PaleyFest: Bones Creator Hart Hanson on a 2-Season Pickup, Those Extra 4 Episodes

Page Shared - To say the last year of Bones has been an unconventional one for a network drama probably wouldn't do it justice.

'Bones' Showrunner Says Season 7 Episode Count and Schedule Still Up in the Air
In addition to the onscreen revelation of the lead characters pairing off after six seasons of sexual tension, production of the seventh was sidelined by star Emily Deschanel's real life pregnancy, cutting the episode count and splitting the run into three parts. Throughout all of this, creator Hart Hanson has relinquished day-to-day showrunner duties to EP Stephen Nathan to launch spin-off The Finder.

This has prompted a lot of confusion over the immediate (and long-term) future of the series -- something Hanson helped clear up.
"There are rumors that they'd like to pick us up for two seasons, we'll see," he tells THR. "But I feel very, very confident about Season 8. If I think about Season 9, my head starts to hurt."
That's not to say he doesn't want it. When asked how far he'd like to see his series go, Hanson was looking well beyond just one more year.
"I'd like season 10," he says. "After that, there would have to be another huge change in the series. But I can see through to season 10. Who knows if they want us that long or not."
Inside the series' panel, Hanson confidently echoed his thoughts on a renewal. "We're going to get Season 8 and possibly 9," he told the crowd. "There's always the business side... but in many ways, Bones is Fox's most successful hour-long scripted drama."

For its part, the network has gone out of its way to squeeze as much out of Bones' abbreviated, chopped-up seventh run as possible -- but when Fox president of entertainment Kevin Reilly confirmed an addition four episodes to the scheduled 13, it did create some confusion over where they would end up.
"Our episode 13 is our big season finale," Hanson tells THR of the episode currently filming. "And then there are four episodes that exist separate of the run that are going to run air... we don't know when. Whether it will be over the summer or salted in with next season, we have no idea. Those four episodes have to exist on their own. They have to be separate from each other and separate from any arc. As a result, they're weird. We kind of did some weird things."

Nick Braun, Alison Brie, Brandon T. Jackson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jay Pharoah are set to co-star in the film, which Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher of Double Feature Films are producing.   
CBS Films’ Maria Faillace and Ryan Conroy are overseeing the project, which begins production in Los Angeles on March 12.

Page Shared - It's fashion match time! This time the theme is BLUE. We're talking Smurf blue but with the extra added bonus of swirlies galore. (Who doesn't love a little fancy filigree?) In one corner we have the delectable Katy Perry who, in our humble opinion, kind of OWNS blue.

Who else can rock an azure-hued 'do with an electric cyan ensemble while also tossing some essence of pale sky onto her eyelids like it ain't no thing? Answer: NO ONE. Unless, of course you're the lovely Jennifer Lawrence, who's about to kill (literally) in the upcoming film The Hunger Games and also in a netted royal blue swirl dress that is kinda risqué but also completely interesting. Both ladies wore similar looks by celebrated design duo Viktor & Rolf, and we can't decide who wore them better.

Miss Perry has a lot going on with her Paris Fashion Week ensemble, but we like it. She, too, has a dress with black netting that allows a lighter shade of blue (close to the shade of her hair) show through underneath. She tops the mostly black dress off with a bright satin indigo coat that features a rounded collar with black swirls. And it doesn't stop there. The hair is a vivid blue, the eyes are a smoky blue, and the suede pumps are a nice touch of ultramarine. It's an EXPLOSION of cerulean. But is it all too much?

Miss Lawrence goes for a more subtle look with her People's Choice Awards dress. It's a stealth attack of sapphire. The swirls of her dress are larger and more pronounced, but they seem alive and crawling up her bodice. We like the sense of movement and how the blue of her dress pairs nicely with a light tan. Unlike Katy, there is nothing detracting from the dress, either. Her shoes are simple, strappy black heeled sandals, and her eyes, like Katy's, have a hint of blue to them but are more heavily lined than smoky. All in all, it's a solid look, but is it enough?

Carrot Almond Cake

ingredients:
170 g sugar
125 ml olive oil
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 chicken eggs
2 pieces (220 g) carrots, peeled, finely crushed, squeezed
125 g ground almonds
80 g of raisins
1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel lemon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Sift together:
150 g flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
topping:
50 g sliced almonds
1 tablespoon powdered sugar, sifted

How to make:

Prepare a round baking pan 22 cm, polish butter and sprinkle with flour.
Beat sugar and oil until sugar is dissolved.

Add flour mixture and stir well.
Add the carrots and almond powder and stir well.
Add raisins, orange peel and lemon juice and stir well.

Fried Tofu a la Pi-Pa

Ingredients:
1 piece out of water, finely chopped
50 g shrimp, peeled, chopped
1 piece hioko mushrooms, chopped
10 g green onion, thinly sliced
1 egg
2 tablespoons flour miazena
1 tbsp plain flour
1 tablespoon corn starch

Sauce:
20 g of vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
1 tsp sesame oil
75 g pakchoy, blansir
1/2 tsp dark soy sauce
1/2 tsp sugar

How to make:
Mix the know, shrimp, mushrooms and green onions with salt 1/2 teaspoon, pepper 1/2 teaspoon, chicken broth, sesame oil, and egg stir until evenly distributed.
Add 1 tablespoon of sago, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, wheat flour 1/2 tbsp in one direction and then stirred until uniform.
Fried dough out to form a round memnajang until browned and dry both sides. Remove and drain.
sauce:
Cook the chicken broth 1 teaspoon, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, sugar 1/2 teaspoon, until boiling.
Add a little then add the sago so thick black soy sauce. Lift.
Place tofu in a bowl, give pakchoy, pour the gravy.
Serve warm.

Sharing Recipes - Crispy Fish Fillets

Ingredients

1 egg
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups instant mashed potato flakes
1/4 cup oil for frying
4 (6 ounce) fillets sole

Directions

In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg, mustard, and salt; set aside. Place the potato flakes in another shallow dish.
Heat oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
Dip fish fillets in the egg mixture. Dredge the fillets in the potato flakes, making sure to completely coat the fish. For extra crispy, dip into egg and potato flakes again.
Fry fish fillets in oil for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
