Remember my Spooktacular Halloween Party that I hosted at Pottery Barn Kids? My sweet vendor and now friend Janderyn from Earth and Sugar made those oh so pretty and yummy chocolate covered Oreos for my sweets table. Janderyn’s bakery, Earth and Sugar is an all natural organic bakery and I am here to tell you that by being all natural and organic doesn’t mean tasteless! I have the BIGGEST sweet tooth of anyone I know and I am totally smitten with Janderyn’s treats! Janderyn recently had an event of her own at Williams-Sonoma on how to bake and frost a cake. She is such a sweet girl and asked if I would be willing to style the set for her to make it feel more at home.

Of course I said yes, what girl wouldn’t want a chance to have free rein of a Williams-Sonoma back room! It was so much fun picking the perfect vessels to compliment Janderyn’s sweet treats. Janderyn’s cake for the event was a spiced pumpkin cake with a maple frosting that she made using the Williams-Sonoma syrup so I incorprated both touches on the set with a large mix of squash to warm it up and to tie in the theme of Thanksgiving which was the following week.

I chose a burlap fabric to use as my table cloth and a moss as my runner to not only create warmth, but to bring a bit of texture to the large scale of the set. I LOVED this glass cake stand and knew that I had to fill it with some moss, pumpkins and squash to make it work for the set.

Janderyn made chocolate mini cupcakes with a pistachio crumb topping, chocolate chip cookies and pretty pink macaroons that were as tasty as they were pretty for the guests to enjoy after the demonstration.

She also baked this amazing pumpkin tart with a ginger root crust that was simply amazing!

See these oh so pretty cake pops? Janderyn made them for one special little girl who is a type 1 diabetic. You can follow Maeve’s story here on FB or watch this heart felt video! Janderyn made them using chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting coated in white chocolate (pink is Maeve’s favorite color) and pearl sprinkles! They are accented with a blue ribbon in support of diabetes awareness. Having a husband who is a type 1 diabetic, Maeve’s story hits close to home. I was so thrilled to be able to take part this day and watch Maeve enjoy her specially made treat, just for her!

I am so happy to have connected with Janderyn and look forward to many more events together!

When Beth Beattie contacted me to design a New Year’s Eve invitation and dinner menu for a shoot she was styling for The Party Dress Magazine, of course I said yes!

I have worked with Beth on past projects for her and Danielle’s blog, Palm Beach Lately. She is a gal who knows exactly what she is looking for as far as design and I LOVE that about custom orders! It takes all the guess work and headache away from me so that I can focus all of my energy on the design at hand.

Beth is a genius when it comes to styling a party so I wasn’t surprised that this shoot would be anything less than fabulous! Gold tones are everywhere these days and I am LOVING how she paired them with the blush tones. When I was contacted by our local Pottery Barn Kids at The Gardens Mall to start hosting a series we like to call Designer Series, I was (still am) over the moon ecstatic! You see, I LOVE our local Pottery Barn Kids! I am smitten with their products, the staff there is amazing (seriously how many people could work and have kids playing in your store) and they are stepping it up by bringing events like this to the store.

We kicked off our first event with a Spooktacular Halloween Party. All twenty of our little guests had so much fun learning how to make lollipop spiders and ghosts and then enjoyed the YUMMY treats while I talked to the grown ups about simple, low cost ways to make your dessert table sparkle. See that frame and those candlesticks…it’s amazing what a can of spray paint can do! My motto is, “who needs all over decorations when your dessert table is simply that.”And I have always giggled at the little saying, “You don’t have to be a Martha to have a fabulous party.”

Each of the guests took home a friendly edible skeleton and a set of party circles to create favor tags, cupcake toppers or anything they could dream up!

Now, I have to tell you that the day before the event, as I was printing everything out, my computer crashed beyond repair. I was lucky enough to have party circles for this event. I could have digitally inserted them into the photos via Photoshop, but that wasn’t the party. To make sure that never happens I now have two computers and two high def printers…because this girl is way too OCD for something like that to ever happen.

We are now planning for the Holiday event (that date has not yet been announced) however, I will tell you that it will be an event you will definitely want to RSVP for.

I have to thank my fabulous vendors that greasouly donated their time and talents to help me make this event a success! They are my go-to gals for all things party and I am so thankful that they were willing to be a part of this event!

I am beyond excited to be teaming up with Pottery Barn Kids at The Gardens Mall to bring to you a segment called Designer Series.

Designer Series will offer entertaining and craft ideas that not only the “everyday” person can put together, but will wow your guests and get your kids in on the fun!

Our first Designer Series will kick off on October 6th from 2-4 pm, where we will be showcasing entertaining and craft ideas for Halloween. So come join us at The Gardens Mall!

I am smitten with muslin lately so when I came across this super cute craft idea via Martha I knew it would be an automatic share!

A grown up will have to do the cutting, but have a kid paint the apple and apply it to your muslin bag so that they feel part of the craft!

How-To
1. Cut apple vertically, avoiding core and seeds. Using a craft knife, carve out a face.

2. With a foam brush, apply a thin layer of orange acrylic paint to surface of apple.

3. Lay a bag on a washcloth, and stamp with apple.

4. To create a stem shape, cut off the tip of a triangular makeup sponge; dip in green paint, and stamp.

Such a cute idea and so much more fun than than printing onto fabric transfers!

It’s hard to imagine that a year ago (and some weeks now, but who’s counting?) Palm Beach Parties was launched! What started as a form of therapy for me while recovering from a cervical spinal fusion and spinal cord decompression has grown into the unimaginable…a business!

I had big plans for Palm Beach Parties over the Summer, with the launch of many fun new items, (coming soon I promise) and then our home sold in two days and it has been a whirlwind since. I am only now sitting down to blog for this first time since Summer even started. Crazy right~! And to think we get to do it all over again in 3 1/2 months when our home is scheduled to be complete…oh my!

Back on track now…since I didn’t line up this big extravagant giveaway filled with tons of amazing vendors, I thought I could offer my customers something a bit different… A custom designed, printable collection for a theme not in my shop that they they would LOVE to have for their party! And maybe two other winners could win themes that are in my shop?  Sound fair enough?

I should also mention that my blog is undergoing a bit of a transformation into an e-commerce site so you will not find too many items here. But all of my items can be found HERE in my Etsy shop.

The Palm Beach Parties website is undergoing a bit of a transformation to make room for many new products as well as converting to an e-commerce site.  Please excuse the dust while we undergo the transformation.

You see, until now the ONLY way you could purchase Palm Beach Parties products was the Etsy Shop. Now don’t get me wrong I am thrilled with the outcome of Etsy and will continue to host an Etsy shop, but thought I could offer my customers “more” by offering the ability to have everything in a one-stop-shop here on my website.

So stay tuned to many new products coming to the shop as well as the ability to order directly!
