&lt;br /&gt;I know you already planning for the new year, and I know some of you are still reflecting on the past year. However, I wanted to take this time of my schedule to let you know how important it is for you to make 2010 a new beginning. Hearing this statement all the time can be somehow vague, and I understand that.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;However, there's magic in this statement as well if you use it correctly.  Here are a couple of things you &lt;b style=""&gt;MUST do&lt;/b&gt; in 2010 to make it a new beginning and reach your health and fitness goals quicker. In fact, these tips can be used to accomplish any goals.
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;Before I go into details about them, I must tell you that New Year’s resolution just doesn't work. It's unfortunate, and whether you believe me or not I'm staying with my opinion. I won't convince you here that I’m correct. On the other hand, you should reflect back and count the accomplishments you've attained last year for your New Year resolution. Did you get there? Did you continue to persevere? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;      &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;You see, for most people “The New Year Resolution Thing” is very emotional and it's driven by some of the most powerful minds on the planet. Two of them are Media Monopoly and Advertisement Psycho Analysts. The truth remain, however, that most people who set up new year’s resolution goals don't do a thing about most of them, and if they do, it usually last just a month or so, especially for weight loss, fat loss and to be fitter. Why is that? Well let me stop here and give you some of my tips and hopefully you can find your answers here and the right way to go about winning for the New Year.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Number 1: Your Statement of Purpose:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt; You must have a statement of purpose in order to accomplish your health and fitness goals, and stay committed.  A statement of purpose is different than just setting a simple goal or New Year’s resolution. It's a systematic plan of why, when, where, what, and who, about what you want with a revise schedule.  A quick example of this could be something like this:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt; &lt;b style=""&gt;“I want to weigh 30 pounds less by March 23rd 2010. I want to weigh 30 pounds because I will be able to fit in the dress I always wanted and I will be healthier and at less risk for chronic disease. I intend to lose this 30 pounds working out at home 3 times a week for 15 to 30 minutes, and changing my eating habits. I will keep a journal on my desk to monitor my changes, and my emotional moods. For my reward, I will take a long weekend off work in June 2010 for a mini vacation at &lt;st1:city st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;Miami beach&lt;/st1:place&gt;&lt;/st1:city&gt; with my husband or girlfriend."  &lt;/b&gt;Having something like this and revise it every week will keep you focus and consistent towards your reality.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;Number 2:  Re-invent Yourself:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt; It's a new year therefore you must become a new you. This simply means you must start thinking differently and act differently.  It's alright to want to lose 50 pounds, however if you're not educating yourself and taking the necessary steps to lose the 50 pounds, it will not happen. If you don't start believing in yourself and have faith with certainty that it can be done, surely it will not get done. If you start and keep listening to folks telling you that you won’t lose the weight, you’ll never look like this, than it won’t happen either.
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:100%;"  &gt;The truth is, a lot of you spend more than on junk foods, sitting on the couch in front of the TV for 3 hours, and entertainment each year, and the amount surpass what you could have spent on our health, body, and mind. For 2010, make it a habit to stay more discipline towards what you want, do the right thing and be patient enough, and before you know it, you will be smiling a lot more.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;

I know many of us blame the economy, and if you don’t have the money to spend on yourself. Well, that’s simply an excuse. Let me explain!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;

Here's what she asked " Hi Ibsen, your weekly lessons from &lt;a href="http://www.burnitforever.com/"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;BurnItforever&lt;/span&gt;.com&lt;/a&gt; has been helping me tremendously. I am a little concerned about the flu season coming up, do you have any advice on what I should do to protect myself from getting sick"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay, if you've been reading my blog for quite sometime now, you are aware that I have talked about this before. Actually, there must be at least 3 posts about this subject on this blog. That's alright if you've never read them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Base on what Joane asked me, I felt compelled to share with you my answer that I sent her. So, here are 5 ways to protect yourself against the flu season.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Number 1)&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Exercise Regularly:&lt;/span&gt; Yes, you have to exercise regularly because it is a remedy for you with no adverse side effect except for muscle soreness. When you exercise regularly there are many physiological changes that occur within your bodily systems as well as neurologically.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm not going to spend a lot of time explaining all the benefits of exercise here on this post, but you should know that, it will help you cope with stress, reduce the risk of inflammation around your joint, increase oxygen uptake, and much more. By the way, you don't necessarily have to lift a bunch of weights to exercise, you can jog, run, rearrange your bedroom, wash your car, redo your garden, go bowling and have fun. As long as you stay active you'll get a lot of benefits.