One of my professors in university was a health psychologist and used this technique everyday. After ten years she was able to throw away her glasses. She had actually reformed the lenses of her eyes to the point she did not need glasses anymore! Astral Projection is one of the oldest forms of visual imagery and its applications are endless when it comes to finding happiness and love through knowledge of the Self in relationship with the rest of the world.

In my journey of self discovery I have studied many different forms of Self exploration. This usually was a masculine practice of stilling the mind, emptying the thoughts as completely as possible so as to rest in the witness position and watch the feminine movement of life force untainted by the distortion of intention, expectation and opinion. Although this is a great way to understand the difference between the witness and that which is being witnessed, it did not help me to understand how they function together to create what I have come to know as reality.

After trying many different forms of meditation I found one of the most profound tools I have ever come across was astral projection. This form of meditation entailed being able to project yourself onto another plane of existence where there is no time or restriction. The mind was free from the body to open in ways that could shift the framework of the universe. Here lies the connection between the conscious and the subconscious, all the tiny little fibers that connect everything in the cosmos together.

My great friend Aha introduced me to this form of meditation at the age of about thirteen. I had no idea at the time what a profound effect it would have on my psychological work in the field of Emotional Intelligence. The first experience I had, Aha guided me through the process.

I started by finding my center, aligning myself was easy even at this point as even at this early age I had practiced other forms of meditation. Deep breaths into the stomach, expanding outward with each exhalation I drifted deeper and deeper into a relaxed state.

Aha guided me at first asking me to picture a door, I found the door easily enough. Then he told me to put a symbol onto the door that consisted of three lines in any sequence or form, solid or broken, vertical or horizontal. The symbol could be either a symbol I may have seen before or the first one to come into my mind. I simply put three vertical lines upon the door. Aha then instructed me to open the door.

I opened the door and I saw the most beautiful meadow with rolling hills, I could see something that looked like a tree on a distant hill, I went inside. As I went through the door I noticed that to my right there was a black wall reaching as high and as far as I could see. Upon further examination I realized that it contained stars and looked much like a night sky, maybe it was the definitive line between night and day.

After I entered through the door Ahas' roll was simple, he asked me to describe to him what I saw and what I felt as I navigated through this unfamiliar place, never did he make a suggestion or interpretation, just simply asked about my experience as I went.

I remember walking through the field; it was that incredible almost lime green color that grass is after days of rain. The further that I walked and the more I described things to Aha the more authentic it became; I could eventually feel the cool soft grass beneath my feet.

I stumbled down a hill that ended at a crystal clear stream escorting a small fence on the other side through the knoll. The sound of the stream gently gliding over the polished stones was invoking a sense of peace, the kind of which I had never known before. I walked through the stream and felt the cold crisp water send a slight chill up my body. I could feel the wood under my hands as I grasped the fence to climb over it. It was as if I was in a dream but I could control everything around me, the feeling of mastery over this dominion was almost intoxicating.

After climbing the fence I slowly made my way up the hill toward the tree I had seen when I first walked in. The tree was much bigger than I had thought but the size contributed to the incredible beauty it cast within its shadow. I remember the vivid feeling of the coarse bark as I ran my hands over the trunk. I circled the tree to see an enormous sun in the sky on the other side. I was surprised, as I had not seen it up to this point. Within the sun held the face of Aleister Crowley, who later on in my life played a big role in my quest for understanding.

I knew that in the beginning of this experience it was me that was telling my mind what to see but quickly the mind slipped a split second ahead to the point that I felt as if I was chasing my thoughts and grasping at them one by one, I did not know where they were coming from but I felt I had control when I reached one as long as I had already let last go. Thoughts soon became very fluid.

The thing that amazed me the most through this first experience was that I felt an inner peace that when I came back helped me understand better the relationships around me. It was as if the murky water through which I saw life had settled and I could see clearly now.

The more I explored this state of mind the more I realized that when I was there I could see my conflicts in terms that I understood. Here all thoughts and emotions appeared as physical manifestations that are far easier to relate to. It is the way we are conditioned, to see and control energetic interactions in terms of cause and effect in the physical world; it is all we know and can identify with.

When we take complicated concepts such as emotional and psychological conflict, things that have such a profound effect on us but they are not physically tangible, and teach ourselves to see them in terms that we can understand, we see relationships and interactions in a far simpler manner. When these things get simplified it becomes a lot easier to deal with them.

Everything in this astral-plane is in your subconscious, but good or bad you face your greatest emotions, love, happiness, jealousy, hate or even fear as they manifest themselves in physical form, the key is they can change form in this place. We soon find that emotions do not have any form besides what we bestow upon them, in this moment you feel love with your partner but your partner is not this love, if they devastate you they become that which takes you away from love.

Too many people like to average these feelings and call it my mother or father or husband or wife but then you are conditioning yourself to limit the depth of emotion available in the moment. A piece of wood that is burnt becomes ashes, but we should not take the view that what was formerly wood is now ashes because although it progressed from one stage to the next the stages are clearly cut. What is wood is wood, what is ashes are ashes.

Astral projection is a perfect tool to help us understand the difference between a thought and an emotion because although emotions are the building blocks of our physical reality and how we create our thoughts they are not the same. Thoughts in fact are limitations we place upon our emotions. We must ask ourselves what were these emotions before we name them love, anger, frustration? And why must we then put them in terms of cause and effect?

A very good friend said once "You have the right to refuse anyone sex or anything else at any time, but you do not have the right to refuse them love because love is understanding.

Understand one another. Love one another. Not just in this community but in the world.

You don't have to associate with a fool, with a foolish man or someone that aggravates you or gets on your nerves. Someone that causes the vibrations around you become static and ridiculous. But don't fail to love him! During this experience, we observe the world (or other worlds) from a non-physical point of view and with non-physical senses. The 'projector' finds themselves outside their physical body and released from any physical constraints.

The name 'Astral' is given to describing anything associated with these energetically-focussed, rather than matter-focussed, phenomena. It comes from the root aster, meaning 'relating to a star' or 'starry'. For example, we perceive astral light in the Astral Plane via the astral senses of our astral body, etc. So 'Astral Projection' is simply the term used to describe how to consciously 'arrive' and 'be' in the Astral Plane. Regardless of the seemingly occult term, it is as entirely natural a process as breathing is.

For what is not commonly known is that we all experience Astral Projection when we are asleep. Most of these projections are called 'unconscious' simply because we aren't trained to remember them. Others we may later interpret as dreams (but we should note, not all dreams are projections.) At times we have complete waking consciousness during the experience, and remember the event in great detail when we return to our physical body.

This can happen to anyone, as a total surprise, and entirely spontaneously (though it is less frequently spoken of) It can occur to anyone at any time - while relaxing, while sleeping, during sickness, under medication, during an accident, during meditation, etc. At least one in four people remember some kind of experience like this in their life, so this kind of spontaneous projection experience is not uncommon.

The main idea behind learning Astral Projection is training the ability to induce this experience with full consciousness, and repeat the process whenever desired, maintaining awareness throughout all stages of the experience: from waking, to relaxation, to separation from the physical body, to all through the experience itself, to the return to the physical body and normal waking state, to remembering it in detail.

We may note that this experience is not a dream of any kind (though again, it can be arrived at from the dream state.) The projector is fully aware and awake and can decide, analyze, and interact freely in this non-physical dimension or Astral Plane, all while the physical body rests. In this way, you can be in two places at once, and you are every single night! (...or day if you are a nightshift worker! :-)

Again, Astral Projection itself is not an uncommon phenomenon (though conscious projectors aren't that common.) Nor is it something unique to mystics, occultists, or magicians (though I dare say those so inclined have often made a point of getting pretty good at it.) It is a skill attainable, and indeed practiced, by ordinary human beings from all walks of life. It cannot be confused with hallucinations (projectors soon learn to recognize and dismiss self-created hallucinations while projecting.) Such is the reality of the experience that no other sensible interpretation for it can be given by the one experiencing it than that of Astral Projection, i.e. projection away from the physical body in an astral body.

There are of course many many things one can do from this state, including (in short) being able to travel to any location in space and time, interact with other conscious projectors and other entities, access vast fields of knowledge and learning, explore strange new worlds and civilizations (much more interesting than those on Star Trek!) and lots lots more... we'll get to a longer list soon!

Astral Projection is often called an Out-of-Body Experience (or OOBE, or even just OBE), and generally these terms can be considered synonymous. However, for a few reasons, the latter term is not entirely satisfactory. First, though we are 'out' of our physical body, we usually find ourselves 'in' our astral body, which is often (though not always) experienced as an exact replica of the physical. Second, the term OOBE doesn't allow us to distinguish between Astral Projection and Etheric Projection, though admittedly the difference is quite subtle (pun intended.)

Etheric Projection is when you leave your body but are still in a vibrational state close to the Physical. You could say you are in the energetic physical world replica. It is similar to as if you were a 'ghost', nobody can see or touch you, but otherwise the world seems almost exactly the same. (Because of this, you can see other spirits on this plane, if you come across them.)

This is the Etheric Plane, and you can think of it as an overlap (or 'buffer zone') between the Physical and the Astral. If you had a coin with the Physical on one side and the Astral on the other, the edge would be the Etheric. It is more like a higher vibration version of the physical, similar to how ultraviolet light in invisible to physical eyesight. But the Etheric and Astral dimensions also blend one into the other, since all dimensions interpenetrate, and you can 'tune in' and 'tune out' of them by concentrating on doing so.

You won't find this distinction that often, but both the term OOBE and most OOBE accounts actually describe Etheric Projection rather than Astral Projection. By this I mean they often describe 'real-time' events in locations away from the physical body (often in the projector's bedroom), and are aware of perceiving the physical world as a spectator who can walk among physical events but not physically participate.

Thus you can most easily tell an Etheric Projection from whether it looks totally like the physical or not. You may also find it a little harder to move in the Etheric, but then again maybe not. In such a case you could say it is like swimming in mud compared to the Astral which is more like swimming in water. But this may actually depend on how much etheric matter, ie. vital energy, that you have at the time. Other times you may be too close to your physical body and 'feel' slow or semi-paralyzed because you are partially sensing its condition.

Other than that, once you've experienced both the Etheric and the Astral Planes you will be able to tell instantly from the difference in feeling. The Astral has another feeling to it, one that more resembles the feeling you have while dreaming. Certainly the landscape of the Astral is far more fluid and changeable, and the scenario may bear little resemblance to the physical world (contextually if not completely.)

The duration of an Etheric Projection may also be shorter as it is said to depend on the amount of etheric matter channelled to the Astral Body by the chakras. A person with naturally active chakra development will have little trouble; otherwise they may need to be developed by energetic training to achieve the same results.

But whether Astral or Etheric Projection, they are both something you can learn to 'do'. Typically, after deep relaxation and some form of concentration, your consciousness 'shifts' and all of a sudden you can get out of your body. You may notice that everything is 'not as it's supposed to be'. For example, doors may be in the seemingly 'wrong place', things may have different proportions, your house may look different in some way, animals may talk to you, you can fly... and so much more...

If you were wondering why anyone would want to learn to consciously project, (though the sheer novelty would be enough) my first answer would be the amazing effect of having your mind 'opened' for the first time. There is a definite sense of wonder and excitement at being able to do and experience things that were previously impossible! We'll talk more about the reasons to learn projection soon, but for now imagine: no limits...

William Ember is an self-trained explorer of Lucid Dreaming and Astral Projection experiences and has recently authored the most comprehensive and in-depth training guide to these experiences available anywhere. Well, I think there are four good reasons to practice astral projection. Let me first just say that I have experienced astral projection many times in my own life, so I do have some knowledge on the subject. I have also written a book on astral projection and taught many courses, and workshops on astral projection. One of the questions that I have been asked many times is "Why should I want to experience astral projection?" Yes, it is an interesting phenomenon, but what can it do for me?

The first reason to experience astral projection is to know that you are more than your physical body. Most people identify totally with their physical bodies and have no idea that their consciousness extends beyond their physical being. The majority of people in today's society are preoccupied with their physical bodies and their physical appearance. This is all well and good, but what happens when our bodies begin to fail us, or when we get old. Then what happens? Many people become depressed, despondent and think their lives are over. But this does not have to be the case. Once you have experienced astral projection, you know that your consciousness can exist apart from your physical body. During an out of body experience, you can see your body lying peacefully in your bed, while you are floating above it. This is important to know because than you are not so attached to your body. It is more like a home where you reside during waking consciousness. You gain a new awareness that the real you extends beyond bodily consciousness, so you are not so caught up in the illusions of the physical body. When you get older, it is your body that gets older, not you. When you have a cold or illness, it is your body that needs healing, not you. So you are more at peace with the many changes that may affect your physical being. Many things will still affect you, but they will not affect you so deeply because of the awareness that you are more than your physical body. So, this is the first reason to experience astral projection. That is, to know that your consciousness can transcend your physical body and that you are more than your body.

The second reason to experience astral projection is to learn more about the universe within you. There are inner dimensions to the universe that we are normally unaware of during our everyday consciousness. Many mystics, yogis, saints and astral travelers have experienced this inner dimension to the universe and have written about them. Old Testament prophets, like Ezekiel, or yogis, such as Parmahansa Yogananda, and saints, like St. John have written about their experiences on the inner planes. There are many wonders to experience there and many things to learn. For instance, I found the force of gravity does not work the same on the inner planes as it does on the physical plane. Gravity is intimately connected with your mind and your beliefs there. You can fly on the inner planes as long as you believe it. If you do not believe that you can fly, then you cannot. It is very interesting!

I remember one astral projection experience that I had on the astral plane: I was flying in a clear blue sky and I looked down to the ground far below me. I thought to myself "gee, it would really hurt if I fell from this high up." At that same instant, I started to fall towards the ground, faster and faster. I panicked for a few seconds and cried out. But then, I remembered that I could fly. As soon as I focused on the thought that I could fly, I stopped falling and began to fly again. I learned quickly that things on the inner planes respond to our thoughts and beliefs.

On the inner planes, you can learn more about yourself and the universe. You can also take advantage of your experiences and knowledge gained there to use on the physical plane. Many people do this without even realizing it. For example, Albert Einstein obtained his theory of relativity while in a dream state (which is connected with the inner planes). Many other people have found solutions to their problems through their dreams or in a relaxed state, where they have access their intuition and knowledge from the inner planes. So, by learning to astral project, one can learn more about oneself and the infinite universe, and use that knowledge to improve things on the physical plane.

The third reason to experience astral projection is to raise your consciousness. Once you astral project, it is easier to meditate and reach higher planes of consciousness. While on the astral plane, one is free of many of the hindrances that keep one from reaching higher states of consciousness. On the physical plane, there may be bodily discomfort, environmental noises and intrusions that can prevent you from reaching ecstatic states of awareness. On the astral plane, there are no physical obstacles to meditation, so one is freer to rise to higher levels of consciousness. Yram, Practical Astral Projection talks about how he was able to reach very high states of consciousness while astral projecting. He describes a state of consciousness where immense love and joy pervade one's entire being: "With the speed of lightning, the unity of harmony gives us the impression of melting in love...the immense onrush of universal love saturates the personality, and the individual knows that...whatever extreme sacrifices that it might accomplish or intense pain that one might endure, it would not come up to the same level as the millionth part of the qualities of this ocean of harmony"

I have also experienced high states of bliss while astral projecting. I have been able to use my experiences as a beacon in my normal meditations to help raise my consciousness on the physical plane. This inner joy helps keep me to stay more balanced and happy in my everyday life.

