We think of going to God when we are sick or in financial trouble, but he’s often not a resource when we get stumped in a situation where we need wisdom and knowledge.

Why not make Him the first stop on our journey for information. After all He is the source of all knowledge.

The next time you are driving to class, ask God to show you marvelous things as you listen to the lecture.

When you are about to walk in to the house to service the appliance or meet the client at BigBucks Coffee, or dealing with your three year old’s behavior – ask God to help you with what you cannot figure out on your own.

I have a bad feeling that this video is a very funny illustration of what God hears most Sundays from a lot of people.

Tomorrow we finish our Cow Tipping series with the whole church gathered at Theater in the Park. We have enjoyed this series as we have been tipping some “sacred cows” questioning our traditions in the light of truth.

We bent our creative pieces toward the cartoon/South Park motif. Wes, our video guru found a website that will create a South Park like character for you in high resolution. We then recorded a dialogue between Troy and Dan and pitched their voices and created the following rumors for each week.

All dreams and goals get resistance. The bigger the dream the greater the resistance.

From Joseph, in the Bible, to Thomas Edison – both of them pushed against resistance to their dreams.

Joseph – despite his brothers and parents making fun of his dream, still held to it and saw it unfold.

Thomas Edison – persisted through 1,000′s of failed experiments. Every failed attempt was just fuel for him to push forward and create the light bulb.

If you have a dream, when you feel the urge to resist – it’s time to persist.

There will always be people there to discourage you. Negative Nancy’s always camp out on the porch of dreamers.

Things will always not go as planned. People won’t see what you see. Doors will close.  It is only those who ignore the resistance and pursue their picture of what could be who see it turn into what will be.

To turn a could be into a would be means:

• Seeing the need.
• Picturing what could be
• Identifying the resources that are available.
• Push through the resistance in pursuit of what will be.

What dreams in others are you resisting? Are you playing devils advocate? (Which is more accurate without the “advocate” – just saying

There is something mysterious about God. A Being that is unknown and only has 66 books revealing Himself to mankind, presents an amazing and troubling mystery to those He has created.

Yet, in this mystery – our Creator wants us to know Him. We are made for His glory, to bring Him glory – but most of all, God, who already knows everything about you, wants you and I to know Him.

I want you to show love,
not offer sacrifices.

More than He wants to see us doing religious routines, God wants us to discover Him. If your religious routine doesn’t reveal God to you, you are just performing for yourself.

What areas of your spiritual life are just routines and not helping you discover more of God?

Our life group went to Hillcrest Transitional Housing and celebrated 2 ladies birthdays.

I love how our life group has adopted these ladies and have taken it upon themselves to make them feel special.

Acts 4:13 The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.

It was undeniable to those persecuting Peter and John that they had been with Jesus.

When we have been with Jesus, not only will we have the courage to step out in faith, like when Peter and John stepped out in faith in Acts 3 to heal the Blind man, but we will have courage to step into persecution like in Acts 4.

Courage comes when we have been with Jesus.
