We start with Harrison, and I clarify my position a little bit on why I both loved and disapproved of the man. Danks and I also discuss how we think he'll do as a studio analyst on The Peacock, whether or not we'd vote him into the Hall of Fame, and whether or not we think he'll eventually get there.

Topic number two is Titans quarterback Vince Young, the comments he made this week, and where his career is heading. What's VY's ceiling? Is Jeff Fisher kidding himself when he says he believes that Young will eventually be the Titans starting quarterback? And how does Terry Steinbach feel about any of this?

Two highlights of the conversation I'd like to point out: 1) the crucial difference between saying that Brett Favre shouldn't continue to play football and taking issue with Brett Favre's behavior through the entire process, and 2) the plight of poor, poor Sage Rosenfels.

There's some other stuff, too. For example, there's the succinct beauty of the abusive e-mail of the week, and I believe that lead to an unofficial record number of "bleeps" in one podcast. We hit the Hot Routes, of course, but I also regret to tell you that we had no mailbag this week.

Can't blame that on me, though. You guys let us down. We didn't have a single acceptable question for the mailbag. I hope this makes you feel great shame, and I hope it strengthens your resolve to bring strong questions next week. Think about that. Possible topics could include Brett Favre, Stafford vs. Sanchez, rookie salaries, the Madden cover, the Madden curse, and Michael Vick's impending release. Don't limit yourself to that, though. Anything NFL or Shutdown Corner-related is in bounds.

But it is good. Maybe not in the sense of, "Oh, this is exactly how the draft is going to go," but I think it's an entertaining listen and provides a pretty decent little primer on the draft and its prospects as we get closer to Saturday. I think you'll enjoy it, as a part of course, of Yahoo!'s outstanding draft coverage.

Here's what we did. We asked all 32 of SB Nation's NFL blogs to call the Shutdown Corner hotline and make the picks for their teams, in order, and see how the draft played out. Meanwhile, Danks and I would sit back in the studio, take the picks as they come and give them the Mel Kiper treatment.

The final product is this 90-minute audio mock draft that plays much like a live draft. It's got your typical risers and sliders, surprise picks, off-the-board picks and green room sob stories. I'm pretty psyched about it.

I know Danks and I had fun putting it together, and the help we got from SB Nation was fantastic, and you should give it a download and see what happens with your favorite teams or players. I talk to Eli about his offseason, how disappointed he was to see Plaxico Burress cease to be a Giant, as well as what it's like to be speed-licking in a television commercial. We try to get to know Eli the person, not just Eli the football machine ... but as it turns out, Eli the person might just be Eli the football machine.

He also talks about missiong.com, and a project Gatorade's putting together where two 1993 high school football rivals will put on the pads and play again, 16 years later. When I first heard about this, I'll be honest, I thought, "Oh, terrific, out of shape old guys playing football." But go and check out the videos. It actually does seem kind of cool.

Pacman Jones is my favorite subject, though, as Danks and I are split on whether or not he'll play in 2009. I think he will, and I think it'll be a good decision for whatever team picks him up, but Danks is mean, unforgiving, and has a heart made of coal. He's also probably right.

We start with the Ravens/Steelers game, and we're surprisingly in agreement about how that one will unfold. Then it's mailbag time, where I experiment with a new "echo" sound for mailbag questions, which is completely intentional, and not at all the result of me being an idiot. We take questions from a few normal people and then at least one of our extremely creepy regulars.

From there, we bring in a special guest to talk about the Eagles/Cardinals festivities. He worked as an NFL scout for 22 years, spent three summers serving as Donovan McNabb's personal trainer, once fed Kevin Curtis's fish while Curtis was on vacation, and did some crank with Andy Reid's kids.

I'm just kidding. None of that's true. He's a friend of mine, he's an Eagles fan, his name's Doug, and he curses a lot. The only one of those statements that even might be true is the last one.

First, did anyone else notice the subtle "Fringe" promo during FOX's Eagles/Giants game on Sunday? I'm not sure promo's the right word for it, as no one ever mentioned the show, and no one who doesn't watch the show even noticed anything. But the creepy bastard pictured above occasionally appears randomly at the scene of notable happenings during the show "Fringe", and there he was, popping up at Eagles/Giants game. Thanks to Mike for the tip.

Second, I was honored to be a guest on Dan Levy's "On the DL" podcast last night. It's a lot like the Shutdown Corner podcast, except it's good. At least, it is until they have me on to drag the show down.

And lastly, this one deserves its own post, but I can't post it because of the naughty language. Take a second out of your morning to watch this video of embittered Giants fans beating the hell out of cars in the parking lot after the Eagles/Giants game. It seems like a very healthy outlet for frustration, as long as you consider significant personal danger and destruction of property healthy.

We spend time on each of the games coming up this weekend, and some of our picks may surprise you. We also discuss one of the most important, yet often-overlooked factors in the 2009 playoffs to this point ... Andy Reid's playoff beard.

We try, though. We briefly talk about some Pro Bowl snubs in a conversation that could have been a lot longer. Danks cut it off, though, which is probably good, since now's about the time when people stop caring about that sort of thing.

We start off by talking about our choices for the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year, and Danks and I have a difference of opinion there. Then we talk about the impressiveness of this year's rookie running back class, and then it all kind of devolves into the two of us just naming rookies.