Last, but not least; the fourth reason to astral project is to diminish the fear of death. Most people that I know are afraid to die. They have no idea what may happen to them and fear the unknown. Astral projection can help to alleviate the fear of death because you know that your consciousness can exist apart from your physical body. The process of astral projection is very similar to the process of dying. The difference is that when you astral project, you leave your physical body temporarily; when you die, you leave your body permanently. But after you experience astral projection, you know for certain that your consciousness can exist apart from your body, so you are no longer afraid of dying. Of course, you may be apprehensive of where you will go, but it is more like the beginning of a new journey. Life does not end with death; it is a transformation and a new beginning.

Jill Lowy is the author of Yoga and the Art of Astral Projection, which can be seen at: http://www.TheAstralYoga.com

Total Astral Projection

By Russell Symonds

What is Astral Projection and What Are the Best Conditions for this Strange Experience?

Astral projection also known as the out-of-body experience and as "soul travel" by some groups, can happen to anyone at any time in one's life. Astral projection is often confused with lucid or vivid dreaming and most skeptics would say that what most people would experience as an out-of-body experience is just a dream. Even though it is quite common for an astral projection experience to be immediately proceeded by a vivid dream or even be mixed up with or embedded within dreams, when one has a full-blown out-of-body astral experience, it is often so real, so vivid and clear that in no way, shape or form is it considered by the experiencer as just being a dream. Genuine astral projection is experienced as a fully awakened state outside the body, and the person is able to actually see, usually from a strange angle, his or her usually still or lifeless looking body lying down on the bed, sofa or couch. One is able to see minute details in the room and travel anywhere else conceivable and watch events and discover new places and/or previously lost or undiscovered items that can later be confirmed.

Certain Tibetan masters and Indian yogi masters throughout history have developed the ability to fully conscious astral project at will and as a result of this awesome faculty, many other special powers too. A contemporary example is Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath who because I have met personally and directly experienced his amazing aura of energy (darshan), I may have seen a few times in the astral as there were some instances of this great yogi's presence appearing during my sleep and in deep meditation. Other such great masters of astral projection in the past include Paramhansa Yogananda, Sri Yukteswar, Rabindranath Tagore who came back speaking through the ectoplasm of direct voice medium, Leslie Flint (1960's?) regarding his experiences with astral travel and general information regarding power of thought, and the transmigrated Tibetan Lama, Tuesday Lobsang Rampa in the body of Cyril Henry Hoskin. Rampa provided the most outstanding descriptions and knowledge of astral projection, however he was also apparently the author of some of the most controversial books I ever read.

The Right Conditions for Astral Projection and How 100% Safe, Natural Astral Projection Can be Induced

The right conditions for conscious astral projection are tricky to master. To start with it is very helpful to learn meditation and train the body to increase concentration on the inner self (third eye) and withdrawing away from the external senses, while calming down one's breathing and slowing down heart rate toward 40 beats per minute. Celibacy is quite essential, otherwise it can be very hard trying to maintain the constant enthusiasm and concentration required for the successful completion of this project which involves the process of slowing metabolic rate and fully replacing all physical activity, physical thought, awareness, and consciousness with internal spiritual awareness to the point that the physical becomes quite numb, cold, still and lifeless. Only then in such a deep state of trance does it become possible to consciously leave the body at will. Such an attainment of this nature is quite profound, vital and priceless, because such an ability leads to a complete mastery over the very powers of life, death and reincarnation. It is extremely unfortunate that during this present age, that the overall tendency of humankind is too much external, way too much sensuality, and too much into the physical world and physical senses. It is this overall tendency or tendencies that are causing so much pain, so much skepticism against spiritual truths, confusion and suffering in the world. This grave concern is the main reason why I am taking so much of my time to create this website.

Spontaneous astral projection during deep sleep is much more common and more accessible by some. The odds of astral travel occurring during deep sleep can be improved by some form of vigorous physical exercise near end of day so that muscles are no longer restless and are therefore more prone to relaxation. In early evening after a light dinner (or sometimes even a fast depending on individual need) one should practice a little yoga and do some meditation before sleeping. Start actual night time period of rest or sleep with a deep relaxation posture while concentrating on every muscle in body to completely relax, withdrawing energy from each and every muscle to all the spinal centers and then up to third eye. Try to remain wide-awake while body falls asleep. If this does not work, (usually takes several weeks of practice) set alarm at 3:00 or 4:00 AM, get up and exercise for 15 minutes at that time and then follow the same deep relaxation routine leading to a wide-awake yet fully asleep effect. What should happen is a deep internalization of awareness along with a state of temporary paralysis (catalepsy) and a terrific vibration and/or intense tingling sensation that can seem way too intense to stand. In this vibrational state, it becomes possible to split away from the body and further away one gets the less vibration one feels until one is several feet away and some can observe a silver cord between the physical and astral or etheric self. It becomes possible then to move about the room by concentration on where one wants to go. It takes much practice at first to learn how to control the astral body which is much like the life of a newborn child which has yet to learn how to walk and run, etc.

There is absolutely no danger or ever any real reason to fear astral projection or even death for that matter. If one has to die then death involves simply taking up a much more permanent residence at one's true home in one of the astral spheres. Fear during the first few attempts at astral travel is a huge problem and will often find one's self slammed right back into the physical body under the slightest provocation of fear and/or even thinking of the physical. Death can never be caused by astral projection, however the process of dying is often the greatest opportunity ever for astral projection! There are countless worlds in the afterlife that are filled with vast wonders and opportunities of all kinds. For those who are good natured, kind hearted and full of love (most people are) the afterlife is simply wonderful and filled with unspeakable beauty, great love, awesome bliss, great music and great adventures.

As long as no illicit drugs are involved, astral projection is a 100% natural, 100% safe and 100% blissful occurrence. Astral projection is an expression of the conscious freedom of the soul while the physical body is in a temporarily state of suspended animation and slowed down or "hibernating" metabolism. The more often one can induce this temporary "death" of the physical, the sooner one becomes an adept or master over the otherwise terrible whims of life and death.

The Various Forms of Astral Projection: From Traveling Clairvoyance to Complete Immersion on Astral Plane

There are various forms of astral projection. The simplest is remote viewing, which really is a form of traveling clairvoyance as a fragment of one's self senses events and scenes from a remote location while the remote viewer sits in a darkened room in a light state of trance. While meditating in my darkened apartment one morning, I could actually see within my mind's eye (or third eye?) a clear image of some contractors working on the roof of a small house. It had a chimney and it appeared like there were up to seven contractors working on the construction of a new roof. At first I assumed I must have been picking up a scene from the astral plane (happens to me sometimes) of astral workers creating an astral building (does happen on some of the astral worlds). It was not until after I stopped meditating, and while on the way to get my mail, I happened to notice a small house going up right next to my apartment complex with the same contractors working on the same roof with chimney, etc! It is experiences like these that prove to me beyond a shadow of a doubt about their reality. Experiences of remote viewing, though rare and hard to repeat, are real as day.

A deeper form of remote viewing occurs when the soul is aware in two places at once, behind the physical eyes and from within the astral viewpoint. This effect does happen and illustrates the fact that as long as the physical body remains alive, the soul stays behind with the body while its etheric double goes around and about which the soul also keeps in touch with. Another form of astral travel is actually the out-of-body experience where one is aware mainly of the etheric counterpart of the earth plane and can perceive, even sometimes feel (but not actually touch or pick up except under very rare conditions) all the things most closely associated with Earth. Actual astral projection is travel in the higher spheres above the earth plane where one is in the astral counterpart (or duplicate) of one's physical body and can meet friends and loved ones who either have passed over or are also asleep, dreaming and/or astral traveling!

There have been some documented cases where one has actually seen while wide awake physically someone else's etheric double (or doppelganger) standing in the same room often to say "goodbye" to a loved one if while in grave danger and/or dying or simply while astral projecting. In the book, Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda there are several instances of yogis traveling in their astral bodies either while still physically living or even after their deaths who were able to fully appear in a solid form in front of various witnesses. For example read The Resurrection of Sri Yukteswar and wonder about that. Paramhansa Yogananda never had any personal reason(s) or inclinations to ever lie or deceive others.

I personally had someone come visit me in the astral while I was in a deep relaxation trance in my early twenties. This person's energy was so intense it pulled me out of my body through my heart center! Then when I saw this guy sitting with his normal clothes on in a meditation posture right in front of me, I had no idea whatsoever that he was there because he had just died! The entire experience can be found on my free e-book The Science of Wholeness, "Lesson 14" at paragraph 14.7: Death, Enlightenment, Bliss and Resurrection. I know for sure these things are real, and when one has a paranormal experience, there is no denying it whatsoever, it happened!

The wise yogi learns how to calm his breath, slow down his heartbeat and withdraw his physical energy deep into the spinal centers and then ultimately deep into the third eye where he can "die daily" with full ability to leave his body at will just as one can leave one's vehicle by simply opening the door and walking out of it. The late Indian poet and master of yoga, Rabindranath Tagore who came back speaking through the ectoplasm of direct voice medium, Leslie Flint very clearly explains his life-long interest in astral projection and how he mastered it and the unspeakable beauty of the higher spheres that he now lives on. Unless one has (perhaps in a past life) previously learned it, astral projection is never something one can simply learn overnight and then do for recreation or entertainment. It is rather a serious undertaking requiring total commitment. Astral projection is a spiritual enrichment practice and not something one should do only for materialistic, sensual, selfish or mundane reasons, as such low levels of intention and/or consciousness would be unwise and make it much harder to achieve any worthwhile results.

Please go to my complete website on astral projection!

Russell Symonds (Shaktivirya) has dedicated his life to finding wholeness and is living the "wholeness" lifestyle. His website, Science of Wholeness is a spiritual and nutritional information and research center dedicated to helping you find your keys to wholeness (everlasting joy, love, bliss, rejuvenation, and much, much more). Wholeness can be many things and his website not only duscusses all the different aspects of wholeness but also all the different ways toward wholeness. There is no greater thing of beauty, value and joy as wholeness!

The rest of his original articles and his free online book, Science of Wholeness I & II can be found here ==> Science of Wholeness Site Map

The steps for Lucid Dreams

By Mike Northstar

If you are reading this article then you’re interested in the concept of lucid dreaming. I have been interested for a number of years. The concept of being able to control dreams, to have a lucid dream has always intrigued me.

I can still remember my very first experience with lucid dreams when I was a child. I dreamt that I was falling and I thought to myself that I was going to die. Then I simply decided to change the hard ground into a lake of water. I had just taken control of my first dream. At the time I did not know that this was called lucid dreaming, it was just fascinating to me that I was able to change my dream while I was dreaming.

It was not until years later that I became aware in the concept of lucid dreaming. As I have grown older I’ve become increasingly interested in the metaphysical aspects of life. One area in particular that interests me is dreaming. Personally, I believe that when we dream we are touching a much deeper part of us, a much wiser part. I thought to myself, if this is true, wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to actively interact with the dream. This way I could receive much more information.

The question was, “How to Lucid Dream?” How could I create a lucid dream whenever I wanted? As I began to do research on the topic I read a number of books on the subject written by scientific researchers. These scientists broke the process of creating lucid dreams into three steps.

For the first step you had to begin to dream. What I found through my reading was that the best way to create dreams on demand was through the use of sound. More specifically, sounds that tap out a rhythm or a beat pattern that allows the two halves of the brain to synchronize.

I began to use these binaural beats (that’s the scientific name) as I was going to sleep. I quickly noticed that I was recalling more and more of my dreams. At the same time, my dreams were becoming much more detailed and vivid.

Second, create a dream journal. Each morning I would write down as much as I could recall about each dream.

The reason for the dream journal is to condition your mind to remember the dreams. To give a message to your mind that dreams are now important and that you want to recall them.

By using the sound to enhance the quality and quantity of my dreams along with the dream journal got me to the point that I was dreaming up to five separate dreams each night. I was not quite to the point of lucid dreaming but I was close.

The final step to creating a lucid dream was to train my mind to take control of the dreams. To do this I created a simple script based on the research that I used before going to sleep each night. I wrote down this simple statement, “Tonight when I am dreaming I will hear myself say the word gelbelong. When I hear the word gelbelong I will know that I am dreaming and I will take control of my dream.”

Every night just before I go to sleep I would read this statement to myself fifteen times. This conditioned my subconscious mind to say the word “gelbelong” during the dream and for my mind to then know that I was having a lucid dream.

The word “gelbelong” is a word I created. You want the word or phrase to be something that you would never hear in waking life so that there can be no confusion as to whether or not you are dreaming.

Adding this phrase gave me the last piece for creating all of the lucid dreams I want. Now I explore an completely new world whenever I sleep.

I have to admit that I look forward to going to sleep now. It is like I am taking a holiday each and every time I sleep. And more to my interests, I have learned some amazing things about myself.

So if you want to begin to have lucid dreams, just follow the three steps I’ve discussed.

First, use a binaural beat program to begin to create more dreams.

Second, keep a dream journal and write down your dreams.

Last, create your own key word and begin to enjoy the wonderful world of the lucid dream.

Mike Northstar
I enjoy talking with people who lucid dream and I am always looking for ways to enhance my lucid dreams experiences.

Out of Body Experience Techniquest

Part 1 of 3

Part 2 of 3

Part 3 of 3

Virtual out-of-body experience

A group of neuroscientists have induced out-of-body experiences for the first time, using virtual reality and an experimental set-up. The term out of body experience is often used interchangeably with astral projection, but the two phenomena, while similar, are not synonymous at all. Astral projection, by contrast, is the idea that a person has an astral body, usually connected to the physical body by a silver cord, that can travel freely in the astral world. The astral world is a subtle replica of the physical world but may contain elements that have no counterparts in the physical world. Unlike an OBE, an astral projection does not require one's consciousness to travel through the physical world and being able to perceive physical reality from outside the body.

Out of body experiences can be terrifying, especially while one experiences it for the first time. The sensation of separating from the physical body may make a person feel as if his or her soul is leaving the body (i.e, dying). To experienced practitioners, on the other hand, OBE can be an exhilarating adventure, allowing them to fly and walk through walls with their sense perceptions largely intact . Owing to its remarkable intensity and vividness, out-of-body experiences can be spiritually transforming, affirming the existing of the soul and the afterlife.

A common trait of most OBEs is that the person experiencing the phenomenon seems to perceive the world from a location outside his or her physical body. Nonetheless, no two out of body experiences are identical. According to the English psychologist Susan Blackmore, no out of body experience definition is perfect because OBE is subjective.

Out of body experiences are quite common. Many are spontaneous. A patient undergoing a surgery might see his own body being operated on during the operation. An OBE experienced by a person who is close to death is known as a near death experience, NDE, a phonomenon that is perhaps better known among the general public and one with more religious significance. Some people may experience an OBE while falling asleep.

Out-of-body experiences also can be induced by mental exercises. There are many techniques to induce OBE. Many of the techniques rely on relaxation, imagery, and concentration. The ideal state seems to be one of physical relaxation accompanied by mental alertness.

Relaxation often leads to a state of paralysis. When one falls asleep, the brain shuts down his ability to move his limbs, so that he does not physically respond to images in his dreams. An OBE can be induced by maintaining mental alertness as one enters sleep paralysis, that is, by prolonging the intermediary state between wakefulness and sleep. This transition state is often characterized by vibratory sounds and sensations. By mentally prolonging the "vibrations", the transition state may be used as a launch pad for an out-of-body experience or lucid dream.

Some people view OBE as affirmation for a "non-physical" identity that can exist independently of a physical body and perhaps survive bodily death. However, while perceptions during an OBE are often lucid and coherent as if they they take place in a stable, physical world, they do not seem to be veridical, that is, they do not conform to one's actual physical reality. There are many cases where the experiences go far beyond anything that can be observed in the physical world. To the exent that nothing actually leaves the body, an OBE is not necessarily a paranormal phenomenon or one that necessarily carries much religious significance. This, however, should not necessarily diminish one's fascination with and pursuit of the experience.

