Have you ever lie and ditch someone and try your hardest to come with up with a very good excuse of why you couldn’t go. Well for this guy, he said he was sick. So, the girlfriend called him up not knowing he’s at the bar…Watch and find out how he got out of it. So funny! I couldn’t stop laughing.

What kind of excuse have you said or thought just to get out of the situation lately?

Many clients frequently ask me “Why Should I blog?” The question I immediately think of is… “Would ask someone to marry you on the first date?” Of course not, blogging is the communication that takes place between your brand and prospective/current clientele. Your series of blog posts are courtship. Courting your prospects can and will lead to sales. Make your prospective customers fall in love with you first, then they will do whatever you want. No more “Cold Calling”… all your calls are now Warm. Not only does blogging establish and solidify relationships with consumers/clients, blogging will increase your web traffic and Search Engine Ranking.

Companies that blog receive 55% more traffic than companies that don’t. The fact is Google LOVES blogs! Google is a big fan of new reliable content. Every blog article that you create is another website page that the 3 GIANTS: Google, Yahoo, & Bing have to choose from when displaying their favorite pages. The more pages of fresh interesting content you create, the more choices your brand provides the search engine giants with to display when people are looking for things. With soooo much content already published, how do the 3 Giants choose what to display first?

Prospective customers are not the only ones your brand must win over. You have to make the Search Engines fall in love with your blog pages as well. Search Engines love pages that have high authority and many links to them. The way to accomplish this is by constantly producing interesting content people will want to link to. Rome was not built in a day and true love is not formed in a few months. The same applies to raising your site authority. It takes at least a 6 months to a year of producing interesting creative content and acquiring enough quality links to be able to truly compete. Many small to medium size businesses do not have the infrastructure to produce constant effective blogging campaign. So they seek out professional help with blog creation and other aspects of SEO Inbound marketing. If you do choose to outsource your blogging campaign, make sure the company that’s creating your blog post understands your industry and produces articles are consistent with your brand.

Your blog should be an extension of your brand, giving your views about various topics, positioning your brand as a thought leader withing your industry. It will also act as the face of your brand. People buy from people not companies. The easier people can relate to your company, the more comfortable they will be spending their valuable time and money with your company. There are specific steps that you can take to make your blog creation life easier. In my next post I will go over those steps to ensure that you will easily be able to create relevant compelling blog content; making your prospective customers fall in LOVE with your brand.

Michael Jackson may not be here with us anymore but his spirit is still present in the hearts of million of people. This old skool commercial is very wise-using the strategy of using celebrity to endorse their product. And to top it of, using a catchy song and tweaking the words to best fit the product. Which in this case, “you’re a pepsi generation” targeting the younger consumer.
Very catchy! What do you guys think? Can you think of other type of commercial that may be similar to this?

We may be a little late to be commenting on this fabulous commercial, but better late than never right?

Audi did a fantastic job with this one! It’s very funny and gets the point across about their new “escape old luxury.” They are obviously trying to get people away from the idea that Audi is only for rich old men. We think this ad campaign is a great way to target their younger audiences. I mean come one, after that who doesn’t want an Audi?

Let us know what you thought of this commercial or any others we have posted! Comment below.

Recently there have been some mishaps with social media marketing. For example, controversies between Groupon and CP&B and Chrysler and New Media Strategies have led to the big question; whom do you allow to represent your brand?

The controversies have taught us a lot this year. Before social networking, you need a social media policy to govern who represents the brand and what the rules are. Twitter and Facebook are not marketing strategies. When social media is integrated into the overall marketing strategy everyone is more likely to understand the brand message.

Groupon fired ad agency CP&B over the horrible Super Bowl ads Crispin produced, saying they had put too much trust in the agency.
Chrysler cut ties to ad agency New Media Strategies after one of its employees hit send on the following tweet: “I find it ironic that Detroit is known as the #motorcity and yet no one here knows how to fucking drive.”

Kenneth Cole during the Egyptian revolution tweeted “Millions are in uproar in #Cairo. Rumor is they heard our new spring collection is now available online at http://bit.ly/KCairo -KC” When an Internet uproar followed, a second Tweet was issued four hours later “Re Egypt tweet: we weren’t intending to make light of a serious situation. We understand the sensitivity of this historic moment -KC” The offending Tweet was soon deleted, and an apology posted on the brand’s Facebook page: “I apologize to everyone who was offended by my insensitive tweet about the situation in Egypt. I’ve dedicated my life to raising awareness about serious social issues, and in hindsight my attempt at humor regarding a nation liberating themselves against oppression was poorly timed and absolutely inappropriate.” This particular mistake did not appear to have long-lasting impact on the brand, which is known for outrageous advertising and messaging. That may be because an apology was issued quickly, or it may have been luck and timing – two things no brand should depend upon.

