My idea was to have a local presence so I had to come up with the idea to advertise myself in a different way then to just give people business cards or some other printed material. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that, but I wanted something more effective. So, I went to John to help me achieve that goal. He made me a custom logo and then put it on both sides of my car as well as on the windshield together with my phone number. John made a great job and I get many compliments on how my car  looks amazing!

Client: Cape Coral Plumbing Ft. Myers

Cape Coral Plumbing is a local business operating from the Billy Creek industrial park here in Ft. Myers and they serve the Lee County area with plumbing services for various properties. They also do plumbing work as subcontractors servicing water lines, filtration stations… complete water maintenance.

When Nathan from Cape Coral Plumbing stopped by here at Palm Beach Customs he wanted to find out more about what we do and how we do things. Very early in the conversation he decided to go ahead and order the Commercial pack for his trucks. This meant a full lettering service and bedliner for the trucks.

To get the project going on the right path, John Russo asked for some info on Cape Coral Plumbing as a business. The casual conversation led to a clear understanding of what the business needs are so that John can design and perform the truck lettering in such a way that the Cape Coral Plumbing business gets ideal representation.

Since Nathan’s truck was white, the best matching color was dark blue, black and red. The lettering was substantial, only the tail gate wasn’t covered with the lettering project. There are branding info on the doors, bed section and hood.

The bedlining work was also substantial. We covered the railing, front and back bumpers and of course the bed and tail gate. The end result was very solid and Nathan was quite pleased with the price, quality and speedy delivery. Take a look at the images below to see how this lettering and bedlining project turned out.

Client: Vision Landscaping Services LLC

Materials: Reflex bed linier, 3M Gold Leaf foil, 3M color foils

Done in: 2 days, one day for bedlining, and one day for design, cut and lettering

Ben, from Vision Landscaping, wanted a fleet service contract where he’d get the Commercial Truck Package for his trucks. This commercial pack covers Lettering and Bed Lining of trucks. Since this was a fleet account approach, Ben got a good price for the services.

This project was unique because Ben wanted his trucks to be rugged, and also very nice looking. To get this effect, John Russo suggested going with the 3M Gold Leaf Foil that has a deep and rich looks and has an amazing 14 years factory warranty. To complement the gold leaf foil John suggested a nice drop-shadow effect composed of several high quality 3M color foils that went well with the looks of the truck paint.

As Ben was always carying heavy and rough landscaping tools and materials, the bed liner was intented to provide noise reduction, to provide extra grip for the tools, and to look nice too. As Ben’s trucks were dark, there was no need of bed liner color-matching so we just cleared up the bed from all the rust, made sure there are no dents and bumps, and applied the rugged Reflex Bedliner.

The project took two days. One day to get the lettering done, and the other to do the bedlining. Ben was very pleased with the result and has called John several times just to confirm that the bedliner is as good as new, and the lettering looks great after all the beating and heavy sun it gets day in and day out. Derrick Belleville Auto 

Derrick ordered a fleet lettering and bed-lining for his tow truck and service vehicles.  The fleet counts several vehicles so we prepared a special price for Derrick. As usually, John Russo spent some time discussing the project, about the Belleville brand, and how Derreck wants his clients to perceive his brand.

After a brief discussion John recommended chrome lettering foil that has excellent durability and practically immune to UV radiation from the sun.  To get a richer, more dynamic looks Russo suggested a drop-shadow effect and border to add to the lettering depth. The final lettering design was set to use the eye-catching chrome foil, plus 3 other foils. In combination with the black base color from the truck, this lettering job got a stunning looks that is impossible to imitate with the cheap print-on approach many people use nowadays. Thanks to the high quality 3M foils this lettering gets a standard 10 year warranty!

Henry brought his company truck with a request for some standard lettering with his company name and contact info.
As we do with all our clients, John Russo, the owner of Palm Beach Customs had a short talk with Henry about his company, how he sees it and how he wants other people to see the John Henry Paving company.
From the conversation the conclusion was that the company truck should get a more eye-catching lettering service so that it clearly communicates that John Henry Paving is not just any ol’ paving provider, but a serious business with impressive track record and amazing paving jobs done over the years.
To match the company status Russo suggested that the truck lettering should be with two different foil types to get a solid 3D effect for the letters, and high contrast for the additional graphics and logo elements. Russo also suggested to use a reflective foil to get a rich and engaging looks of the lettering. The reflective foil looks great especially at night because it reflects lights just like the way police vehicle lettering is reflective.
All these elements worked together to achieve a hi-end look of the lettering job for this truck and Henry was very happy with the end result.

As an additional idea, Russo suggested bed-lining the truck with the rugged and durable Reflex Bedliner. There are several reasons why a paving company truck needs bedlining:

• Noise and rattle are minimized because the Reflex Bedliner acts as a muffler and deadens that metallic noise of truck beds
• Tools and materials will not need too much extra fixing because Reflex has good gripping properties

To own one of the most  bad ass Jeep 4x4s that are made in the USA since 1941  take a peek at 2 pretty cool Jeeps that we tricked out at our Shop. The Red Jeep 83 is a CJ-7 from California that happens to be owned by Jamie Russo.

This was a special project that father daughter worked on ( me being ‘the Dad ‘) since she was 14 years old. Growing up in a Body Shop Environment had its rewards especially seeing all the cool cars and trucks rolling into the shop. It sure would have the young peoples attention – including the ones who never grew up — lol.

Ok lets talk about the body work and paint now. We stripped this baby down to bare metal with zero rust exposed. Simply love the California cars for this reason and gave it many coats of Epoxy Primer and urethane Primer, then the block sanding and straightening out all the sheet metal began– and I must say not bad for My Daughter, Her cousin Jordan  &  Kai  did all the wet sanding  — at 15 years old —

Then the difficult task of picking a color to paint when you are a kid and walk into the paint  mixing room  – with a complete House of Kolor Mixing bank at your disposal — We went from Lemon Ice to Tangerine and finally Candy Apple Red was the final decision.  It requires a cinder red ground coat then apple Kandy the HI grade urethane. Flow clear by House of Kolor  you can see below it came out very nice.

• Jeep parts and accessory’s  in SWFL  we added Reflex Bedliner to the inside of of the Jeep Floor
• Spray liner was also applied to the roll bar
• we also installed a Weber carburetor, new radiator, lights and goodies  

On a photo below is a 1968 Jeep that the shop restored for a good friend John Gordon. When this came in it had no rust just in need of some love and updating so we did the body work and paint along with a spray on liner on the bed floors, new seats and roll bar. We used his company colors of indigo blue.

Normally the new cars require a primer sealer on the new sheet metal parts then a few coats of base color and 2-3 coats of high grade urethane clear coat to match the OEM finish . When we refinish the classic cars  It can be a very different procedure with body work and multi coats of primer and blocking the primer to straighten the sheet metal .

Once the sheet metal  is ready for paint Then the base coats are applied  usually 4-5 coats  of base and 3 coats of clear

Then  the car is sanded with 500 grit wet sand paper  and 600 grit then an additional  3-4 coats of flow clear is applied ( look below )

I challenge you to ask yourself a question if you are spending the money ( or investing ) on Auto Paint in Cape Coral and Fort Myers
