At the beginning of Spring I looked at my garage wondering what was missing. I wanted to add a little something special to customize the four wooden walls with a roof. What the 70’s are back? I am loving all the fun and groovy prints from the past. Retro wallpaper…….what a great find!

I believe wallpaper somewhere in the home unifies paint colors and adds a little special something. Wallpaper From the 70’s offers a variety of fun prints ranging from floral to abstract wallpaper selections.

A Season Full Of Color

More nature photos to inspire you! Here in Michigan it is a beautiful day and we are finally approaching warm weather. Outside becomes our interior space in the summer to work, laugh and play. I like to gather photos to inspire me on color that I can incorporate to the interior space for special reminders of this season.

Harbor Springs, Michigan is my favorite spot of all time. A relaxing place to visit…. full of relaxing colors to see.

Take a color field trip to the outdoors. This is a great place to get inspiration. Take note of how nature puts colors together. Really zoom in and see how many colors are in one small area. This is what we can do with are living spaces as well. Look at a sunset, walk a mountain side, or just simply visit your very own backyard. I would encourage taking your camera and snapping a shot. This will give you a starting point for paint color and lead you to other components of the room such as fabric colors and furniture wood samples.

A past story…. I can remember a customer wanting nothing to do with the suggestion of black walls in her dining room. I told her let’s get it painted. If she hates it I will pay for her to get it re-painted. She took me up on the dare, and has loved her dining room ever since. My philosophy on the black walls is not that it closes you in, but makes the walls recede back. Just think about the night sky and how vast the area looks compared to daytime. It is a thought next time you are out taking a walk at night. It might take a few more coats, but go ahead and try it…If you dare!!!