Oudam Em is the webmaster of Out of Body Experience blog, a site that publishes articles, news, information on out of body experiences, astral projection and related phenomena.

An author's description of his OBE

An author's description of the out-of-body experiences that led him to write his first book.

Improve Your Astral Projections!

By Tim Todd

Let us explore some of the common myths regarding Astral Projection and how with a modern day perspective we can overcome some of the misconceptions of how it works and what it means to "travel outside of your body".

We will learn how our perception and interpretation can limit our success in experiencing this phenomenon that is as old as ancient man. Learn also how with this new perspective, along with conquering our fears, we will discover the main ingredient we will need for traveling without boundaries!

Improve your Astral Projections!

How many cultures of mankind have stories regarding some kind of astral travel? Whether, it is some kind of vision quest like the Native Americans, or some sort of trance like state utilized by the likes of Nostradamus or Rasputin. Over the millennia we as a species have been exposed to the idea of traveling beyond where our physical body can take us. Over time this concept and the perception of its application has been interpreted and reinterpreted again and again throughout our civilization.

What about the many misconceptions regarding astral travel? Many people are exposed to the concept of our energy body leaving our physical body and traveling through out time and space. We often visualize or report seeing a silver chord connecting our energy body to our physical one. Often time's people will report an experience where they were starting to leave their body only to have an uncontrollable feeling of fear well up inside of them usually ending with them being snapped back into their body.

The questions that arise are very interesting. First of all why is it that we perceive our energy body as looking like our own? If it was really our soul or energy body why would it have to resemble our physical body? Perhaps it is the best image our brains can relate to, therefore enabling us to interpret the situation. The other question is why do people feel they will leave there body and not be able to find there way back? This is also associated with the concept that if their chord is disconnected from their body they will die because the body can't live without the soul.

Keeping these questions in mind we must realize that man has been experiencing astral travel for millennia. The reality is that mankind's intelligence an understanding of the world around him has changed dramatically again and again over the centuries. How we once would have interpreted a phenomenon like astral travel may not be the most intelligent way to interpret and dissect it today.

There are concepts today that didn't exist one hundred years ago much less thousands. Take a probe for example. A probe will fly into space take pictures of things thousands of miles away and relay the information back to us giving us data that we could never attain by physical means. Instead of thinking of your soul as leaving your body, let's imagine that what is really traveling is something that is of the same frequency of your soul, and is acting more like a probe. It is traveling through time and space, collecting data and within an instant, faster than the speed of light it is relaying that information back to you.

If this is the case than there would be no need to imagine a chord attaching your probe to your physical body, neither would we need to have the fear of either being trapped out of our body or never finding our way back. With this new perception we can see how the fear of death is almost completely eliminated.

Another common fear is that if something happens to your astral body than you will be harmed in the physical one. Again when a probe is destroyed out in space it simply stops sending back data, it doesn't affect the planet it is being sent from.

Let us look now at energy. Let us assume for a moment that when our energy is used to create a probe, and then that energy is projected, we are in fact receiving data so fast and so vivid that it in feels as if we have literally left our body. When the connection is cut it simply ends the transmission. Let's picture that our body's electrical field and aura, are holding our soul within our physical body, and that the soul cannot really leave the body unless the electrical field of our body stops working due to death.

With this in mind it is much more believable that it is not our soul in its entire form that leaves the body but merely a part of it, or more specifically a frequency of it. This energy is what creates the probe that can travel across time and space. So logically we can conclude that cutting the connection between the probe and ourselves does not harm us in any way but simply ends the data being transmitted.

The most important realization of this perspective is that most of the time when people are snapped back into there body during a projection, or suddenly fall short of a successful projection it is because of fear. Again, fear of not finding there way back to their body, fear of being harmed physically because of their soul being harmed, or fear that the body cannot live without the soul. As the old saying says "Fear is the mind killer". With the concept that astral projection is simply an energy probe scanning the depths of time and space, and not our soul leaving our body, we can see how fear is what's really limiting ourselves from true Astral Travel.

Higher Balance Institute is the world leader in advanced programs for spiritual growth and development of the psychic sense. He stopped swimming…even though the shore was just a mile away! Unfortunately, he didn’t know how close he was!

Most people quit too soon because they don’t see immediate results. But if you know what signposts to expect along the way, you will know that you are right on track.

Hmm…so you have read scores of Astral Projection techniques, tried some of them and still haven’t experienced a conscious Projection? Don’t quit too soon. You may be close…very close!

Below, I have listed some common pre-Astral Projection sensations. The more knowledgeable and prepared you are about the initial sensations associated with out-of-body exploration, the more success you are likely to achieve.

1. Vibrations

Vibrations are probably the most common of all pre-Projection sensations, and you should be fully prepared for it.

You might feel as if a part, or all of your body begins to "vibrate". These vibrations normally start slow and gradually intensify. If you experience this for the first time, you might get startled and feel that your entire body is being electrocuted from head to toe! Although the vibrations can be very intense, they are not physical vibrations because nothing physically vibrates.

Vibrations are a sure-shot indication that you are very close to a successful Astral Projection..

2. Sleep Paralysis / Catalepsy

Sleep Paralysis or Catalepsy is another very common symptom that you might experience during your Astral projection practice.

Sleep Paralysis is a state when you may suddenly find yourself unable to move or speak.
Your physical body will feel so completely "paralyzed" that you simply cannot seem to budge any part of your body at all.

If you don't know what's going on, it can be quite scary. But do not be alarmed when this occurs because this condition is perfectly safe. Astral Paralysis means you are very close to the actual exit.

3. Buzzing And Other Sounds

Most common sounds that you can hear are buzzing; whooshing, rushing, roaring, explosions or bird squawking, a chime being struck, knocking, thumping, voices of people conversing with each other, gunshot, loud bell.

Out of all these, buzzing seems to be a very common pre-Astral Projection symptom and can intensify so much that you feel there are hundred helicopters in your ears!

These sounds are temporary and subside once the separation process is complete.

Recognition of such sounds is an important step because they prove to you that you are on track.

4. Visual Hallucinations

While practicing, you may also see geometric patterns, pulsating colors and lights, specific scenes, visions of paradise or hell or anything imaginable.

5. Rapid Heart Rate

Rapid heartbeat is a very common pre-Projection symptom.

The exact reason for this is unknown. But probably the racing-heart phenomenon is because of the opening up of the heart Chakra. Or maybe it is a side effect of fear or excitement. Either case, you need to remain passive and calm.

6. Breathing Changes

This is an apparent shortness of breath. You need to keep cool and the feeling would soon subside.

7. Movement Sensations

You may experience sensations of dizziness, vertigo, falling or flying up at great speeds, rocking or even swaying. These occur because it is the start of the Astral Projection sequence as the Astral body starts to separate from the physical. A very positive symptom proving that your Astral body has “loosened” from the physical confines!

8. Weight Changes

Changes in feeling of weight can occur.

You may suddenly feel that your body has become very heavy. Or you may feel very light, as if you are weightless.

9. Proportion Changes

You may also feel that your body is changing in proportion. You might have the sensation that you are growing or shrinking in size.

10. Temperature Changes

This is again a very common phenomenon. Your body temperature might drop and you will feel a cool breeze blowing over you.

Conclusion

People are different. Therefore, the sensations you experience will be based on your personality and individuality. The intensity of some of these sensations will vary from person to person.
Each Projection attempt may yield different sensations, in a different sequence.

These were some of the sensations you might come across. There are many more. Just be aware of them so that next time you experience something similar, you know you are on the right track!

Copyright Abhishek Agarwal. Why Waking Sleep Paralysis is the "Lucid Dream Holy Grail"

By Nick Newport

If you're new to out of body experiences and lucid dreams and you're wondering where to get started, here it is. In this article you're about to find out why sleep paralysis is the holy grail for new OBEers because it's how you can access your subconscious without having to practice using any visualizations at all.

If you've ever woken up in the morning and found that you couldn't move or make a sound for a few minutes, you've had sleep paralysis. This used to happen to me and I had no idea why or what it was. But as it turns out, this was the trick that opened the door to frequent OBEs for me after having insomnia for years.

It's A Protection Mechanism

The question is "what is sleep paralysis and how can you use it?" It's a protection mechanism your body uses when you fall asleep. If you were to dream you're doing something very active, such as running, and you weren't paralyzed then you would move your limbs when you're asleep and you'd wake yourself up. To prevent that from happening, your body disconnects your voluntary muscle system from your mind so that you can dream all you like without waking yourself up.

Usually Your Mind Falls Asleep, Then Your Body

Normally you're not aware that of this happening because by the time your body shuts itself down in paralysis, your mind is already asleep and unaware of what's happening. In other words you enter a state of 'body awake/mind asleep' before entering 'body asleep, mind asleep'.

Sleep Paralysis Is Actually A Lucky Break

The whole trick to lucid dreaming is to enter a subconscious focus without losing awareness. Here's how sleep paralysis does this for you.

It Automatically Puts You In A Subconscious Focus

When you're awake your brain is in what's called a 'beta' state. Beta means your dominant electrical brain waves are oscillating at around 14 to 30 cycles per second. When you enter sleep paralysis, your brain automatically puts itself in "dream mode" which is called a 'theta' state. Theta is slower than beta and is around 4 to 7 cycles per second. Knowing this secret allows you to avoid one of the major mistakes most people make when first starting out in OBEs. Major Mistake! Most Books Say To Do Obes In One Step Most books on OBEs say to simply induce an OBE in what is basically a one step process. Going directly from a waking state to an OBE is possible but it's difficult so this is not what I recommend you start out with.

Two Transitions To Success, Not Just One!

Instead, you'll progress much faster by making it a two step process. You first use the sleep commands we'll cover later to trick your body into falling asleep and enter sleep paralysis. You then use exit techniques we'll cover later to convert paralysis into an OBE and separate from your physical body.

How Most People Discover Sleep Paralysis: By Waking Up In It!

Now, how do you do that? The way you'll usually become aware of sleep paralysis is that you wake up in it and find you can't move or make a sound. Paralysis often feels like there's a heavy lead blanket on you. It's not that there is really anything on you or that your muscles have become weaker. The feeling is because your brain has to send a stronger nerve signal than normal to get the same muscle movement. That makes it feel like you're having to overcome some kind of resistance when you try to move. This feeling also usually makes it feel like it's harder to breathe but it's actually a natural sleep process. It happens every single time you fall asleep.

But... Isn't That Dangerous?

You may be wondering if sleep paralysis is dangerous and if there's a way to break free. Sleep paralysis is not dangerous because it's something your body does every night. Plus, here is a secret "safety release" trick you can use to free yourself from paralysis so you always have a backup plan.

How To Break Sleep Paralysis 100% Of The Time: Use Deep Breathing To Contrast Sleep Breathing

The only way your body knows for sure if your mind is awake is if you move. This is a problem when you're in 100% sleep paralysis which is preventing you from moving. Luckily paralysis is limited to your voluntary muscle system like your arms and legs. Your breathing is semi-involuntary so you still have control over it even in deep paralysis. If you enter sleep paralysis and decide you want break free and wake up, simply change your breathing pattern to something other than the sleep breathing pattern your body is in. The most effective way I have found to do this is to begin breathing deeply and slowly. After 10 or 15 seconds your body will notice the change and bring you out of paralysis. Not many things are 100% reliable in lucid dreaming but this has worked for me every single time.

Sleep Apnea

A very few people have reported that they woke up in sleep paralysis and noticed that they weren't breathing at all. The problem is not the paralysis itself, but that they had an existing health condition called 'sleep apnea'. Sleep apnea basically means that you stop breathing when you're asleep. So this is one of the side benefits of using sleep paralysis to have OBEs: you'll find out whether or not you have sleep apnea. Keep in mind there's a big difference between the normal "heavy lead blanket" feeling that comes with sleep paralysis versus not breathing at all. If you find you stop breathing entirely then you may have sleep apnea and should see a doctor about it. If you only feel the heaviness sensation then everything is normal.

"Accidental" Versus "Deliberate" Sleep Paralysis

So far we've talked about the case where you somehow manage to wake up in sleep paralysis. However that's basically an uncontrolled and accidental process. The question is what can you do to make it happen more consistently?

Toward Consistency: What If The Body Falls Asleep First?

The idea is to flip the sleep order around so that instead of entering "body awake, mind asleep", you enter of "mind awake, body asleep". When this happens you're actually aware of the process your body goes through when it falls asleep. This is our main secret trick for doing visualization-free lucid dreams and O.B.E.s. This transition is the most important skill to learn in this part of the course.

Why? Because when you can put your body to sleep without losing consciousness at any point, you have 100% perfectly clear dream recall. This is called a "wake induced lucid dream" or WILD. It's as easy to remember what you did in a WILD as it is to remember the last 15 minutes or so of normal waking awareness. With this method, you don't have to think back through and hazy dream phase like you normally do with most dreams.

If You Actually Succeed...What Does It Feel Like?

So what does it feel like to actually watch your body falling asleep? Instead of waking up in sleep paralysis and with the heavy lead blanket feeling, when you induce paralysis consciously you actually have the sensation of the heavy lead blanket being laid on your chest. It often feels like it begins at your feet, comes up over your chest and ends at your head. When that process is complete you're in sleep paralysis. So how to get this process to happen consistently? Here is the key. And this one fact is so important and so critical that I'm giving it a big fancy name. It's called the "Fundamental Theorem of Sleep Paralysis".

The Fundamental Theorem Of Sleep Paralysis

The Fundamental Theorem of Sleep Paralysis is that if you wake up and fall asleep without moving at all, sleep paralysis becomes extremely likely.

Sleep Paralysis Is Most Likely When The Body Was Recently Asleep

And when I say, without moving I mean you wake up and don't move your eyes, don't open your eyes, don't scratch any itches, you don't move at all in any way. The idea is that your body doesn't really know for sure if your mind is actually awake or not. If you don't give it any signals otherwise, it will assume that the mind really is still asleep and re-paralyze itself.

The Next Step: The "Stop, Drop & Roll" Sleep Commands

The foundation skill you need to develop this knowledge into a full-blown induction is to fall asleep quickly. So in the next section I'll show you how you can make your body first ask for permission to asleep and then I'll show you how you can tell it "yes it's time to fall asleep". This trick is called the "stop drop and roll" sleep command and once you have it you'll never have a problem with insomnia again and you'll dramatically accelerate your OBE progress.

In the next section we'll cover 5 more powerful sleep commands you can use to trick your body to fall asleep while you keep your mind awake to have O.B.E.s.

Want to lucid dream tonight? My soul actually leaves my body. I travel around the house, or have trips up into the universe. Some I remember well and others I do not.
I have had them since I was a child, some have been good, while others awful. Most of the real bad ones happened while I was a teenager and young adult. I have been paralyzed and tried to yell or scream, but of course no one could hear me. On some of them when I returned to the body, I was able to open my eyes, but not able to move anything else.

I have no control over them, usually it happens at night when I am half-awake, half-asleep. I go into a deep natural meditation. I can feel my body pulling apart, it sort of feels like a magnet. Sometimes it feels like my soul is coming from my solar plexus (stomach) and rolls up and out through the top of my head. It seems like these are the ones that last the longest and are the hardest to get control over.

It has made me lose sleep a lot of nights, from continually having OBE's all night long. As soon as I get real relaxed, I'll slip out of my body; I'll force myself to wake up and then it will happen over and over through out the night. On nights like this, I try to stay awake. I don't want to go back to sleep and experience the OBE's again.

Sometimes I'll have no control and I'll bounce up and down, from the floor to the ceiling all the way through the house. This sensation doesn't happen often. I lose total control of being able to control where I go, or how long I do the bouncing. It is just like a rubber ball when you throw it hard on the floor and it bounces from the ceiling to the floor several times. That is what the experience is like. It's very unpleasant.

