eConnect is the largest Global ‘Meet-Me-Room’ for Voice and Data Connectivity, linking the major regional Telecom Hubs around the World. Epsilon’s reach extends to over 50 Global Telehouses, enabling access to approximately 1000 Operators and Service Providers, 270 of which are already pre-connected to the network. A network backbone of robust and low latency coupled with quick and effective deployment of new services ensures quality of service and speed of delivery to the customers.

Mr. Adnan Asdar Ali, CEO, Multinet said: “Multinet is working towards taking Pakistan’s fixed telecommunication market to the next level of operational and business efficiency.

Epsilon Managed Presence, ePoP, offers international and domestic Carriers to rent multiplexing facilities to host their incoming bandwidth, distributing it to the desired network partners without the need of having physical co-location themselves. This reduces costs in regards to CAPEX and ongoing maintenance support.

eConnect and ePoP are now widely deployed across the main Telecom hubs globally and the expansion into Pakistan will provide the desired platform to reach out to the growing demands of customers in South Asia.
Telenor Pakistan, in collaboration with Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP), a disabled people’s organization (DPO), helped bring together representatives of 23 DPOs at the ‘First National Virtual Leadership Conference of Persons with Disabilities’ on the eve of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The conference — which centered on the theme ‘Keeping the Promise: Mainstreaming Disability in the Millennium Development Goals Towards 2015 and Beyond’ — served as a platform for Pakistan’s disability leaders to discuss issues related to persons with disabilities and to align their development goals.

Director Corporate Communications & Responsibility, Telenor Pakistan Anjum Rahman speaking after the conference said: “It is heartening to see all the prominent leaders of persons with disabilities come together for the common cause of mainstreaming Pakistan’s disabled community. Telenor Pakistan has been consistently working toward the inclusion of persons with disabilities into society through various initiatives under the umbrella of its ‘Khuddar Pakistan’ program, and will continue to do so. I hope that our combined efforts will help Pakistan in achieving its MDG commitments in the times to come.”

CEO and President, Special Talent Exchange Program Atif Sheikh appreciating Telenor Pakistan’s support said: “This year on International Day of Persons with Disabilities there is a need to ensure that persons with disabilities are integrated into all development activities. While through combined efforts the movement for a rights-based society has gained momentum over the last two decades, a national plan of action is still lacking. The ratification by the government of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will help the disabled community work towards achieving Pakistan’s MDGs.”

The video conference, the first of its kind, was held at Telenor Pakistan’s offices in Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Quetta.

Ideal for business professionals on-the-go, the LG VL600 features high-speed 4G internet connectivity, a lightweight design with a flip USB cover and sleek outer finish that makes traveling a streamlined, enjoyable experience. By just connecting with the LG VL600, customers in the 4G LTE service area can expect high speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps (megabits per second) on download and 2 to 5 Mbps on upload for high quality multimedia content, more than 10 times faster than 3G.

“It is really exciting for us to be releasing the first LTE USB modem with Verizon Wireless, who is aggressively leading the commercialization of LTE services in the world,” said Jeff Hwang, President of LG Electronics MobileComm USA, Inc. “And for LG, this is just the first step. Along with Verizon, we’re committed to making LTE products faster and ever-more innovative, ensuring that LG stays at the forefront of developments in LTE technology.”

The LG VL600 boasts a 4-color LED Service Status Indicator and supports major operating systems including Windows？ XP, Vista and Windows？ 7. It has a built-in antenna and is both extremely light (50 g) and compact (98.5 x 37.6 x 14.7 mm).

Since the early stages of LTE standardization in 2004, LG has been leading the development of LTE technology. LG succeeded in developing an LTE chipset in December 2008 and demonstrated the world’s first handover between a 4G LTE-enabled mobile device and an LTE-CDMA network in 2009. In 2010, LG further cemented its leadership in the next-generation mobile communications market by successfully demonstrating an LTE world-record download speed of 100 Mbps at CES 2010.