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Number 2)&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Wash Your Hands Often:&lt;/span&gt; During this time of year, there are many germs that are circulating around in the subway system, the car, the house, etc. After you get off a subway, car, share someone hand, make sure you wash your hands with &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;luke&lt;/span&gt; warm water for at least 1 minute. If you have dry hand, of course you want to lose some sort of "essential oil" after that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Number 3)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt; Carry A Lime In Your Bag:&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Hummm&lt;/span&gt;! a lime in my bag. Yes, lime my friend is "a powerful remedy". It's scientific name is Citrus &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;Aurantifolia&lt;/span&gt; and it has been used for centuries to help various of tribes. And yes, it was used for various ailments and still today it helps with prevention for flu, fever, scurvy, constipation, respiratory disorder and more. Here's my quick tip for you, after you wash your hands you can use the lime and rob it in your hand. When you go to a restaurant, or a cafe, use a pure of it to add to your tea or water. Even better, if you smell any bad order, smell the lime. By the way, the acid in it kills a lot of bacteria and microbes as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Number 4)&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Boost Your Immune System:&lt;/span&gt;  Think of your immune system as the wall of China and there are a lot of invaders behind the wall. If the wall fall because the invaders use some phenomenal strategy than you will crumble down. That's exactly what your immune system is. It's a well organized army comprised of the most elite fighters you can ever imagine, such as: your cells, proteins, tissues, and organs that protects you against microbe, bacteria, pathogens and much more.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So how do you boost your immune system. And now, it's late August, we're getting some real heat. So, here are a few quick tips that you can start implementing right away.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;1)&lt;/span&gt; Have a bottle of water with you or near you so you can keep yourself rehydrate&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;2)&lt;/span&gt; Avoid diuretic drink such as a lot of caffeine (coca cola or lots of coffee)because it will dry the water in your cells out and may promote fainting or dizziness&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;3) &lt;/span&gt;Wear lighter shirts and pants and socks (meaning not heavy cotton) because as you walk, your heart rates goes up and core temperature will rise, and if it's too hot and you're wearing a lot of heavy clothing that will promote more water drainage.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;4) &lt;/span&gt;Avoid heat stroke by cooling off in shaded area&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;5)&lt;/span&gt; Since the body is made off of 75% - 80% of water. When it's really hot you will lose more water over a short period of time, and you must keep replenishing faster, so your major organs (liver, kidney, heart, skin, etc) don't fail, and function optimally. So the more water you ingest when it's really hot the merrier.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ibsen&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;P.S &lt;u&gt;Remember&lt;/u&gt;: Juices and caffeine will put you in jeopardy for heat stroke and organ failure. This is a long scientific story I don't want to go into too much details here. The first thing I should tell you is “don’t panic”. Why is that? The moment anyone panics in face of any situation, tribulation, it affects your emotional state and your mental state, hence leave you more vulnerable to attack and harm.

Usually, you won't read any post from me here about the so-called "Military Boot Camp Jerk", but today I have to tell it to you like it is.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you are too sensitive and emotional please stop reading this one now because the truth will hurt you a little bit. It's for your own good, so.. Here I go :) !&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, spring has finally arrived right. Not quite, but in a few more days. What are you still waiting for? You get up every single day without a specific goal for your body weight, your waist line, nor your fitness level. That must be a shame, don't you think?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In fact, you've been blaming the economy for quite sometime now. Even worse, your good friends and family members have been getting the same verbiage from you as well. Hey! if you love your couch so much and all the bad foods you keep on eating every single day, don't blame society and technological advancement for your obesity misery or your lack of shape - blame yourself because you refuse to do something about it.  Seriously, don't you think it's time to wake up.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yes my friend, when are you going to stop blaming everyone for your lack of will, desire and success. Interestingly enough, if you were to take your first step today, you'll be closer to that weight loss or toning your body. I know! I know! it's easier said then done, right. We hear this one all the time. The truth is, it is actually easier once you take the very first step and stick to your "statement of purpose".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please mark what I said here "statement of purpose" not goals. In my opinion goals are outdated, require a lot of work, which is one of the reason why many people quit or fall by the way side.  A statement of purpose on the other hand defines your set of goals very clearly with specificity and efficiency.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's an example. