So I have been attempting this dating thing as of late. Funny enough, turns out that it is not working out so hot.

Shocker.

Beyond the initial, “hey, wanna make out?” stage, I am finding myself becoming easily frustrated with the women I have been debating for two key reasons.

1. Take Some Initiative

I love to talk, and I am really good in most social settings at initiating conversation about… anything. It’s my gift that I honestly use to the fullest extent. This just so happens to work out great when getting most women too, so win-win for me.

But damn ladies, I can’t keep initiating the conversation. At some point in time you have got to buck up and say something first, there is only so much legit topic starters I can come up with before the well runs dry and all I can come up with is word vomit.

Seriously, a text from y’all first that day simply saying, “hey, wats up” would be quite nice instead of me having to do it everyday.

Is that really asking for much?

2. Jealousy Much?

I talk to men and women, a lot of men, and a lot of women. I am friends with both sexes, and I often times hang out with both sexes.

I see no issue with this.

BUT, *shocker* turns out most high school chicks really aren’t cool with their “men” talking to other “women”.

Get over it.

Let me talk to whoever I want to talk to, and if you have a problem with it, I simply don’t know what to tell ya ladies. Chances are the people I am friends I have liked and been friends with longer than I have known you. This means you default lose.

K, there is my criteria. Rant over.

Last night, I left a comment on Louis Gray’s buzzified post about him moving to the cloud. One of the problems he brought up about the move to the cloud was his steady dependance on MS Office to get jobs done, so I brought up Acrobat.com.

Tyler Romeo said that while Acrobat is neat, he is still a Google fanboy and will probably end up ignoring Acrobat. The comment I left on Buzz after his comment pretty much sums up my thoughts:

I am a google fanboy as well, but I can honestly say I think gdocs is the most epic amount of office suckage I have ever seen. Why companies pay for it I have no idea, but I bet you their employees are still regularly using MS Office somehow.

I love you Google, nuff’ said.

I am finding that MG Seigler’s posts are more often that not, poorly thought out, actually, the whole blogosphere as a whole as of late seems to have lost their collective sense.

That aside, let me proceed to explain to all of you why even though you can access porn any time your heart desires through Safari, Apple is not being hypocritical in any form or fashion.

Why?

Because the intent of Apple providing Safari is not to exclusively let you browse sexy/nude pictures of women/men. The overall intent is to allow people such as you, and me, on their platform, to browse the web as a whole, knowing full well that, yes, people might go and look up some porn.

Now, let us look at the intent of the developers providing nude and sexy applications on the iPhone platform. Their intent is to make a quick buck off of partially clothed/nude naked women or men. Whether this is morally wrong or not is moot in this case, it is simply a fact that this is the sole purpose of these type of applications, unlike Safari.

ONCE AGAIN, Safari is not there, nor advertised, to exclusively access porn. That is not the intent of Apple providing a browser on their platform. Unlike the various applications that were banned from the app store.

Here, I’ll even provide a bit more evidence that it’s all about intent that makes the difference.

Remember when everyone was up in arms that the infamous Pirate Bay was going to be shut down? I do, and do you also remember when people went nuts over the fact that Google could also be turned into a torrent search engine?

I remember that as well.

And do you remember when people were wondering why Google wasn’t getting in trouble?

Bet you remember that too! Maybe intent has something to do with it.

Here’s the thing, the Pirate Bay was all about encouraging piracy, hell, they had a page dedicated to lawsuits they received and published the insulting responses. Google, on the other hand, never once encouraged, much less promoted lawsuits and piracy on the front page and encourage users to download illegal content. Sure, Google is aware that searchers do occasionally search for content that is from illegal sources, but Google’s intent with search is not to provide illegal torrents, but to organize the web, which yes, can be used inappropriately. Just like *gasp* Safari.

So, get off your high horses about Safari letting you access porn but the App Store will not, just because Apple has an app that lets you access porn, doesn’t make them hypocritical.

So guess what I am doing since I am such a damn awesome friend!

I am writing for thenextweb.com/us every other day. Now, it is a little different blogging for an actual network that actually pays bills by writing articles which drive traffic, and I can honestly say I really don’t know how to write tech news in a “let’s drive traffic,” sort of way.

Expect me to be a bit rusty. Like… really rusty, cause now I actually need to apply the laws of grammar to my writing or face the wrath of Zee. That means my writing will be awkward for a couple of posts until I find my rhythm.

Figure y’all deserve a warning ahead of time.

ON A SIDENOTE, read me, cause I am awesome.

Many schools block social networks that are even remotely Facebookish in nature.

At my school, lesser known social networks such as Simler and Cliqset are blocked under the social networking category. Thankfully, e-mail has been spared the filter due to the fact it is deemed by many schools as a “professional” way to communicate with teachers as well as send papers home when the need arises.

How long will this be though?

As Gmail leads the forefront of mixing social networking and email, others will follow, and you can be sure that eventually, students will be using them. To a public school, this is simply not tolerable since social networking in nearly all of its forms are deemed to be “scary” and a “distraction.” I mean, my god, a kid won’t find a way to distract themselves in some other form or fashion on a computer if you block Facebook!

So my question is, will schools start blocking e-mail? It is inevitable if social and email continue to mix the way it is now, public schools are still much too fearful of social media, and god only knows what some crazy parents might say if schools allowed such activity within an email application.

What do you think? Should high school students be worried that one day, their email access will one day be no more?

Dolphin is, dare I say, a sophisticated browser. It is fast, light, and really makes me want to browse the web on my G1, much like Safari makes you want to surf the web on the iPhone.

Ok, I am done with my daily whoring, check it out!
