The national tea party tour will be supported by paid television ads that include the tagline: “Ask yourself this, would you be willing to put your own family into the hands of Barack Obama’s socialistic health care plan?”

“We’ve been raising money to fund this effort for the past several weeks, and now we are in a position to air these ads in opposition to Obama’s government-run healthcare proposal just prior to Congress returning to Washington to take up debate on the proposal,” said Sal Russo, Chief Strategist for the Our Country Deserves Better Committee, which is organizing the “Tea Party Express.”

Starting in California on August 28th, the caravan will travel eastward towards its final destination of the massive 9/12/09 Taxpayer March on D.C.

The “Tea Party Express” is a project of the Our Country Deserves Better Committee, one of the nation’s largest conservative political action committees.

“Barack Obama’s healthcare plan is a big-government monstrosity that has evoked a backlash from the American people. With opposition from Republicans and a number of Democrats in Congress, the plan is already on life support and it’s time to pull the plug,” said Mark Williams, Vice Chairman of the Our Country Deserves Better Committee who will be one of the featured speakers on the “Tea Party Express.”

The “Tea Party Express” marks the first national tea party tour that will ignite citizen activism against Obama’s healthcare plan as well as continued opposition against out-of-control spending, higher taxes, bailouts and the “Cap & Trade” global warming fiasco. The tour will come just as Members of Congress are feeling the heat from their constituents at townhall meetings in their district.

“If Members of Congress thought they were feeling the heat for their wrongheaded policies now, just wait until August 28th,” said Williams.

The Tea Party Express features action-oriented conservative spokespeople and entertainers such as talk show host Mark Williams, Marine Mom Deborah Johns, National Tax Limitation Committee Chairman, Lew Uhler, Tea Party Patriots coordinator Amy Kremer, singer Lloyd Marcus, YouTube sensation Rivoli Review, patriotic singer Diana Nagy, and many others. At each rally, the tour will be holding local members of Congress accountable for destructive legislation and policy that reeks of socialism and threatens to permanently cripple the American economy.

The campaign will include a television, radio, and Internet advertising blitz throughout the state of Nevada reminding voters that Harry Reid has stiffed taxpayers with huge government bailouts and wasteful pork-barrel spending. Also, Reid’s attempts to cut off funding for U.S. troops, insults towards General David Petraeus (calling him “a liar”), and declaration that our troops’ missions in the War on Terror were “lost” will also be cited in the ad campaign.

The initial wave of the “Defeat Harry Reid” advertising campaign will total over $100,000. Our Country Deserves Better PAC will additionally spend in excess of $1 million against Reid between now and the Nov. 2010 congressional elections.

The campaign will be unveiled today at a press conference in Reno, NV and tomorrow at a press conference in Las Vegas, NV. Attending the press conferences will be:

* Deborah Johns: Pro-troop activist who service as a Vice Chair of the Our Country Deserves Better PAC.
* Sharron Angle: Four-time State Assemblywoman who announced her intention to challenge Reid in 2010.
* Don Gustavson: State Assemblyman from Sparks, Nevada.
* Michele Turner: President, Nevada Republican Women.

On Tuesday, May 26th there will be a protest against Harry Reid outside of the fundraiser being hosted for him by President Barack Obama at Caeser’s Palace Colosseum. The protest will take place from 5:00pm-6:30pm.

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee has announced it will launch a multi-media, independent expenditure advertising campaign in the New York 20th congressional district Special Election.

The Special Election takes place on March 31, 2009 and features New York Republican Assembly Leader, Jim Tedisco, against Democrat, Scott Murphy.

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee PAC will be broadcasting television and radio advertisements both support the conservative Republican candidate, Jim Tedisco, and opposing the liberal Democratic candidate, Scott Murphy. The radio and television ads will air in both the Albany and New York City media markets.

Total ad buy is expected to reach well into the hundreds of thousands by Election Day. The ads will begin running this weekend.
