Sir June Gay Bar

Last Saturday, I was in an adventurous mood that I took the time to visit a gay bar in the heart of Pasig called Sir June.

I have heard that there was a gay bar along Ortigas Extension but never got around to find and visit it. It lies along Ortigas Extension and one can say it is discreetly located that you cannot distinguish it from the videoke bars in the area. The night I went to this establishment they had a special show called "Hamog sa Tag-Init" (which roughly translates to Dew of Summer) so I was revved up with the promise of a special show.

I got there at 10:30pm. Well, it did say on the banner outside that the show will start at 10pm so I was fashionably late. Guess what? It did not. As it turns out, there was only one other group who got there before and the show has not yet started. I was thinking it was a slow night or this was how it was in this bar. The show did start at 11pm with 12 guys wearing black undershirt and maong shorts in their bare feet gyrating on the stage one after the other in sleezy music. After 12midnight, when most gay bars start to have their dancers start stripping off all their clothes, I was expecting the expected. Their second set costume consisted of their underwear and boots. Their special show for the night was a sort-of competition between 3 of their younger models.

All in all, the place was clean enough with the comfort room, though a bit rustic, was properly maintained. The air conditioner was not enough to fully ventilate the bar that they need ceiling fans to assist in cooling their patrons. Prices are reasonable considering it was a Saturday and they supposedly have a special show. There was no actual menu but they do offer some finger food, just inquire with the waiters. The bar tolerates smokers and provides an ash tray upon settling down in your table. Their floor manager was accomodating, much as their dancers who strike a conversation towards enticing you to purchase a macho drink. My expectations were quite high since I have been to other gay bars and expected an exciting show. Of the limited number of macho dancers that they featured, only two were good looking. From the two, only one stood out because he had equally sexy body and was more than happy to display it. It was a let down that when they were gyrating on the stage some were wearing underwear that were loose. Usually, macho dancers will wear the skimpiest outfits, if not, nothing at all to thrill their audience. In this case, they were neither flattering to the dancer nor enticing to those who were watching them. I guess because of my expectations of gay bars, I had a heightened expectation of a lot of flesh exposures. I left by 3am and at that time only 2 of their macho dancers had shown their wares.

It was not such a bad field trip. Maybe I'll drop by again one of these days.

The phone-in-between trick

I’ve already shared two discreet (but maybe inconvenient) ways of exchanging phone numbers with another guy. One is leaving a card or a piece of paper in sight of the other guy, and the other is doing hand signals. I’ll share another way and that is what I call the phone-in-between trick.

Basically, you sit beside each other and one of you will place his phone between the two of you while both of you are doing some other thing. The other guy will then pick up the phone and key in his number (and optionally the name) then place it back down for the other guy get. That’s all there is to it.

I learned of this trick when I was in the locker room of spa that shall remain unnamed. I had been exchanging glances with this stocky hunky chinito in the wet area, when I decided to sit down at a bench in the locker room to cool off for a bit. After a while, the guy went to the locker room to get dressed and leave the spa. After going to his locker, he then sat beside me while drying his feet and then placed his cellphone on the bench between us. I glanced at his phone and saw that it was unlocked and I took that as a hint, especially when I realized that he could have placed his phone on the other side. So I then discreetly entered my phone number and then my name into his phone. After a bit, he picked up the phone, looked at it, gave me a small smile, and stood up to get dressed. Easy as pie!

It’s definitely easier to just ask for a guy’s number straight out, but in places where you need to be discreet and to not attract attention, tricks like these are better and, frankly, much more fun! :-)

Theater Cruising

Have you visited a moviehouse not to check out the movie being shown but to pick up or be picked up? Have you had encounters in a dingy cinema which features movies out of current circulation?

I would admit, my very first encounter has been in a moviehouse in Quiapo. I was a late bloomer. I was strictly guarded by my parents and I would just be travelling from the house to the school and vice versa. It would not be until I got to college that I got to explore. I have heard of the old moviehouses in Quiapo and after a long period of mere curiousity, I got to experience it myself.

Back then, there were a lot of these moviehouses near Quiapo Church that show "bomba" films. Two were along Quezon Avenue at the same side as the church while another two were on the other side of the street. Three were nearer Isetan, along Recto while there were another two along Rizal Avenue. Many of these have already been closed or demolished but back then in the 80's, you can take your pick.

For the uninitiated, what would expect if you do take the excursion. Guys will normally be in the foyer area or near the comfort rooms. When you enter the cinema proper, it would normally be very dark, with hardly any track lighting so you really have to grope your way when finding a seat. The best seats for me is near the electric fans. The place can get hot and unless you have a spare shirt with you, you can get drenched with sweat.

If encounters in movie houses is not your peice of cake, various motels are located nearby but there is not assurance that they are any less dingy than the moviehouse you came from. Back when I was young and naive, I let others lead the way and take me where they wanted me to be but now older, and maybe wiser, I would rather be in a comfortable place. I have heard some modus operani that people get cornered by their hook ups because the owner of the motel conspire with the conmen.

It is a gamble when meeting people in these kind of places so always be careful. You don't have anything to hold against them - no picture, no identification. It might be safer to chat and start with a date then progress from there. However, if anonymity and the possibility of danger is what brings you thrill, then these encounters will probably give you a boost.

Though there are still moviehouses like those, even in Cubao, many have opted to cruise in more upscale cinemas like SM North Edsa or Megamall where staying in the backrow now would probably yield a hook up.

