. The skateboarding associations will make sure that every skateboarder adheres to the rules of safety and competition at every meet they go to.

A skateboarder will have a very bright future ahead of them in the world of professional skateboarding, if they are willing to devote many hours to training. Some children get interested in skateboarding because it is the first transportation that they have to use and they would never consider spending a weekend at the skateboarding park down the street with the sole purpose of training to the point where they are exhausted by the tricks they are learning to do.

The skateboarding association will make sure that all news about skateboarding competitions are up to date. Every skateboarder that participates in skateboarding tournaments will need to know which skaters they will be up against in the next meet. They will want to know what the skateboarding records are for freestyle skateboarding, and which skaters skate with a street style that could give them the edge over another skater when the competition gets fierce. A skateboarding association will often post the current records in plain view so that all skateboarders will have access to it whenever they visit their facilities to train.

In terms of ownership and operation of a team most of the teams in the NHL are owned by private people and investors, but only one player so far has sole ownership of a NHL franchise and that’s Mario Lemieux who played 17 years (1984-2006) with the Pittsburgh Penguins and when the team was in jeopardy with bankruptcy he purchased the team in 1999. This was 7 years before his retirement from the team. He was called by most to be the next “Wayne Gretzky” because he was equally talented as Wayne Gretzky who basically started his playing career from the Edmonton Oilers to the Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues and finishing out his career with the New York Rangers. Gretzky too also has ownership (partial) of the professional team the Phoenix Coyotes since his retirement in 1999.

There’s a lot to be said since athletes who turn around and invest in the teams they devoted years to a successful career with for so many years tend to bring back a bigger crowd because the status of being an owner is an even bigger place in the sport of hockey. After 17 seasons Lemieux had defiantly earned his place in the hockey world since he owns the Penguins and what person could be better fitted since he knows the team from the inside out and can appoint the right people to recruit talented players to the team.

Owning a team is a lot of work and can be expensive and risky if you don’t know what you’re doing to bring in the crowd needed to make a team successful. Many people don’t see the actual price tag it takes to operate and run an NHL franchise. You’re looking at between $50-75 million dollars to own and operate a team and that doesn’t include the cost of renting a facility where the games are played at since the numbers would be through the roof if you had to do the math on that one. Milwaukee doesn’t have a hockey team for the very reason explained it was a financial issue and having done a survey there was a huge lack of interest. The interest level would be much higher if they had someone like Wayne Gretzky or some well known NHL legend either co-owning or is the sole owner of a team then there would be a chance for Milwaukee to actually consider the idea because then the investors won’t feel like they’ll lose money on a project that isn’t really going anywhere if there’s no standing or interest in it.

Not to mention the main focus would be the financial projections for the next 5 to 10 seasons because the idea of having a franchise in the NHL is to make money and be a winning team. It’s when you see teams going into bankruptcy because usually that indicates low ticket sales over a course of years or in a single season to not packing them in and looking at attendance and other factors as well such as merchandise sales. It’s not a pretty sight when teams end up being bought or sold by people, but they seem to have a chance of surviving when the owner is a popular player because the name alone will draw in some serious revenue when people know that a former professional player is the owner of a team that does win.

Everyone knows that hockey can be a rough and sometimes brutal sport to be involved with. There are a lot of injuries that are common to hockey players that are either a part of the game or some can be threatening to one’s career. This is why so many hockey players are prone to a lot of injuries to the back, knees and arms and a plethora of other things as well. There are ten injuries that hockey players are prone to and they are:

Lower back problems
Head trauma
Neck strain
Tendonitis
Black eye
Broken teeth
Frostbite
Spinal cord injury
Broken bones

It’s these injuries that can resort to ending a player’s career which has happened a lot in the NHL a lot of players end up cutting their careers short because of injuries due to repeated injuries to the same place over and over again for a course of years. This can also keep a player in pain for years on end and can escalate to chronic which requires them to be in some kind of physical therapy and pain management. It’s not a pleasant thing for many athletes who have career ending injuries because they’re constantly in pain that can sometimes be unbearable which can make their lives hard to deal with. Many athletes are also becoming too reliant on medications to fix problems and that too has caused issues.

A lot of the common knee injuries are fixed with shots of cortisone which can cause erosion of the cartilage in the knees which can be serious and result in full or partial knee replacement when it gets to be to the point that tearing begins to set in. This is why a lot of physical and massage therapists can know right away what part of an athlete’s body will eventually wear out because of the frequent repetitive moving they do during a game or even the training they do in the off season.