Most of the time I head toward the ceiling, floating right under it, out of my bedroom door, down the hall, through the closet door and up and out into the universe. I can not feel any material when I go out the door. It's like floating through air with nothing being in the way. I travel at a very fast pace once I start to go up into the universe, so fast, there is no explanation on earth for it, except faster than the speed of light. When I get into the universe, I'll find myself sitting on a planet or floating through the sky very slowly. It's a very pleasant experience.

I have had many experiences doing this. One time I was floating on my stomach in the pure darkness, (but you can still see). Looking forward I seen a huge angel wearing lavender and white floating toward me. We met and held hands and she talked to me telepathically. I wish I remembered what she said, but I don't. I just remember a calm and peace go all the way through my very being that stayed with me after I awoke.

Another time I went and just sat on a planet and gazed out at the universe. It was like I knew everything at the time and all was beautiful. There were no secrets and I understood all. The universe was just like a painting where I could look and see anything I wanted to see and have the knowledge of what I was looking at. I remember having the feelings of having this knowledge and remember what it feels like. But unfortunately, I have no rememberance of the knowledge itself. Maybe, I'm not meant to know such things. Maybe none of us are suppose to know such things until it is our time to pass over.

I have had other out of body experiences where I just go around the house visiting family, if they're awake and I know what time it is, I can tell them what they were doing at that time. Like, if they're watching T.V. what they are watching. If they're eating what they're eating, etc...

I have had other experiences where I met up with the dark side and they are very disturbing. I have struggled with fighting evil all night. They're very dark entities. Some have actually grabbed me and pushed me into the walls, while I'm trying to get away I call out to God and am back in my body and awake in the blink of an eye.

These experiences are very stressful. I have seen black figures, black orbs and figures that are just plain dark. So, I know there is a dark side out there, as well as a light side.
I also know that the light side is stronger than the dark side and in my occasions they have been to save me when I was in a bad situation and make me wake up or come to help me out of the dark places.

The world is good and evil. You must be careful what you study. I believe in praying for protection to the Higher Power that you believe in (for me it is God). I believe you need to pray for protection when you go to bed, or you leave yourself opened for all kind of entities who are attracted to your light which you give off. Protect yourself, however your beliefs allow you to do and do it nightly, or whenever you feel in danger.

Lately, I have gotten my OBE's under more control and have not had as many bad experiences, but it is after many years of praying and trying to control them. I do a lot more protective measures now then what I use to. I cleanse my room with sage and holy water. Leave regular water out in the sun for three days, pray over it and ask God to bless it and use it for Holy Water. Ask for whoever is not from the light to be detached from you and imagine a pair of scissors actually cutting away dark strings attached to your body.

In my best one, I actually met and walked with Jesus. In this walk, his face turned into many faces, one after another. What I understood this to mean is that He is all of us and we are all a part of Him. This is one of my favorite OBE's ever. I had one where I met the apostles David and John, just asking where I could find Jesus. These are very meaningful to me and I always wake up feeling so good after I have one.

I know a lot of people study to learn how to do this, but they may not realize exactly what they're getting into. Just be careful and make sure you know what you are actually getting yourself into. This is not a game to be taking lightly. They actually happen and if you don't know what you're doing you can get yourself into a dark place where you see or have things happen to you that you wish you never knew about. I know you hear a lot of stories about people doing it for the first time and how much freedom and happiness they felt and even fun. But they are not all like that. Know what you're getting yourself into and proceed with caution.

Tracey Wilson is an author on http://www.Writing.Com/ which is a site for Creative Writers. They're a good thousand feet away. I can clearly make out their uniforms and swinging nightsticks. How can I be seeing this?

I didn't dare mention it to my fellow underage drinking mates lounging with me on the grassy knoll in the park. Am I making this up? Projecting it somehow into my vision? Forcefully, I shook my head back and forth in an effort to free my mind of its strange perception.

But the view of the two police officers remained in my sight, as they sauntered closer and closer to our drinking den. In fact, to my further astonishment, I saw a much wider perspective as I swiveled my gaze within the picture before me. I can see myself!

Frantically blinking my eyes open and shut trying to erase this impossibility, I still found myself staring at my own physical body on the ground next to my beer buddies. The place from which I was viewing was about forty feet in the air! As I shifted my attention to look at the looker, I saw an airborne body in the form of a luminous shimmer, much like a ghost is portrayed in a movie. Then, with the ease of a mere thought, I discovered I could shift my point of view from my physical body on the ground back to my ethereal light body in the air. Using my eyes in my subtle body, I surveyed the scene again from my perch in the air.

Am I making all this up? Do I want to impress my pals so much, I'm concocting an extrasensory perception to allow me to warn them of an oncoming bust? My frenetic self-questioning came to an abrupt halt as I heard one of the officers whisper to his colleague, "Do you hear that noise? There are some kids in the park."

Whether I was conjuring my supernormal sight and hearing to court favor with my friends or not, I needed to act-and quickly. "Hey, guys, don't ask me how I know, but there are some cops right up the street and they're on to us. Let's split." My three inebriated friends and I quietly sneaked down the hill and out of the park under the helpful cloak of darkness. By a nanosecond, we successfully evaded detection as we heard the policemen slashing at the bushes with their billyclubs right behind us A close call!

"Hey, how'd ya know the fuzz was there?" my buddy pressed me as we arrived safely back at our car.

"Uh, I just knew somehow. A guess, I guess," I muttered, covering for myself as best I could under the circumstances.

"Well, a pretty good one, man. We'd be up the creek if they caught us. Thanks. You're all right. We should have you around every time we go drinking."

Ah, music to my ears. And so my young career as a drinking guard began!

My friends, at sixteen, were older than I but still under the legal drinking age of eighteen in New York State. I was fifteen and considered myself really lucky to be included in this older gang at a time of life when acceptance and belonging was paramount. And to have access to liquor through their connections was heaven for me.

I would do almost anything to please these guys and stay tight with them. I mused to myself, My newfound super-vision is coming in real handy. If we got busted for underage drinking, we'd all get grounded by our parents, not to mention getting in trouble with the law. I've got to keep this good thing going!

On that fateful night, my need for approval prompted me to keep expanding this burgeoning, new skill that I stumbled across in the line of necessity and opportunity.

As I played with my prowess as a night watchman for the gang, I realized I was doing more than clairvoyance, "clear seeing." Each time I playfully sent myself out to scan the scene for police, I was having a bona fide out-of-body experience. I didn't have a name for it then, but I sure knew I was doing it! I was right on the mark every time I called a cop alert. My skill was valued by the friends I valued. Literally, I was flying high!

Since my teenage discovery, I've continued to explore out-of-body adventures. And I always laugh in admiration when I look back on how God tricked me into developing my first natural spiritual ability.

(c) 2004, Keith Varnum. Looking down at them briefly, he felt both a part of them and as if he was a detached onlooker. This phenomenon had begun during a serious childhood illness and continued to occur in the present day. He became aware of the same conditions that had accompanied it in the past. The darkness was suffused with a vibrant blue aura as he hovered slightly above the floor.
The sense of well being and energy that permeated him was in no way related to the physical state of existence. Although he presently appeared to have a tangible body, this was probably a superfluous effect, as his thoughts were free and completely removed from bodily considerations. He experienced a profound lucidity that belied the possibility that this was a dream... Any further observations came to an abrupt halt, as just then, the doorbell rang.

He fleetingly acknowledged that this was unlikely in the early hours but he could not prevent his own immediate movement towards the head of the stairs. In passing, he noticed that his feet were not actually touching the steps as he descended the staircase and made to unlock the front door. It was far too late to heed the inner voice that startled him with its urgent imperative not to open the door.

Conclusions surfaced during the seconds that it had taken for him to commit to this inadvisable action.

The door that he was opening did not relate to this house but was instead one step removed from material reality. His instant reaction had left no pause between thought and deed and the fact that he'd taken his normal route through the house was attributable to habit rather than necessity.

Dread filled him as he swung the door back and absorbed the nightmare scene facing him. He retreated while realizing that he was not seeing the true face of the threat but, instead, a representation based upon his own expectations. Nevertheless, the danger was real and he had invited it into his home.

His mind raced as he decided that he must protect the souls in the bedroom above. He urgently backtracked up the stairs while facing the mélange of creatures that poured through the doorway. Positioning himself at the foot of the bed, between the couple and the approaching evil, he knew that only moments remained to ward off the impending harm. The horde crowded into the room and panic wracked him as he desperately searched for a way to fend off this impending peril.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a sense of calm and enlightenment infused him. Knowledge of what had to be done and a sheer confidence settled in where apprehension had previously existed.

Hesitation disappeared as he stared directly at the obscene and malevolent beings that pressed forward. Once prepared, he issued a command that left no room for negotiation...and quite simply ordered them to go!

His adversary seethed with anger but he knew now that they could only wreak havoc if he allowed them to...They fed off fear but could do no physical harm unless he first granted them permission.

With this knowledge he was also aware that what confronted him could never deny him providing he believed in himself and the greater powers that gave him existence.

Once again he commanded the evil to be gone and once more the throng endeavoured to intimidate him but their rebuttal was weaker now. Unwaveringly, he pressed them for a third time and the mass bridled but withdrew in spite of itself, vanishing into a void, leaving his home serene once more.

He relished the tranquillity for a moment before gradually turning to view the sleeping couple.

At that moment he heard a voice that conveyed a message of gentle pride as it congratulated him. "Well done" was all it said but, with that, a wave of warmth and love overcame him. He could not remember feeling such sheer contentment before and, uncharacteristically on these occasions, he was happy to return to his body. Drifting towards his inert form as it lay on the bed he let the restoration process take place.

There was a brief period of adjustment as the two forms began to merge, then finally they were one again. He opened his eyes and lay there for a while basking in the afterglow and then at last, with a smile on his face, he dropped off to sleep.

The sense of well being was still with him the following morning. He was making small talk with his wife when she happened to mention that she'd had a bad dream last night. She had dreamt that their doorbell had rung and, in her dream, they were both suddenly in danger...

Footnote:

For those of you that have experienced this phenomenon or something like it, perhaps you feel as I do that it cannot be easily dismissed. There are increasing reports of near-death experiences that bring with them a wealth of detail. The implication being that the Out of Body state may be more than simple fantasy. My own experiences over the years have provided substantial evidence both for myself and for those closest to me. The Tao Buddhists refer to our earthly existence as MAYA or Illusion, believing that we are in some way curtained off from true reality. One is given to wonder then what we would see, if we could pull aside the curtain?

Professional Numerologist and Astrologer, Peter Dobrovic offers personal consultations and professionally written reports based on over twenty years experience of practising Numerology. There are a few ingredients and three easy techniques you need to cook this up. Needless to mention, if you are an intermediate to expert level in the art of astral projection you might already know these ingredients.

However, the hope of jotting this down is to provide a very simple recipe to allow anyone to achieve success literally overnight.

1. First Ingredient: Everything Requires an Exchange of Energy

Automobiles need fuel to move, plants need water and sun to grow, even the human body needs energy, in this case food, to function efficiently. That being said, projecting astral projection also requires an exchange of energy, or fuel. The natural question is: What is this fuel and where does it come from?

Firstly, for clarity's sake let's dichotomize this fuel into organic fuel and prana (life force).

The aforementioned fuel is plainly and simply just food. The body needs to be well nourished and healthy to be apt to allocate its precious resources to astral endeavors. If you are weak you won't be able to study, exercise, heal, or operate efficiently, it is no different when it comes to astral projection. That being said, it is possible to overwork or put enough stress on the body to achieve astral projection but this is for obvious reasons counterproductive. A healthy diet works best. Plenty of water and a supplement of B vitamins and magnetite will do wonders. Lemon juice is also an important and accessible part of this equation. It is very important to test, test, and test again. What diet works best for you? What feeding time works best for you?

Attempting to project too soon after dinner will reduce your chances of a projection because of the stress on your digestive system. Substances such as caffeine and alcohol will also act against you. Avoid them during your projections.

The other and more important kind of fuel is prana. This, in a nutshell is an unseen energy that is all around us and permeates everything. This is the energy that ties and binds our universe together. Think of prana as the "Force" from the film Star Wars. Much like organic fuel allows your physical body to operate, prana is what will fuel your "astral probe" and allow "projection". Breathing is by far the easiest and most accessible way of obtaining prana. What's the trick? In order to absorb prana it must be wanted. Turn your lungs, and your body into a loving home for this prana, invite it in and it will come. There are more advance ways of absorbing prana. Specialized meditation techniques, I recommend a specialized chakra meditation that will yield more than enough prana for projections, amongst other benefits.

2. Second Ingredient: Knowledge is Power

The biggest factor ruining aspiring astral projectors all over the planet is fear. And knowledge is the weapon of choice against this treacherous enemy. There are countless articles, books and tapes on the subject. Saturate yourself with the subject. Be logical and don't believe everything you read. There is a great debt of gratitude due to all the trail blazers that have put astral projection in the map, but remember these are regular people trying to explain and talk about an unusual subject. Thus, be wary of misinterpretations. One pearl of knowledge that must be shared and will strike down fear of astral projection is that: You are not out of your body. Yes, you never leave your body while you are projecting. Think about these letters that you are reading. You are experiencing with your sight. These letters are outside your body, yet you are able to perceive and experience them while you remain inside inside your body. It is of great importance to grasp this. It will obliterate ignorant fears commonly associated with astral projection, such as, fear of death, fear of possessions and fear of getting lost outside of your body.

3. Third Ingredient: Practice Makes Perfect

Who likes to hear this sentence? Not nearly as many as those that like to say it. But, as painful as it sounds, it holds true. Any skill worth having requires you to put in a decent amount of time and effort. Now that your motivation is likely back to zilch allow me to digress to the original point of this article...yes, the overnight part. Hopefully, your motivation is now back to normal levels. The following are three simple and efficient techniques that will project your astral probe literally overnight.

The Movement Technique

After a long day of white water rafting I proceeded to lay down in my bed and rest. Interestingly, laying there in a relaxed state, I couldn't help but notice that the movement of the raft moving down the river had stayed with me. I went with it for a while and as soon as my brain was convinced of the reality of this movement it was tricked into achieving it. Before I knew it my astral probe was inches away from my bedroom wall as I lay in bed. After discovering this purely by accident I experimented with other variations of movement, such as, jogging, swimming and even driving a car with great success.
The "Feels Like Technique"

This is a very powerful technique, and for the purpose of astral projection you might want to think of it as visualization on steroids. Using this technique, is the only way I have been able to project while completely awake. In a nutshell, you will pick a room in your house; the bathroom seems to work best. Lie down and relax in your bedroom. Now as you lay there, relaxing and getting comfortable start to picture your bathroom in your mind's eye. If you are anything like me, your first attempts at visualization will be pathetic. Your job is to trick your brain into believing it is in the bathroom, the brain is no fool, and you need to imitate the sensory data the brain expects to receive to the best of your ability. Feel the colors, the brightness, and the texture of the surface. Look at the mirror, the corners of the room, the sink, you get the idea. It is all in the details.
The Lazy Technique

This is my favorite one because it requires the least amount of work. This technique requires you to play around with your normal sleep schedule, so it is not recommended for work or school days. Simply set your alarm clock about three hours earlier than usual. Get up and do some type of task that will require some degree of focus. Read a book, preferably on astral projection, take a walk around your block. Taking a 15 minute drive usually does it for me. Then go back to your warm, comfortable and inviting bed. That is it. I can only speculate that these actions put your brain in a very special state of mind that makes it much more prone to achieve astral projection.

