MoSync SDK – as a multi-platform code generator for mobile application

MoSync SDK is an opensource software works under Windows/Mac OSX/Linux OS. There are so many mobile devices especially called “smart phone” with mobile OS like as Android, iPhone and Windows mobile. I guess programmers may worry about which platform they had better focusing on.

PngOptimizer – tool for minimizing size of PNG image file

PngOptimizer is an opensource software in Windows OS. In the internet, images are very helpful to explain more than writing only with text. (As you can suppose, icons can show the meaning of various things in a small displaying area. And we still need to use images when we want to use special font for logo or so.)

PngOptimizer is a simple utility to minimize the file size of PNG image file. Although PNG file format itself has originally a compression capability, this small tool can compress more by changing the compression ratio or by deleting meta information/color profiles from PNG file. After applying the minimizing by this tool, PNG files size may reduce to half of the original file size.

If you can accurately keep track of your project, it would give you the most advantage of knowing your project’s progress.

Of course, you could use a time-tracking device, however, there is a chance that you might forget all about it ,or it’s often complicated to manage a time-tracking system. Let me introduce you to a simple and flexible time-tracking gadget called Twackr. It’s interesting to know that the Twackr system has a similar looks as the Twitter.

gameQuery is an open source jQuery plug-in coded with javascript. It’s been a news that Street Fighter 4 is out for iPhone. What is surprising is that Street Fighter 4 on iPhone works without any stress. Action games usually requires more specs to play, and now developers have a choice of making action game on iPhone.

However, web based games are more popular and easy to play. Web based games are usually made from Flash, but not from today. Game that is coded made from JavaScript, gameQuery makes it possible.

Let start by looking at JavaScript Fighter, players can’t control on this demo but the game works without stress. There are hit box and collision box. This is just a sample and doesn’t mean that gameQuery is only for developing an action game.

Canabalt, Run-Jump-Go Game is Now Open Source

Canabalt is an open source software for iOS. iOS is growing rapidly, used to be a music player and now with a network feature.

Run, Run, Run and Jump!

In 2010, a game called Angry Birds became popular in iOS and in other mobile platforms. Today, I’m going to introduce a game called Canabalt’s open source version.

Canabalt is a very simple game. Your character runs from left to right automatically, and avoid objects from falling down by jumping over them. Depending on the timing of the jump, the character fails and end up with game over.

Running speed increases steadily, but don’t be panic. Game rule is very simple and everybody should have no trouble starting the game. Reviews on App Store are very high. Flash version is also avaiable.