The surgeries these athletes get are really the most painful things around they may fix the problem, but they can also cause pain to get worse over time to where it’s chronic and persistent and can be bothersome making it difficult to sleep and do normal daily activities in and outside of the home. Many athletes are usually not good at accepting retirement especially due to injuries that can end a career, but many of them will not listen to a doctor when he or she tells them to rest and follow the self care instructions laid out for them so they can get the recuperation in so they can be back on the ice in a shorter amount of time. There’s a reason doctors say this and that’s so the body can take the time to heal itself from an injury and can allow the body to recuperate naturally without so much pain medication.

A Good Water Hydration System Keeps The Motor Running is a post from: Sports Centre

For individuals preparing for their next marathon, or leisure running event, you know how important it is to keep your body fully hydrated to maintain your ultimate peak performance. But no matter what level of runner you are, having properly designed running hydration gear can be the vital reinforcement in helping you get across that finish line safely!

A balanced performance level for runners is a very important component, and your concentration level plays a key role in keeping proper pace, and maintaining your ability to read the warning signs your body is telling you. This is why the correct sports apparel and running equipment is just as important as the training for the serious running enthusiast.

Hydration accessories play a key role in the runners’ mix of sports products needed to keep their endurance at the level required by the individual runner. Many designs are currently available that not only provide functionality, but also offer comfort and stability. While running long distance, or taking short mountainous trail runs, the last thing you want to be worrying about is if your water pack is fitting correctly, and the gear content isn’t shifting and bouncing all over your body.

With inferior product designs, you will experience more frustration, and with your attention focusing on your bottle gear, and not your activity, you increase your chances of throwing your concentration off, or even worse, you may seriously injure yourself.

Hydration Packs Are Specially Designed Running Systems!

Like proper running shoes, athletic clothing, and accessories such as a pedometer, all have certain features that you desire in order to assist you in an overall better performance. The same applies when you choose your hydration pack, because all packs are not created equal, and they also have features that may differ in application.

The right running system for you will determine on what level of comfort you’re looking for and also the required function. If you’re a speed walker, you may feel the packs with the water bottles will be sufficient, however, if you’re a full out long distant runner, having bottles may be a hindrance, and switching to a more stable waist pack with a bladder/reservoir system, plus also adjustable features that will prevent bouncing during your stride, may be exactly what you’re looking for in a water hydration system.

The good news is that with the incredible technology and design, you have many options today than ever before, and when you start searching outdoor sporting good stores, or online bag suppliers, you should have no worries finding the right running pack that’s right for your needs.

As an athlete, I understand the importance of maintaining the concentration levels during a good run, or any other sporting activity that requires your mind to keep that necessary focus. Having the best hydration tools to help you achieve your goals, and prevent you from breaking your level of concentration is crucial to any sport. Keeping your body fully hydrated is surely important to you and your health, so there should be no compromise when you decide to select your running hydration pack system!

Are you a busy executive or mom trying to do everything? Are you getting so stressed out that it seems like you’re not accomplishing anything? If so, you can use martial arts to combat that stress! Many of the skills and techniques used in martial arts training are the same skills and techniques you can use to rid your body of stress.

So, you might be wondering how a skill that is commonly depicted as a fighting tool can actually reduce stress… Some of these common images of martial arts aren’t completely accurate. The cartoons, video games and movies showing martial arts as a fighting tool are only showing you one small facet of the art. The skills necessary for training martial arts can teach you how to balance your mind and body and give you the confidence you need to face the stressful events in your life.

HOW DO YOU DO IT?

One of the techniques used to create this balance is using breathing and meditation techniques to help you connect and control your mind and body. There are different types of meditation: sitting, standing, kneeling and moving. Find the position that works best for you. Here’s how to start.

1.	Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.

2.	Breathe deeply. To make sure you’re breathing deeply enough, put your hand on your stomach. If your stomach isn’t pushing out as you breath in, you’re not breathing deeply enough. Try to pull the air all the way to your navel before you let it out.

3.	When you breathe out, keep your tongue on the roof of your mouth. This keeps helps minimize your saliva and swallowing.

In the Chinese way of thinking, breathing like this is completing a path: The mouth is a gate and the tongue on the roof of the mouth allows your vital energy called “Qi” or “Chi” (both pronounced “chee”) to circulate throughout your body. Chi is what helps your mind and body connect.