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;"On June 3rd my body fat percentage will be at 10% and I will be 10 pounds lighter. Going to the gym or exercise at home 3 times a week for the next 2 months will help me get there. On that same day, June 3rd, I will go out with a couple of friends to celebrate how much more define my arms are, how much happier I am because my cellulite on my left thigh is gone, and because my trunk section is finally where I wanted it." &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This example above is simple and  more like a "statement of purpose" something you should write out in a notebook or type, print it out, keep it close to you and read it almost everyday. And no, it's not because I'm a health and fitness entrepreneur or some guru either. It's just like anything else in life you desire, right. Right after I eat a healthy breakfast, I drink another 2 full glasses of water. Basically, every time I'm going to have a snack, lunch, or dinner, I'll have 2 full glasses before and after. This does three things.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;a)&lt;/span&gt; It helps with the speed of my metabolism and the excretion of excess garbage that I ingest.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;b) &lt;/span&gt;It forces me to burn some the calories that I consume a lot quicker, because water is a negative calorie nutrient, and the body still need to raise its temperature to process it, hence burning fat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;c)&lt;/span&gt; It helps with "emulsification" of excess fat storage in my body and stomach, I know it's a scientific jargon word, right :). Well, it only means breakdown of fat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Thing #&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;2 :&lt;/span&gt; I take the basic "core nutrition" vitamin D, E, A, C, Calcium, and Omega 3  supplements every single day along side with the increase in water intake and I mix "abdominal interval training" with "running". Except for colon cleanse that I take every two weeks during each month.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The last time I check, I found out that most of us are very busy and live in a fast pace, changing world, therefore there is  "No Way" you and I are getting all these basic core nutrition every single day via food, plant, and animal. And guess what...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You need healthy supplementation to help you accomplish this. The line was long and there were a lot of people there. This lady, Karen, who looked like she was in her mid 40's based on my age analysis :) ,  and I started up on a conversation about the price increase  in stamps and the subway fare.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What exactly this short post has to do with fitness, a lot. You'll find out soon, just be patient. This lady, Karen, asked me how old I was and I told her, and then she was surprised. There was this disbelief in her eyes, and her facial expression. Apparently she thought I was 5 years younger than my actual age, as she expressed. I thought that was great she noticed that. It only proves that all my years of devotion to keep myself in shape and healthy works.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's the point I'm trying to convey to you today. I bet you didn't know that regular physical activities and proper eating habits with a good amount of sleep can diminish your age by 10 fold. And even if you knew about this, if you are not practicing what you know, then it's really a fable. And this aging thing, fighting to stay younger, has a lot to do with the physiological and pathological, processes of your body, how fast your cells degenerate, and how sharp your mind function.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The truth be told here, if you look a lot older than you suppose to, perhaps you should start cutting down on excess sugar, excess salt, excess saturated fat, try to sweat more, get more sleep, drink plenty of water daily, and stop with all the excuses you make all the time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Alright, I bet you didn't know either, there are 4 type of ages and the ones that have been given to us, base on scientific evolution is the worst age ever, the chronological age. And if you already knew that's even better.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;So here they are in a nutshell:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;1) The chronological age:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;this is pretty much the number of years that we live, and this is mainly calculated by the revolution of our planet earth and its axis. &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;Ummm&lt;/span&gt;.. not the best age.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;2) The Psychological age:&lt;/span&gt; this age has mainly to do with our brain development in relationship with our mental processes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;3) The physiological age:&lt;/span&gt; This is our physical development, what goes on inside the body.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;4) The pathological age:&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;This age refers to deterioration of the body and the mind really.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That being said, our real age is  physiological, psychological, and pathological.  And the best way to keep yourself rejuvenated is through consistent physical activities, proper eating strategies, increase sleep, rest time, strengthen your mind, water intake, and detoxify your bodily systems.  If you do all these things which aren't too hard to commit too,  you will always look younger, vibrant, refresh, and rejuvenated.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay! I literally gave up.  As I was in my office working on a project, I felt I was lacking something. My mind wasn't so sharp, and it took me quite a while to finish the project.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As I looked up at my computer screen, I saw one of my favorite poems "Give It Your Best" by Bruce Wilmer. I read it,  and I suddenly remember that I will be competing soon for a Fitness Modeling contest in a few months. This fire suddenly ignited my soul, and I felt energized.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You see, every one of you reading this post right now live for something, and this something is "The ability to accomplish our dreams".  