Everything in the universe requires an exchange of energy. Remember that, whether you are writing an article fueled by caffeine or sending an astral probe to the Mexican Riviera powered by prana. Knowledge will set you and your astral probes free. Educate yourself on the subject; it is the only way to dispel ignorance and fear. Be consistent with your practice, anything worth gaining requires effort. And if all this sounds like too much work, at least give "the lazy technique" a try, you might be one of the few lucky natural astral projectors.

George Avila

Higher Balance Institute offers tools for meditation, spiritual development, enhanced intuition and sensory awareness in the world. I was particularly interested in astral projection I would read all the books and try all the examples, you see I really wanted to experience what these so called astral travelers were experiencing, apparently they were able to leave their bodies for a length of time and travel in the real world to far off places - often they would notice something whilst traveling that would have been impossible to notice from their present location and after their experience would gain credibility by confirming that the object or place actually existed. So in a nutshell people may have the ability to leave their bodies and travel often flying to far off places sometimes also time traveling.

To examine this further I will need your open mind for this is a journey that if you follow right to the end may change your life forever. BECAUSE IT DID FOR ME!

There are many theories about this ability and the lack of a single proven theory gives me the right to have my own opinion on why and how we have this amazing untapped gift. To start with at this very moment look at your hand, doesn't matter which one - now clench your fist, not to tight just enough to feel the pressure and sensation of warmth, the joints clicking (mine anyway), the extension in your forearm, you get the picture. Now how does this happen, scientist will have you believe that it is all in our head the feelings are triggered by the millions of nerve endings in our hand and impulses travel up the arm into our head where the process is completed. Well you know I am going to say this is not true and I have proof, well I don't have proof! However what I do have is clues which I will cover as we proceed. Anyway back to your hand, you clenched your fist and felt it didn't you - wait a minute what is YOU, What are you! You are a collection of cells protein and bone and other things, which makes you a mass or blob, structured with a frame of bone and If that was true then how do YOU feel and how do you see and most importantly how do you know that you have done it and think about it. Think about this why doesn't a robot that has processors and sensors have feelings, you may argue that a computer is very much like the human brain and does have feelings - but this is absurd; a computer does what it is told because all a computer is capable of is following instructions with the decision making illusion decided by its creator, so a computer is just a super toy or tool that often can mimic human behavior. So how do we feel and know it, how do we enjoy or hate, love or lust, care for and do the irrational to other people - to answer that, there is no easy answer because I am crossing into the mysterious unexplainable domain of the - I, the SELF -. So here goes I believe that we are not protein sacks, that in fact we are astral entities, right now this second we are all individual astral beings and the impossible is happening right now. You are sitting or standing reading this article as an astral being, a child of the universe with the mysterious SELF within.

Remember the clues I mentioned, I consider our creativity to be the big clue to our hidden nature we express our selves in our creativity and often look at our creations and wonder at them in amazement. Take for example our fascination with outer space and our creation, the space suit to enable us to experience space! Why do this why not just stay where we are. This is it you see our astral being has evolved from a state where there was other levels of existence to experience it would occupy the astral plain that was devoid of detail and depth (Ill explain this in a moment) and see this other place that was just out of reach that had substance and gravity, light and sound - I'm talking of the material plain of course, and would dream of reaching out and going to this place.

So over the eons or maybe moments we developed the ability to reach the material plain, but don't ask me how but we developed our material bodies that gave us the ability to do just that. So you see, this is what is happening right now with space travel and dreams of interstellar travel, it goes far deeper than a need for resources its what drives us because of our astral beginnings the longing for something more. What about art, music architectural wonders of the world all this makes us feel good inside, WHY, because we have our astral existence to thank.

The astral plain was once devoid of colour and sound, texture it was just blank nothingness we existed there as entities just floating with no imagination or power of thought we had just the inner self that spark if you will the mysterious I and we craved all the things that the material world had to offer and it was just over the horizon teasing us. The pull of this other realm was just to great for us to ignore but we made it there didn't we! We've achieved the impossible thanks to our protein sacks. But hang on what about when our bodies wither and melt back into the earth what happens then "WE DIE" you say No we return to the other/astral realm where we came from but this time we take with us the experiences we just had on the material plain not as humans but as architects to help paint our once blank realm that was nothingness with our experiences and our wrongs and wrights.

Our collective experiences now start filling the astral plain with color and sound, texture and feelings like a museum of life, its our very reason for being here to contribute to the astral world and make our true realm, our home, a better place. So you see this is reflected in our creativity and our drive on the material plain, its just us doing what we exist for to fill our hearts with color and feeling so we have something to take back with us.

Right so with this in mind if you clench your fist again you are getting sensation of pressure and texture from your outer suit - your body - and it sends the signals to your brain that then converts the signals to something that you the astral being can experience similar to our communication devices that we use like TV, RADIO, MOBILE PHONES the signal is converted to something that we can hear from the speakers that then goes through our ears and is transformed by the brain into a coherent format for our astral selves. Does this make sense; Bear with me.

We can actually see astral substance right now close your eyes and imagine a triangle. It's your imagination right! Well yes it is, your imagination allows you to perceive things you have experienced in abstract or exact form and no it's not the astral world but a lower form of it that prepares our experiences on the material plane using memory; for the astral plane.

Well! I know most of you will probably find this hard to digest and that we are stuck in our bodies, well this is almost true. It's the other way around, in fact our bodies are stuck to us. And like someone who has been in an environment for to long and has to acclimatise to a new one like someone in prison for years for instance, they struggle to see the other possibilities and often recoil at them and cling to the familiar until they take time and instruction on how to do something new and that will in time, eventually feel normal.

So if our physical bodies are really a kind of space suit or putting it more accurately physical plain suit, why can't we just climb out of it be natural like we should be. Well good question.

We are born in this suit, our memories of the other world if we have any, are cleaned and we are given a chance to experience the world; unbiased and fresh we grow in our suits and our suits mold our astral self into a form very similar to what we look like in the mirror. We become glued to our bodies and we learn to trust our physical self and eventually depend on it. So you see now its not easy to get out of the jelly bags we call bodies. I have tried believe me but I learned that, if done incorrectly it can create a mental block or something that would make it near impossible for me to do it again. But all was not in vane.

Here's the thing! I actually managed to do it only for a short time and it was AMAZING I followed one of the tutorials I have been practicing for about 2 months, and I actually DID IT twice!. For the best part of 2 months I practiced one of the tutorials I purchased, I had to imagine myself 'right before going to sleep' in a situation where I would feel uncomfortable and restraint. The idea goes that the longing for freedom will separate the astral self at the level of consciousness just above sleep. I imagined myself as a bird trapped at the bottom of the sea by a chain and the I the bird is drowning but all I need to do is reach the surface and I will be okay, I know its cheesy but who cares it worked - and there is a lot more to the tutorial than I have covered here though

In my first experience I found myself separate from my body for about 30 seconds and saw my body laying in bed from above. At that point I remember thinking, well a four letter word or something to that effect and was instantly projected back into my body. It was so strange and I sat up afterwords and felt exhilarated and for want of a better word on a high it didn't leave me for about two days the feelings of amazement and a sense of clarity I cant quite put my finger on.

The second time was intense, absorbing and very moving it touched me deep down and left me with a sense of clarity once again. I'm sure I was flying across some vast landscape that had structure and speed. I achieved my experiences because of these fantastic guides [http://www.kaprikorn-shop.co.uk] and the videos and it took me just less than two months I am looking forward to deeper experiences like this guide promises and I have started learning Lucid dreaming [http://www.kaprikorn-shop.co.uk] another passion of mine.

Mark Cunningham

IT Teacher

Private Tutor

8 Effective Tips To Get Rid Of Your Astral Projection Fears

By Abhishek Agarwal

One of the most important reasons why people do not succeed in Astral Projection is because of fear. If you are afraid of the Astral world, let me assure you that you're not alone! Fear of the unseen and unknown is a quite natural emotion. When you overcome your fears, you will find a land of unlimited possibilities in front of you!

In this short article we will discuss some common Astral Projection fears and some effective tips on how to overcome them.

What do people fear?

Just the thought of separation from the physical body frightens many people. They feel something heinous is waiting for them... ready to pounce on them as soon as they Project!
Some feel they might not be able to return to their bodies. Others are afraid they might be harmed in some way as a result of Projection. And quite a few people feel their bodies might be possessed.

All the above are very common fears. But rest assured, NOTHING IS FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH! These FEARs are just in our minds and are nothing but all False Evidence Appearing Real! They can be very well be conquered.

1. Knowledge is powerful... :

Most people who fear do not fully understand the nature of Astral Projection. Their fears can only be replaced by knowledge and understanding. You should read everything you can regarding OOBE, and become familiar with all aspects of the experience. You should know what to expect during and after the exit out of body. Devour every bit of information you get on the topic. Knowledge never harmed anybody.

2...Action is more powerful than knowledge :

True, knowledge is powerful. But it should also be remembered that just theoretically reading all about dealing with fear doesn’t help much. You see, there is no substitute for personal experience. We ultimately need to FACE our fears head-on!

To eliminate unreasonable fears, we have to go through the frightening activity and come out unscathed. In doing so, we can eliminate the fears that tend to cloud our progress in discovering our Astral reality.

3. You are the Creator :

The Astral Plane is a manifestation of our own thoughts. We are the creators. We can create whatever we want, both good and bad.

If we are convinced that a devil is out there and if we visualize it strongly enough, we should not be surprised to meet our creation! The devils we create become real and solid in the Astral dimension because we created them. If we meet any of our unwanted creations, it must be faced with courage! Since we are the creators, we can change the devil in to a cute and harmless puppy!
When we realize that we are the creators, we will find that our fears are only hollow threats that crumple into nothing.

So remember. There is nothing that can harm us while we are out of our body. If we have no fear, we won't meet fear. It’s as simple as that.

4. You will always return to our body :

If you fear you might not be able to return to your body, think about this. We ALWAYS leave our body every night when we sleep. Have we ever "not" able to return? So why should we not return this time? We will get back to the body every time! Believe it or not, the problem with Projection is always staying out, never getting in! You can do everything in our power to NOT come back! But you WILL always come back, even if you don’t want to!

5. You cannot be possessed :

You can never be possessed during Projection.

During OOBE, a person's physical body and mind are in a very sensitive state and cannot be infiltrated or possessed. An energy field is produced during Projection that extends in all directions around the body. This is very sensitive and will cause a Projection to abort if something unfriendly penetrates this field.

Moreover, the Astral body and the Physical body are connected by an energy cord (called the Silver Cord) it is not possible for any entity to sever this cord and get inside the body. So we are quite safe during an OBE.

6. Don’t fear the unknown :

To a certain degree this fear will always be with us. After even scores of Projections, there will be something unknown out there. But as I said, nothing can harm us and we are invulnerable in our Astral form. Our body has excellent defense mechanism to protect us during a projection. It’s just our own fears that can harm us.

7. Use affirmations :

One very effective way to overcome any kind of fear is to immediately begin repeating a safety affirmation. Brief, positive statements like "I am protected and safe. No harm can come to me" are very effective.

As we repeat our affirmations, our fears will diminish and eventually disappear.

8. Project during the day :

A big part of Projection related fear stems from trying to OOBE at night. At night, the world is dark, eerie and frightening. Hence trying Projection in the dark is a natural invitation to fear!

The best ways to overcome this is to practice Projecting during daytime. This will give you more confidence and make you achieve results faster. If you have to practice at night, you might consider switching on some dim lights before Projecting.

Conclusion :

Fear is something that we have to overcome in order to succeed in Astral Projection. These fears will take on some form or the other and surface until it has been overcome completely. We must release ourselves from the death-grip of fear and set ourselves free.
Hope this short article will help you face your fears head-on! Wish you all success in your Astral projection adventures. May your life be enriched.

Copyright Abhishek Agarwal.

Suddenly, I found myself hovering above my two year old body with a mature adult consciousness. I gazed at the young body, then back up to notice the position of the stars in the night sky to instantly recognize my location in the universe. Then I said to myself in silent wonder, "Earth? What am I doing on Earth?" The experience lasted for a few minutes before I re-entered the body to resume the role of being a two-year-old child. I soon forgot about the conscious clarity of the experience. Many years later, at the age of eleven or twelve, a series of phenomenal events took place in my life that fully awakened this childhood experience and much more. I kept completely silent about this awakening and about a number of direct UFO encounters I began to have shortly after this, while residing in Washington State not far from MT Rainier during a time when there were many documented UFO sightings there.

Much later on (around age of nineteen), I was living in Half Moon Bay, California in a house near the Eucalyptus forests that ran down to the shoreline. It was a warm sunny afternoon day in early summer and I walked out the open back door, then stopped to gaze down at the white sand dune at my feet. An unusual comforting energy come down over me (that's the only way I have of describing it) and I just intuitively knew to stoop down and draw a very ancient symbol in the sand with my forefinger. At the time I was unaware this symbol came from ancient Lemuria. (More is revealed about this place a little further along in this article.) Then, without stopping to ponder or think why, I went into the house and tuned my guitar into a tuning I had never played in before. The immediately inspiration came to me to perform a hauntingly beautiful, intricately finger-picked guitar composition over which I sang (not consciously knowing what I was doing) the inherently complete lyrics of the song that became titled, "Lemuria." Eventually, this lead to the creation of THE PARALLEL TIME TRILOGY of novels and screenplays labeled in a new genre as...Revealing Phenomenal Epic Adventures.

Later that afternoon, I laid down on my bed with my eyes open. Suddenly, a single word came into my head that simply commanded, "Up!" and I was immediately lifted out of my body. From my new perspective as an aware viewpoint comprised of a luminous sphere of energy, I gazed down at my body lying face-up on the bed with the eyes wide open and I clearly understood I was having a fully conscious out-of-body experience. Then somehow I just knew what to do and I flew right up through the ceiling to find myself in a slightly higher dimension with a body made of thousands of sparkling tiny blue star-like dots of light. This form looked exactly like my physical body; but the freedom I had in this higher body and what experiences I had in this other reality before voluntarily returning to my physical body will silently remain with me for now.

I spent the next twenty-eight years of my life developing, writing and re-writing what became "The Parallel Time Trilogy." Three volumes or books make up the trilogy that is predominately based on extensive explorations over the years into other realities and along what is sometime referred to as the past and future time-track. These journeys occurred both during the day while practicing certain contemplation or Spiritual techniques and at night while my body remained fast asleep. The epic story that came out of these explorations is centered around Earth in present time; unlike the "Star Wars" stories and films by George Lucas that happened far...far...away in another galaxy or the "Star Trek" T.V. and film series that took place centered around Earth in the distant future. There are also mature character and story elements that will keenly interest the fans of both "The Lord Of The Rings" novel trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien and the "Harry Potter" novels by J.K. Rowling.

A few of the story elements are outlined below:

The plausible resolution to the UFO phenomena, both benevolent and malevolent, revealed for the first time; why the poles of Earth flip over 180 degrees overnight approximately every 80,000 years. (This is now based on widely accepted scientific fact, supported by many scientists around the world); why there is an asteroid belt circling in the orbit of a planet between Mars and Jupiter in our solar system that was once an inhabited world; the exploration of numerous paralleltime (combined here into a single word for creative reasons) doorways or inter-dimensional portals that lead into parallel dimensions on Earth or into higher dimensions that exist well beyond the vast reaches of outer space; the secret group of Master Adepts that carefully guard these inter-dimensional doorways, who are - for the most part - entirely unknown to the history of this world and its people; and where we are all headed in the near future, while our continued existence at stake, as the protagonist and antagonist go at it for the survival or destruction of Earth.

More information about Lemuria follows:

Lemuria or Mu, as it is sometimes referred to, was an ancient civilization that existed on Earth before it was destroyed approximately 80,000 years ago.

