Cheryl’s ring - the saga continues!

There’s been an exciting breakthrough for the growing army of celebrity-spotters whose sole purpose in life is to check whether or not Cheryl Cole is wearing her wedding ring.

This in-your-face picture of our Chezza flashing the £160,000 band has just appeared on her management company’s Twitter page.

The caption? “3 words: Diamonds Are Forever.” Well, that’s great news about the diamonds, Cheryl - but what about your marriage to Chelsea star Ashley Cole?

Seriously though, I can’t really think of a good reason why the couple would pretend their marriage was all fine and dandy if it wasn’t. And to put it bluntly, it’s not as if they work together and have a joint brand to protect.

My not-so-expert reading of these latest break-up rumours? They’re both working very hard at the moment and probably don’t see one another as much as they’d like. Oh, and sometimes Cheryl leaves her wedding ring at home because it’s quite big and expensive.

Hold the front pages! Victoria Beckham’s just boarded a flight back to Los Angeles, following a whistle-stop visit to the UK.

And you know what that means, don’t you? Yes, we’ve got a whole new OTT airport outfit to admire - starting with that attention-grabbing ‘20s-style cloche hat.

The verdict? Well, the Daily Mail suggests the eyesight-restricting headgear isn’t necessarily the best choice when negotiating your way through an airport - while The Sun simply brands it “dowdy”.

But actually, I rather like it. In fact, I’m sitting here in a cloche hat and full-on flapper dress right now.

The rest of Mrs B’s outfit? A wool jacket and tunic, three-quarter-length trousers and a pair of Louboutin pumps…

Lily goes two-tone!

Hmmm… I’m not totally convinced by Lily Allen’s latest hairdo - are you?

The singer sported the two-tone bleach-and-black style for a gig at Manchester Apollo on Tuesday night. But don’t be too alarmed: I’m pretty certain it’s just a wig. After all, nobody’s hair grows that fast, does it?

Other talking points? Well, that red Preen bandage dress is definitely a winner - although pairing it with black footless tights may not have been the best idea. (Amanda Holden’s been spotted wearing the same frock, fact fans.)

And note how Lily bowled up in five-inch heels…

…but looked much happier once she’d ditched them in favour of going barefoot instead…

I’d go back to the trainers if I were you, Lil…

Kate’s pro-skinny slogan shocker!

Bad Kate Moss. Bad, bad, baaaad Kate Moss.

The headline-grabbing supermodel has started an almighty great row by admitting she tries to live by the motto: “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.”

“You try and remember, but it never works,” she laughed in an interview with fashion news website WWD.

To be fair, the dieting slogan was originally championed by above-board slimming organisations - but nowadays, it’s the kind of motto found plastered across pro-anorexia websites. Oh Kate, what the hell were you thinking?

Whether you like it or not, Ms Moss is a role model to millions of young women - and by appearing to condone the “cult of skinny”, she’s being incredibly irresponsible.

I really can’t imagine why Kate would say something like that - unless, of course, in spite of her super-successful career and superstar lifestyle, she’s actually a prize berk.

Think Katie Price has cornered the market in pink haircare products? Think again, folks!

Everyone’s favourite hotel heiress Paris Hilton has just launched her own similarly hued styling products - and she threw a party at LA’s Thompson Hotel last night to celebrate.

Paris’s outfit for the occasion? A cute baby-doll frock in pink (obviously) - accessorised with a selection of expensive-looking diamonds.

And the guest list? Oh, anyone who was anyone was there - as long as they were either related to Paris or bonking her, that is.

Boyfriend Doug Reinhardt looked pleased as punch to be there…

…as did sister Nicky Hilton (complete with formidable-looking shoulder pads)…

…and proud parents Kathy and Rick Hilton…

That haircare range in full? The Celebrity Styler, a multi-purpose rotating iron (“It curls! It straightens! It shines!). And then there’s The Ultimate Brush, which not only brushes your hair but will also nip down the shops and get you a pint of milk if you ask it nicely. Possibly.

Yes, it’s Peep Show’s David Mitchell and cheeky trickster Derren Brown - together at last!

How so? Well, the mildly unnerving duo have just topped Heat magazine’s annual Weird Crush poll - with Derren at No.1 and David taking the runner-up spot.

Now, I can only imagine Mr Brown used some kind of mass mind control technique on Heat readers in order to catapult himself to the top of the list. I mean, surely people don’t really fancy him. Er… do they?

Anyway, the magazine has helpfully provided full colour pictures of the Top 25 crushes - and having perused them all at great length, I have to say some are much weirder than others.

Some examples? Talent show mogul Simon Cowell is at No.5, while his cheeky little sidekick Louis Walsh only makes it to No.23 (yeah, good luck with that one, ladies).

