Meet the Artist - Carol Brookes

The works of Carol Brookes are comprised of frame-like boxes constructed of wood and canvas and painted with acrylic paint. They are in essence wall sculptures. These boxes are filled with layers of colored surfaces, mixed media materials and smaller structures. So come on in and view these one a kind three dimensional pieces of art. Sunday Film Series - New York Confidential

This film noir has its scenes of incredible power, usually those revolving around Richard Conte or as he is known in the film as "Nick Magellan" who is a cold and calculating hit-man for hire. Anne Bancroft plays "Katherine Lupo" as the put-upon mobster's daughter who can't crawl out from behind dad's shadow. It has Conte dispatching with "hits", his gunshots muffled by a silencer; Broderick Crawford or "Charlies Lupo's", who presides over an influential crime syndicate in Manhattan and has repeated near-meltdowns; with murderous planning done completely straight in a corporate boardroom. Join us for this extremely valuable entry in the film noir canon. (Adult Service Program)

Every Child Ready to Read