After you’ve gotten the physical aspects of breathing down, you can start counting your breaths – this is a form of meditation that many experts teach during stress management courses. Start short and work your way up.

1.	Begin with a count of 4 as you breathe in and a count of 6 as you breathe out.

2.	As you go along, extend the in and out until you can get a count of 6 as you breathe in and up to 24-30 as you breathe out. Just remember that you want a short, deep breath in and a slow, long breath out.

WHY DOES IT WORK?

This mind and body connection through breathing works because stress is a mental state that manifests itself as a physical symptom in your body. This physical symptom then acts as a trigger to tell you to do something about it. As you become more aware of your body, you’ll be able to notice the “trigger” before it becomes something unbearable such as a severe neck problem or a migraine headache. Once you notice your trigger, you can stop and do something about it such as practicing a breathing technique. For example, I used to get stress-induced migraines that would leave me out of commission for a whole day. Now, I’ve come to realize that it actually starts in my lower back as a small thing. If I let it go, it works its way up to my head. Now, when I noticed this trigger in my back, I stop and do my breathing. It allows the issue to surface so I can deal with it and I don’t have to deal with a migraine.

We all have those moments from time to time when we experience stress (some more frequently than others). The overall benefits of training martial arts for the mind and body (including self-awareness, self confidence, focus, concentration and physical conditioning) all lead to reducing that stress. You owe it to yourself to start relieving the stress in your life with the skills taught through martial arts. The best place to find these skills is at a fine martial arts school. Why not give it a try? You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. To make it even easier, I’ll help you get started. Just contact me and I’ll send you my free report on how to pick a martial arts school.

The British Aikido Board
Disastrous National Nepotism Seminar 2004 – 99 Students
By Henry Ellis Co-author of Positive Aikido.

( BAB Founder member – now resigned )

For many years The British Aikido Board ( BAB ) have shown no interest what-so-ever in the true history of British Aikido, to be fair to the BAB, they have in the recent past shown a great deal of interest and support for the false history of British Aikido for which they have now publicly apologised, the apology to Henry Ellis by the chairman Mr Vincent Sumpter pictured left, can be viewed on this site. www.geocities.com/britishaikido.

Kenshiro Abbe Sensei 1915 – 1985..

When Kenshiro Abbe Sensei first stepped on British soil in 1955 he brought with him the knowledge of many Budo arts, Aikido being one of them. Abbe Sensei also brought his Aikido based philosophy of Kyu-Shin-Do. This was the inception of British Aikido. Yet no where in the BAB literature will you find any reference to Kenshiro Abbe Sensei by name or the origins of Aikido within the UK. In the year 2000 the BAB were happy to help promote Mr Pooles proven fraudulent claims to 47 yrs of Aikido, I am plesaed to add that the BAB have now taken this claim by Mr Poole from the BAB Associations information website. I personally received my invitation from the BAB to attend Mr Poole’s event, that was the start of the long running British Aikido Board Controversy which was resolved at the mediation meeting 6th July 2005 with Sport England/BAB/Ellis. Yet sadly, the BAB have never ever recognised or promoted the true history of British Aikido or its founder Kenshiro Abbe Sensei. The reason for this article is that following the success of the great Kenshiro Abbe Sensei Celebrations 14th May 2005 I am informed that the BAB plan a similar event next year which would be an insult to the memory of Abbe Sensei and to the handful of Abbe Sensei direct students.

It should be pointed out that the spate of attacks on the credibilty of British Aikido History – Kenshiro Abbe Sensei and Henry Ellis have all come from within the BAB, some are executive members along with prominent members of the British Aikido Board associations. These are the very people that the BAB members would expect to promote and protect their proud lineage. Below are a few examples.

One: Ms Shirley Timms the British Aikido Boards secretary, totally ignored the facts-photos-evidence against Mr Jack Poole’s false history which were personally handed to her by Henry Ellis, prior to Mr Poole being presented with his coveted bronze samurai statue in Oct 2000.

Two: Mr Toni Davies the previous BAB chairman, deliberately lied at a general meeting to protect Mr Poole’s false history. Read the Sport England meeting minutes.

Three: Mr Vincent Sumpter The BAB chairman once supported the claims of Mr Poole by stating ” We have no formal records to prove or disprove either claim ” DUH < There were four of Abbe Sense’s direct students within the BAB at that time.>

Four: Mr John Burn.* BAB Executive *- *BAB Communications Officer* – Very Serious libel attack on the name of Henry Ellis. renews his attack 10th June 2005 stating ” This only serves to amuse me “.

