<p><strong>Knights of Columbus</strong> 1<sup>st</sup> Degree ceremony will be held next Saturday, February 25<sup>th</sup> at 3:00 PM. </p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>The St. Katharine Drexel community</strong> is excited to host her feast day on March 4th and see our church family from Riggins and McCall as well as our Christian friends from Cascade. Please mark your calendars and we are asking each person to bring canned or dry food for the community food bank&#8230;in honor of St. Katharine. A copy of your favorite recipe for our cookbook would be greatly appreciated as well! Mass begins at noon</p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Idaho Catholic Appeal: </strong>The 2012 ICA will take place on March 3-4 in every parish in Idaho which makes up the Diocese of Boise.  This year’s theme<strong>, We Are One Body</strong>, reminds us of our unity as the one Body of Christ.  It reminds us to share our gifts for the benefit of 13 diocesan ministries.  A wide range of ministries depend on our generous support including Parish Life and Faith Formation, Seminarian Vocations Program and Idaho Retired Priests.</p>
<p> All registered parishioners will be receiving a letter from the parish with a brochure and pledge envelope inviting participation in support of this year’s ICA.  Please return the completed pledge envelope to the offertory basket the weekend of March 3 &amp; 4.  Your generosity will allow our Catholic Community to continue the many  vital programs and services that touch the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ who need your assistance Our parish goals for this year are: <strong>OLL- $15,473.64, SKD &#8211; $3,301.40 and SJ &#8211; $857.56</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Plans for Lent:  </strong>Fr. John will lead us in a short version of the Stations of the Cross lasting approximately 15 minutes:</p>
<p> Riggins – after Saturday Mass</p>
<p>McCall – before Saturday Mass</p>
<p>              -after Sunday Mass</p>
<p>Cascade – after THURSDAY Mass.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>OLL will also pray the Stations of the Cross on Friday evenings at 5:30 PM followed by a simplified soup supper</p>
<p>St. Jerome’s will pray the Stations of the Cross on Friday, time to be determined.</p>
<p> Lenten Retreats:  Fr. John will lead us in several retreats this Lent.  The tentative schedule is:</p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Retreat for Ministers</strong> (those who serve in any capacity in the parish)  Saturday, March 3<sup>rd</sup>  from 2:00 to 5:00 PM – bring notebook and your Bible</p>
<p> <strong>Retreat for Youth</strong>:  From Grade 4 up – Saturday, March 10<sup>th</sup> &#8211; bring a notebook and Bible</p>
<p> <strong>Retreat for Entire Parish</strong>:  Saturday, March 17<sup>th</sup> – Bring notebook and your Bible.</p>
<p> <strong>Retreat for St. Jerome’s</strong> :  Saturday, March 24<sup>th</sup> following the 9:00 AM Mass – bring a notebook and Bible.  The retreat will last for 3 hours.</p>

This was also the cause at the heart of the mission of St. Katharine Drexel.</p>

Once you get to the webpage scroll down and opt to register as a youth. From there you will be asked for a user name and password. The line- up of speakers for this year’s conference is very dynamic. The theme<strong>, ARISE! at the sound</strong>, will challenge you to respond to the call of Christ in your life. brought to us free from Blessed Sacrament High School Retreat Team in Ontario, Oregon. The retreat title is: Dreams, over the rainbow and under fire. This theme is meant to better prepare you for the challenges faced by youth in our world today. Please join us if you are in Middle or High School, and be prepared to experience a vibrant faith from the youth at Blessed<br />
Sacrament Church in Ontario. Flyers for this retreat are available on the table downstairs, or you may contact Beth Rainford 634-5368 for more information.<br />

coordinators for all ministries and organizations in the church until a Parish Pastoral Council can be formed by election.<br />

They will also present a Christmas skit entitled: What God Wants for Christmas. Please plan to attend.</span></p>

<p><strong>&#8220;Our Giving Tree.</strong> The tags on our &#8220;giving tree&#8221;  represent children and adults from our parish and community who could benefit from our generosity, and are meant to</p>

<p>brighten their homes on Christmas Day. Tags requesting p.j.&#8217;s, socks, and age appropriate book are for children served by our local food bank.</p>
<p>1.  Take a tag/tags, follow directions on the tag regarding gift(s)</p>
<p>2.  Wrap your gift(s) and attach the numbered tag to the gift.</p>
<p>3.  Bring back to church and place under the giving tree or by the food bank basket in church kitchen area.  <strong>Please return your wrapped gifts no later than Sunday, Dec. 18th.</strong></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Handmade Gift Items: </strong></span><span style="color: #000000;">A table of handmade items are available for sale in the Parish Hall. All proceeds from the sale of these items will be donated to the food bank. Thank you Barbara Strickler for your generous donation of time, talent and treasure.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>First Sunday:</strong></span><span style="color: #000000;"> Please join us for First Sunday at St. Katharine Drexel. Everyone is invited to join in after Mass and enjoy the company of one another.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Remembrance Poinsettias</strong></span><span style="color: #000000;">: Are you looking for a way to honor a deceased loved one this Christmas? For a donation up to $20 their name will be placed on a poinsettia adorning our church. To participate, contact the parish office by phone, email or through the weekly collection.</span></p>
