I am fortunate to have a background in the importing business. I have many contacts overseas and currently utilising it to increase sales in my restaurant. I am stepping out of my current restaurant to start a side importing business; importing goods from overseas and selling it online and local businesses in my area. The goods I will be importing will be the essentials my restaurant use regularly. The middleman will be eliminated and profit increase will occur.

Many of you might think to start up a importing/exporting business will take a lot of capital, but I am starting a business that requires no initial start-up cost. The business will require the consumers to put a deposit on the goods and then I use their capital to import it directly from China. The business model will be my little side business until I can generate enough capital to go big.

My first step right now is to incorporate a business, get my importing number, deal with some legal documents and then I will be ready for the market.

Lets face it, at the rate my blog is going, it will never succeed and not make any money. I am just wasting my time and effort trying to chase a dream that right now is far of reach.

This blog need traffic and lots of it. Where is the best place to get big traffic and fast? The answer is getting front page of digg.com. Seem easy right? Not really. I must write about something very interesting enough that it will make it front page.

Writing on my blog is easy, but writing something interesting enough to make front page of digg, is hard to do. For this job, I require to put on my thinking cap to write something very interesting. This might take one week or two. If one of my blog post makes front page of digg once a month, I will be a happy man. Getting front page of digg will drive huge traffic fast in minutes, but won’t last long or make little money from the traffic (most digg users don’t click on ads). But the key thing about digg traffic is it will get you some backlinks or if you’re lucky someone else will blog about your posting.

Look for me to try to get my blog on front page of digg. But in the meantime, I will be trying to get traffic to my blog the old slow fashion way.

Earlier in September, I made a $400 bet with my co-worker to see who can reach 195 pounds. After Thanksgiving weekend, I stepped on a scale and see myself passing the 200 pound mark. I weighed in at 202 pounds. This is the heaviest I’ve been in my life (it’s not fat).

Many of you might be wondering why I am trying to gain weight when most are trying to lose. I find myself on the skinny side and would like to gain some muscle. In the past years, I tried many diet plan and drank many protein shakes, but I never pass 188 pound mark. After I hit 188 pound mark and I would notice I wasn’t gaining more weight, so I would lose motivation and give up on my weight gain program.

I decided to make a bet with my co-worker because I know competing with another person will motivate me to keep eating and keep on track on my 195 pound goal. I weighed in at 175 before we started the contest. I gained 27 pounds in one month and a half! No it’s not fat and no, I am not juicing.

After I won the bet, I decided not to take his money. I didn’t get into the contest for the money, I just use it as a motivator.

We can relate my contest to the goals on making money online. When we see no money is coming, we give up. It will make you work harder to make money.

Try to use a contest to compete with your internet peer, to see who can make more money in a time period. Loser must give percentage of the revenue to the winner.

Anybody would like to take me on?

10) Don’t get into blogging thinking you are going to make a lot of money. Because it is not, if you go into blog to make lots of money and then realize you are not making little or no money at all at the beginning stages, you will quit and give up.

9) Quitting your job and do full time blog. Until you are still making the big bucks consistently, then it’s time to give your boss your two week notice.

8) Don’t let at how much the blog makes to weigh on the blog’s success. Blog take time and effort to make money. Instead the blog traffic as your motivation.

7) Don’t blog every other day. Your visitors will leave your blog if you don’t post frequently. Make sure you write something that will interest your readers.

6) Don’t rely on google to bring in traffic. Google does bring in traffic but not a whole lot. Post in forums, comment on other blogs, post links, network. Doing these things will bring in more traffic to your blog.

5) Don’t make excuses why you didn’t blog frequently. If your excuse is because you’re busy. That’s bullshit! It means you’re not motivated.

4) Don’t compare your blog to another person’s blog. Everyone’s blog is unique in content and look. If you think your blog is going to be better than John Chow’s, it’s not going to happen.

3) Don’t write about boring shit. Blog something that will interest your readers.

2) Don’t take on negative comments seriously. Not everyone is going to come to your blog and like it. If someone come to your blog and make a negative comment about it, ignore them. If they don’t like your blog, they wouldn’t read it in the first place. Negative publicity will bring traffic to your site.

1) Don`t watch porn while you`re blogging. I am not saying I do this, but it can distracting. Blog first and then watch porn after.

I was following John Chow when he first created his blog. I thought the idea of blogging was a stupid idea. Seriously who the heck wants to read about his ramblings. His blog only made him a few hundred bucks in his few months, then hundred turned into a thousand, and next thing you know it, his blog is generating him over $45,000/month.

John Chow caught the wave before the blogging world exploded. He is one of the top Blog Superstar in today’s blogging world. If you ask anybody about a successful blogger, John Chow’s name would be on the top of the list.

If you think you have missed the wave, don’t worry, with the power of the internet, someone is always going to come up with the next new hot thing that will benifit everyone into making money online. Make sure you catch on the next one.

Here some of the popular internet trends that made many people lots of money online. There are many others but I am just listing few that I had a chance to get in on.

When Sean was 14, Sean locked himself in his room and three days later, he came out along with his online website, bizchair.com. At the start he only sold a few selection of chairs with only one employee.

His well known customers included the Pentagon, Google, Microsoft and Abercrombie and Fitch.

I came across a news story about Cameron Johnson. A young self made millionaire at the age of 17. At the age of fifteen and as a freshman in high school, his internet company was pulling in about $15,000 in sales per day.

Today, Cameron is 24-years-old and primarily spends his time traveling to different speaking engagements around the world. He came out with a book called, “You call the shots”. You can visit his website at: www.cameronjohnson

It’s been over a year since I have blogged on this site. Like many new bloggers, I have given up on blogging due to lack of motivation. One main reason why I haven’t touched this blog is due to the little of income this blog was generating. Making 100/month from this blog isn’t too appealing, so I decided to quit. This is one tip many newbies should take it, making money online takes time, don’t give up even when little income is coming in.

I will blog at least twice a day for a year as part time and keep everyone posted on the income this blog is generating on a monthly basis. Hopefully by the end of the one year, the blog income will be appealing. Wish me luck!