Five: Jim Johnston. The then *BAB Press Officer*. Promoting the fraudulent claims of Mr Poole whilst fully knowing the truth.

Six: Mr Dominick Foster.* BAB Executive * – Attends the Kenshiro Abbe Celebrations and states to a VIP guest “What is this Celebration all about ” he then states that next year is the true celebration of British Aikido by the BAB.

Seven: Mr Jack Poole.* BAB Senior Principal Coach *. The Jack Poole Biography..( a catalogue of lies. ).

Eight: The KenShinKai.* Prominent BAB Association*. Gave 100% Support for the JP Bio..Their open letter taken from the NACD is an absolute classic and can be read on this website.

Nine: Mr Gwynne Jones.* Prominent BAB member *. Dis-credits 6 of the first 8 of the early dan grades in MartialArts Illustrated article ” Bends the Branch..Issue June 05. visit the National Aikido Database forum for more information.

British Aikido Board Statement Damned Forever
Ten: This is without doubt the most disgraceful of them all.. * The BAB Chairman *Toni Davis stated in the year 2000
“We the British Aikido Board are not the custodians of British Aikido History and
therefore have no interest in the same“

Eleven: Sadly, with the arrival of the new BAB chairman Mr Vincent Sumpter nothing changed, he made the statement below despite the factual information available to him and his executive, We must not forget that Mr Sumpter had the only four surviving students of Abbe Sensei for Aikido within the BAB.

Twelve: On the 17th April 2002 The *BAB Chairman * Mr Vincent Sumpter wrote to Henry Ellis with reference to the history of British Aikido. He then made the following crass statement in his support for the BAB stance on Mr Jack Poole.

“The period in question predates the creation of the BAB by a significant amount of time and therefore we have no formal records to prove or disprove either claim.”

Thirteen: The Kenshiro Abbe 50th Celebration Seminar
May 14th Crystal Palace London
720 Participants –Guests – Spectators

At the Sport England / BAB / Ellis mediation meeting 6th July 2004 where the BAB were reprimanded by Sport England and instructed to give Henry Ellis a full public apology.

At the end of the meeting ( The minutes for this meeting can be viewed on this site .( www.geocities.com/britishaikido ), Henry Ellis appraised Ms Sadie Mason of Sport England of the proposed plans for the Kenshiro Abbe event, Ms Mason suggested that we should involve the BAB in our plans as part of the reconciliation of British Aikido, Henry Ellis agreed.

Henry Ellis offered Ms Mason’s suggestion to the Abbe Event Committee, the suggestion was unanimously accepted 100%. The BAB executive were then approached and invited to send a representative ( any one of its 15,000 members ) of the BAB to attend our meetings and report back on our progress, this offer was rejected out of hand.

Mr Vincent Sumpter

“No matter your Pretence, you are what you are and nothing more!“
Kenshiro Abbe Sensei

Not deterred, we then invited the BAB chairman Mr Vincent Sumpter to attend The Kenshiro Abbe 50th Celebration as a VIP guest, to pay the respects of the BAB membership of which he represents . There were many BAB members attending, proving that this event was not about personal differences – styles or what organisation you belong to, I was pleased to see students from Mr Poole’s organisation who were also made very welcome. This event was about one thing and one thing only “ Kenshiro Abbe Sensie “ with demonstrations of the early aikido and its proud standards, with Sensei Eastman showing various techniques to show the influences that the different early teachers brought to the UK in those early days.

Students trained with other students of various styles and associations with a friendliness not often seen in modern Aikido circles. this event went a long way to promote all that is good in Aikido. I believe that the spirit of Abbe Sensei would be very proud of this special day to his memory.

Another crass statement from Mr Vincent Sumpter 27th March 2004 made before the Sport England Mediation meeting 6th July 2005. In an unwarranted attack on the genuine aikidoka who supported the British Aikido Controversy debate in its defence of the true history of British Aikido and the Aikido history of Abbe Sensei and his disciples.

Mr Sumpter bleats.

“The Boards conscience is clear. like all the practitioners of Aikido who contribute to this “controversy “ Mr Humm appears to have forgotten the meaning of the word “Aikido “ – Harmony of Sprit to find a Way “ The “Controversy “ website feeds hatred, ill – feeling, bitterness and discord. For my part, as an aikidoka who is passionate about the art and the etiquette that goes with it, I will therefore not add to the feeding frenzy this website generates. I can’t stop what is going on but I can turn the other cheek.“

With reference to the above statement by Mr Sumpter I should remind the reader to visit on this website www.geocities.com/britishaikido to read both the Sport England minutes and Mr Sumpters apology to Mr Ellis which can only be considered an apology to all those that supported the “Controversy “ in the name of Kenshiro Abbe Sensei including the named Mr David Humm.

