A harness to address basic needs of wiring for a basic hot rod. It consists of all black wire that is color striped and printed for identification along it's complete length. Black wires make the harness less conspicuous in open cars. The Gen IV Tach Driver converts the crank signal From any 2007 and up General Motors Gen IV 58X crank Wheel V8 engine to a signal readable by most aftermarket Tachometers. This gereration of ECM's do not have a tach output.  Simple four wire hookup with power, ground, signal in and signal out. No cutting of fuel injection wire harness required. The Tach Driver will work with any aftermarket tachometer that is 12 volt negative driven.

PAINLESS HEAVY DUTY DIGITAL POWER MANAGER

The Digital Power Manager is a weatherproof solid state dual battery control unit that automatically engages an auxiliary battery when a large enough load is place on the vehicle’s main battery. The unit will not allow the electrical loads on the main start battery to drain the auxiliary battery resulting in a stranded situation for the driver. This system uses our High Amp Jump start solenoid to allow every possible amp to be used to restart the vehicle. It will allow charging of the auxiliary battery only after the main is fully charged. No manual switching or second guessing with this system.

This years Power Tour ran from Cocoa Beach, Florida to the Motor City, Detroit, Michigan. Painless was once again the cruise night sponsor for the first night of the tour.

 60127 was designed for any LS1/LS6 engine owners that want to move their coil on plug coils off of their valve covers and over to the firewall or inner fenderwell. This kit includes two 24” pigtails that plug into the existing coil harness and inline connector giving you that extra length to do so.

The C.S.I. harness is a universal weather-proof engine harness providing wiring to accommodate the Charging, Starting, and Ignition of just about any non fuel injected engine. Wiring from the engine to the gauge cluster is even included.

Vehicles that left the factory with carbureted engines are at this point in time at least 24 years old; in most cases they are much older. During the life of these vehicles, the engine wiring has seen hundred s of thousands of heat cycles, the wear and tear of use and  owner modifications. There is no doubt problems with these circuits are usually the first of wiring woes. The C.S.I. harness is the Painless solution to repairing damaged wiring on these carbureted engines.

We are indeed working on a 4.0L harness, however it is designed to work with our PERFECT Engine Management System, not the stock ECM.  We are in the process now of fine-tuning the calibration although we are not anticipating being in production prior to year-end.  ECM calibrations require testing in a variety of road and weather conditions and we won't release it until it's right.  We'll post updates here so you can follow the progress.

Yes, we are also working on a chassis harness for the Jeep YJ.  We are currently in a prototype stage and would estimate another six months before first run production.  Again, we'll post the progress here.

It's a common misconception: battery not charging properly?  Buy a bigger alternator.  It can also be a very expensive mistake.

Typically, higher amperage alternators generate those amps at higher rpm.  The result is lower amperage at lower rpms.  PowerStar Alternators solve this.

What is the appeal of PowerBraid?  First of all is the look.  Unlike traditional convoluted tubing, PowerBraid does not have that hard plastic look.  The best description is that it looks like braided hose and it really dresses up an engine compartment.

As the popularity and usage of diesel engines has exploded in recent years, so has the aftermarket for products increasing the performance and efficiency of these engines.  A number of manufacturers - some well-known, some garden variety - now offer such products, some making competing, even conflicting, claims.  Who to trust?

One of the key benefits of Striker over many other products on the market is that it is not a downloader.  A diesel module which downloads a program onto your vehicle's ECU leaves a signature there - even if you delete the program.  This could have serious implications for your warranty.

The Striker line also contains such innovative (and needed) products such as Striker TT and Striker FE.  The Striker TT is highly recommended to extend the life of your turbo.  The most common cause of turbo failure is improper cooling when the engine is turned off.  Striker TT (Turbo Timer) will keep the engine running up to five minutes after the ignition is turned off to allow the turbo to cool and drain.  You just set it and forget it.  You'll never have to try to "remember" to let your truck idle for awhile.

The Striker FE is purely for fuel economy. It is precisely tuned for the optimum setting for the best fuel economy in a particular engine, typically 2 to 3 miles per gallon.  You'll also see a performance increase in the 45 HP range.

