Fairy Friday

This is a new feature of my blog. I decided I liked the Tarot Tuesday and wanted to do the The Faeries’ Oracle by Brian Froud & Jessica Macbeth as well. It’s great to learn new things and this is such an amazing oracle that I could help but to start this feature. I’ll be doing it the same way I do the Tarot. Each week (and we both know it won’t be EVERY week) I’ll pull a new card and we’ll discuss it. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment here with them! Enjoy!

the Singer of Intuition

Description:

This is a beautiful Faerie of Light! Her purple & blue gossamer wings look like a rainbow rather than anything you can touch. If you saw her in the corner of your eye you’d think you were just seeing a light shine in your eyes.

Elements:

Perceptiveness. Oracular powers. Awareness. Trust.

Interpretation:

This is the card that tells you to listen to your inner self, your intuition, your hunches, your instincts. Trust in yourself and the universe to know what it is your looking for. Like looking at tea leaves or clouds in the sky, this card is open to your personal interpretation. You know what it means, you know what answer your going to find, just trust in that knowledge. In a reading it illuminates the other cards in the reading, again you need to trust yourself and the universe in knowing what to do. Reversed: The Singer reversed means that you are not listening to yourself enough. Figure out how to be quiet and listen to yourself and the universe.

Wishcasting Wednesday – What Do You Wish To Have?

Then along with others that are doing the same thing, we all visit each others blogs and make the wish for each other. This is a powerful chain of wishes. What Do You Wish To Have?

This week, Jamie asks us what do we wish to have? This isn’t necessarily an easy question to answer. Mostly because there are lots of things that I’d like to have, but are they what I would “wish” for? There are things that I”m currently working on getting/accomblishing already. Would I wish for those things? Would I wish for things that I couldn’t accomplish on my own or that are such daydreams that they may never come true? I just don’t know… I guess, when it comes down to it, I would wish for all of those things. The things that I can’t get without help, the things I”m currently working on, and the things that are so far out of reach that they are mere fantasies. So here is my list as it stands right now. In no particular order.

The new HTC EVO droid phone. I’ve already pre-ordered it and will get it on June 4th. So that’s in the works.
A Successful business that will afford me to travel, spend more time with my family, and not worry about money any more. My busisness isn’t quite there yet, but it’s growing.. so it’ll be there eventually.
Time.. more time. This is a bit far out of reach really. Just because you have no control over time, just what you do with it.
All my bills paid off, I’m definitely working on that one already.
A Cobalt Blue Porsche 911 – that one is almost out of reach.. but it’s possible
A bigger house where the boys can each have their own room, Steve & I can have a nice big master suite, there’d be an office, a nice garage, big living room, big kitchen, and somewhere we could have a poker table! LOL This one is doable… just don’t know when.

Gods Thursday

So here I go with another weekly posting of something Wiccan. It’s a great way to keep fresh information on my blog and it’s also a great way for me to learn new things as I go along. One of the things I like to do is find interesting Gods and Goddesses. So Thursdays will be God’s Day, and Saturday’s will be Goddess Day. Where each week (yea I know, probably not EVERY week) I”ll give you a new God to learn a little something about. I hope you’ll enjoy it and learn a little something with me.

Egyptian God Bes

I will normally post a picture of a statue or painting of the God that I chose to write about. However, Bes, is a naughty little guy and I couldn’t find a picture of him withOUT a huge… ummm…. male appendage sticking out. And although I’m not a prude, this isn’t the blog that I’m uninhibited with my sexuality on. LOL! (See Wyndsong Writes for sex toy reviews) So, ya’ll will have to deal with a verbal description of this honey little devil!

Appearance:

Bes is short, deformed, and ugly. Usually depicted with a large falace at least the same size as the rest of his body. Often shown with bowed legs, long beard, and his tongue hanging out. Also shown with full face instead of a profile like most Egyptian gods.

Fertility, childbirth, protection, humor, Beltane,

About the God:

This is one of the more unusual Gods since he is the only God that is a protector/helper of childbirth. All the others are Goddesses. Supposedly he not only protects the mother and child during childbirth but also encourages the child to “Hurry Up and be born, it’s fun out here”. He is usually considered a household god and protects those within the house from evil spirits. Which is why he is so ugly. One of the best ways to ward off evil of any kind (illness, black magic, etc.) is with laughter. Just looking at him and his big… “Thang” will make you want to laugh for sure.

Tarot Tuesday – The Horned One

Tarot Tuesdays

Tarot Tuesdays have become one of my favorite days to write on this blog. I know I haven’t been terribly consistent, but it’s been great for me. By looking at one card a week, I’m stretching my knowledge and my ability to read the Tarot. There wasn’t anyone who commented (specifically for the contest) last week, so there isn’t a winner. I guess if anyone wants a free tarot reading they can contact me about it and I’ll consider doing one for them. If not, well… se la vie!

The Horned One

Description:

Pictured at night in the forest, under a large full yellow moon in the top right corner and a large orange ball, presumably the sun, in the bottom left corner. The Horned One (also known as Cernunnos, Pan or the Devil) stops the two naked lovers in the forest.

Interpretation:

An acceptance of that which cannot be proved, or the learning of the existence of that which cannot be proved. An awakening of faith. Like Death & the Tower, these experiences are usually painful, bu their result is eventually seen to be worth the pain. Reversed: Bondage to form – especially a recognition of that bondage and a desire to be free. A search for understanding of that which cannot be proved. Second Degree Initiation. A recognition of yourself beyond your gender – awareness of God within.

My Interpretation:

This is the card of the God, be he within or without yourself. God has come into your life, has some form of control of it, and is guiding you or stopping you, to do something. This is the time that you need to be aware of your inner deity and the connection to the Universe. Whatever struggles you are going through will be worth the reward in the end.

