I have a question for you this morning and I hope you’ll help me out. It has to do with JV events and how useful they really are. They are almost always useful for the contributors, but how do you feel as a member? Is it worth you time?

My regular readers know that I love JV events. It was an internet marketing giveaway (Easter JV 2007) that first hooked me three years ago and I still love to go through them and check out all the cool stuff. I don’t mind joining lists because that is one of the best ways to find the systems and teaching styles that work. Lately, though, something has been driving me nuts: everyone is recycling the exact same products and identical bonus pages. Here’s a fictionalized example:

I sign up for Tom’s list in order to download the Best Affiliate Ever ebook. After I receive my confirmation email, I am sent to a page with three bonuses. These are free products, but they each take me to a new page to sign up for another marketer’s list in order to download. I realize that this type of piggybacking really works from some marketers. However, I’m sick of seeing it.

Do you think that traffic and list-building opportunities provided by a giveaway event should be enough incentive for marketers to create their own information products? Even if they simply repackage, reorganize or rewrite PLR, at least they are offering a unique-looking product. Have marketers have just gotten plain lazy about JV events?

On the other hand, should we just stick with the “you get what you pay for” mantra? What can you expect for doing nothing more than signing up for a mailing list? And a mailing list that will most likely help you, at that. Once you sign up for a list are you then offered awesome, original products?

I really want to know what everyone thinks about this. Are you sick of recycled JV products or are you okay with seeing the same thing over and over again? If you use giveaway events to build your list, do you create original products or just use a free download as-is? I’m looking forward to the feedback on this.

If you have been an internet marketer or blogger for long you’ve most likely either created your own product or reviewed another marketer’s. If you have, then you’ve probably heard that when you are discussing features of a product, you should focus on the benefits of the features. Don’t just tell your prospects what the product does, tell them what it can do for them.

One of the most overlooked – yet highly crucial – benefits out there is transformation. Most people who begin to invest time building businesses online are looking for some sort of change. Whether they are looking to overhaul their entire lifestyle or just make a few extra bucks, they wouldn’t be checking out internet marketing if they weren’t looking for something new and/or different in their lives.

Change – especially positive financial change – is a huge motivator for most folks. Think about it: Would you be reading this blog if you weren’t looking to learn something new and possibly change your life?. I didn’t think so. In fact, I started this blog for that very same reason. You can’t assume much about your blog readers or product prospects, but you can safely assume they are interested in some form of transformation.

So how do you make the features of your product or the articles in your blog scream transformation? Keywords, of course. Your product name, report title or article headline should make it clear that what the buyer will receive is something that will change his/her life for the better. This should be a uber-clear benefit of one or many product features, if not the primary benefit.

When it comes to change, people want to learn from someone who has already successfully completed the transformation they wish to undertake. You can write a report entitled How to Go From Minimum Wage to Maximum Paycheck in 30 Days, but you shouldn’t write it unless you actually achieved what the report promises. Let’s say you have a plan that took two years to perfect in order to quit your day job. You have written your plan up as a thirty day action report and you’re sure it will work. But what if it doesn’t?

It is important to let your prospects know that your product will help them change their lives, but it is just as important to make sure that you are not over-promising. It would be better to write up a six-month action plan and have some buyers complete it in three months than to guess that your plan takes 30 days when realistically it is closer to 90. When in doubt, over-estimate and over-deliver.

When writing a report that is targeted at newbies, it is important to remember that they most likely do not have a full work week to devote to your roadmap. They may have just a few hours a week to spare. Just make sure that when you write up the timeline, you don’t promise overnight riches unless your plan actually creates them. And I haven’t found an overnight plan that works yet. If you have, let me know!

Let’s review, the three things to remember when creating products for customers who want to change their lives are:

Internet Marketing Prospects Long for Transformation

Use your Title/Headline/Product Name to Express Change

Never Promise Something your Product Cannot Deliver

If you keep those three basics in mind, you should be able to attract prospects seeking change and sell them a product that truly helps them to transform.

You get what you pay for, right? Well, not exactly. Freebie Jeebies is a site that allows you to sign up for a single offer, refer others to offers and get free electronics. It has been tested and reviewed by many people online (just Google it). The biggest problem is that some people don’t follow directions, then they think they’ve been scammed. Nope.

Here’s how it works:

You sign up and complete a free offer – the ones at Freebie Jeebies really are free

You’ll get a referral link to send to your friends and blog/twitter/facebook/etc. readers.

Once you have signed up the required amount of people, your account will be verified. This is to be sure that you aren’t just playing the part of all your referrals.

Your item will be sent

I’m starting small. To get a Nintendo Wii I need 9 referrals. I’ll walk you through how it worked. I chose the item I wanted and entered my email. I was sent an email to verify my address and my browser redirected to a page with free offers. I had to choose one to complete. Some were free and some were as much as $25.

The offers are not extensive, but chances are you can find something you don’t mind signing up for. It ranges from game sites where you can play for money and a bidding site to Blockbuster’s deliver service and website hosting services. Be sure you read the details carefully. There is a credit card offer that requires you to apply and be accepted and a drive backup service that you must pay for a month of service after the free trial for the order to be considered completed.

I signed up for Livedrive. It’s an online backup service out of the UK (where Freebie Jeebies is based) that offers a free 2-week trial. You sign up without a credit card, but will need to continue to your first paid month in order to complete the offer. This I don’t mind because I’ve been meaning to try out various online backup services.

When you click on a referral link (like mine: Freebie Jeebies) you will be taken to a page where you can pick your gift. However! once you sign into your account you will be able to see all the gifts available and how many referrals you will need to receive that gift. You can select any gift you want – anytime up until your referral quote has been reached and your gift sent – or even request a custom gift. Very cool.

Here are some of the other gifts available currently:

$100 Amazon Gift Card – 6 referrals

iMac 21.5 inch monitor, 3.0gGHz Intel Core 2 Duo – 44 referrals

Bluetooth Headphones – 3 referrals

iPhone 8GB, 3G – 16 referrals

Blue Ray DVD Player – 20 referrals

Dyson DC19 Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner – 8 referrals

Acer Aspire One A150-Bb Netbook – 13 referrals

I could go on forever! It all looks so cool. I sure don’t mind paying $10-25 for a frickin’ awesome gadget. If you don’t either, it’d be awesome if you’d use this link: FREEBIE JEEBIES

Frank Kern is giving away his mind-clarifying video Core Influence for free. This live presentation is nearly two hours long, but you will not be bored. Believe me, when I saw the length I wasn’t sure how long I’d stick with it, but I was immediately pulled in.

Originally included in his Mass Control Marketing course, Core Influence is the one item Frank considers to be the most helpful – out of everything he has ever released. In Core Influence, he traces his path to internet marketing success:

The whole point in showing you this is not to tell you about my personal history. It’s to emphasize what one moment of decision can mean to a community and, possibly, to the world.

The idea behind this video is to get you to suspend your disbelief and realize that you personally can contribute to and benefit from the internet marketing community – and, really, it applies to any community. Not only is this video extremely entertaining, you will learn a ton. When I finished watching it I felt completely pumped up and ready to succeed.

Core Influence is an excellent investment of time and I hope you’ll feel the same way. Once you opt-in to receive the video you’ll receive an affiliate link. If ten people use your link to see the Core Influence video then you get access to the all-new Core Influence 2.

So go register so you can watch the video anytime online, you don’t want to miss this:
