There is lots of talk of social media being the next big thing in business, but many people do not know how to incorporate it into their businesses. The Social Media Business Forum, was held on October 23, 2009 at the School of Education at North Carolina Central University in Durham NC featured national and regional speakers from marketing companies, technology companies, and social networks discussing ways in which business communications have changed with social media engagement. With passionate panelists, great speakers and over 250 business leaders and social media practitioners in attendance, the first SMBF was a great event for learning, sharing and connecting.

Ignite Raleigh

Several hundred members of the Raleigh community will witness the presentation of fast-paced, high-minded ideas. Ignite events were originally conceived as technology variety shows, but they have grown into much more than that. Ignite is about ideas. Ideas can change the world. And it takes less than five minutes to spread one. Each presenter gets five minutes on stage with 20 slides that rotate automatically after 15 seconds.

Triangle Tweetup

In 2009 we organized 8 plus tweetups. Some tweetups were focused around music, food, entertainment and others around the entire Triangle Twitter community, social media and new media tools to bring tweeple from all walks together. Our first Triangle Tweetup in 2008 had an attendance of 35 to 40 people and since 2009 Triangle Tweetups have grown to 250 plus attendees.

The mission is to use not only twitter but social media/online tools to bring the Triangle community together for networking with the purpose of learning and engaging offline to enhance online relationships and build business connections.