US president Barack Obama takes the No.12 spot - sandwiched between swear-o-matic chef Gordon Ramsay at No.13 and comb-shy granddad-botherer Russell Brand at No.11.

Hmmm… Barack will doubtless regard this as one of the greatest achievements of his career so far. Keep up the good work, Mr President - and you could even make it into the Top 10 next year. Fingers crossed, eh?

Personally, I don’t have any weird crushes. I mean, there’s nothing weird about having the hots for Ronnie Corbett or Super Hans from Peep Show, is there?

You didn’t have to be a celebrity redhead to get into the launch of Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania Spring/Summer collection at Selfridges in London yesterday - but it certainly helped.
Nicola Roberts - the true Girls Aloud fashion queen - showed up sporting a bouffant ‘do and Chanel frock…

…while Florence Welch went for the "late ‘80s sixth-former" look…

Hurry, Flo - you’ll be late for General Studies!
Still, enough of what the audience were wearing. What about the catwalk looks? Auntie Viv called in Daisy Lowe to show off some big, big prints and statement necklaces…

A cute new look we can all embrace next summer - or a close representation of what it looks like if a very pretty woman tries to hide out in a box of curtains? You decide!

Stop the Katie-bashing!

Now, when it comes to making rubbish jokes or slightly off-colour comments about Katie Price, I admit I’m often first in the queue.
But in the months since her split from Saint Peter Andre, Katie’s gradually morphed into Public Enemy No.1 - with press and public alike lining up to take a pop at her.
And now she’s shown up on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! so we can all vote for her to get covered in spiders and eat kangaroo willy, too. Marvellous!
Except… isn’t this just bullying? Take columnist Jaci Stephen in today’s laugh-a-minute Daily Mail, for example. According to her, Peter Andre must look to the skies and “thank God for getting him out of his marriage to the car crash that is now Katie Price”.
Just for a minute, can we stop and ask ourselves exactly what it is Katie’s supposed to have done wrong? She’s been criticised for leaving her kids in the care of others - but so do millions of other working parents. As long as they’re being well looked after, what’s the problem?
She’s been sneered at for her fashion sense (or lack of it) - but name me an on-radar female celebrity who hasn’t flashed the flesh on a big night out.
And she’s been slammed for being a bit gobby. Well, if you had that amount of bitchiness and vitriol aimed in your direction 24/7, wouldn’t you start trying to defend yourself, too?
Katie’s far from perfect - but she doesn’t deserve all this nastiness. Anyone else with me on this one?

Becks gets a Jedward ‘do!

Still undecided exactly where you stand on the John & Edward debacle?
Well, it may interest you to note the pair have been given their biggest vote of confidence yet - because King of Everything David Beckham has just started sporting a Jedward-style spiked-up hairdo.
Becks unveiled his latest look in LA Galaxy’s 2-0 win over Houston Dynamo on Friday. And the slightly bizarre barnet got a second public outing at last night’s LA Lakers basketball match…

Mind you, dapper Dave’s version of Jedward’s ‘do does have a subtle twist or two: it’s a kind of cross between a Mohican and a quiff, plus he’s still got that weirdy beard.
For what it’s worth, I think the quiff is probably a winner - but the sooner he gets rid of that face-fluff, the better. Don’t you agree?

Flashing’s in fashion at Variety Club Awards!

Heavens to Betsy - look what The Saturdays are wearing!
Everyone’s third favourite UK girl band stole the limelight from all-comers at last night’s Variety Club Awards in London - with a line-up of eye-popping dresses.
Now, you could be forgiven for becoming distracted by Rochelle Wiseman’s very little black dress with its plunging neckline - or Mollie King’s white corset frock and black boots combo.
However, I’d like to draw your attention to Frankie Sandford’s sequined mini - which is actually more hole than dress. I mean, just look at the back of it…

Have the moths been at it? I’m really not convinced by this new-fangled trend for frocks with cut-out details. After all, even a seasoned fashionista like Sienna Miller can’t quite carry it off.
Anyway, back to last night - and flashy Frankie even managed to upstage Kelly Brook, who was looking uncharacteristically low-key and understated in a figure-hugging single-shoulder blue frock…

Alesha Dixon showed off her pins in a bronze bandeau top and printed gold miniskirt…

…although that bloke over her right shoulder looks more intent on taking a picture of someone further along the red carpet. How rude!
Could his target have been Strictly Come Dancing’s Kristina Rihanoff, who opted for a super-revealing ruffled mini?

Note how Kristina’s sent significant other Joe Calzaghe off to work the crowd behind her - while she works the cameras. Now, that’s top teamwork!
