This is footage from a recent camping trip I took with my friends to the North Georgia mountains. Although I wish I had more footage (my camera died), I am happy with the video and its somewhat dark and moody feel.

I wish I was still an avid poster of videos. I used to have my camera attached to my hand, however, it's been months since I've turned it on.

While I ride MARTA or am hanging out with friends, I still think silently to myself "that would make a great shot!," only now it never seems to get captured, let alone uploaded.

I am not quite sure what happened. Maybe it was the influx of online videos and the proliferation of YouTube, the "everyone is doing it, so it's not cool anymore" phenomenon that made me quit capturing my precious video clips.

I managed to ostracize myself from the vlogging community, and I am certainly regretful of that. I am sorry to my (as of now nine) subscribers, and mostly to myself. I got out of the habit of recording small segments of my life and sharing them with you all, and I doubt I will ever be able to resurrect this video blog to its former "glory."

I am pursuing a degree in Film and Video at Georgia State University, however, it seems to be sucking from me all of my video-making passion, my urge to find that one-of-a-kind camera angle, that rush I used to get when I would share unique never-before-seen occurrences.

I am blaming a university, when I should be blaming myself. I let that thrill die, that fragile spark disappear. I hope that I can somehow get that back, for if not, I have lost an innate part of my being, one that I would be saddened to see, after all these posts, vanish.

This video is from a little summer trip to Hilton Head Island. I don't know, I hope it turned out good- I think something that messed me up was that I was just taking videos instead of thinking of the end result, or something like that. I tried to be really careful with the level of sounds in the videos so they wouldn't cover up the song.

This video has been in the works for a little bit, the tornado was a little while ago and things are pretty much back to how they were before. The tornado made me think about the movie Koyaanisqatsi: "life out of balance", which inspired the music by Philip Glass.

During Thanksgiving break we drove to Tampa, didn't get to do anything really except stop at truck stops but it was neat to get to visit another state for a little bit.

(Some) truck stops have good food, I'd recommend the cheese sticks or pancakes!

medieval times

Medieval Times field trip- the bus ride, the entrance, the dinner show. They gave us vegetable soup, garlic bread, a chicken, half a potato, a rib, a cookie and 2 rounds of
(very medieval) Pepsi. The show was pretty well rehearsed, I was a little quiet during it though and at one point felt sorry for all the animals having to perform but they seem to treat them well.

It would be neat to go back sometime but tickets are pretty expensive, I think around $47.50 for adults depending on which "castle".

The Good Life concert at The Drunken Unicorn with opening acts Erie Choir and Zookeeper. The Good Life were really good and the opening acts were great too- it was hard to cut out too much footage. I hope it isn't too long, it gives you a real feel for the concert and their music I hope.

apple store opening

We went to the Apple Store grand opening at the Mall of Georgia and got there about 8:30 and were some of the first 40 or so in line for the 10:00 opening. We got our free t-shirts! They exchanged my clogged Mighty Mouse no problem, I think I was the first person to exchange a Mighty Mouse!!!

My camera died right after we got into the store, I wish there could have been more in-store footage and footage of the shirts.

This trip actually took place before Chicago (at the beginning of June), I think I tried putting this off because there really wasn't much going on during the trip, all I really saw was the hotel room.. but I tried out a few effects, it actually didn't turn out how I expected (but things never do).

Even though this was only two months ago, I was looking back when I was editing like "I don't remember that!" Ahh... how things slip slip our minds.

Chicago is a great city, all the people! I really enjoyed riding on the subway, watching everyone get to their destinations. We were gone for a little over a week and I took about 400 small video clips, some of the things included are the Sears Tower, the Chicago subway, a Chicago Fire game, a White Sox game, downtown Chicago, the Apple Store Chicago and many other little stops.