Meaning Monday – Familiars

Welcome to all the Hordes of Pagans from Mrs. B’s place! Thank you for stopping by my humble abode! My Craft name is Kendra, my twitter name is Wyndsong (and my other craft name, LOL!). I thought I’d introduce myself and my blog to you here. Please take a look around and enjoy yourself!

I consider myself a Conservative Christian Witch. I know those are probably strange combination to you, but if you click on the various links you’ll find out more about Why I call myself these things. I am also a Homeschooling pagan of two pagan teenaged boys. I am raising them pagan. I was teaching a Wicca Class, but that has gone by the wayside lately. I also do weekly (or almost weekly) Tarot Tuesdays, where I explain one card in the Tarot deck that I pull at random. I’ve also stared doing a weekly, Meaning Monday, which is a remnant from the Wicca Class, where I give you a definition from Wicca or Paganism to learn. I’ve been toying with the idea of doing Faerie Fridays, but I have yet to start that up yet.

Other than those topics, you’ll find me ranting about a movie or tv show that hasn’t put Wicca or Paganism into a very good light. Or maybe some joke or cute story that I was told by a friend or fellow blogger. I’ve written a few articles on various Gods & Goddesses, including making a couple of them up.

Tarot Tuesdays & Blogoversary!

Thanks to Teena in Toronto for commenting on yesterdays post for reminding me that today was indeed our blogoversary! We, being Pagan Witch.com not actually me, are 7 years old today! wow!!! I can’t believe I started this website 7 years ago today. It’s been through a few changes since I first started the site. In the beginning it was just a regular HTML site, with my short stories, poetry and some articles on it. It was I think, two years ago that I changed it into a blog. It’s a much more dynamic and fluid type of website being a blog. I can do a little more with it, and I like it better. so there! LOL!

Four of Swords

Description:

This is a young man dressed in all red (or maroon) sitting on the floor with four swords placed hilt to blade in a square formation.

Interpretation:

Constructive action, effective action, building, putting in order. Will put into order to become useful. Energy now has a project to be directed to. Reversed: Action accomplishes nothing, tyranny. Building overdone – parking lot replaces trees. Querent used action instead of thought. Next time, think first, and if the best thing to do is nothing, do nothing.

My Interpretation:

I see a man with lots of plans. Someone who is willing to take action, isn’t afraid of what others might say and is willing to risk failure to achieve his ultimate goals. He’s readying himself for his future, even if sometimes that is meditation (sitting and doing nothing), he’s doing whatever it is that he needs to do to take those next big steps.

So, since I didn’t really know about my blogoversary coming up and I didn’t plan on it, I thought I’d do something special anyway. So I thought I’d do a little giveaway! How does a free tarot reading sound?

Meaning Monday – Divination

1. the practice of attempting to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge by occult or supernatural means.

2. augury; prophecy: The divination of the high priest was fulfilled.

3. perception by intuition; instinctive foresight.

According to Ecclasian teaching, “Divination is the process of asking the Gods for advice or guidance”. There are many different “types” of divination, but they all boil down to this one thing…. connecting with Deity for advice or guidance. Which means everything from meditation or prayers to Tarot and Runes are forms of divination.

This brings me to the two forms of divination or types of divination. The first is when you receive direct communication from the spiritual world or deity. This often happens with meditation, prayers, or channeling. The second form is through indirect communication or “accidental happenings” where something that occurs in a specific way means something to you. Such as shuffling cards and pulling them out, or runes falling on a cloth, or tea leaves. All methods involve some communication with the spiritual world or deity.

Meaning Monday – Aspects

as·pect [as-pekt] –noun

appearance to the eye or mind; look: the physical aspect of the country.
nature; quality; character: the superficial aspect of the situation.
a way in which a thing may be viewed or regarded; interpretation; view: both aspects of a decision.
part; feature; phase: That is the aspect of the problem that interests me most.
facial expression; countenance: He wore an aspect of gloom. Hers was an aspect of happy optimism.
bearing; air; mien: warlike in aspect.
view commanded; exposure: The house has a southern aspect.
the side or surface facing a given direction: the dorsal aspect of a fish; the northern aspect of the house.

From Ecclasia’s Teachings:

Forms, facets, or personas of Deity: for example, Brighid, Iseult, Eos, and Kore are all aspects of the Maiden, and the Maiden is an aspect of the Goddess.

In Wicca, an Aspect is generally used in refrence to the God or Goddess. An Aspect of the Goddess would be the various Goddesses that you find through out history and from every culture. Each Aspect of the Goddess is different in some way. You’ll find aspects of the Goddess who are protectors of children or women, those who are huntresses, and those who are guardians of a particular virtue.

One of my personal favorite Goddesses or aspect of the Goddess is Ma’at, the Egyptian Goddess of Truth & Justice. I found out about Ma’at when researching her for a Goddess report I was doing for my Wicca Class. I knew I wanted to write about a Goddess of justice, being a Libra that was important to me. I had never heard of Ma’at before, which I also liked. The more I read about her, the more I liked her. I now have a statue of her (and one of Anubis who is said to be her mate) for my altar.

Most people find an affinity to one specific aspect of the Goddess & God. Sometimes you are called to that aspect by a dream, vision, or just out of curiousity & research. However you find a Goddess or God that you feel close to, even if it’s just for a short time, is the “right way”. There are also some people who never feel a special bond with any specific God or Goddess, and this is alright as well. There is never a right or wrong way to worship or believe. So if you don’t feel a calling to any one aspect, don’t try to force it. Let the God & Goddess come to you, eventually one will feel closer to your soul than others, when the time is right for you.