If you plan for an adventure, take care of your belongings. If possible, don't bring a watch or a cellphone. Don't bring a large amount of money and always be mindful where you drop your clothes because the floors can get sticky. Be happy but safe guys.

John Matthews Salon

It was another Saturday. I wanted to get a massage especially since I have been so stressed at work and all. And I was not in any mood for a so-so massage. I have tried other spas, both legitimate and those that have masseurs that offer extra. One that I have been coming back to is the John Matthews Salon located near the corner of New York Street and E. Rodriguez in Cubao.

It is accessible from Cubao and lies within what I term as the Cubao gay men's triangle of sin (which I will discuss on a later post). John Matthews Salon, as the name implies, is basically a salon. Get your hair done, get a manicure or pedicure, puff up your face with make up kind of salon. A few such salons have integrated spa services to allow consumers a sort of one-stop shop for beauty services but they usually have it as a secondary service. Most spas focus on their services and rarely diversify to other offerings. It is rare that one could find a place that would focus on both services (salon and spa) and be good at both.

I am not one to put much airs in fixing myself up. I don't have lotions or creams. I rarely put anything on my hair to sculpt it. I usually trim my own nails. Mind you. I do get facials once in a while, but that's it. Getting a massage, now that's something else all together. I have tried out a lot of different places and have rarely found satisfaction with their services. Most legitimate massage places have small women stretching you, kneading your skin, trying to provide the right pressure but to no avail. Massage parlors, whether it is one where you select a masseur or masseuse from behind a (supposedly) one-way mirror, seldom are venues to experience a relaxing massage as these are venues that facilitate "extra services." In other words, it is not often to find one that satisfy your needs. Sorry, I am looking for one that offers hard massage, bordering on deep tissue massages so a light hand is not what I would look for in a therapist.

That is where the John Matthews Salon comes in. They do have female therapists but their male therapists are worth coming back for. There have been times where I have been lulled to sleep by their massages.

When I do have the time, which was last Saturday for me, I go out of my way and visit them. There have been times that they could not accommodate me because their masseurs are already booked for the night so calling in for a reservation or coming on afternoons would be better. They also have a combination of spa services that may provide for a more relaxing, satisfying time. These offerings include detoxifying, foot spas, hair and scalp treatments, facial masks and body scrubs.

The offering I availed was one that had a body scrub, a hair and scalp treatment and, of course, a body massage. It was worth it. Time-wise, it was two and a half hours well spent on pampering yourself. In terms of cost, I felt it wasn't a waste. For others who would like to try it, there are other treatment combinations that you could avail, depending on what you need.

I got there around 9:30pm. Their spa services are available until 1pm. There was only one available cubicle left when got in. And luckily enough as well, my usual masseur was the only one available. If he was not available, I was comfortable with trying out the others. I then proceeded to the locker area where I was to get my towel, slippers and shorts/robe, leaving my valuables, clothes and shoes inside the locker. I had a shower. The therapist led me towards a chair where he applied some concoction on my hair and scalp. He fastened some sort of towelette to make sure it does not drip and covered it up by a shower cap. We walked to our assigned cubicle to begin the body scrub. Similar to the massage, he start from the back of my legs then up to my back before scrubbing the back of my arms. Turning me over, he kept scrubbing up my legs to the groin area before the chest and arms. Covering me up and resting for around 10 minutes, I was then asked to return to the shower and make sure that I had removed all of the coarse material that helped rid of my body's dead skin cells. After I am all dried up, the masseur led me back to the massage table and with his magical hands explored my entire body. Using a firm hand and a strong pressure, he made an effort to sooth my swollen muscles. After doing some stretching, I was allowed to rest awhile. It was time for me to go.

I felt both relaxed and invigorated as I left their premises. It also seemed i was so clean and smooth because of the body scrub. That was time well spent. Quality time for myself. Quality pampering from John Matthews Salon.

Before the Internet: Ayala Triangle

I’m always interested to hear how things were like for the hidden PLU community before the advent of widespread Internet. For sure, finding like-minded guys was a helluva lot harder then than it is in this day and age. Now we have plenty of online venues such as social networking sites, Internet relay chat (or IRC), and even blogs like Discreet Manila to provide us with tons of connections and information. Well, I’ve seen a documentary last year which showed how the gay community was in the United States in the 1970s, but I also want to see how things went here in the Philippines.

Before the Internet, I imagine that discreet cruising skills like the look or even silly ones like the leaving-your-card trick are one’s best assets for meeting other guys. From there, you get to build your set of gay PLU friends and you are then able to obtain news, and information on cruising spots and gay-friendly places from your network.

Anyway, thanks to this really enlightening (and old) blog post by the Corporate Closet, I had learned that one (surprising!) cruising spot back in the 1980s was Ayala Triangle in Makati. Who knew? Back then it was called Ugarte Field and that’s where you could meet upscale yuppies for quick sex or even just companionship. I guess it’s inevitable that gay guys would flock to dark parks in the same we gravitate to comfort rooms.

Dreamboy Gay Bar

Another Saturday, another adventure. This time around my curiousity brought me to the Dreamboys Gay Bar located near the Betty Go Belmonte station. With its proximity to Cubao and being along Aurora Boulevard, it was quite easy to locate.

Why did I decide to visit this particular gay bar? I got an email through one of the yahoogroups I am subscribed to that they have a big night. It will be the Grand Finals of the Search for Mr. Dreamboy 2009. I almost did not go as I met some friends and it was difficult to get away from them and explain where I was headed. Luckily, I was able to escape and be at the bar by 12 midnight. As I mentioned on my blog about the Sir June Gay Bar, midnight is when their dancers start losing all their clothing. And in this case, I was expecting that the competition would be starting at that time.