Many of you may agree or disagree with this statement. However, remember this. Lemuria existed for approximately 80,000 years before it was destroyed. Those of you who have had some past-life recall about this mysterious land should ponder that you may have recalled various aspects of one lifetime or perhaps even entire lifetimes located at different points along the this long time-track of approximately 80,000 years. Some of you may have recalled time spent on Lemuria when it was in its infancy. Others will remember a life midway along its development and still others may recall passing out of a lifetime at it zenith when it was destroyed in one night. Therefor, it may startle some of you to realize that you may all be right to some degree regarding this ancient continent. That said, I will now continue with this article.

Lemuria was a massive continent centered over the equator of Earth at the time that roughly looked like what is called today referred to as THE RING OF FIRE. This ring is created when the volcanic tectonic plates collide with each other along the pacific rim down the west coast of North, Central and South America, then across the ocean to continue upward along the eastern seaboard of Southeast Asia, China, Russia, and then back across the ocean to Alaska. If you drew a pencil line along these coastlines on a map or globe of Earth you would make a complete rough circle that crosses over significant volcanic activity of THE RING OF FIRE. This was the rough shape and size of what was Lemuria. This entire huge Lemurian continent, the benevolent ruling and colonizing center of the world at the time, was destroyed when the poles of our planet flipped over 180 degrees overnight and I must mention that our planet goes through this cycle like clockwork approximately every 80,000 years. This resulted in the complete volcanic eruption and total destruction of the massive Lemurian continent as it sank beneath the seething ocean waves. Most of its then large colony continent of Atlantis (two-thirds the size of the motherland of Lemuria and almost independent in its own right at the time) was located on the other side of the planet, also centered over the equator. It too was almost completely destroyed during this one night - all but a small five hundred square mile volcanic island. It was this large island that was once located in the mysterious Bermuda Triangle area in the Atlantic ocean southeast of Florida. Over a long period of time, Atlantis grew into a dominating power to become the new colonizing empire of the world. Then it was destroyed by volcanic eruptions caused by the misuse of scientific technology coupled with the corrupt ruling priests misuse of psychic power approximately 35,000 years ago. The famous well-documented and highly accurate deceased psychic Edgar Cayce stated that he could only view into the past time-track as far back as 35,000 years and this coincides with his statement regarding the time when the Atlantis he knew about was destroyed.

In Summary:

"Always follow your heart." is a good saying or axiom that I choose to adhere to in my own life. This statement I hang my hat on it, so-to-speak, as a way of living, being and going forward through life. By practicing this saying, a new developing website is being created as a home for both the music that originated from the above experiences and "The Parallel Time Trilogy." When the release date is announced and the first hardback book becomes available to the public, everyone will know that this novel trilogy is headed (in the very near future) toward major feature film production. Principle photography of all three features will be shot back-to-back, followed by the worldwide theatrical release of each episode over a three year period. After all, the novel trilogy episodes were developed after the entire screenplay trilogy was first written, re-written and finally completed. Episode or Book One is nearly ready for worldwide publication. It will be released with a special high effects short feature DVD film. This will have an accompanying music score and it will be available with other associated ancillary products from our new novel and ancillary publishing company via our developing website and through major retail booksellers - as well as many other outlets.

Thank you for reviewing this article and please periodically check back to see how the website is developing and for the announcement of the release date for Novel One of the trilogy. (Nothing is currently being promoted for sale at this website. There is no shopping cart.)

You are wished the very best in life.

Most sincerely,

R. She had a paranormal experience after several hours on the Ouija board while stoned on marijuana that sent her on the path of discovery of consciousness beyond the physical body. She was in a period of her life when she deprived herself of sleep--as she herself says; probably because she was a dedicated student and researcher. Any of those factors alone could have helped in attaining an experience.

Her experience: Blackmore floated out of her room in Oxford, hovered over New York and went back in to her room. She says she became very small and entered into one of her toes and finally become so big as the universe.

She becomes a lecturer a well known expert and one day she quits, she no longer believes in the paranormal. I suppose t his is a fluid situation and I am interjecting here that we are not always the same person, form day to day, from year to year. As she said: "Another "psychic" turns up. I must devise more experiments, take these claims seriously. They fail - again. A man explains to me how alien abductors implanted something in his mouth. Tests show it's just a filling, but it might have been".

So now she a skeptic or was when she wrote what she wrote in her home age.

What some the scientists say about self proclaimed alien abductees:

... they have a tendency to believe in fantasies and suffer disturbing experiences in their sleep

... "abductees" also believe in their experiences so deeply that they display real stress symptoms similar to those of traumatized battlefield veterans

... they have episodes of apparent sleep paralysis accompanied by hallucinations

... they had pre-existing new-age beliefs

... they have psycho-physiologic emotional reactions

It is thought there more than five million Americans who believe they have been abducted by extraterrestrials

People seek therapy because they wake up paralyzed and rigid (sleep paralysis, a close component of astral travel). They wake up and see strange beings around them (entities found in the astral plane-aliens?) or find themselves floating or vibrating violently, or engulfed in a bright light ( found in near death experiences). Some people have even gone so far as to say their astral experiences are connected with alien encounters.

Does it appear to be the description of an abduction? Is there a connection?

In view of the following and other information from different experiencers, I ask myself the question: are they extraterrestrials or are they "us" in the future"? This idea is alive in texts and communications from some that claim to be receiving information from extraterrestrials. Can we travel to the future in this way? Are the aliens coming from "a future"?

On the other hand, there are people like Robert A. Monroe (October 30, 1915 - March 17, 1995) whose institute still runs classes to develop altered consciousness and to experience OBEs/astral travel. He subjected himself to different experiments until he discovered what he called Hemi-Sync *, a process to induce astral travel or help enhance consciousness. According to his own account, while experimenting with sleep-learning in 1958, Monroe experienced an unusual phenomenon, which he described as sensations of paralysis and vibration accompanied by a bright light that appeared to be shining on him from a shallow angle. Monroe goes on to say that this occurred another nine times over the next six weeks, culminating in his first out-of-body experience. I have read his three books where he describes the increasingly complex accounts of his out of body travels and I was impressed. He was able to move back to a prior "self" in at the moment of dying and helping "him" realize he was dead. In another OBE he talks to another person and we later learn that that person was his future self helping his current personality! Impressive. My view of this phenomena has been greatly enhanced by his three books: Journeys Out of the Body, Far Journeys and The Ultimate Journey, which I have read over three times.

* In 1975, Monroe registered a patent for an audio-visual device designed to stimulate brain functions until the left and right hemispheres became synchronized. Monroe held that this state, dubbed Hemi-Sync (hemispherical synchronization), could be used to promote mental well being or to trigger an altered state of consciousness. Monroe's concept was based on an earlier hypothesis known as binaural beats and has since been expanded on a commercial basis by the self help industry. (wikipedia)

On his astral travels Monroe learned about different "locales" where he could find himself during an OBE. First of the locales was a representation of the physical world. On one specific occasion he managed to go out and visit a friend, Dr. Bradshaw, who was ill. He could later describe the clothes he and his wife were wearing on that day, but not only that, he had found the couple outside the home, which he did not expect since the doctor, to his knowledge, was ill in bed. He called them later and he learned that he had decided to come out at that precise moment to get fresh air, thinking it would help him get better. So much for the hallucination theory. On a similar note, individual experiences by other people corroborate that.

Serious and dedicated scientists have looked into this phenomena, astral travel and sleep paralysis (associated with it), with great enthusiasm and open eyes. We are discovering a new country, different worlds within worlds or consciousness within consciousness. People experiment, meditate, use different techniques like Hemi-Sinc, beverages and music; some get to experience OBEs and some don't. We are all different and have different capabilities. The many "locales" may represent concurrent worlds within the physical world, beyond what we can actually see with our physical eyes. Many different kinds of "life" can inhabit these worlds or dimensions.

Some people believe we humans are multidimensional beings and that we are not aware of the capabilities to live in these many other worlds, although we do it unconsciously. Is the next evolution of the human race to consciously travel these dimensional worlds consciously? I believe that the answer is yes and the proof is in the being able to experience these altered states naturally as we evolve into higher beings.

An experiencer of lucid dreams.

http://ufoseeker.wordpress.com/category/dreams

OBE Vibrations - 3 Ways How to Tell How Close You Are to an OBE Or Lucid Dream

Here in part 10 you'll find out why everything you've read about O.B.E vibrations in books is wrong and you'll find out the 3 easiest ways to tell how close you are to an O.B.E.

The Top 3 Signals To Tell How Close You Are To An Obe

If you've never done an O.B.E before, it's extremely difficult to know if you're making any progress until you're actually already out of your body or in a lucid dream. What you need are easy to detect signals that you can use like road signs to tell you how close you are to succeeding. In this section we'll cover the top 3 most common road signs. These are:

1 - The sleep paralysis wave
2 - Pre O.B.E rushing noises
3 - Vibrations

Sleep Paralysis Wave: Your Primary Signal

We already covered the sleep paralysis wave in Lucidology 101 part 2. Essentially when your body shuts itself down in sleep paralysis you'll feel something like a heavy lead blanket feeling being laid on your body. This feeling is unmistakable and a sign that you're very close to success and you can use the exit techniques we'll cover in part 12 to turn the paralysis into an O.B.E.

Pre-O.B.E. Rushing Noises: The Second Most Frequent Signal

The second road sign to watch for are pre-O.B.E rushing noises. When you tune in between stations on a radio you get the sound of random static andwhite noise. Once you're back on a station again things come in clearly. It's the same thing with O.B.E.s. You start out completely focused in your normal waking environment and as you drop into a subconscious focus you pass through a kind of no man's land where you're not really conscious and you're not really subconscious.

Rushing Noises Can Sound Like A Tornado Or Freight Train

When you're tuned to that no-man's land frequency you hear rushing noises that sound like random static or a train rushing by.

Vibrations: The Most Famous Progress Signal

About the same time you hear rushing noises you may feel what are called O.B.E vibrations. Vibrations are probably the most famous phenomenon associated with O.B.E.s and they're also the effect that has the most misconceptions. Almost everything to be found in books on O.B.E.s about vibrations is simply wrong and so this is a place where a lot of people get stuck. They reach the vibration stage and then get hung up because they use an ineffective method from bad advice they read in a book.

The 3 Critical Vibrations Misconceptions

The 3 misconceptions about vibrations are:

1.) What they are

2.) What they mean

3.) How to use them.

What Vibrations Are Not

Here's what vibrations are not. Vibrations are not a subjective kind of thing where you it's like you're "feeling the vibes, man, far out!". Vibrations are much more mundane than that.

What Are Vibrations Like?

If you make a VVVVV sound, the feeling of vibrations in your lips is very similar to the feeling of vibrations that often appear along with medium stages of paralysis. Sometimes the vibrations can been extremely strong and feel like electricity, other times they are entirely absent. It's very rare for vibrations to be strong enough to be painful, usually they just feel like a harmless buzzing in your head and chest area.

Types Of O.B.E Vibrations

However sometimes they can go throughout your entire body. These can be incredibly loud and feel like you're holding on to a chain saw. A lot of people report feeling them in the spine. In one case I woke up into an O.B.E in my bed and it sounded exactly like there was someone with a hedge trimmer outside my window. I realized it was because I had off the chart vibrations that were coming from what I later found to be the L1 lumbar vertebrae in my lower back. I used deep breathing to return myself from the O.B.E because I was running more energy than what seemed safe.

Most O.B.E Vibrations Are Harmless

That was a very unusual experience and most of the time you actually won't have any vibrations at all and if you do it's no more powerful than the feeling of a vibrating cell phone.

The basic thing to know is that once you've had vibrations, you will know it. There won't be any question in your mind about it because it's just a buzzing feeling and noise.

Misconception #2: What O.B.E Vibrations Mean

The second misconception is that most books will tell you that when you have vibrations you're ready to exit into the O.B.E. This is completely the polar opposite of reality. Vibrations mean that you are NOT ready to exit and here's why.

Double Energy From Two Signals

Physical and nonphysical awarenesses are both types of signals that you focus on. During the middle stage of an O.B.E exit you're making the transition from one to the other and you experience both physical and nonphysical signals. These signals have energy. When you sum both of these signals together you pass through a phase where you're running double the amount of energy you normally would.

Double Energy Can Result In Intermodulation Distortion

If this energy is more than your system can comfortably handle, you get distortion. The big fancy signal processing name for this is intermodulation distortion. The name is not so important as the fact that this energy hump does not go on forever, it comes and then goes and this is critical to understanding how to deal with vibrations.

Vibrations Mean You're Not Ready To Exit: Wait For "The Quiet Zone"

Because the excess energy hump comes and goes, you get a 'quiet zone' once you've focused completely out of physical focus and in to nonphysical focus. So it looks like this: you start out in physical focus with no vibes. You relax into a near O.B.E and get light vibes. You relax almost to the point of separation and get majorly heavy vibes. This is where most people screw it up because of the bad advice in books. The trick is to simply continue to relax deeper and deeper past the vibrations until the vibes have smoothed out completely. Once you're in the quiet zone after the vibes, that's how you know you've completely shifted into the O.B.E.

Unbalanced Tires Analogy

The energy hump is like a truck I used to have with unbalanced tires. When it got up to 45 MPH it would start vibrating the entire truck. At 55 MPH it would smooth out again. The range of 45 to 55 MPH was a transition range that caused the tires to vibrate with each other. Pre O.B.E. rushing noises and vibrations are the same thing: you're coming in and out of phase with two different physical and nonphysical signals.

What About Vibrationless O.B.E.s?

Keep in mind that the vibrations only happen when the total energy goes beyond what your nonphysical body is capable of conducting. The more O.B.E.s you do, the more energy you can run without problems and the less vibrations you'll have. Eventually almost all your O.B.E.s will be vibration-free.

Vibrationless O.B.E.s

You'll go from waking awareness, with no vibes, all the way to the O.B.E with no vibes which means you'll have to rely on other signals that we'll cover later to tell if you're in the O.B.E. The up side to this is that vibrationless O.B.E.s are much brighter and clearer than O.B.E.s where you have to punch through massive vibrations.

Why Vibrationless O.B.E.s Are Brighter And Clearer

Why would that be? In a chainsaw, the noise is caused by friction. Vibrations are a form of noise, so vibrations are a form of friction. Friction is waste of energy. Chainsaw noise is a waste of physical energy and so vibrations are a waste of nonphysical energy.

When you're in vibrations you're wasting energy so it's a state you want to relax through as quickly as possible.

Misconception #3: What To Do With Vibrations

The next misconception is what to do once you're in vibrations. For instance, Robert Monroe wrote that you should try to 'sweep' the vibrations up and down your body before separating. Is this good advice or not?

Relaxation Is The Only Solution

The only way to reduce vibrations is to reduce the pressure that causes friction and that means relaxing.

If you reach vibrations and then try to do something, whether it's running the vibrations up and down your body or anything else, then the one thing you're NOT doing is relaxing. And relaxing is exactly the one thing that you need to do when you have vibrations because only way to release the friction is to relax. No other solution will work.

This is why vibrations are a major obstacle for more OBEers, because when they try to do something, anything, they are unable to simply relax into the quiet zone.

Definitely do NOT try to force your way out when you're in the middle of vibrations. You'll almost certainly just get pulled right back into your body since you haven't yet matched up with a nonphysical focus.

The "How Close To An O.B.E? Meter": Relax Through Vibrations

Even if you do manage to muscle your way out, you'll have spent so much energy on the exit that the resulting O.B.E will probably be so dark and low energy that you'll just stagger around and not be able to do anything fun anyway. It's far better to relax through vibrations into the quiet zone and then slip out of body effortlessly.

The Sneaky Loop Hole: Photographic Trance

By the way, there is a sneaky loop hole that allows you to cheat so you can do O.B.E.s even when you're in the middle of vibrations. We'll cover this sneaky cheat in Lucidology 102 part 3. The trick is to enter something called a photographic trance which allow you to have O.B.E.s at much lighter levels of trance so you don't have to be in full sleep paralysis to separate.