It holds the status of backbone for country’s telecommunication infrastructure despite the arrival of a dozen of other telecom companies. PTCL maintains leading position in Pakistan as an infrastructure provider to other telecom operators and corporate customers of the country.

Etisalat took PTCL management control with 26% shares in 2005. From that onwards PTCL has revolutionized itself from a government entity into a progressive and dynamic private organization. It is the fastest growing service provider among all high speed service providers in Pakistan.

Today PTCL is one of the largest employers in the country with its work force spread all over the country to provide essential service to the people of Pakistan. The company’s new products and innovative schemes promise a bright future for Pakistan’s telecommunication sector with PTCL committed to be the link that allows global communication.

It operates is one of the most dynamic, deregulated and competitive markets in the world.
It is not just the field of technology and development in which PTCL has excelled, its engagement in corporate and social activities, particularly in education, health and social development and human resource development has also increased manifold.

Etisalat is the first and the largest telecommunication company in the UAE. Established in 1976, the company enjoys a reputation of regional leader in telecom sector, being a cutting edge telecommunication company with the most updated technology and sophisticated business practices of over 34 years. The company provides telecommunication services not only in the UAE market, but also has its operations outside UAE through its subsidiaries and associates in eighteen countries.

With Etisalat contribution and support PTCL has achieved what we only dreamt of. PTCL has evolved tremendously as a company after Etisalat took over the management control. Public opinion about the company has also seen a positive growth. Today under Etisalat patronage PTCL is exploring new horizons in telecom sector while implementing most ethical business practices. With the consolidation of Etisalat group of companies, we feel there are lots of opportunities available for growing and launching more innovative services.

Since the last few years PTCL has laid special emphasis on giving Value Added Services (VAS) to its customers. PTCL has always been consistent in providing value added services to the broadband portfolio.

It has introduced WiFi modems with its DSL broadband services which gives the customers the amenity to move around where ever they want and stay connected through the wireless high speed broadband service, In addition PTCL introduced Quad Play, a complete communication solution offering voice, high speed broadband internet, Smart TV service and a home surveillance camera security solution as well.

In comparison with most of the broadband services, PTCL takes pride in being the fastest DSL broadband with its services available in over 1000 cities and towns nation-wide. PTCL Broadband service recently achieved another milestone by introducing a new 10Mbps Broadband package to its existing Broadband packages. The reach of PTCL Broadband that spans across the length and breadth of the country, coupled with the affordable packages, today makes PTCL Broadband the obvious choice for people looking for high speed internet in Pakistan.

This is the fastest and widely available data service in Pakistan. This launch has not only practically made EVO the fastest mobile wireless broadband service in the country but has also given Pakistan the status of being the first country in the world to launch this service commercially. EVO 3G Nitro has revolutionized the three simple steps to high speed On-the-Go connectivity, Just Plug in—Click—Connect with its unprecedented speed of up to 9.3 Mbps based on EV-DO Rev B 3G CDMA technology. PTCL telecommunication infrastructure consists of around 2000 telephone exchanges across Pakistan providing largest fixed line network and on top of it also part of major submarine communication cable networks.

Providing the best services in the country PTCL offers the line rents and local call charges, that are the lowest in the region and it continues the rationalization of tariffs in line with international trends. The company has invested in many innovative products and services. Telepresence, Audio and Video Conference Call, I-sentry and Data Centers are few of the latest services that ensure seamless business connectivity to the corporate business partners.

In short PTCL is partnering with innovation, investing in training and human resource and enhancing its infrastructure, thus evolving further continuously into a dynamic progressive organization that is exploring new horizons in the field of information and technology under the vision, patronage, business foresightedness and expertise of Etisalat.

Etisalat’s accomplishments and position as a regional leader have always been an inspiration for PTCL. PTCL can achieve much more by exploiting the group’s strengths that has not as yet truly utilized the synergies of the group. With time and further implementations of PTCL on going strategies and business policies, together PTCL will be able to provide more diversified and innovative services for our customers and set higher goals for others to achieve.
