so the best argument for debunking this “conspiracy theory” is claiming that anyone who believes it is a jobless fringe wacko leftist hippie crackpot freak loser waste of oxygen?

I don’t know about you, but a diatribe like that makes me think maybe there’s some truth to this whole “conspiracy” thing.

how about presenting the facts and letting people decide from themselves? here’s a start:

*the prototype for the ev-1 was delivered to gm for less than $3 million. http://ev1.org/

*the california ZEV mandate, for which the ev-1 and other electric cars were built, was finally “killed” in 2002 (under pres bush) with automakers bringing a federal lawsuit. http://www.pbs.org/now/shows/223/electric-car-timeline.html

*the ev-1 was never offered for sale – gm even refused a cash offer of $2 million for the last 78 cars that absolved them of any liability. they went on to destroy the cars instead. http://ev1.org/

*despite gm’s “liability” concerns, toyota sold the last 328 rav4-ev to the public in 2002. almost all of these cars are still in use today, many with over 100k miles and still getting over 100 miles to a charge with their NiMH batteries. http://evnut.com/rav_owner_gallery.htm