Exiting Even In The Middle Of Vibrations

This loophole also opens the door to a technique called 'trance recycling' . Trance recycling allows you to have a dozen or more O.B.E.s in a row and quickly rack up a massive number of O.B.E.s in a single session.

Because many O.B.E.s are completely vibrationless, you need several other road signs to tell how close you are to success. In the next section we'll cover the 5 crucial progress signals to tell how close you are to an O.B.E.

To find out more about Lucidology 102, visit http://www.Lucidology.com

Want to see how to lucid dream tonight? You simply fall asleep for a few minutes, let the timer beep to wake you up and then you fall asleep again. This works best when you don't try to stay aware for the OBE. Just fall asleep and let the timer do all the work to make you become aware.

The Awake/Asleep Threshold

When you do that 4 or 5 times in an hour without moving your body in any way or opening your eyes or even moving your eyes, two things happen:

1.) Your body becomes confused about what's going on and decides to put itself to sleep even though your mind is still awake

2.) Your mind enters a theta brain wave which puts you in a subconscious focus. A theta brain wave is just a slower version around 3-7 hz of your usual waking brain wave which is around 10-14 hz.

Waking Sleep Paralysis

These two effects together give you 'waking sleep paralysis'. Sleep paralysis is a protection mechanism your body uses when your fall asleep. If you were to dream you were doing something very active such as running and you weren't in sleep paralysis you would make the motion of running and wake yourself up.

To avoid that your body disconnects your voluntary muscle system from your mind and this creates sleep paralysis. Usually you're not aware of that because your mind is asleep. But when you keep your mind awake during this process you get "waking sleep paralysis."

In light paralysis it feels like you have a heavy lead blanket laid on you. In full paralysis you simply can't move at all. It feels like it's harder to breathe in sleep paralysis because you have to send a stronger nerve signal to your muscles to get the same movement. However it's very safe since it's something the body does every night.

How To Break Sleep Paralysis Every Time

You can easily break sleep paralysis using deep breathing. When you deep breathe for about 10 or 15 seconds your body notices the change from your usual sleep breathing and brings you out of sleep paralysis. This is a much more reliable method of breaking paralysis than trying to move your arms because your breathing is only semi-involuntary so it isn't fully paralyzed.

Waking sleep paralysis is a fantastic jumping point to have OBEs and lucid dreams because it's so stable. OBEs can be hard because everything is so subtle and fleeting. However once you're in sleep paralysis you can just hang out there and feel what it's like. In almost all of my OBEs I enter waking sleep paralysis. (Although it's also possible to do OBEs when the body is fully awake which is something we cover later)

Exit Methods

There are many ways to convert sleep paralysis into an OBE. These are called 'exit methods'. Later we'll cover visualization-free exit techniques which are simple to learn but require very deep sleep paralysis to work.

Here is very simple exit method by a forum poster named tsunaH which works surprisingly well. Once you're in 100% stone cold sleep paralysis you'll find that you can control:
1.) Your breathing
2.) Your eyes
3.) Your face

When you reach 100% sleep paralysis your breathing is physical but your eyes and face have shifted into nonphysical focus.

What you do is shift your focus in to your face which draws you in to nonphysical focus completely. To do that, simply open your mouth and continue breathing in the slow sleep-breathing rhythm your body will already be in.

This will initiate the separation process and you'll probably begin to hear rushing noises and vibrations which are both effects we'll talk about more later. Once things have quieted down again you'll be in an OBE and can just get up out of your body in the nonphysical version of your bedroom.

Movement-Free Reality Checks

How will you know you're nonphysical rather than physical? You'll use "reality checks" to tell what's going on. In particular we'll cover movement-free reality checks so that you can tell if you're nonphysical without having to move and wreck your trance.

Most reality checks you find in books require you to get up and move around. If you're just laying there and you're not sure what's going on and you move to do your check and it fails... then you just ruined your trance and have to start all over. So later on I'll show you how to do reality checks without that risk.

Timers

For timers to use search google for free 'lucid dream timer' which you can download and start using immediately.

Tricking Your Body Into Falling Asleep Using Sleep Commands

To do this method you need to be able to fall asleep quickly. Later we'll cover sleep commands that you can use to make your body ask for permission to fall asleep. You then use a sleep trigger to tell it "yes" it's time to fall asleep. This is how you trick your body into falling asleep while keeping your mind awake

When you combine the timer method with sleep commands you'll be able to trick your body info falling asleep while you keep your mind awake. The way it works is you wake up and fall asleep a couple times. Then on one of the beeps your mind and body wake up. Your body waits to see if your mind tells it to move.

If you don't tell your body to move then after about 10 seconds the body assumes the mind really is asleep and shuts itself down. You feel a wave of sleep paralysis come over you that feels like a heavy lead blanket. You've just tricked your body into falling asleep while keeping your mind awake.

The 8 Steps

1.) Awake
2.) Sleep Commands
3.) Asleep
4.) Beep

Steps 1-4 loop until you're hovering on the awake/asleep threshold

5.) Waking Sleep Paralysis
6.) Movement-Free Reality Check
7.) Exit Method
8.) OBE/Lucid Dream

Now You're Dangerous

With the information we've covered so far, you know more about OBE induction than 99% of the rest of the planet. However doing a complete OBE separation does come down to getting the details right. Everything that happens in your life, and everything that happens in your body, begins with something happening in your consciousness.

Your consciousness is who you are, your experience of Being.

You decide what ideas to accept and which to reject. You decide what to think, and you decide what to feel. When these decisions leave you with residual stress, you experience the stress as if in your physical body. We know that stress creates symptoms. The interesting question is, "Which stress creates which symptoms?" When we are able to quantify this process, we are then able to see the body as a map of the person's consciousness, relating particular symptoms to particular stresses and particular ways of being, in the same way that Type "A" Behavior has been able to be associated with heart disease.

Everything Starts In Your Consciousness

To understand this map, we must first orient ourselves to the idea that the causes of symptoms are within. While it's true that germs cause disease and accidents cause injuries, it is also true that this happens in accord with what is happening in the consciousness of the person involved.

Germs are everywhere. Why are some people affected and not others? Something different is happening in their consciousness.

Why do some patients in hospitals respond better to treatment than others? They have different attitudes. Something different is happening in their consciousness When someone is injured in an "accident," why is it that a very specific part of the body is affected, and that it is the same part that has had habitual problems? Is that an "accident," or is there a pattern and an order to the way things happen in our bodies?

You Are A Being of Energy

Your consciousness, your experience of Being, who you really are, is energy. We can call it "Life Energy" for now. This energy does not just live in your brain; it fills your entire body. Your consciousness is connected to every cell in your body. Through your consciousness, you can communicate with every organ and every tissue, and a number of therapies are based on this communication with the organs which have been affected by some kind of symptom or disorder.

This energy which is your consciousness, and which reflects your state of consciousness, can be measured through the process known as Kirlian photography. When you take a Kirlian photograph of your hand, it shows a certain pattern of energy. If you take a second photograph while imagining that you are sending love and energy to someone you know, there will be a different pattern of energy shown on the Kirlian photograph. Thus, we can see that a change in your consciousness creates a change in the energy field that is being photographed, which we call the aura.

This energy field shown in the Kirlian photographs has been quantified, so that when there are "holes" in particular parts of the energy field, these are said to correspond to particular weaknesses in specific parts of the physical body. The interesting thing about this is that the weakness shows up in the energy field before there is ever any evidence of it on the physical level.

Thus, we have an interesting direction of manifestation shown through what we have described.

1. A change of consciousness creates a change in the energy field.

2. A change in the energy field happens before a change in the physical body.

The direction of manifestation is from the consciousness, through the energy field, to the physical body.

Consciousness------1------►Energy Field------2------►Physical Body

When we look at things in this way, we see that it is not the physical body creating the energy field, the aura, but rather the aura or energy field that is creating the physical body. What we see as the physical body is the end result of a process that begins with the consciousness.

We Each Create Our Reality

When someone makes a decision that leaves them with stress, creating a blockage in the energy field with a sufficient degree of intensity, this creates a symptom on the physical level. The symptom speaks a certain language, which reflects the idea that we each create our own reality. When the symptom is described from that point of view, the metaphoric significance of the symptom becomes clear. Thus, instead of saying, "I can't see," the person would have to say, "I have been keeping myself from seeing something." If they cannot walk, they would have to say, "I have been keeping myself from walking away from something." And so on. We must understand that there are no accidents and no coincidences. Things do happen according to a pattern and order.

The Human Directional System

We can say that we have an inner guidance system, a connection to our Higher Self, or our Inner Being, or whatever name we choose to give this Higher Intelligence. This inner guidance system functions through what we call our intuition, or our instinct. It speaks a very simple language. Either it feels good, or it doesn't. All the rest is just politics.

We are told we should move with what feels good, and do not do what doesn't feel good to us. We are told to trust this inner voice. When we don't follow this inner voice we feel tension. We feel not-good.

Then, the voice must get louder. The next level of communication is through the emotions. As we move more and more in the direction that feels not-good, we experience more and more emotions that feel not-good, and at some point we can say, "I should have listened to myself when I thought to move in the other direction." That meant that we heard the inner voice. Otherwise, we could not have said, "I should have listened." If we make the decision we know is the right one for us, and therefore change direction, there is a release of tension, we feel better, and we know we are again on the right track.

If we continue to move in the direction that feels not-good, the communication reaches the physical level. We create a symptom, and the symptom speaks a language which reflects the idea that we each create our own reality. When we describe the symptom from that point of view, we can understand the message.

If we change our way of being, we have received the message, and the symptom has no further reason for being. It is able to be released, according to whatever we allow ourselves to believe is possible.

If we created the symptom with a decision, we are also able to release it with a decision.

As an hypothesis, we can imagine that someone makes a decision that it is not a good idea to express what they want. From that moment, whenever there is something they want, they keep themselves from expressing it, and therefore from having what they want. That feels not-good. The tension grows. They feel more and more not-good as they keep themselves from expressing what they want and not having it.

Eventually, something happens to create a symptom on the physical level, and their right arm is affected. It could have happened through falling from a ladder, or in an automobile accident, or by pinching a nerve in the neck, or by "sleeping in a draft."

Something had to happen on the physical level to create the symptom, in order to give the person the message on the physical level about what they had been doing to themselves. We do to ourselves literally what we have been doing to ourselves figuratively.

The effect is that the person cannot move their arm. They are keeping themselves from reaching for something, and since it is the right arm, on the "will" side of the body, they are keeping themselves from reaching for or going for what they want. They have been giving themselves reasons to not believe that they could have what they want. When they begin to do something different in their consciousness, they notice that something different begins to happen with their arm, and the symptom is able to be released.

Chakras And The Map

To understand the map of the consciousness that the body represents, we can turn to some ancient Hindu traditions which have been studying consciousness for thousands of years, and which use the language of the chakras.

Chakra is a Sanskrit word, and it means "wheel," or "vortex," because that's what it looks like when we look at it. Each chakra is like a solid ball of energy interpenetrating the physical body, in the same way that a magnetic field can interpenetrate the physical body.

The chakras are not physical. They are aspects of consciousness in the same way that the auras are aspects of consciousness The chakras are more dense than the auras, but not as dense as the physical body, but they interact with the physical body through two major vehicles, the endocrine system and the nervous system. Each of the seven chakras is associated with one of the seven endocrine glands, and also with a particular group of nerves called a plexus. Thus, each chakra can be associated with particular parts of the body and particular functions within the body controlled by that plexus or that endocrine gland associated with that chakra.

Your consciousness, your experience of being, represents everything it is possible for you to experience. All of your senses, all of your perceptions, all of your possible states of awareness, can be divided into seven categories, and each of these categories can be associated with a particular chakra. Thus, the chakras represent not only particular parts of your physical body, but also particular parts of your consciousness. When you feel tension in your consciousness, you feel it in the chakra associated with the part of your consciousness experiencing the stress, and in the parts of the physical body associated with that chakra. Where you feel the stress depends therefore on why you feel the stress. When someone is hurt in a relationship, they feel it in their heart. When someone is nervous, their legs tremble and their bladder becomes weak.

When there is tension in a particular part of your consciousness, and therefore in the chakra associated with that part of your consciousness, the tension is detected by the nerves of the plexus associated with that chakra, and communicated to the parts of the body controlled by that plexus. When the tension continues over a period of time, or reaches a particular degree of intensity, the person creates a symptom on the physical level. Again, the symptom served to communicate to the person through their body what they had been doing to themselves in their consciousness. When the person changes something about their way of being, they are able to release the stress that had been creating the symptom, and they are then able to return to their natural state of balance and health.

Reading The Map

When we are reading the body as a map of the consciousness within, we work with the idea that the tensions in the body represent tensions in the person's consciousness concerning what was happening in the person's life at the time that the symptom developed. The person was feeling stress about something that was happening in their life at that time.

We are going to examine the map of consciousness that the chakras provide, in order to understand the language of the symptoms that are associated with each chakra. In order to complete this map, however, we also need to look at ourselves as each a polarity of yin and yang, feminine and masculine characteristics.

For most people, their right side is their yang side, their will side, their acting or active side, and the left side is their yin side, their female side, their feeling or adaptive side. For people who were born left-handed, this polarity is reversed. Thus, for a right-handed person, their right leg can be described as their will leg, or their male leg, or the foundation of their will, but for a left-handed person, their left leg would be their male leg or will leg, and so on. Thus, we can talk about the will arm, or the will eye, or the will nostril, etc., and which side it is on will depend upon whether the person is right-handed or left-handed at birth.

Each of the chakras is energy vibrating at a certain frequency, in a logical and orderly sequence of seven vibrations. As we move up the scale, the elements become more and more subtle, moving through the five physical elements of earth, water, fire, air, and ether, to the spiritual elements of inner sound and inner light. The heaviest element is on the bottom, the lightest on the top. It is a logical and orderly sequence.

The colors of the spectrum also represent a series of seven vibrations in a logical and orderly sequence, as do the notes of the musical scale. Thus, we can put the heaviest vibrations or the longest wavelength on the bottom and the lightest on the top, and a particular color can be used to represent a chakra in its clear state, as can a particular musical note. Music played in a certain key vibrates a particular chakra, and we feel a particular way when we hear that music. Our relationship with a certain color says something about our relationship with the part of our consciousness that the color represents.

The Root Chakra is associated with the parts of our consciousness concerned with security, survival, or trust. For most people, this concerns the parts of their consciousness concerned with money, home, and job. When this chakra is in its clear state, the person is able to feel secure, be present in the here and now, and be grounded. When there is tension in this chakra, it is experienced as insecurity or fear. When there is more tension, it is experienced as a threat to survival.

Parts of the body controlled by the sacral plexus and this chakra include the skeleton system, the legs, and the elimination system. Symptoms in these parts of the body represent, therefore, tensions at the level of the Root Chakra, and we therefore know that the person is seeing the world through a perceptual filter of insecurity or fear. The adrenal glands are also associated with this chakra.

If one leg is affected, we can see whether it is the male leg or the female leg, and thus whether it has something to do with trust in a male or trust in a female. We can also see it as having something to do with trust in the will, or the aspects of trust in the foundations the emotional being, related to what was happening in the person's life at the time the symptom developed.

The physical sense of smell, and therefore the organ of the sense of smell, the nose, is associated with the Root Chakra. Symptoms at the level of the nose or affecting the sense of smell reflect tensions at the level of the Root Chakra.