With social media becoming a huge marketing tool in the digital world, more and more people can post tweets and comments that speak for a whole brand or agency. Despite companies becoming more personal and creating more of a relationship their client, they still have to remain professional and remember that everything they say on Twitter and Facebook represents who they are to the world.

To avoid controversies such as the ones above, agencies such as Boston ad agency Outlaw Media are taking social networking seriously. Facebook management is an important supplement to a company’s marketing mix, and has a great deal of effect on their existent and prospective consumers.

Years ago the little Geico Gecko warmed his way into our hearts with this commercial. We all know that we love talking animals, but a talking animal with an accent, now that’s even better!

Geico commercials have been using the same slogan and marketing plan for years now, and we love it. The little British Gecko is hands down one of my favorite spokes pers–sorry, spokes animals. This commercial, in my opinion is the most memorable, and most adorable of all their 15 minute car insurance selling commercials.

Marketing is constantly changing in this digital age. All businesses need to be taking advantage of social networking in their marketing strategy. The new word in the marketing world is social CRM, social customer relationship management.

Social CRM helps you communicate with your customers using new social media tools. Listening to what your customers and potential customers are saying about you online and then participating in those conversations in order to build trust and interest is the key to the success of your business. Companies need to acknowledge and understand the significant impact social networking plays in consumers’ beliefs and behaviors and how that drives and changes the way your potential customers think about and interact with your brand.

Social CRM is really about managing customer relationships wherever they happen, regardless of whether it’s within a controlled experience. Right now many of our most dynamic and authentic conversations are happening on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Yelp. Online Americans spend nearly a quarter of their time on social networking sites. Customers are coming from the social online world much more than emails.

The key to social CRM is knowing where your customers are so that you’re directing your efforts in the right direction. Make conversation, even though as a marketer you may not be able to control these conversations. From the conversations, you can take the knowledge you gain from listening to them to fine-tune your marketing to better connect with your audiences.

In order to thrive in today’s marketplace, marketers from every vertical need to understand what’s being said about their brand in the social sphere. CRM programs should be run and monitored, continuously. Always participate in the conversation.

One of social CRM’s biggest advantages over its offline counterpart is the sheer volume of real-time data at your disposal that can be used to personalize the experience. And the more personalized the message, the more relevant it is to consumers, and for marketers. This is where a relationship with your customers begins.

Social CRM effects your brand. However, being constantly concerned with facebook management is hard in addition to running a business. A Boston Ad Agency such as Outlaw Media can help your business with social media marketing.

Their new redesign therefore changes companies’ approach to advertising. Facebook management is very important for a successful marketing strategy.

Facebook first introduced it’s new design as an optional layout, but this week, Facebook will begin rolling out its redesign to all pages that haven’t already been switched over to its new format. The overhaul makes the pages look and feel more like user profiles. Facebook hopes this will create a more cohesive experience across the platform for its more than 600 million users.

These changes impact marketers’ Facebook strategies by giving brands more ways to interact with their communities on a more personal level.

Three ways the redesign can shake up your approach to Facebook page management are as follows:

1. Brand pages can now communicate and interact with one another. As social media has empowered brands to behave increasingly like people, Facebook is propelling the trend by allowing pages can interact on other page walls as a brand, via “liking” or commenting. Create conversations between pages to create a cohesive experience, or alert people to additional pages within Facebook. Now with pages instead of profiles, brands can now post on their walls to foster a relationship.

2. The new redesign has limited the visibility of tabs. Now marketers will need to bring eyeballs and clicks to your inside pages through creative design, messaging or even paid media. To increase this success, make sure your profile image is not too long, as it could run the risk of pushing tab links lower down the page. Meanwhile, Facebook ads can drive consumers to the tab of your choice. Facebook has added powerful iframes, which allow similar functionality as a normal website within a tab. Page owners can now integrate tracking platforms like Google Analytics, Coremetrics and Omniture, display Flash elements and video without the extra “click” to activate them, and add other interactive functionality.

3. Your page can now interact as a brand or as an individual.
While most administrators will continue to post as the brand. If you represent a brand and want to have a unique voice on the page, look into creating your own page and use that to interact with people within the brand’s Facebook community. If you have a page with fewer fans and limited engagement, set up email notifications so you can stay closer to interactions on your page and respond to them faster.

How much do you want your page to sound like a brand versus an individual? While it may be tempting to rush in and play with the new creative options Facebook has added with the redesign, it’s the perfect time to step back and evaluate how they’ll help you use Facebook to further your marketing goals. A Boston Ad Agency like Outlaw Media can do that for you.