Similar to my experience two weeks ago, I was early again. At least, this time around there were a number of patrons already in the venue. More than half the number of tables were occupied. It seems it was a big night indeed. The competition did not start yet but dancers were gyrating on the stage in trunks and they were either titillating the audience with the promise that a big one is lying erect under the thin cloth they are wearing or they leave nothing to the imagination. One after the another they strutted and teased up until half past 1 when the contest proper was on the way.

While waiting for the Search for Mr. Dreamboy 2009 to begin, I was approached by their floor manager to be a judge. Of course I accepted. I felt so priviledged to be asked but as I was not really on the out and out, I did not really provide my full name. There I was not only ready to enjoy the spectacle of seeing the gay bar's best of the best but also all set to objectively judge the candidates based on what the floor manager explained to me.

Once the pseudo-contest was on the way, my eye feasted on the eye candy parading in front of me. I half-expected to see more seasoned performers here especially since that was the impression from what I heard about this bar. Pleasantly surprised. As it turns out for 2009, they have rolled out invitations to newer macho dancers. They had their new wards compete for this year's Search for Mr. Dreamboy. They had an interesting array of participants - some on the muscular side, some almost twinky, a few a little chubby, some moreno, some fair - but all well-endowed and sexy. They were more than willing to up the ante as they tried to out-perform each other.

They started out with what they called as the national costume portion but I would hardly call these national costumes. The talent portion followed. That took quite some time since the dancers really made an effort in their performances. They had more costumes and back up dancers. I enjoyed each individual's efforts. Unlike my last gay bar trip,definitely all the macho dancers knew how to dance and none of them were stiff nor were they just going through their paces. All well-endowed, all flexible, all graceful. Since the talent portion took almost two hours, they rushed through the casual wear, swim wear and sports wear.

Around that time I realized that the competion was rigged. Because it tookso long, a few of the judges already left. We were also asked to contribute some money. From one of the dancers I got to talk to (and these were the ones not involved in the competition), the amout one contributes influences who wins. It discouraged me a bit but I just continued rating the dancers based on the criteria they supposedly set. They still did the interview portion but one would notice that the people they want to win were asked additional questions unlike the other dancers. Anyway, I did stay to the end - I believe I was the only judge left in the bar and just a few tables were still occupied. And as expected, (It was revealed by the dancers I was able to talk to during the night) the one they said was going to win did win.
All in all, a different experience. I enjoyed it though and if I was going back to the same gay bar, this would be it. They had a higher entrance fee but it was worth it especially with their big night. The place was well ventilated, even if the place got full. The guys were more than your average joes. They were not just picked up from the streets. They knew how to dance and they gave their all when they were on the stage. For me it was time and money well spent.

With this particlar bar, when they say it is a big night, they do deliver. Hoping when they do hold a different kind of big night, I am able to visit them.

13 Different Types of Bisexuality

According to J.R. Little, bisexuals can be categorized in terms of their sexual desires and experiences and include:

Alternating Bisexuals – one relationship at a time, the first might be exclusively straight, the next exclusively gay and vice versa. Alternating Bisexuals are usually monogamous.

Circumstantial Bisexuals – primarily heterosexual but bisexual because of circumstances, eg; Prison where there are no women/men available.

Concurrent relationship Bisexuals – have a primary relationship with one gender, but may have multiple casual relationships with partners of the other gender.

Conditional Bisexuals – will switch sexuality for personal gain, eg: Gay for Pay.

Emotional Bisexuals – have intimate emotional relationships with both genders but only have sex with one gender.

Integrated Bisexuals – have two or more concurrent primary relationships one with a man one with a woman.

Exploratory Bisexuals – testing the water seeing if they like it.

Hedonistic Bisexuals -primarily straight or gay/lesbian but will switch purely for sexual pleasure.

Recreational Bisexuals – bi only when drunk or high. “Party Bisexual”.

Isolated Bisexuals – currently straight or gay/lesbian – but has had one off sexual encounter in the past which qualifies them as bisexual.

Latent Bisexuals – has strong yet so far unsatisfied urges to go the other way.

Motivational Bisexuals – will go bi to satisfy a partner, e.g. straight women agreeing to an MFF threesome.

Transitional Bisexuals – the only type of bisexuality the gay community understands, the one “going through a phase”.

And since I was rummaging through the old files of our film "Huling Halik" which was shot two years ago in Baguio, I might as well share with you some unreleased photos of Joeffrey Javier, one of our leads.
Joeff, according to his co-workers is one of the kindest people they have worked with. He usually is a quiet guy and would never impose himself on anyone. And according to the gay people around him, he was never abusive unlike some of his colleagues.

Ang sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs) ay mga sakit na maaaring mahawa sa anumang uri ng pakikipagtalik o sexual contact. Isang halimbawa ng STD ay ang Tulo/gonorrhea. Ang tulo, na may siyentipikong taguri na gonorrhea, ay isang uri ng sakit na makukuha makaraang makipagtalik sa tao na may impeksiyon nito. Malimit itong tawaging “tulo” dahil sa nanang lumalabas sa titi o puke ng maysakit.

