@inttronautt It's highly unlikely that BJP can form a govt without the support of TDP . BJP itself will not have the gumption to divide the state without building consensus(which can never happen) . And if TDP is in power which is very likely to happen CBN will never allow division to happen .. Advani made a statement in parliament early in 2000 that division is not necessary . Why do you think he did that ? CBN ..coalition pressures will not give BJP that kind of muscle even if it wants it .

Boy i am proud of you ...Your clarity on the strategy is spellbounding .All great movements in the world are about personalities .people look up to leaders not parties . There isn't a question of whether Modi is ready ? BJP is in a Crisis and they need a leader who commands respect and there is only one man who captures the national imagination .Well , in a way i thank those heavens for losing elections now , they will put more pressure on the party to take a pragmatic step .

I would have never imagined that the strength of the organisation is greater in Rajasthan than in MP.

She never seemed an appealing leader to me, as a matter of fact. And I am not aware of the ground situation in Rajasthan.

Going by what you say and what I now understand, to give her a role in national affairs seems to be a very suicidal proposition.

Look at How BJP hold's things up in several other states where it snatched power of decades of struggle . In gujarat they hung on for the last 20 years , Madhyapradesh and Chattisgarh have been retained despite less organizational strength compared to Rajasthan . BJP got elected in rajasthan because of intense activity of the cadres and Vasundhara was only there to consolidate the gains made by the cadres . The RSS is immensely strong over there . And this lady loses that state despite the organization and having performed reasonably well .

The post poll dissection has forced the leaders to take a hard look at Vasundhara's image . I am sure Advani might not have taken that decision had it been anti-incumbency .Rajasthan needed that change . Vasundhara will be given her rightful place in the national polity .

Raje is quite an appealing leader but i am taking a hard look at this decision as it was taken by Advani . Advani has changed the leadership of gujarat in a similar fashion when the BJP's fortunes were coming down in 2001 . We didn't know MODI then did we ,, similarly we may not know much about the Advani's plans ... Raje is a leader with 'Chutzpah' , has been in news more for her ramp walks and plush helicopters and cars .. She might have done good work but she doesn't much about image management which is the key in India . She definitely does not look austere and she is torturously flamboyant ,,, you may ask me what's wrong with it ... but that's the way Indian politics is ... Look at the way Sonia gandhi and Sheila Dixit dresses and our own vasundhara ,,,, it's not about dress dear it's a just a point to point at her maturity ... you need to be sober about your looks ... and the news you make ...

Who ever stops by to ask himself the question " Could such a major crisis have events happening without the knowledge of Advani ? will know the answer . Advani strategy boomaranged and fed for additional controversy . While Kandahar is a major failure of the government , BJP shouldn't be allowing congress to shoot at it hiding behind Kandahar . BJP had to inherit the lax security systems of 50 years of congress rule and there is no meaning figuring out Kandahar and Godhra repeatedly . Now it's history and BJP should refuse to answer any questions on those events unless for academic reasons . It's congress strategy to keep BJP in that cycle .

I am not sure. But I can recollect the RSS's initial reluctance to support Modi's bid for re-election in '07. I cannot though recollect the reason.

It was only after persuasions that the RSS and other sangh outfits stepped in in the last few days/weeks of campaigning. i think it could be for the same reason, if it is not at all, it is not excited at the prospect.