There is a power within you that is very deep, and it's waiting for you to act on it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have a purpose,  hold on very firm to your dream, whether that'd be losing 30 pounds in 3 months, maintain your current weight, finish school, buying a home, go on your favorite vacation. It doesn't matter, you will accomplish it, once you can ignite the power that is within your soul.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Don't ever give up on your dreams, your purpose and what you love for anyone. As long as you truly want it and want to live it, you will get it. That's why this song below is one of my favorite inspirational songs of all time. I share it with you. The question asked was "what are the best ways to stay healthy and save with this economic trend?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The are many ways to do this and they are quite simple. Hopefully these 5 simple ones will help you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;#1 Cut down on gym expenses in half&lt;/span&gt;. If you were paying $100/month at a fitness club, find one that you can afford at $50. Of course some of the amenities may be a little different. The key here you are saving and finding a way to stay healthy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;#2 Prepare your food at home. &lt;/span&gt;Even though I know how to cook, it doesn't mean that I don't go out to eat at a nice restaurant. However, I have cut down my expenses in half. In fact, I have more food in my refrigerator now that I can make and go to the restaurant less. It's no difference whether you're earning  250k/year or 5ok/year,  you still can save and be healthy if you are disciplined enough.  If you don't know how to cook, watch some of the &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;weekly recipes &lt;/span&gt;that are posted at &lt;a href="http://www.bodybuzzfitness.com/"&gt;www.bodybuzzfitness.com&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;#3 Exercise at home and the park. &lt;/span&gt; If your goal is not to get bulky and gain 10 pounds of muscle mass, you don't necessarily need a gym or a fitness facility to stay in shape and have a great workout. Yes, you'll miss your buddies there, or the social environment of your club. Guess what..! you still can  have that at home as well. In fact, it could be more enjoyable than you may think. My workout was great because the entire time I was focused on one thing "finishing". I spent 30 minutes, all high intensity pushing and pulling for my upper body. I did some work for my oblique system (side abs) and my lower abdominus (low ab).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You'll find out in a few months about these workouts in a  series of videos that my team and I are currently working on.  My quick point here is this, "if you start it, make sure you finish it",  not just exercising, no matter what it is that you want in life.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How do you know if an exercise is the right fit for your body type? The best way to find out is to observe how your muscles, your mind, your mood, and energy react to the type of exercise you're doing. Pay attention to the angle at which you are either pulling, pushing or rotating. Also, try to understand how your body feels from the exercise in a couple of days, such as, are you too sore? Do you dislike it (not for quitting reasons of course)? Are you looking forward to doing doing it again, etc?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Great! you're still here with me, and I know you've been waiting to hear about my special lunch. On the side I also had long grain brown rice, made with butter, parsley and black pepper. I also had a huge bowl of dark green leaves salad with some other colorful leaves and fruits in there. My bottle of water was big too. I like Figi and that's what I had today.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Alright, how do you detect the foods that are really good for your body type, metabolic type (i.e your body may need more protein and fat, or more carbs with less protein and fat, or a mixed of them both) for you to operate optimally at your best. Well, start paying attention 5 to 10 minutes after you eat any kind of foods.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is the response of your stomach? Do you feel bloated? Do you feel heavy, light, lethargic, energetic?  Do you just get hungry again one hour after that or 3 hours after that? Do you feel gassy, about wanting to eat more and more of that food? It was a very productive day for me as usual, and the most important aspect of my day was the ability to sustain great energy throughout my entire workout session.
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Alright, let me stay in line with the quick story here. Meditation has been in existence for thousands of years. It's a form of connecting with yourself, nature and your surrounding,  beyond anything you can ever imagine. To simply put, it is a form of mental discipline that can take you from one world to another one.
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;You will not understand until you at least try it, and it can be very fun. Anyhow, I haven't meditated for a few months. Last night I decided to spend only 15 minutes doing it. The feeling was magnificent, a little uncomfortable though I have to admit, because you have to get use to and be able to focus your mind on one particular thing. My main focus last night was breathing and concentrating on how much excess of fat tissues I'm going to trim away from my waist line in 3 weeks.
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;You get the idea, right. Well, guess what! I slept like a baby and woke up 10 times with more energy and mental clarity the next day. Now, hows that for just 15 minutes as a token of great health. And yes this has a lot to do with fitness. In fact, add just 5 minutes of meditating into your lifestyle. You can do it at work while you sit, or when you lay in bed at home. You'll be amazed after a month of all the changes that will occur in your busy lifestyle, your health and your body.

