Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve updated this blog, huh? Way to long! Truth is, I have so many ideas for posts and half written drafted posts, I just haven’t had time to sit down and finish one idea yet. But yes, I am still here, I’m still taking consulting clients on (just did a great one this morning!) and I have some big plans and ideas for this site and the services I offer my buyers coming up soon.

But first, I thought I’d finally share something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a little thing I like to call Fiverr sourcing. You may or may not be familiar with Fiverr– if you haven’t, well congrats because it’s bout to become your new best friend. Fiverr.com is essentially a website for microjobs. There are thousands of designers, coders, artists, etc. willing to do stuff for you for only $5. It ay sound too good be to true, but it actually cuts my workload in half because I’m able to outsource some of the menial tasks I have to do every day.

For example…

I’ve been recently accepted into Amazon, which means I need photos with clean white backgrounds. Luckily there are tons of fiverr agents who will remove backgrounds from photos for you, like this lady here who does an an amazing job and will do 20 photos in one day, or this guy who will do the same.

Recently I had an issue with a new model who used make up that didn’t show up too well under lights. I’m not particularly good with retouching, nor do I have the time to try and learn, so I had these guys retouch her face and also shop out some marks and bruises, and they did a great job. They also have a gig that’s especially helpful to me — adding 40 comments to your woocommerce store. Even though you still have to make a spreadsheet, these types of gigs are a gift from heaven, and if you do a search on fiverr, you can find someone who specializes in your particular shopping cart (or at least a data entry person who will work on any platform).

Social media is another thing that’s extremely time consuming, on top of the usual shop duties. There are a number of article writers on fiverr to help you keep your blog updated, but they tend to be expensive and the quality varies. There are also users who will help you keep your facebook updated. Now Im just waiting for someone who can run my instagram for me!

This week has been hectic, but a great one. I completed what will probably be my last big project of 2013, a gothic bridal photoshoot. This is a shoot I’ve been planning (in my mind at least!) for about a year, and for a while I thought I was going to have to scrap it until next year, but thanks to my wonderful make up artist, we were able to make it happen. I worked with about a dozen amazing vendors and artists to put this together and I’m very, very excited about the final results. Below is a behind the scenes pic I took, look for it on a major bridal blog in the near future!

My make up artist friend and I have been working on this for the past month (we work fast and are ahead of schedule, woo!), and we just put together this teaser trailer to give you all a “taste” of what is in store from the site in the near future. Behind the Scenes: California Winery Bridal Shoot

This has been a completely crazy last 5 days! I’m glad I finally get to rest for the rest of the week (for the most part). The main reason it’s been so hectic is because of a photoshoot I styled for The Refinery Magazine at a lovely winery on Monday, which was probably the biggest production I’ve ever taken part in. It was loads of fun and I can’t wait to see the finished product in January! Enjoy this behind the scenes pic in the meantime.