Each chakra is associated with an element. The Root Chakra is associated with the element of earth, and reflects something about the person's association with the earth, or how they feel about being on the earth, which we call Mother Earth. This chakra is also associated with our relationship with our mother. When someone experiences a sense of separation from their mother, or not feeling loved by their mother, they cut off their roots and experience symptoms of tensions at the level of the Root Chakra until they can again open to accept their mother's love.

When a child comes into the world in the traditional family structure, the mother provides the nourishment and the father provides the direction. Thus, in the child's relationship with its mother, it makes certain decisions about the way things are. The relationship with the mother thus becomes a model for the person's relationship with everything that represents security - money, home, and job.

The Root Chakra is associated with the color red.

The Abdominal Chakra is associated with the parts of our consciousness concerned with food and sex - the communication from the body to the person within it, about what the body wants or needs, and what it finds pleasurable. It also is related to what is happening in their consciousness about having children. When this chakra is in its clear state, the person is in touch with this communication, and listening to and responding appropriately to what the body wants and needs.

Parts of the body controlled by the lumbar plexus include the reproductive system and the abdomen, and the lumbar region of the back.

The sense of taste is associated with this chakra, as is the element of water. When someone does not have a clear relationship with water (swimming, for example, or being on a boat), this reflects their attitudes about the parts of their consciousness that this chakra represents.

Tensions on the will side or the emotional side of this chakra indicate tensions in the person's consciousness as conflicts between either the will or the emotions with what the person's body is asking for.

This chakra is associated with the sense of taste, and with appetite. It is also involved with the person's willingness to feel their emotions.

The second chakra is associated with the color orange.

The Solar Plexus Chakra is associated with the parts of our consciousness having to do with perceptions of power, control, or freedom. In its clear state, it represents ease of being, and comfort with what is real for one's self - being comfortable with who you are.

Parts of the body associated with this chakra include the organs closest to the solar plexus - stomach, gall bladder, spleen, liver, etc. - as well as the skin as a system, the muscular system as a system, and the face in general.

The physical sense associated with this chakra is the sense of sight. Anyone with impaired eyesight experiences tension at the level of their solar plexus chakra about the issues of power, control, or freedom. Nearsighted people also experience tensions at the level of the Root Chakra, and experience the world through a perceptual filter of fear or insecurity. Those who are farsighted experience tension also at the level of the throat chakra, and see the world through a perceptual filter of anger or guilt. Astigmatics see through the emotional perceptual filter of confusion.

The endocrine gland associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra is the pancreas. We can say that diabetics are keeping sweetness from themselves. When someone gets too close with sweetness, they feel threatened in their power to be who they are, and an emotion comes up to create a safe distance again. The emotion is anger. Diabetes is associated with suppressed anger.

The element associated with this chakra is fire, and the person's relationship with the sun says something about their relationship with the parts of their consciousness associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra.

The color of the Solar Plexus Chakra is yellow.

The Heart Chakra is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with relationships and our perceptions of love. The relationships we speak of here are with those people closest to our heart - partners, parents, siblings, children.

The parts of the body associated with this chakra include the heart and lungs, and the blood circulatory system as a system. This chakra is also associated with the thymus gland, which controls the immune system. When this is affected, as with AIDS, the person's lifestyle separates them from someone they love.

The physical sense associated with this chakra is the sense of touch, in its aspect of relating to the person inside the body. For example, a massage given to someone with no sensitivity to what the person is feeling inside would be an example of the sensation we associate with the Abdominal Chakra, but when the masseur seems to have a sense of what the person inside the body is experiencing, then it includes the aspect of relating we associate with the Heart Chakra. When someone experiences extreme sensitivity about being touched, we would ask what was happening at the level of the Heart Chakra.

This chakra is associated with the element of air. When someone has difficulty with air, with breathing (asthma, emphysema, tuberculosis, etc.), we say that their relationship with air reflects their relationship with love - difficulty letting it in, or letting it out, for example

The color associated with the Heart Chakra is emerald green.

The Throat Chakra is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with expressing and receiving. Expressing can be in the form of communicating what one wants and what one feels, or it can be artistic expression, as an artist painting, a dancer dancing, a musician playing music, using a form for expressing and bringing to the outside what was within. Expression is related to receiving, as, "Ask, and ye shall receive."

The throat chakra is associated with abundance, and with the state of consciousness called, "grace," where it seems that what you want for you is also what God wants for you. Accepting what the abundant universe offers you requires a sense of unconditionally receiving.

This chakra is also associated with listening to one's intuition, and flowing in a particular way where it seems that the Universe supports you in all that you do. It is the first level of consciousness from which one perceives another level of intelligence functioning, and one's interaction with this other level of intelligence.

Parts of the body associated with this chakra include the throat, shoulders, and arms and hands. and the thyroid gland.

The sense of hearing is associated with this chakra, and the element of ether, the most subtle physical element, corresponding to what we find in deep space. The ether is the crossover between the physical and the spiritual dimensions. Someone looking at the world through this chakra watches the manifestation of their goals. The Will Arm represents manifesting what you want, and the Feeling Arm represents manifesting what makes you happy. Hopefully, the two point to the same thing.

Sky Blue is the color associated with this chakra.

The Brow Chakra is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with the spiritual view, and the home of the Spirit, the Being within. This level of consciousness is associated with what western traditions call the unconscious or subconscious, the part of our consciousness that directs our actions and our life. From this level we are aware of the motivations behind our actions. We can watch our outer theater from an inner point of view.

This chakra is associated with the carotid plexus, and the nerves on each side of the face, and the pituitary gland. Headaches in the temples or center of the forehead are associated with tensions at this level. This chakra controls the entire endocrine system as a system, and the process of growth.

The Brow chakra, also known as the Third Eye, is associated with extra sensory perception (ESP), the set of all inner senses that correspond to the outer senses, which together comprise spirit-to-spirit communication. The element associated with this chakra is a vibration known as the Inner Sound, the sound that one hears in their ears that does not depend upon something in the physical world. Some consider it a pathological condition. In some of the eastern traditions the ability to hear this is considered a necessary prerequisite to further spiritual growth.

The color associated with this chakra is Indigo, midnight blue, the color of lapis lazuli, or the color of the night sky during a full moon.

The Crown Chakra is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with unity or separation, and just as the Root Chakra showed our connection with Mother Earth, this chakra shows our connection with Our Father, Which Art in Heaven. At first, it is associated with our connection with our biological father. This becomes the model for our relationship with authority, and this becomes the model for our relationship with God. When there is a sense of separation from our biological father, the person closes this chakra, and the effect on the consciousness is a sense of isolation and aloneness, being in a shell, and difficult to make contact with those outside the shell.

The person feels as if they are hiding from God, or hiding from themselves, not seeing what is true for them in the deepest part of their consciousness, the part we call the soul.

This chakra is also associated with a sense of direction.

The parts of the body controlled by this chakra are the pineal gland, the brain, and the entire nervous system as a system.

The color associated with the Crown Chakra is Violet, the color of amethyst.

Using The Map

When there is tension in a particular part of the body, this represents a tension in a particular part of the consciousness, about a particular part of the person's life. Being aware of these associations helps one to see the importance of resolving the tense issues in their life.

If it were only a question of doing what is necessary for the person to be happy, that would be reason enough to motivate the person to want to change something that doesn't work for them, but here, we see that it is also a matter of health. The issues that are unresolved in a person's life are, in fact, hazardous to their health.

When we see the correspondences between the consciousness and the body, we see the degree to which we each create our reality. In fact, those words begin to take on a new meaning. We see how everything begins in our consciousness and we are able to look around us at other aspects of our lives in the same way.

When we see how the body carries out the messages and deepest wishes of the Being within the body, we can realize that the process can go in more than one direction. If our consciousness is directing how we develop symptoms, it can also direct how we release these same symptoms. If our consciousness can make our body ill, our consciousness can make our body well.

The logical conclusion of this process is that anything can be healed.

Copyright 1987 Martin Brofman

http://www.healer.ch

About The Author

Martin Brofman, PhD, created the Body Mirror System of Healing, and A Vision Workshop, as the result of his research into the body-mind connection, and from what he learned healing himself of terminal cancer in 1975. I went through a traumatic experience when I was younger. During that experience, I found myself at times feeling removed from reality also. Sometimes, when we are surrounded by lots of new stimulus and when we have a great deal of unusual, new and different things occurring within us, our perception of how and who we are can be removed.
Out-of-body experiences are commonplace among trauma victims - it is thought of by many as a form of protection from the pain of the trauma, or in relation to shock.

The point I want to illustrate here is that these out-of-body experiences and altered perceptions of our own reality are naturally occurring. Much research has been done on these experiences and we are all aware of the often told experience of people on operating theatre tables seeing themselves and similar types of experiences. Now, some people believe that it is simply our perception that is being altered and I do not want to get bogged down with what is scientifically actually occurring with these experiences.

I decided to investigate this. I believe that over the years, I have stretched the boundaries with what can be done with self-hypnosis and with the use of our minds and our altered perceptions. Out-of-body experiences (OBE's) are one of the more fascinating and so I thought I would share with you a real easy and simple technique for using self-hypnosis to have an OBE. Exciting stuff, eh?

So here are some simple steps to begin to get you more aware of yourself and begin to develop a basic skill: the ability to imagine your mind and body existing in two separate places. This exercise can psychologically prepare you for an OBE; ultimately it can also help you induce the experience at will.

Step One: Begin by being in a comfortable, quiet place where you are not going to be disturbed. Ideally, take yourself into self-hypnosis (go read my self-hypnosis book and learn how to use this life-changing skill).

Alternatively, tune into your breathing and your body's rhythm, engage in the moment and notice all you can with each sense about what creates reality for you in that moment. Relax your body, soften your muscles and be deeply still, yet keeping your mind totally alert. Maybe imagine a relaxing colour or warming currents moving through your body relaxing each individual muscle. Take the necessary period of time to do this - to get fully relaxed yet staying very alert.

Many people refer to this kind of trance state as focused relaxation. Many forms of mindful meditation get you in the same state - use whatever technique you find best to achieve a nice receptive state in your mind with your body nice and relaxed and still. As I have said in many previous editions of Adam Up, best not to do this lying on your bed because your unconscious mind associates lying on your bed with sleeping and you may subsequently keep drifting off to sleep every time you attempt this. You want to be acutely alert throughout this entire technique.

Once you have achieved a deeply relaxed yet alert physical and mental state, notice how it feels to be "inside" your body. Remember the last time that you looked into the mirror, recall exactly what you looked like from the outside and notice that your entire awareness is now inside that image. Notice the differences between being inside yourself and noticing yourself from the outside.

Step Two: In this nice receptive state, allow yourself to discover how it feels to "look" through your closed eyelids and how you can focus your attention on the world around you from "inside" your physical form.

Let me explain that a bit more - with your eyes closed, imagine the environment that you are in and imagine looking around it and exploring it from inside your mind. This is like oiling your mind, stretching it and beginning to get your perception to differentiate even further from being inside yourself and relating to what you have previously perceived outside of yourself.

Step Three: Really bring your awareness back inside yourself now, tune into your body and just imagine yourself gradually becoming smaller within your body.

Imagine that your body stays right in that beautifully comfortable position and you are getting smaller inside of it. With each of these steps, take the adequate and necessary amount of time to do this and really notice the differences in your perception and in your sensations. Be acutely aware at all time of what your experience truly is in each moment.

Step Four: Then, once again imagine your consciousness expanding out to fill the entire room.

Connect with the room or place around you, explore it and imagine pushing your awareness right out to fill every nook and cranny of the place. Become aware of the full expanse of the place you are in with your eyes remaining closed.

Step Five: When you have spent enough time doing that and really exploring pushing your consciousness out into the room, imagine yourself returning to your usual size, safely inside your body and take a deep breath. Quietly pay attention to the sounds and sensations that you associate with breathing. Connect with how you are.

Step Six: Now stay perfectly still and, as you exhale, imagine how it would feel to be a few centimetres above your physical form: imagine how it feels to be a tiny distance above your body. Imagine that you are simultaneously floating above your body and also looking up at your floating image from within your body. Allow yourself time to fully create these images in your mind. Then gradually begin moving your attention back and forth between the inside of your body and the point you envision a few centimetres above you.

Continue practicing until you're able to imagine floating above yourself for several minutes without straining. As with any physical and mental exercise, this takes patience, practice and time to get good at. Be persistent and stretch your brain and your imagination until you can do this for lengthier periods of time without having to strain too much.

Step Seven: Once you've accomplished this, then imagine your disembodied face looking back at your physical face, below. Practice focusing as little attention as possible on your body and as much as possible on the image of yourself floating above. Create as complete an image as possible until.-perhaps for only a moment at a time-detailed visual, sensory, and auditory impressions from this slightly altered perspective, so that the more you do it, the more it becomes vivid enough to seem real.

The sensation of looking back at your physical body from an independent location directly above it is one of the most basic and commonly reported forms of the out-of-body experience. Once you have achieved this perception, I recommend that you gradually shift your awareness back to the familiar sensations that you associate with your body. Tune in to your body in the position where it is. Wiggle your fingers and toes, go do something active and rigorous, have a snack and really get yourself grounded in reality - even consider going and doing something really mundane to tune into how it feels to be seated in reality!

Step Eight: After practicing this exercise, take a break for at least an hour. Then repeat the entire session from the beginning. But this time, maintain the image of floating for ten or fifteen minutes. Later, as you're lying in bed at the end of your day, imagine floating above your body as you fall asleep.

I also want to give you some additional steps when you are feeling advanced, only follow these steps when you have really become good, fluent and practiced with the previous steps for a few days and practiced a few evenings prior to sleeping:

Step Nine: For this exercise, use the same comfortable location you used for the first 7 steps and make sure you are going to be undisturbed. Lie down and induce a state of self-hypnosis, trance, meditative relaxation or whatever works best for you. As soon as you feel deeply relaxed, concentrate on the sounds and internal sensations that you associate with breathing, and once more tune in to the external world from "within" your body.

Step Ten: This time, instead of imagining that you're floating directly above your body, focus your attention on a specific location across the room. Imagine your awareness moving away from your body toward that slightly distant part of your environment.

Now imagine that you're a point of consciousness floating on the other side of the room, and that you're looking back at your body from this new and more remote perspective. Take time to allow this perception to form in your imagination, create and construct it patiently. Your mind may not be used to this kind of thing, so some of the mental cogs may be a bit rusty with this kind of exercise. Focus on this imagined experience in your mind's eye, do your best to capture the details with input from all five of your senses - notice the images, sounds, feelings, tastes and smells.

Step Eleven: After a few minutes of doing this, shift your focus to a completely different part of your immediate environment. Allow the details of this new location to fully form in your imagination as the impressions associated with the earlier location slowly dissolve. Maintain this new focus for several minutes before gradually shifting your attention back to your body.

So basically, you are now pin pointing locations in your immediate environment with your eyes closed, using your imagination and creating images of yourself being there. Then you are moving between the two positions and altering the perception and stretching your awareness and perception. The more you do it, the more you tune in to the sensations of what it is like to really be in that place and the more likely it is to be an out-of-body experience.

As you perform this exercise, take the time to create images that are as vivid as possible. The more detailed your images, the more likely you will be to have an OBE.

After practicing this exercise, break for thirty minutes or more. Then, if you feel like it, repeat this exercise and continue to focus your perceptions at increasingly greater distances from your body. You may repeat this procedure up to three successive times. Remember, no matter how many times you repeat this exercise, patiently take all the necessary time, the results are diminished when you rush. Have some fun, practice this real beginners technique to having out-of-body experiences.

Have a go at really getting metaphysical and see how your perception of the world and of yourself can really be altered when you separate your mind and body in this way.

Adam is a best selling author, consultant and speaker please visit his website for a vast range of personal development resources and to receive your free, instantly downloadable hypnosis session and amazing ebook: http://www.adam-eason.com
