Below find The South East London Film Collective;s tentative meet-up schedule for the next few months. Check the website for updates a few days before.

Dear SELF Collective,

My name is Anna Tzini and I am Programme coordinator of PLATFORMA Video Festival (www.platformavideo.eu).

Let me tell you a few things about PLATFORMA first. It is an annual video festival located in Athens, Greece. It hosts more than 150 films from independent film makers (mainly using video and new media as their means of expression), and several tributes to foreign film festivals and creators. There are also a number of parallel events such as seminars, workshops, lectures and of course parties.

This year we thought we'd host a section dedicated to young artists who collaborate in order to get their work out there.

Directors, writers, actors who help each other out (one directs, the other shoots, a third one edits etc) in each ones films.

We want to show how important it is for young creators to stand by each other, and how that can benefit their work in terms of quality, ideas, and publicity.

We would like to see some of your video/film work in order to include it to our programme. We would love it if you could attend our festival and we will try to help with your travel and accommodation expenses as much as we can, depending on our funding which is still pending. You will of course be given free accreditation to all the festivals events and venues for all the days of the festival.

We would be very happy if you were interested in our proposal of cooperation for our next festival edition (Platforma Video 8, 7-10/11/2008).

Spring 08 Planning Meeting

Its about time for another planning meeting to sort out collective projects for the next few months. Lets start posting ideas to the Projects Page to get some discussions going and plan for early March sometime. Please post venue suggestions below, somewhere quite with space to write stuff up.

Tentatively 15th or 16th still looking for working venue. will post as soon as we find one.

48 Hour Film Project After Party

This event will conclude the South East London Film Collective's 48 hour film project.

From Friday 25Jan to Sunday 27Jan 3 teams of SE London filmmakers will be interpreting one script (written by a team of SE London scriptwriters) and creating 3 short films. They will be screened at The Sassoon Gallery at 7pm on Sunday with an afterparty to follow

THIS IS A FREE EVENT We encourage people interested in joining the collective to come out and meet us!

All are welcome, bring friends.

The South East London Film Collective is hosting a meet-up this Thursday 7pm Nov 22 at the Bar Story (under) Peckham Rye. This is a casual time to meet other filmmakers and talk about potential film/video collaborations/projects. This meeting follows our first organizational meeting held last Friday (check website www.selfcollective.org for meeting minutes) One of the outcomes of this meeting is a plan to call regular meet-ups fortnightly in the South East London Area in order to help cultivate a community and connect people.
