When a t-shirt and a song inspire, websites can happen. The result – a new design for oustcat.com. Oustcat.com was inspired by a song and a t-shirt both called “Afternoon Delight”. The goal was to update the dated design, and implement a content management system (CMS) to manage my work.

While working in Atlanta, I misheard a friend say “oustCat”. I immediately loved the term and recognized the anagram. I set out to create a visual representation and used my tailless, black cat as a model. The blue was derived from the color of my hair, and the collar from my own that I wore. oustCat soon became my social avatar and eventually my logo.

oustCat represents creativity, and fearlessness and freedom in the face of diversity.

And, yeah, I make things pretty.