I knew I set the heater on before I went to bed. What went wrong and what in the heck does that have to do with health and fitness?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Apparently,  in the middle of the night it was very hot, I couldn't sleep well, my nostrils were unhappy, the heater was blasting, and making a very strange loud noise. I got up and turned it off almost all the way and open the windows in my bedroom. Suddenly, the fresh, cool, breeze air came through the windows, and I was able to breathe  better again. What a great feeling!  Wait a sec.. I thought the heater must stay on and the windows must be closed during the winter time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I used to believe this statement. Unfortunately, my lungs, and my respiratory system never like the poisonous and gaseous air I was supplying my body and my mind. So it's inevitable that I had to rescue them.  You see, if you don't have a high hand, expensive, clean operating heater system in your house, you probably are inhaling a lot of carbon dioxide during your sleep, and  &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;foreign&lt;/span&gt; pollutants.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When you wake up in the morning, your mood will be affected, even your mind. Yes your thinking  ability as well, so don't feel bad if you lose your memory for a few minutes and keep banging your head, feet, or arms  in a few places before you're totally awake.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;See, when you close your windows completely, the natural air (well it's not so natural since there are so many pollutants in the air nowadays, at least where I live) that you and I were born to breathe is missing. If you have experimented before in the past inhaling fresh air in a very clean environment or a clean park, you'll know there's a huge difference breathing that type of air then any city air.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The lesson is this: if you keep on inhaling bad air, polluted air, and don't forget the air you are breathing in your own house may be affecting you, your spouse and your children' health, and you're not even aware of it.   You need to get your hands on a nice air filter, or even better, keep the windows a little open.  Try to breathe as much as clean air as you can, your lungs, your respiratory system, and your mind will thank you for it, even your performance level throughout the day will thank you for it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay..! In this down time, I want to save and spend less, and I still want to work out and keep my body in shape. How do I do it?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are many ways to cut down expenses and still find a way to exercise regularly. One of the best ways to do this is to get involved in Bootcamp classes. You can find a facility or fitness experts in your area that offer them and sign up for them. Usually these are low cost fitness classes you can attend for a lot less money.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can get a lot out of these classes too. For example,  you'll burn approximately 500 -1000  calories in just 60 minutes, release your stress level,  clarify your mind,  energize your thoughts process, increase your energy and stamina for the day, and much more. I've taught bootcamp classes before and they are very fun to be part of for both the instructor and the students. So find one and get involve.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The other way you can reduce cost and still exercise regularly is at the comfort of your own home or your back yard. I was flying in my dream and helping so many people in need. My grandparents used to tell me when ever you dream of flying, great things will happen the next day or in a few weeks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ironically, after I woke up I felt terrible and I was literally in starvation mode (not good) Ummm! I wonder what could have caused that? Perhaps, I went to bed too late or couldn't clear my mind. Maybe my adrenal glands were not satisfied enough and didn't want to help my melatonin hormone (sleep hormone).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think I know what it is, usually a protein type individual needs higher protein and fat to balance their body and even sleep well through the night, because the last thing that can happen is to be in hypoglycemic stage (low blood sugar).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So in my case, I totally forgot to balance my meal last night. In fact, my carbohydrates intake was so high, I should have woke up in the middle up the night and start screaming for help. So what's the point I'm trying to convey to you here.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here it is: You have to eat according to your own body type. So from now on after you eat pay attention to the food that you eat, the time you eat it, how does it make your body feel? your mind and so forth. It felt really good and my mind felt a lot clearer. I have experimented with coffee, tea, and water.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Based on my experiences I would say that water is the best drink to have in the morning. First it helps speed my metabolism because  it's a zero calorie nutrient, therefore the body is going to spend more energy to process it, thus burn calories at the same time. As for coffee, when I tried it a few time, it only increased my insulin level, changed my mood, and by the time I had breakfast I felt like my body was collapsing. Plus it accumulates more fat tissues from the sugar content.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As for tea, I found it's better than coffee when I consume it in the morning, I don't get the mood swing, and I feel like my adrenal glands keeps everything in check. The only problem I have with drinking them in the morning is the after taste, other than that, it's fine. However, for some reason, I have made it a habit to drink water in the morning instead because physiologically it's better for the body and a lot healthier. Also, since the body is comprised of about 75% of water and we lose a lot of it through sweat, urine, perspiration, I found it's better to stick with drinking more of it for replenishing as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, I share this with you because someone sent me an e-mail asking what's the best drink I value the most in the morning and why? Hope this quick answer help you as well.  I forgot to mentioned earlier, I alternate between tea and water once in a while.
