And now with the RedDot Design Award winning Revolver they have done it again. Kata is well-known for their top-quality products, with outstanding protection of expensive equipment using ultra lightweight materials. Their newest offering, the Revolver 8-PL, Kata has given photographers the comfort of a backpack, with the ease of access of a sling.

This bag has it all. No really. It does. Every problem I can think of with carrying gear in a backpack is solved. It has the two-shoulder weight distribution of a backpack with the accessibility convenience of a sling. The wonderfully nifty revolving compartment (which revolves quite easily) gives easy access to gear regardless of which side you open it from. (pro-tip - evenly distribute the load for ease of turning). It holds enough gear for a professional level shooter's needs but works wonderfully for the casual shooter as well (additional lens slots can be used for snacks and whatnot while the stretchy strap holds them neatly in place).

the latest introductions.

NEW YORK, NY – Manfrotto Distribution, world leader in the
equipment and accessories industry for imaging, brings a stellar lineup of Kata products to the
PDN Photoplus Conference + Expo in New York City. A broad array of Kata introductions in
both the Pro-Light Series (Bags designed with the protection, capacity and features required by
professionals) and the D-Light Series (Kata quality and protection for casual photography) will
be on display at the expo. All introductions include Kata’s signature lightweight protection with
the use of new materials and innovative design elements.

“Missing a shot is not an option,” said Doug Feldner, Product Category Manager “and Kata’s
Lightweight Protection ensures that your gear is ready while minimizing the wear and tear on a
body caused by carrying too much weight.”

Pro-Light Revolver 8 – 2012 Red Dot Design Award Winner Changes the Game in Photo
Backpacks
Joining the ranks of Kata’s innovative designs, the Revolver-8 (KT PL-R-8 - $249.99 Street
Price) is a completely new concept in camera bags. When in the field, photographers must grapple with the problem of quick access to their accessories, especially lenses. Camera access with the Revolver 8 is easy via a quick open top compartment. The real magic of the bag lay in the
revolver type magazine in the lower compartment of the bag.

With an
opening on either side of the bag, this revolver spins to make any accessory
in the compartment quickly accessible. Quickly get to your accessories
without putting the bag down or searching through the compartment. This
feature is especially handy for those carrying an array of lenses in an active
shooting environment. The Revolver 8 is designed for a DSLR with grip and
standard lens + 70-200 + 16-35 + 50mm + 100mm macro lens, and up to
15.4" laptop.

Santa Rosa, Calif. – Think Tank Photo announces that in November it will add two new

laptop-carrying sizes to its “retro” Retrospective® shoulder bag line: the Retrospective 40

and the Retrospective 50. Designed for the professional photographer that wants to remain

inconspicuous in any situation, their retro look mixes "Old-School" with "New-School"

that is a throwback to the days when bags where visually simple but highly functional.

The Retrospective 40 is perfectly suited for pro-size DSLRs with a pocket for most

13” laptops and the Retrospective 50 holds pro-size DSLRs with a pocket for 15.4” laptops.

Both bags accommodate a 70-200 2.8 attached to a pro-size body. The large front pocket

provides an optional divider for an additional two pro-size bodies or for documents

“With broad appeal, the Retrospective series has quickly become one of the leading

bag collections in the industry,” said Doug Murdoch, Think Tank Photo CEO and Lead

Designer. “Working pros to vacationers all will find the Retrospective 40 and 50 to be the

most useful and functional bags for a day’s outing.”