Ang sanhi ng 'tulo' ay ang bacteria na Neisseria gonorrhoeae, kaya ito ay tinatawag na sakit na "Gonorrhea". Gaya nang nabanggit, ito ay maaaring mahawa sa pamamagitan ng anumang uri na pakikipagtalik. Dahil ito'y maaaring walang sintomas o senyales, posibleng makipagtalik nang hindi nalalaman na may tulo o gonorrhea pala ang katalik.
Ito ang mga sintomas ng tulo sa lalaki:

1. Pagdanas ng kirot o hapdi sa bayag o titi tuwing iihi
2. Pagnanana ng titi
3. Makirot na pag-ihi (minsan hindi na talaga makaihi)
4. Lagnat (sa ibang kaso lamang)

Makalipas ang ilang buwan o taon, maaaring makaranas ng pamamaga ng tuhod o kasukasuan ang maysakit, bukod pa ang iba pang karamdaman.

Ang nakakatakot sa tulo o gonorrhea ay ang mga complication; maaaring ipanganak na bulag o may problema sa mata ang isang sanggol kung nagkaroon ng tulo ay kanyang nanay habang siya ay pinagbubuntis. Maaari ring magdulot ng isang malalang impeksyon (pelvic inflammatory disease) sa mga babae. Sa lalake naman, maaaring ma-impeksyon ang prostate o ang epididymis na bahagi ng dinadaanan ng semilya. Sa ibang tao, nagiging sanhi ito ng PAGKABAOG.

Dahil nakakahiyang pag-usapan, maraming mga STDs na inililihim at hindi ikinokonsulta. Ang nangyayari ay paggagamot sa sarili o self-medication. Ngunit hindi ito magandang gawin. Una sa lahat, tama nga ba ang iyong haka-haka kung ano nga ba talaga ang iyong karamdaman? Paano kung magkamali ka? Huwag mahiyang lumapit sa doktor sapagkat ang mga doktor ay may prinipsyo ng "confidentiality" na nagsasabing hindi kailanman maaring ipagkalat ng doktor ang anumang sasabihin mo sa kanya.

Ano ang gamot sa tulo o gonorrhea? Antibiotiko o antibiotics ang solusyon. Kinakailangang ipatingin sa doktor kung anong uri ng antibiotiko at gaanong kadami at gaanong kadalas (dose and frequency) ng gamutan. Kung mayroon kang tulo o gonorrhea, malamang ay mayroon ring tulo ay iyong asawa o sexual partner kaya dapat siya ay ipatingin at gamutin rin.

Mas mabuting kumunsulta sa inyong doktor upang masuri kung anong tamang gamot ang maaaring gamitin at ligtas para sa inyo. Ang iyong sakit ay hinde isang karaniwang sipon o ubo lamang. Nangangailangan ito ng espesyalista sapagkat kailangan mo ng antibayotiko. Subalit ang tulo ay maraming dahilan
kaya dapat ay ang tamang gamot ang iyong inumin dahil dapat ay LUBOS kang gumaling dahil ito ay maaaring magpabalik balikat makakahawa ka ng iyong kapartner. Komunsulta agad sa doktor. Minsan kapag hindi na nakuha o tumatalab ang iniinom mong antibiotic maari kang turukan ng mas mabisang gamot (intramascular) sa bandang pige o puwitan. Masakit yun at mahal, sige ka.

Paano nga pala maiiwasan ang tulo o gonorrhea? Ang pinaka-mabuti parin ay ang pagiging matapat sa asawa, o kaya pag-iwas sa pakikipagtalik sa kung sinu-sino. Ang paggamit ng condom (safe sex) ay makakaiwas rin sa tulo o gonorrhea, ngunit hindi ito 100% na sigurado sapagkat maaari ring makuha ay gonorrhea sa pakikipaghalikan o kaya oral sex. Maaaring maipadala ang gonorea sa pamamagitan ng pagdaan sa mga mata.

Tandaan, nasa huli lagi ang pagsisisi. Kaya bago tsumupa o magpatira siguraduhing hindi ka mahahawa o makakahawa. Maging responsable tayong nilalang. At higit sa lahat maging "faithful".

Monti Parungao's The Escort - Surprising Serendipity

There’s something implicit about Karlo’s (Miko Pasamonte) disposition about his trade. He’s straight forward without being intrepid. Yet a sense of innocence surrounds his demeanor. Karlo works as an escort, accompanying gay men in concupiscent holidays in Boracay, performing prurient private shows with his hustler friend (Jommel Idulan) for gay old men, etc. “Kung gagamitin niyo lang ako, mag gamitin tayo,” he reasons. He is quite celebrated too with referrals coming in from satisfied customers.

One day, he meets 18 year old Yuri (Danniel Deramayo) in a bar. The young virgin strikes up a conversation with the escort who later finds out that the charming, albeit hapless lad is inflicted with an illness that, though non-infectious, might be terminal. He also meets a psychic who could foresee an individual’s future. And something numbing worries the latter. Later that night, Karlo finds Yuri in a carinderia near his pad. The two strike up a genial conversation that soon had sparks flying. And the unexpected happens in the most romantic way. Check this conversation:

Karlo: “Ikaw, nagkajowa ka na ba?”
Yuri: “Wala rin.”
Karlo: “Bakit naman?”
Yuri: “Ngayon pa lang kita nakita eh.” (and he sheepishly grins)
Karlo: “Loko loko.” (Karlo moves closer to Yuri who then quips…)
Yuri: “Wala akong pambayad sa yo.” (Yuri whispers and smiles tentatively.)
Karlo: “Huwag kang mag alala. Tumatanggap naman ako ng utang.”
Do we foresee a happy-ever-after?

