Our pair team members enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer at the hydration station on local trails to show support to the bike commuters and riders from around the Pittsburgh area.

It was a great day to show our support to the local bike community in support of safer streets and continued improvement on bike amenities throughout the city of Pittsburgh.

At pair, we strongly encourage biking, public transportation, and walking as ways to get to and from work, and in employees’ personal lives. We stand by Bike PGH’s mission to transform our streets and communities into vibrant, healthy places by making them safe and accessible for everyone to bike and walk. The Carnegie Science Center established the Carnegie Science Awards program in 1997 and have since celebrated more than 350 accomplished individuals and organizations.

We enjoyed participating in the event and lending our support. Congrats to this years awards recipients!

Even though our commitment to the natural environment is a year-long affair, we see no harm in celebrating a little more.

In honor of Earth Day 2013, all pair employees were encouraged to participate in various volunteer initiatives in their communities.  This initiative is something that we promote year-round through our Volunteer Days Program.

And we’d like to take this time to give a shout out to Bethany, an awesome pair employee who recently received recognition for her outstanding efforts from the Clean Pittsburgh Commission.  Bethany organizes and participates in local community clean-ups and garden projects that truly make Pittsburgh a more beautiful place.

Back at the office, it’ll be business as usual – celebrating the Earth & being the best at getting better.

Not to mention, all of the proceeds benefit The Montour Trail, a multi-user non-motorized recreational trail near Pittsburgh, PA. The trail system connects to the Great Allegheny Passage & stretches over 330 miles from Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C.

Since 2004, all proceeds of the South Side Soup Contest have supported the Brashear Association and operation of its food pantry program. The Brashear Association’s food pantry provides food and other commodities to over 1,000 low-income individuals and families every week at its two pantry locations in the South Side and Arlington areas of Pittsburgh.

The South Side Soup Contest was a tasty way to warm up & we’re happy to show our support again this year. And congrats to Piper’s Pub, the 2013 Best Soup Winner!