In response to our invitation to attend as a VIP guest to the Abbe event Mr Sumpter replied stating that he graciously accepted our invitation. Just before the event he changed his mind without explanation, suggesting that we allow Mr Ralph Reynolds to represent the BAB.

Mr Reynolds had a far more important role to play as one of the main teachers at this event where he was delighted to take part as an original student of Kenshiro Abbe Sensei.

This was such an important event with many good students who were members of the BAB, yet, the British Aikido Board were not represented at this event to pay tribute to such a great master and the founding father of British Aikido.

If Mr Sumpter had attended he would have seen a Martial Arts Spectacular never before seen in the United Kingdom, where students from many organisations met and renewed old friendships, there were many more that made new friendships.

In almost 50 years of Aikido I have never before experienced the special atmosphere that electrified the great hall at Crystal Palace from the moment the Taiko Drummers started to play on this day of celebration in the name of Abbe Sensei. I never ever thought in my life time that I would ever see an event to eclipse the great event at The Royal Albert Hall in 1963 with Abbe Sensei. I knew on Saturday the 14th of May that I was now witnessing the greatest Aikido event in my 48 years of Aikido. I am not an emotional man but I will admit that as I looked over the balcony of the concourse onto the tatami area with the sound of the Taiko Drummers and the hundreds of students and guests gathering below I was unable to stop the trickle of a few emotional tears as I realised I was witnessing something very special.

MR SUMPTER, you too missed something very special, whilst you sat 40 miles away at home ignoring the tribute to the father of British Aikido, others travelled from all parts of the UK – USA – France – Holland – Germany – Czechoslovakia. etc.

Whilst you sat at home it was a wonderful moment when Sensei Bill Woods who was the personal aide to Kenshiro Abbe Sensei and without doubt the most influential force in the history British Martial Arts, made a supreme effort despite his serious illness to pay his respects to the memory of Abbe Sensei.

Also whilst you sat at home, Sensei Bill Stopps the personal Aide to Matsutharu Otani Sensei who despite his age and ill health also attended and thanked me wholeheartedly for inviting him as a special guest, and for the wonderful day he had experienced.

Whilst you sat at home just 40 miles away, Sensei Robin Otani and his two sons, the descendents of Matsutharu Otani Sensei travelled all the way from Devon to attend.

Sensei Joe Curran travelled all the way from Newcastle and Sensei Mike Nery travelled from Bristol. Sensei Dave Rogers travelled 7000 miles from New Mexico USA as did Sensei Al Montemar and Mr Chad Hatcher who flew over from Texas USA to pay their respects. Whilst you sat at home there were many others that travelled long journeys to attend.

Unlike you Mr Sumpter these people wanted to attend.

You missed some of the finest displays of the Budo arts that any martial artist is ever likely to witness at any one event, a truly lasting experience for all those that made the effort to attend.

I was always under the impression that it was the sworn duty of any chairman to always do what was best for his organisation and its members.

As the previous BAB chairman Toni Davies will always be rembered for nothing more than his lies and unswerving support for Mr Poole.

The present chairman Mr Sumpter will always be remembered as the BAB chairman who snubbed the Kenshiro Abbe Memorial to pay tribute to our founding father on behalf of his membership.

Try Try Try Again

After the disastrous “British Aikido Board Nepotism Seminar 2004“ with only 99 students attending out of a membership of approx 15000, the BAB have decided not to hold it’s 2005 National Seminar .

They are of course fully aware of the fantastic success of the Kenshiro Abbe Celebrations. With 720 participants – honoured guests – spectators.

The BAB having failed miserably in its four year support for Mr Jack Poole to change the history of British Aikido. They now appear to have a renewed interest in the true history of British Aikido and its founder Kenshiro Abbe.
No matter whatever the British Aikido Board do, that damning statement below will hang over their shameless heads for ever and a day.