Some of the lines may be simplistic or cheesy, but the execution gives them a veneer of warmth and tenderness unusual in local homoerotic flicks. There’s no denying the inherent charm of a serendipitous romance tackled in the film.

Monti Parungao’s “The Escort”, based on Lance Collins’ story, with a no-nonsense script by Lex Bonife, took me by surprise. If you’ve been following this blog, you should be aware how much I despise many of these gay-oriented flicks because they tend to be exploitative, dull and unimaginative. I always maintain that good films should have a universality that comes through and could be appreciated even by a straight crowd; something that’s almost rare among Philippine Pinks. This is why we hold Brillante Mendoza (who has his share of Pink ouvres) and Joselito Altarejos in high regard. They don’t dumb down their audience.

The film is short, but the exposition that follows a few days in the life of a pragmatic hustler is compelling. Sure, there’s a de rigueur shower scene, but you realize that it isn’t the raison d’etre of the narrative. And we clearly appreciate this. Too bad the film has limited screening.

Miko Pasamonte passes muster, but he isn’t disadvantaged by a borderline script. In fact, it helps him acquire a sense of legitimacy. Danniel Deramayo, a member of the “Hotmen”, does even better. He imbues his character with innocence and fragility, allowing his “first time” to come off as sweet and tender. Yup, BFF Kyle, just like a Purefoods hotdog. J Bonife pays attention to particular details - like when he shows Karlo collecting stones because they remind him of home. I like that.

Of course there are loopholes in the narrative: when Yuri gets taken to the hospital, none of his relatives come for a visit. He’s said to get admitted 2-3 times a year. So who foots the bill? At his hospital bed, you hear the respirator working, yet Yuri is merely hooked to an oxygen nasal cannula. And what seizure disorder has him unconscious for days? I’m sure it was mentioned, but there’s room tone distraction, thus audio is patchy. Some lines are out of sync as well.

And yes, it concludes in the same artifice as Bill Condon’s “Twilight – Breaking Dawn Part 2” – but then this validates Karlo’s pragmatism. It was almost delectably funny. For the ninnies who only appreciate pink flicks with full frontals, they should be leaving the cinema with tongues a wagging. Pasamonte generously displays his considerable chorizo in a morning-after scene where he wakes up naked in bed. Yes, Urduja, it’s a full frontal flopping-down-the-stomach glory. Yet somehow the scene didn't seem gratuitous.

Corollary to this concern, whenever we travel abroad, we’re embarrassed by the spate of Filipino Film releases that get peddled overseas. Let's take Silom Road in Bangkok, for example: if you scour the street leading towards sleazy sois of Patpong (and even soi Cowboy), you will be amazed with their benevolent collection of Filipino Films proudly represented by the likes of “Lagpas”, etc. If these epitomize our slice of the film pie, reflecting Pinoy artistry, for foreign cineastes, then we should all troop down the gunungs of Indonesia and hide in a cave forever, debah?

Straight Men Have Sex with Men Still Be Straight?

There is a lot of talk about Bromances these days. The urban dictionary definition of a bromance is described as "complicated love and affection shared by two straight males." But what if the two men decide to have sex? Does that make them gay or bisexual?

When girls do this in Girls Gone Wild they are not accused of being latent lesbians or bisexuals. Their sexual orientation is not speculated about at all as it turns out. But this is different for me.

Understanding Straight Men Who Have Sex with Men

There's growing evidence that many men who have sex with men aren't all gay or bisexual. According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 3 million men who self-identify as straight secretly have sex with other men-putting their wives or girlfriends at risk for HIV infection and other sexually transmitted diseases.

A recent New York City survey that appeared in the September 19, 2006, issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine found that nearly 1 in 10 men say they're straight and have occasional sex with men. In addition, 70 percent of these men are heterosexually married. In fact, 10 percent of all married men in this survey reported engaging in same-sex behavior during the previous year.

To best understand these men, therapists and clients need to be able to differentiate four terms that are often confused: sexual identity and orientation; sexual preferences; sexual fantasies; and sexual behavior. Contrary to common usage, they aren't always in alignment.

Sexual identity and orientation encompasses one's sexual and romantic identity, in which thoughts, fantasies, and behaviors work together in concert. It's the alignment of affectional, romantic, psychological, spiritual, and sexual feelings and desires for those of the same or opposite gender. Sexual orientation doesn't change over time. One's sexual behaviors and preferences might change, but like one's temperament, one's orientation remains mostly stable. The term also refers to how someone self-identifies, not how others may categorize him or her. Some people self-identify as straight, while others self-identify as gay or lesbian, bisexual, or questioning. It's important as therapists to ask your clients how they self-identify, regardless of with whom they have sex.

Sexual preferences refer to sexual acts, positions, and erotic scenarios that someone prefers to have while engaging in sexual activity. The term takes into account what individuals like to do and get into sexually, not necessarily with whom they like to do it. Preferences and erotic interests can change over time, as one becomes more open or closed to certain thoughts and behaviors.

Sexual fantasies are any thoughts that one finds arousing. They can encompass anything-sexual positions, romantic encounters, body parts, clothing and shoe fetishes, even rape. Sexual fantasies aren't necessarily acted out. In fact, in many cases, they aren't.

Sexual behavior is any behavior intended to pleasure oneself and/or one's sexual partner. It doesn't necessarily reflect one's orientation. For example, men who are imprisoned engage in sexual behaviors with other men, but do so out of sexual necessity, not because of erotic interest in another man. They desire the behavior and the sexual release it achieves, and the gender of the partner is secondary.