First up, new from Painless are our PowerStar alternators and starters.  These aren't just any off-the-shelf, run-of-the-mill alternators, either.  PowerStar alternators are made exclusively for Painless by Powermaster to address a specific need: maximum output at low rpm.

Many car owners with fuel injected vehicles find that when they are running accessories such as air conditioning, electric fans and other amperage consuming devices, their battery is unable to handle the load when cruising at low rpm.  Some even make the mistake of buying a high amp alternator to fix the problem.

But the problem isn't the maximum amperage output of the alternator, it's where that output is generated.  Having 140 amps at 3,000 rpm isn't going to do you a whole lot of good if your alternator is only putting out 30 amps at idle.  Chances are, if you're running a lot of accessories (especially if you have fuel injection), you'll drain the battery if you idle around for any length of time.

The 15 HP gain over the stock set-up is a real seat-of-the-pants improvement in the vehicle's driveability and performance.  The best thing is that it's the easiest HP gain you can get for your 5.0.  Just plug it in and go.

We have a lot of open orders for the 4.6L and we want to notify you that we are probably 16 weeks out on having these ready to ship.  As soon as dyno work is done we will be conducting driveability and validation testing.  We don't just run these on the dyno.  We put them in real cars and subject them to real world conditions.  That way we are sure when you install it, it is truly plug and play.  We thought you'd rather have it right than early.

Unfortunately, the connectors to the computer are exclusive to Chrysler and are not available to purchase for the aftermarket.  There are some manufacturers out there who offer a Hemi harness, but it's just not our thing to take used harnesses and recondition them for resale.  If we can't make it a Painless design then we stay away from it.

So until those darn connectors are made available to aftermarket suppliers such as us, we're afraid a Hemi harness will simply remain on our "to do" list.

We knew PERFECT would strike a chord with our customers.  What the market needed was not another carburetor-to-fuel-injection conversion kit.  Nor was the here, program the ECM yourself approach something people were clamoring for.  Who was addressing the needs of the customer who already had a fuel injected engine and simply wanted to run it with maximum power and efficiency in a transplant environment without having to earn an advanced degree in computer programming first?  No one that we could see.

I ought to know because I bought one by mistake, and the guy won't take it back without a 20% re-stocking fee.  I should have known better.

We took care of Oscar and made arrangements to get a genuine Painless harness to him since we abhor seeing people taking advantage of our customers.  We post this as an advisory to anyone seeking to purchase a Painless wiring harness.  Because we are the number one manufacturer of automotive wiring products, a whole slew of imitators and wannabes have risen from the swamp.  You don't see us comparing our harnesses to anyone else and proudly saying we're "just as good as so-and-so."  Yet you see countless others comparing themselves to Painless, even going so far as claiming to be Painless. 

We've said before that a wiring harness is a lot more than 12 or 18 circuits and a bundle of colored wire.  What matters is the engineering, the design and the quality of manufacturing.  That's what you're paying for.  You're taking a great and unnecessary risk saving a few dollars by putting an inferior wiring product in your vehicle.  It's just not worth it. 

We are not particularly merciful to those who prey upon our customers and this particular predator has been shut down.  To avoid this happening to you we suggest you simply call us and we'll direct you towards an authorized Painless dealer.

The new Painless Mopar wiring harness has passed the final design review and is now scheduled for production.  This harness is designed for 1966-76 Chrysler muscle cars and features a mini micro-fuse block and Chrysler color codes.

We anticipate having the harness in stock around early February. The first production run will be limited in order to work out any potentional quirks from design to manufacture, so if you're waiting on this harness we suggest you contact your Painless dealer right away.  Demand has been exceptionally strong and the first run will sell out quickly.

The part number is 10127.   

Well, when that ad was produced back in September (due to long lead times with magazines) it was confidently projected that this harness would be available around the first of the year.  Our normal procedure is to have the engineering group sign off on any "available now" type ads so as to avoid prematurely announcing something is available.

Well, this time we did not follow proper procedures with the result unfortunately being that it came back to bite us.  The LS2 harness will not be available in January.

Ordinarily we do not make this mistake as we know how frustrating it is for you to be waiting on a product to complete a project only to find after months of waiting that the product is "still in engineering."  We sincerely apologize for our error.

