Wüstenblume – A Fanbook For an Award-Winning Movie

Today, we published another fanbook on SnipClip:

It contains seven video scenes and one commentary from the new and award-winning movie Wüstenblume! The movie tells the story of a nomad girl becoming a topmodel. If you watch the video collectibles of the fanbook you get an impression of the story and the movie. So, have fun with SnipClip!

Design Hotels and SnipClip Take You on a Road Trip

Yesterday, we published a new Design Hotels fanbook on SnipClip! In my opinion, it’s the most beautiful collector’s book we have created so far. It takes you on a road trip throughout Europe and introduces you to some amazing Design Hotels in Spain, Germany & Switzerland, and Austria & Italy. The first slide (page) contains eight collectibles featuring luxury hotels in some of Spain’s most exciting cities.

Collectors, who complete the Roadtrip Spain Fanbook until September 31, enter a sweepstake to win two nights at the 5-star luxury Hotel Claris in Barcelona, Spain! So make sure to participate and complete the collection in time.

The Design Hotels AG represents over 170 luxury hotels in 40 countries. To become an official Design Hotel, hotels submit a member application and get certified. An official Yearbook showcases all member hotels and with help of SnipClip, Design Hotels now also offers an online collector’s book. This is available to all Facebook users and the almost 3000 fans of Design Hotels in the social network.

The Design Hotels Facebook fanpage also features a new SnipClip tab. Here, fans of Design Hotels (and only fans!) can click on the Design Hotels fanwall to get additional collectibles.

Additionally, collectors may also visit the Design Hotels’ web pages of the featured Roadtrip hotels in order to advance with their collection and discover more snips!

SnipClip Publishes Teabook on Facebook and MySpace

Usually, the coffee consumptions at startups is huge. In this case, however, SnipClip is really an exceptional case. Sebastian and Oliver drink no coffee at all and I have coffee very rarely. But we all love tea. Lots of tea.

So, it seems obvious that we should publish a tea collection. And – trombone please – here it is!

This so called Teabook is sponsored by allmyTea, a German website that allows you to mix and order your custom tea. The first page of the Teabook shows the seven basic tea ingredients, each collectible provides a brief description.

Get your own Teabook on Facebook or MySpace. Everyone completing the Teabook by July 31th, automatically participates when allmyTea is raffling off five “Luftige Erfrischung” teablends.

SnipClip Is Online

Today was an exciting day. First, we pitched at the EXIST Venture Forum. There were about ten venture capitalists, e.g. Earlybird, Holtzbrinck, SevenOne, Target, High-Tech Gründerfonds, Creathor, DuMont and others. Thanks to Stylight, EXIST, CDTM, LMU EC, Gründer Regio M and b-neun, who organized the event!

Second, we launched SnipClip on Facebook and MySpace! There are three fanbooks for:

Big Buck Bunny – a funny open source animation movie
Flavian – a swiss musician
Design Hotels – the most beautiful hotels in the world!

There will be new fanbooks and a lottery on Monday! So stay tuned and have a good time!

Handelsblatt Published Article About SnipClip

The German economy magazine Handelsblatt published an article in its today issue about SnipClip and our idea to promote and monetize brands in online communities through the sales of virtual collectibles. The author also quotes a consultant from Vivaldi Partners that there will be many creative ad formats in the near future, especially during the world soccer cup 2010. Lets see if there will be a SnipClip soccer fanbook next year! If someone knows somebody from the FIFA, let me know! And have a good time!

Steve Ballmer Puts SnipClip On His Presentation

Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, visited the FH Köln in April and conducted a presentation about Microsoft. He also mentioned BizSpark and “Unternimm was.”. The corresponding slide showed the logos of the “Unternimm was.” startups – including the SnipClip logo!