For straight men who have sex with men, same-sex encounters aren't about romance or sexual attraction and desire, but about sexual and physiological arousal-"getting off" with another who's male and accessible. They don't sexually desire or get aroused by looking at other men, only by the sexual act. But if they don't actively desire other men, how do they get to the point of having sex with them? These men typically want to bond with and get affection from other men. Their behavior may reflect a desire to experiment, to engage in something that's taboo, or to express inner psychological conflicts involving their sexual feelings and desires that have nothing to do with having a gay or bisexual identity.

Straight men who have sex with men do so for a variety of reasons. Some have been sexually abused and are compulsively reenacting childhood sexual trauma by male perpetrators; some find sexual release with another man more accessible; some have sex with men because it's easier and requires fewer social skills than those required to have sex with women; some are "gay for pay" and get financial rewards; some like the attention they receive from other men; some like anal sex, which they're otherwise too ashamed to talk about or engage in with their female partners.

When I learn that a straight client is having sex with men, I ask a series of questions: What is your interest in men? Do you prefer one type over another? Do you feel drawn and compelled to satisfy your sexual urges with men? Do you care about the physical appearance of the man? Do women play any role in the fantasy? Is it different for you if they aren't? I also try to listen for the themes running through their sexual interests and fantasies, which often decode aspects of their personal identity and histories.

How Jake Cuenca Courts A Girl

It’s often that people always associate the title “bad boy” to hunks like Jake Cuenca. But contrary to the stereotype, Jake is actually an incurable romantic. He’s currently single but has revealed to Style Factor that he is entertaining someone. “I’m in the dating stage. But there is no pressure at the moment because I’m really busy. She’s really busy, too,” he shares.
When it comes to courtship, Jake says he’d rather be friends first. “When I was younger, uso yung nanliligaw. Like you really have to court the girl,” he says. Later on in life, Jake realized that putting your best foot forward isn’t the way to go. He no longer believes in the idea of courtship because and says that “When you’re in a relationship, then that’s the only time you see the person’s real colors and personality.” And that’s why friendship plays an important role for this hunk, and that’s what he tries to achieve first. “You know, pakiramdaman nalang kayo if you guys like each other but at one point, if it’s too obvious already, then that’s when I will tell the girl na I really like her.”

When it comes to wooing a girl, Jake goes the extra mile. “I do a lot of efforts for girls,” he says. “There are no limits to the things I can do. When I was kid, I would see it in movies and it’s something I want to do in real life. I love giving gifts and I love surprise.” His biggest surprise by far was when he booked an events place where he invited a girl. “I told her that there was a family party there; that I wanted to introduce her to my family. When we got to the events place, the whole place had Post-its of her name and there’s a mural of her there,” he further tells the story. “There was just one table in the middle. We had dinner and cheesy songs were playing,” he recalls.
He wishes though to travel with his special someone. “I would really love to travel with a girl and experience new things together.”

While Jake’s love life is still on the hush, he says that he just wants a girl who is very understanding. “Syempre my first impression with people is that I’m not the good boy type. It’s often that I get judged,” he says. “I just want someone who has consideration. Most of all, I want someone who is very spontaneous. I want to be in a relationship where there are no plans—to just live a day at a time and as if each day is your last. Eventually, when the relationship takes its course—when it matures—that’s when you think of the future.”

Matagal ko nang gustong masubukang makapanood ng gay-themed indie film sa sinehan pero di ko talaga magawa. Pero on my way home kagabi, I saw na showing pala sa REMAR cinema sa Cubao yung Indie film na "Imahinasyon". Sobra ang kaba ko habang tumatawid ng kalsada. Hindi na rin kasi ako baguhan sa mga ganitong uri ng sinehan at alam ko ang mga "kababalaghang" nangyayari sa loob.

Naaalala ko pa ang unang beses kong panonood sa ganitong uri ng sinehan. Sa isang sinehan sa Quiapo na katabi pa mismo ng simbahan. Nasa 3rdyear college ako noon at kasama ko si Paul, ang unang boyfriend ko. Since that time eh may kasama ako kaya siguro walang nangahas na lumapit. Siyempre kami ni Paul yung nagkapaan hehe. Pero di na namin tinapos ang pelikula nang mapansin naming halos lahat ng tao ay wala sa pelikula nakatuon ang pansin kundi sa paghahanap ng laman.

Kapansin-pansing napaglipasan na ng panahon ang REMAR cinema. Tinanong ko ang matandang babae sa ticket booth kung magkano ang isang ticket, pero yung guard na ang sumagot sa tanong ko. "P110.00", ang wika ng guard. Pagkaabot ng ticket ay agad akong pumasok sa loob. Agad kong napansin ang kakaibang amoy sa loob, amoy luma at mabaho na hindi ko mawari kung bakit. Pagkabukas ko ng pintuan ay agad na nagsilingunan ang mga tao sa loob, marahil ay sinisipat kung "yummy" ako. Agad akong umupo sa pinakadulo ng upuan habang halos lumukso sa kaba ang aking dibdib. Agad na umagaw ng pansin sa akin ang isang chubby na lalaki sa kabilang dulo na abalang-abala sa pagjajakol ng kanyang sandata habang pinapanood ng iba. Napansin ko rin na halos lahat ng tao sa loob ay matatandang lalaki, at waring di sila mapakali sa paglalakad sa loob ng sinehan. Agad kong kinundisyon ang aking utak na tanging panonood lamang ng pelikula ang aking pakay, at hindi ako papayag na matikman ng mga gurang na ito.

