This is an update to an earilier post regarding the Consumer Products Safety Commission’s ban on youth ATVs containing lead.

I am happy to say that I saw this post today on Motorcycle USA regarding the CPSCs decision to stay the enforcement of the lead ban on youth-oriented motorcycles, go-karts, and ATVs. (more…)

Tecumseh Sells Engine Business

A week after announcing it has sold its Peerless Transmission division to Husqvarna, Tecumseh Power Company sells assets from Engine Business to Certified Parts Corporation (CPC).

This is great news for Tecumseh fans and OEM customers alike. Tecumseh has announced that CPC will purchase most of the assets pertaining to Tecumseh’s parts production and distribution. (more…)

Husqvarna Buys Peerless from Tecumseh

While this purchase has nothing to do with Tecumseh’s Engine division, this is good news for those involved with the Transmission/Powertrain division located in Indiana.

This was reported last Thursday from the Milwaukee Business Journal: Husqvarna Outdoor Products has purchased the Peerless transmission business from Tecumseh Power Co. (more…)

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) would like your children to stop eating lead. Particularly the lead in you youth power sports products such as motorcycles, go-karts, and ATVs.

The CPSC approved Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 effective August 14, 2008, was a broad measure to improve the quality of products geared toward children. More specifically, to declare lead a banned hazardous material and limit quantities in (more…)