There are two issues remaining before we can bring this product to market: throttle by wire and VATS.  We are very close to resolving these issues but even if we did so today the harness would not realistically be in production next month.  (There are test fixtures, assembly boards, trial fitments still to be done.)

Barring anything unforeseen developing, we believe we can safely say this harness will be on the market by April 2006.

The most exciting new developments from our perspective are the new PERFECT HI-RPM fuel injection management systems.  These new kits consist of a wiring harness and ECM and a hydraulic roller camshaft.  The ECM is dyno-matched to the cam profile, resulting in awesome performance gains.  For example, the PERFECT HI-RPM LS1 produced a whopping 409 HP and 407 lbs/ft of torque.  That's nearly a 40 HP gain over the stock set-up!  

The great thing is that you don't have to worry about getting the stock computer reprogrammed.  We do all that for you with an ECM dyno-matched to the camshaft.  PERFECT HI-RPM Systems are the perfect way to up the power in a fuel injected engine.

You'll see PERFECT HI-RPM systems for GM's LS1, LS2 and LT1 as well as Ford's 5.0L and 4.6L on the market in the first quarter of 2006.

For those using the stock computer, you'll appreciate the new PERFECT Systems for 5.0L and 4.6L Fords and LS1 and LS2 Chevys.  Even running bone stock engine, you'll see impressive performance gains with PERFECT.  The PERFECT 4.6 picked up 35 HP with no other engine mods.  The PERFECT 5.0L showed a 15 HP gain and the LS2 produced an amazing 430 HP and 428 lbs/ft of torque in an otherwise stock engine!

For you Chrysler fans, you'll be pleased to know your long wait is over: in 2006 you'll see a new chassis wiring harness made specifically for 1966-1976 Mopar muscle cars.  This harness features Chrysler color codes and a modern micro fuse block.

We should have known better. 

Rodders from across North Texas came together today in a display of generosity that in any other venue may have been surprising, but is quietly routine among the car community.  At the end of the day total receipts from registrations, donations and the auction came to approximately $15,000.  With matching funds from SEMA, that will equal nearly $30,000 in aid to victims of Katrina.

If you're reading this you are probably an automotive enthusiast.  You should be very proud of the company you keep.  The people who came to Painless today can only be described as amazing.  Although the cars were beautiful to behold, everyone who came knew they had come for a greater purpose: to help fellow citizens in need.  Many ignored the $20 registration fee and wrote checks or gave cash far in excess of what was asked.  But the highlight of the day was the auction, where bidders sometimes increased their own bids to drive prices up.  It didn't matter if the item was a bag of potpourri, a collection of sea shells or a nitrous system - the bidding pushed up prices until the auction alone raised nearly $9,000.

The people who came today came with a purpose.  And that purpose was a quiet determination to help others, whom they did not know and probably never would know or meet.  But in a certain and truer sense they were doing what only came natural to them out of an inate kindness and a communal goodness that required no acknowledgement, asked no recognition and accepted no reward.  A friend they had never met, a neighbor they had never seen needed help.  That was all the spark they required.

I am trying hard not to be overly effusive here, but it's hard.  When, at the auction, one wonderful woman wrote out a check that greatly exceeded what had been the winning bid, it was obvious what we were witnessing here was not a mere car show or an auction but an affirmation - no, a resounding confirmation - of the human spirit.  People came and gave and quietly drove away.  There's no doubt their giving is not done.

On the drive home I passed a motel that is providing temporary housing to evacuees from New Orleans.  In a gazebo near the street a half dozen people gathered as sunset approached.  They have been there every evening for a week now.  Were they aware of what just had transpired less than half a mile away, how strangers had come together to show they care?  Does it matter? 

Probably not.  What matters is that America cares,   that we all do what we can to help our neighbors in a time of need.  Whether those in the gazebo knew why all those hot rods were rumbling by during the day is unimportant.  Every day across the country people gather at car shows, sports events, schools and churches and private gatherings to help others.  It's what we, as a people, do.

That's all that's important. 

So we've purchased a 23" color TV which we will raffle off at the Rodders for Relief show this weekend.  Tickets for the raffle will be a dollar each and all proceeds will go to the Interstate Street Rod Club to help their friends in the Gulf.  Further, we will have a separate donation booth set up for people who wish to make donations directly to support rodders in the Gulf.