Nang magdilim ang buong sinehan ay nagsimula na ang palabas. Pinigilan ko ang aking sarili na matawa dahil hindi ko nagustuhan ang pelikula. Ang babaw ng plot, saka walang lalim sa pag-arte ang mga tampok na artista.Pero aaminin ko na cute yung bidang lalaki (yung napapagitnaan ng dalawang lalaki)

Uminog ang kwento sa paghahanap ng kasagutan ni Jeram sa katauhan ng diwatang laging laman ng kanyang mga panaginip, si Diana. Kasama ang kanyang kaibigan, binagtas nila ang masukal na kagubatan hanggang sa mapadpad sila sa bahay ng bagong kasal na magsing-irog. Si Ana, ang babae sa bahay na kanilang tinuluyan ay malaki ang pagkakahawig sa babae sa panaginip ni Jeram. Nang minsang mapag-isa sa bahay sina Jeram at Ana ay naganap ang isang mainit na pagtatalik. Batid nina Ana at Jeram na mali ang kanilang ginawa, kaya naman kinabukasan ay agad nang nagpaalam ang magkaibigan na upang bumalik na ng Maynila.

Dahil sa pagod ay napagpasyahan ng magkaibigan na matulog sa damuhan. Muli ay dinalaw si Jeram ni Diana sa kanyang panaginip. Lingid sa kaalaman ni Jeram ay may lihim na pagtingin sa kanya ang kanyang kaibigang lalaki. Dito na pumasok ang M2M sex sa pagitan ng magkaibigan. Pagkatapos nilang mailabas ang init ng kanilang katawan ay nagtapat rin si Jeram na may pagtingin rin sya sa kaibigan. (Promise tawa ako nang tawa sa part na to! Haha)

Sa kanilang pagbagtas sa masukal na gubat ay naligaw ang magkaibigan. Hanggang sa may nakasalubong silang matandang lalaki na nagsabing maligno ang mag-asawang kanilang nakasama sa loob ng ilang araw.

Hindi na ako babalik sa sinehan na yun! Once is enough hihi.

Gay white wedding held at Tokyo Disney

Two lesbians have become the first gay couple to tie the knot at Tokyo Disney Resort, both decked out in fairytale white dresses despite an initial ruling that one had to wear men's clothes.

"My love Hiroko and I wore wedding dresses and had a mini-parade in DisneySea, a place I also love," Koyuki Higashi, 28, said on Twitter.
"I was really happy!" she said.

The event on Friday was the first homosexual wedding in the popular amusement park even though gay marriage has no legal standing in Japan.

"We may not have a law that applies to us, but when someone congratulates us for the wedding, I will proudly say 'thank you!'" said Higashi.

The couple first hit the headlines after the theme park initially told them there would be no problem with the ceremony provided they dressed "like a man and a woman".
A staff member said a same-sex wedding would create "repercussions" among visitors if both brides wore wedding dresses or both grooms donned tuxedoes.

But just few days later the resort operator got back in touch to say their initial response had been wrong and gay couples were free to mix and match their attire.

Higashi posted photos from the celebration on her Twitter site, showing both brides clad in white and accompanied by Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Indie Movie 'Pikit-Mata'

“Pikit-Mata (Blind Submission)” written and directed by Ronald Carballo for Gerron Entertainment. Ferdie Lapuz, who coordinates the entry of local films sent to various international film festivals, said the programmers of Toronto International Filmfest has seen it and is very much interested in it, even praising Ronald’s direction of the film. In all fairness to the movie, it has a solid narrative and is not like the usual local sexploitation gay film that has very flimsy stories and just bank on the sex scenes.

“Pikit-Mata” stars newcomers Jay Austria (who’s from Tagbilaran and works in a call center before taking the audition for the movie) and Victor Escobar (who used to work in Resorts World) as the sons of a poor couple, Nadia Montenegro and Mike Lloren, who earn very little as ‘tahong’ vendors in Navotas. To augment their family’s income, Jay sidelines as a male prostitute, later followed by Victor. The film is titled “Pikit-Mata” because the parents turn a blind eye to what their sons do in the flesh trade.
The title also refers to the sex scenes where partners close their eyes while in the throes of sextacy. And there are many such scenes. Jay has a kind and loving lover in an elderly barber, Ernie Garcia, who did bed scenes in his heydays as a male sex symbol in the 70s, but never like this. Jay also has a bed scene with Soxy Topacio, a dirty old gay who does all sorts of perversities with him. Soxy even has his own unabashed nude scene in the movie.

Jay likewise does a love scene with Romano Vasquez, an older callboy who teaches him about their trade and turns out to also have the hots for him. But his most shocking sex scene is with RS Francisco, a gay customer who asks Jay to do a threesome with him and another partner. This is also one of the most moving moments in the entire film but we can’t reveal the details since it’ll surely spoil your viewing pleasure. For this scene alone, we’re sure foreign audiences will find the movie far different than any other gay film they’ve seen before.

Victor, in turn, has a hot love scene with Ross Uy, his Kuya’s best friend, and with his classmate, Juancho Revilla who’s a former Ginoong Sta. Cruz, Laguna. With the latter, he figures in a deadly love triangle with another gay classmate that ends up in a fatal shooting in a mall, reminiscent of what happened to SM Pampanga. Victor is also shown being abused by a hunky closet gay cop, Dax Alejandro.