British Aikido Board Statement Damned Forever

The BAB Chairman Toni Davis stated in the year 2000

“We the British Aikido Board are not the custodians of British Aikido History and
therefore have no interest in the same.“

“No matter your pretence – you are what you are – and nothing more.“

Indoor skydiving can be thought of as a safer, less scary alternative to jumping out of an airplane. This form of skydiving is every bit as adventurous and still fulfills the thrill of free-falling. It requires a lesser amount of time of training and is often used as a preparation course for those wanting to jump out of an airplane in the future. And just like actual skydiving, indoor skydiving provides you with instruction from a certified coach who ensures your safety every step of the way. There is a wonderful facility called Flyaway Indoor Skydiving that provides everything you need to get your free-fall rush.

There is no experience necessary to experience the excitement of indoor skydiving. The concept of flying and free-falling indoors is made possible by a vertical wind tunnel which provides the freedom of human flight. The training for this experience is not as lengthy as actual skydiving but isn’t any less valuable. Instructors provide students with body technique, landing skills, and equipment management training. Typically, training classes last about 25 minutes and then you are given 3 minutes of flight time. The powerful wind in the tunnel will shoot you up about 12 feet, which doesn’t compare to the thousands of feet of an actual skydive. However, you will forget you are indoors once you start free-falling in the tunnel, as the wind speed used (120 mph) is the same as that as real skydiving. Safety remains a primary concern as instructors ensure that students are fully capable of free-falling before turning on the high-powered wind fans inside the tunnel.

Just like skydiving, indoor skydiving requires a consent form from your doctor and is prohibited for people with certain health conditions. Unfortunately, just because it is indoors does not mean that anyone can participate. You will be asked to sign a consent form and release waiver which releases reliability for the indoor skydiving facility in the event of an emergency during your free-fall adventure. While such an unfortunate event is unlikely, it is important to understand the risks and dangers associated with indoor skydiving.

Another downfall to indoor skydiving is the location. Experiencing actual skydiving is more readily available, with locations all over the United States. However, Flyaway Indoor Skydiving is only available at two locations nationwide; Las Vegas, Nevada and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. While you may not seek out a trip to these places specifically for the indoor skydiving, it is well worth your time if you are already at either of these two locations. It is highly recommended that you call these locations in advance and make reservations if you wish to participate in indoor skydiving, as spaces fill up quickly. You can take advantage of group discounts if you plan to experience the thrill with friends and family, or perhaps you know someone who would love to try indoor skydiving and you could purchase a gift package for them. Prices for a single flight start at $27 and go up depending on your needs.

If the pass was thrown for 98 yards and received in the end zone but no one saw it, would it be a touchdown? If you had a stadium with highly trained players, referees, equipment and played all 4 quarters, but no one was in the stands, would it be a real game? Although fans are not required by any sort of rule it is an unwritten understanding that the game, its players and its paradigm exist for one and only one person: the fan. Understanding football as a fan based sport, the National Football League has done a series of innovative decision-making to help attract more fans and sustain the game.

Rule changes

In 1974 when Monday night football became all the rage, one thing was certain – more fans than ever were watching football. After the initial craze started by Monday night games began to show lackluster ratings, the head office began to ask what was wrong. The games seemed slow to fans and sometimes unintelligible. Too many games were built on defense, running games and complicated plays on the field that netted a steady flow of small yardage, but no big plays. In order to combat the slow-moving side of football, The NFL rushing ushered in innovative rule changes which favored passing, limited timeouts and time between plays and sped up the game. This use of structure to influence speed kept fans watching TV and filling the seats.

Exhibition games

The NFL is one of the few sports franchises that has no Canadian or international teams. The reason for that is the Canadian Football League is already a productive entity of its own and requires no American counterpart in their country. However, the NFL is also one of the first franchises branching out into the global economy by playing exhibition games and other cities in the world. From 1986 foreword, exhibition games called the “American Bowls” have been played in London, Berlin, Tokyo and Barcelona. These games help gain an international reputation for football, while satellite television can broadcast American games all over the world. This endears football to an entirely new population of people.

International seasonal games

While the exhibition games have wrought the ability to enjoy American football around the world, one of the points people complain about is the games aren’t very hard fought. Professional football players are rarely willing to go the extra mile or put a lot of effort into an exhibition game. Who wants to lose a lucrative career simply because you pull a hamstring of pop your knee out of place for a game that doesn’t even count for the regular-season? In order to show football as it really is meant to be played, the NFL has sanctioned the first game for regular season play to occur internationally at London’s Wembley Stadium in 2007. The game has already sold out, and appears to be a bright prospect for future regular-season NFL games abroad.

The National Football League should be commended for its innovative ideas that help make the fan and their expectations the center of the game.