The film, that can definitely stand some trimming to quicken its pacing, takes a tragic turn when someone is diagnosed to have a terminal disease. Well photographed and with shot in fresh locations, the film will certainly do well in gay markets abroad, which we believe is their actual target. For his next movie, Ronald and Gerron Entertainment are now shooting “Kalam (Hunger)”, which is not a gay film but a socially relevant one about hunger among the poor, also starring new actors.

Marian, Gerald win top honors at Golden Screen Awards

Kapuso actress Marian Rivera choked with emotion while Kapamilya artist Gerald Anderson stayed calm as they received their Best Performance By an Actress in a Drama Series and Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series trophies respectively at the 2012 Golden Screen Awards of the Entertainment Press Society (ENPRESS), Inc. in Teatrino, Promenade Greenhills in San Juan on Friday, March 1.

Marian won for “Amaya,” while Gerald bagged his latest award for “Budoy,.” Where he played the title role.

“First time ko nanalo (ng acting award) after seven years in showbiz. Inaalay ko ito sa pinakamamahal ko na si Dong (boyfriend Dinddong Dantes),” Marian announced.

Gerald, on the other hand, offered his award “sa lahat ng mga kagaya ni Budoy.”

Neil Ryan Sese of “Munting Heredera” and Paulo Avelino of “Walang Hanggan” tied for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, while Helen Gamboa bagged the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series award for “Walang Hanggan.”

ABS-CBN, which earned a total of 26 trophies, won the Outstanding TV Network award.

The Dolphy Lifetime Achievement award went to veteran actor-director Eddie Garcia, while the Helen Vela Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to Gloria Romero (Drama), Nova Villa (Comedy), and Mel Tiangco (Broadcasting).

The awards rites as hosted by Julia Clarete, Kim Atienza and Anjo Yllana. Among the presenters were Kris Aquino, Richard Yap and BB Gandanghari.

Techniques Sa Mas Masarap na Paglalaro

Talaga namang maraming nagtatanong sa akin kung paano ba mas mapapasarap ang pagjajakol. Kung hindi ako nagkakamali nagbigay na ako ng mga tips upang mas maging nakakalibog at kaaya-aya ang pagpaparaos o pagpapaligaya sa sarili. Maari niyong bisitahin ang previous post nating pinamagatang: "Tips Para Sa Masarap Na Pagjajakol". Gayunpaman, dahil si Boy Libog ang Hari ng Kalibugan, meron parin akong maibabahaging tips:

1. Dapat meron kang privacy. Kasi wala nang mas sasarap pa sa pagjajakol kung hindi ka nagaalala na mahuli ka. Huwag kang matakot para hindi awkward para sa'yo.

2. Relax lang parekoy. Huwag kang magmamadalipara magenjoy ka sa pagpaparaos.

3. Kailangan merong pampadulas. Mas nagiging kakaiba ang pagjajakol kapag may KY Jelly.

4. Kailangan mo ng visual stimulation. Pwedeng porn video, magazine, or pag-imagine sa isang tao/sexual fantasy mo na kinalilibugan mo ng sobra.

5. Dapat magaling kang humawak kay manoy. Magiging mas pleasurable ang pagbabate kapag may iba't-ibang alam kang paraan ng paghawak. Dapat din binabago-bago mo ang pagbaba at pagtaas. Tipong bibilis tapos biglang babagal. Meron akong natuklasang website na nagbibigay ng tips sa paraan ng paghawak sa titi:

May mga techniques akong ibabahagi sa inyo:

1. Malamig na Yelo. Sa unang mga diskarte sa masturbation, magsalsal tulad ng karaniwan mong nakagawian, ngunit kapag sa tingin mo malapit ka nang lumabas ang tamod, humawak ng mga yelo cubes o durog na yelo sa kabilang kamay, pagkatapos ay magpatuloy sa pagjajakol. Sa ganoong paraan, mararamdaman mo ang iyong tamod na naglalakbay sa pamamagitan ng iyong katawan, naghahanap ng paraan upang makalabas.

4. Daliriin. Panatilihing suot ang iyong brief o underwear at hayang tumigas ng kusa ang burat. Kapag ikaw ay nasa sagad na katigasan, i-tap ang dulo ng iyong titi/butas ng mga dulo ng iyong mga daliri. Kiskisin ito. Dapat tumagal medyo mas mahaba kaysa sa karaniwan para sa iyo upang maabot ang rurok.

5. Habang nakatayo, itabingi ang iyong kamay na may pampadulas nang sa gayon ay ang iyong hinlalaki ay nakasalungat sa iyong pusod. Ibalot ang iyong kamay sa paligid ng iyong titi at sa halip jakulin gamit ang iyong kamay, kumadyot o kantutin ang kamay pataas-baba.

Sports Stud: Björn Barrefors

This week’s Sports Stud is a super sexy 23 year old decathlete named Björn Barrefors. I figured I needed to take a break from the usual rugby or football players and pick a sport that wasn’t based on balls. Although there aren’t any balls being passed around for decathletes, there certainly balls are certainly lot exempt from this sport. I’ll get to that shortly.

Originally from Stockholm, Sweden, Barrefors now studies and trains at the University of Nebraska and his major is computer science. I’m pretty sure he’s a sophomore now.

Considering he’s a decathlete (which as you probably already know, trains and competes in essentially all track events), I don’t have to tell you how in shape this guy is and how toned of a body he has.
